The fact that it's been almost 8 years since Glee ended and the Kl*ine stans are still just as insufferable and insecure as ever. Like why are y'all attacking Jenna and Kevin just because they don't really talk about them and didn't like one of their scenes? Like who cares? That's their opinion and that pair didn't involve them anyway. It doesn't mean they hate them.
And even if they did, they have that right. Kevin being gay doesn't mean he's required to like every single gay pair or character (especially when they're terribly written). Damn just don't listen to their podcast and go about your business. This isn't hard.

Okay okay okay okay. And hear me out. I’m going to lay out the evidence and you’re all going to correct me
tubbo politely critiqued bbh’s party set up for several minutes (no decorations??)
tubbo tried to give suggestions on how to liven the place up (there was a lot of talk about bunting which bbh completely brushed off)
tubbo stated several times that he was excited to be attending a party (no one has invited him to a party in ages!)
tubbo felt strongly about dressing in an appropriate formal skin for the event (taking time to weigh his options and emphasize that some skins are too casual for a party like this)
tubbo made certain to prepare a gift for the host (he gave some concerns about appearances and rudeness)
tubbo keeps up with the events of parties he didn’t attend (read about the red banquet in the Dream SMP Times, knew enough to discuss it with bbh)
I think it’s abundantly clear that tubbo cares about throwing good parties and being a good guest and keeping up to date with the parties he can’t attend.
I think. President Underscore. was a socialite.

Okay, apparently shutting the fuck up was never an option but the way no one likes to look at the marina situation and go "wow what the fuck is wrong with portia"? Crazy.
Like she immediately didn't like her, not because of anything she'd done, but because she took attention from her daughters no matter how bright she dressed them.
It didn’t matter that the main reason is that, honestly all 3 of her daughters are painfully awkward, and in ones case literally 17. It didn’t matter that Marina was only there at her fathers instance, or that theoretically through having someone thats clearly popular in her home she could have used it as a jump off mark to match her daughters, she was seen as her big hurdle to marrying them off. Marinas immediately othered, to the point that when shes being dressed the maids helping put on her shoes is enough to piss Portia off. She immediately puts Marina in the same ring as her daughters, fight for my attention and maybe maybe it'll be positive. But Marina doesn't do that because she doesn't want to even be there.
And then they find out she's pregnant and shes othered even more. She immediately tries to send her back, and when she's not allowed to do that shes locked away and the other girls aren't even allowed to talk to her. She literally tries to freeze her out, like Marina has any say in being there in the first place, before lying to her about her being abandoned by George.
She makes no attempt to find out if George has family, she doesn't care enough to try even though that would have been a way to get rid of her "problem". She tries to push Marina onto a man old enough to be her grandfather and slaps her across the fucking face when she tries to stand up for herself.
Theres no concern for her safety, for the babys safety, just getting her out of her house as fast as fucking possible, and I'm meant to be surprised that when Colin saves Marina from her elderly suitor she turns her attention to him?
Like the nicest guy, who everyone likes, who's attractive, who isn't multiple decades older than her and most importantly not going to literally assault her? Yeah not a big shocker. Should she have lied to him? No, but she wouldn't have had to or felt the need to if she wasn't in the most hostile fucking house. Even Penelope, who she likes, why does everyone forget that she fucking likes Penelope and viewed her as a friend, becomes aggressive towards her. Shes cornered, shes scared, and all of this could have been avoided if Portia was a slightly better person and said "hey soilder boys not written back, you're gonna have this kid, does he have any family?" instead of setting this entire mess in motion.

The bad thing about being a random medias lover but also being someone who studied lit and/or classics for 8 years is that I LOVE Epic the Musical so much (unironically) but am Pained by the reinterpretation of Odysseus' character in an attempt to character drive his epic.
Like obviously, it's not going to follow the OG story and themes perfectly and Jay's been clear on that. But also, I keep seeing so much missed opportunities to throw in some Golden Age of Athens philosophies (though I know the epics obviously happened way before) into the story or Missed Themes of the original epic that I know aren't the POINT of the musical but....
Anyway, what I am saying is that calling Epic the Musical an adaptation of the Odyssey PAINS ME as a literature student but makes me VERY happy as just a literature enjoyer

Also on the subject of Valas and how other people (including other characters) misinterpret him, there's another layer to his interaction with Zaknafein that I find really amusing.
Because the entire thing is shown through Zak's perspective.
From Zak's end of things we see him repeatedly reference inside jokes between himself and Jarlaxle in relation to Arathis, all of which go over Valas' head because that's his grandfather, not *him*
So Valas just kinda awkwardly stands there in silence and just gives him confused looks as he keeps talking to himself about how 'one does not find a drow'
And Zak is interpreting it as evidence that Valas is a creepy weirdo just like his grandpa and just like... absolutely assuming the worst of him due to his social awkwardness.
But anyone who's read anything else with Valas in it (especially WotSQ or his cameo in Gauntlgrym) know that if it were told from Valas' perspective, he'd be like:
"Wow, Jarlaxle's bestie sure is a strange guy. Huh. Oh, well *shrug*"

(i haven't read Whole Cake in a while, and i never really watched it, so bear with me)
I'd love to write a fic with Usopp on Whole Cake. it'd be sooo fucking long and i'd need to refresh myself on the entire arc, but god i'd probably be so satisfied when it's done. specifically for having brought a single moment in my head to life, but we'll get to that.
On Zou, he insists to be taken along on the Sanji rescue team and has worked himself up with a whole bunch of very good reasons as to why he should go there instead of helping in Wano, but of course Luffy just immediately accepts with a "yeah sure"
With Whole Cake, I think he'd be flipping between having fun as part of the idiot trio/quartet (Luffy, Chopper, Carrot), and being terrified with Nami. There wouldn't be that many differences in the arc as a whole, though; some things would be easier/better and some things would be worse- I don't necessarily think Usopp's presence would be overall an advantage or disadvantage, just different. Like, major events would stay mostly the same, but little details would change and maybe those little details would build to a far more drastic change-
for example, maybe one of Big Mom's kids considers themself a great sniper and wants a match with Usopp, or is motivated to work harder because Usopp is around and they want to take him out and boast about it. Maybe it means Sunny takes more damage than canon, or maybe Usopp's help means less damage to Sunny. (idk if i'd really do smth like this, but it's just an example)
skjdhf fuck i'm really not equipped to try and figure this out when i don't remember shit from Whole Cake aaaa
I do know that, despite his penchant for talking and rambling, I'd probably have Usopp be dead silent after his initial shock when Sanji fights Luffy. Everything about that is the same, except Usopp is just watching Sanji the whole time- not panicking, not moving, and not speaking. He doesn't say a word the entire time, doesn't even make a sound, and that, along with Luffy's words and Nami's begging, stick with Sanji.
(Usopp is thinking of his own fight with Luffy in Water 7, he's partially wondering if this was what it was like- if it was this painful to watch from the sidelines- and partially knowing he doesn't have to say a word, because he knew, like he knew back then, that it didn't matter what was said. It wasn't quite the same, but he could tell in the way Sanji moved, in the way he spoke and held himself, that he was putting on a front, trying to be brave in all the wrong ways. Usopp didn't say a word to Sanji because there was nothing he could say that Sanji himself didn't already know. Should've known. And his quiet, direct stare, was more than enough.)
the singular moment i really wanna write, is a scene where Sanji is apologizing for dragging them into his mess- either during the big meeting in Bege's castle or some other time- and Usopp's like "I'll do what you can't, you do what I can't, right?" and Sanji pauses, a little confused, until he remembers Enies Lobby and a stupid mask and cape and-
and tears are gathering in his eyes now, fuck, but he laughs a little. It sounds wet and his face is itchy and they're surrounded by tentative allies, but he- he laughs again and he says, "Fuck, you remembered that?"
Usopp shrugs, a little smile on his face. "They were some wise words from a wise man."
Sanji laughs a third time. "You think I'm wise?"
And they banter a little more before Bege tells them to quit it since they're on a time constraint or something. Quietly, Usopp will ask, "It-it helps. On bad days. And I figured, 'what's a worse day than this?' Ah, not that you getting married would ever be bad per se-"
"Usopp," Sanji says, looking more relaxed and settled. He smiles fondly and grabs his friend in a one armed hug, crushing him to his side. "Thanks."
And yeah, don't remember much beyond that, except the whole "hiding and then busting out of the cake" bit, which would mean Usopp in a cute little tuxedo or smth- maybe with a fedora aaaaaa <- loves fedoras- helping out with the fighting and eventually sailing with everyone to Wano.
He would be so distressed about fixing up Sunny now that the whole thing with Whole Cake is over. Maybe there'd be a gag about him promising Franky to take good care of Sunny while they were gone and being confident, after being Franky's tinkering partner and learning from him over time, that he could handle minor repair work much better than he did the first time around with Merry. And so when he finally takes in all the very-not-minor repairs he has to do, he's certain Franky is gonna strangle him for not keeping his promise. Probably also try to write in some nostalgic 'repairman Usopp' vibes from pre-Water 7.
Also something something, Sanji, wanting to do more for the crew bc he still feels guilty about Whole Cake, decides to take it upon himself to help Usopp not fall into a whole anxiety spiral about the ship. In turn, Usopp ends up helping Sanji not feel so guilty- usually by handing his own words back to him on a silver platter. And, yknow, having the two of them bonding and being buddies again like they so rarely get to be in canon nowadays qwq

That was Then, This is NOW
AHHHHHHHHHH
ASPEEPS!!! I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THAT WAS THEN THIS IS NOW (TWTTIN <- awful acronym I know) HAS A MOVIE!!!
I know what you're saying. "But [insert name], I don't even know what book you're talking about. Why should I care?" Well I'll tell you why you should care. Y'all've read The Outsiders, haven't you?? It's only The Outsiders more depressing sequel!! Like c'mon. We're all about the angst!!
*and also I totally forgot they were foster brother and not just friends chilling under the same roof (tbf they were friends long before he joined their family) but.. the bromance.. I just need some people, preferably like mindedly gay minded people to read the book, watch the movie etc, and discuss it with me. For my peace of mind.
[and for that very small number of people who have read Peace Breaks Out *cough you know who you are cough* it's basically the equivalent! ASP and Outsiders were the popular ones, they were angsty, about teens for teens before YA was a real reading section, had gay controversies (for different reasons of course XD), and ended on slightly hopeful notes (you may disagree, but I think Gene found peace or something akin to it, maybe self forgiveness at the end of the book). NOW THE SEQUELS. Very disheartening defeatist messages. Everything is irreparably broken and I don't know how to go on but I can't die. Everyone can be monsters so there is no point having faith in humanity. Etc. (Yeesh.) SO GOOD. and they both have the obligatory reference to book 1 which I love.
So to summarize. We have a discord. (We will have a discord I should say). We have internet (obviously). What prevent us from expanding our gloomy horizons???
