I don’t care what you say Mike and Max are besties so here are some headcanons for them
Mike is basically the only one in the party that Max is still in frequent contact with before season 4 because they have scheduled weekly scream sessions where they go into the woods together and shout every problem they can think of
“I HATE HAVING TO GO HOME LATE EVERY THURSDAY JUST TO TALK TO SOME LADY THAT DOESN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON!!”
“WELL I HATE THAT ANYTIME I COMPLAIN MY ENTIRE FAMILY BLAMES IT ON ME MISSING EL AS IF ALL MY OTHER PROBLEMS ARE DISMISSIBLE!!”
Despite always saying they’re grouped up by the teacher in their shared classes they always give each other the “look” when group projects are announced
Max asks Mike how the others are doing and he usually brushes her off like “why do you care” or “ask them yourself” but she doesn’t miss how he mentions the party in stories a little bit more frequently after she asks
Max has secretly stayed in the Wheelers basement a couple of times when she forgot the key to the trailer and her mom won’t wake up. Despite previous events the Wheelers are still just as oblivious. Well, Holly knows but Mike swore her to secrecy and she likes Max so she agreed
Whenever the two are together they are the most judgmental bitches you will ever meet but if anyone ever tries to join in on the bitching they will simultaneously give them the dirtiest look they can muster

Robin has to deal with Barb’s gushing all day. Like she gets it, she is a total lesbian too, still annoying though. But one thing about their friendship is they can do this and each other is their safe person. But if she has to hear about Nancy fucking Wheeler one more time… They just moved here, Barb.
After AV Club is cancelled, the kids decide to head over to Dustin’s because no one really feels like dealing with siblings today between Erica’s nosiness and Jonathan working. Mikes argues with Max about tagging along until the boys all agree just to end it.
(Note, this fic is still (and will probably stay) a bullet-point fic, so it is a little unusual in writing style)
