If you still hate the second Tokyo Mew Mew anime because 'it's not like the original, have you ever stopped to consider that the 2002 anime, while giving more screentime to the other Mews; had a more fragmented narrative because it was likely greenlit before the source material began serialization, the girls didn't have any genuinely meaningful character development and were mainly constricted to common personality traits present through the 2000s, removed a major chunk of Masaya's depths and how much Ichigo means to him (which he got back in New), Mew Lettuce tending to get a lot of panty-shot type angles and having more than a few characterization differences (including Masaya above) with negative implication impacts on the audience (Masaya's reasons for liking Ichigo in the first anime, Bu-Ling having an older fiance etc:).

While I’m a bit bummed we didn’t get too much substance from this latest TMMN episode in regards to the alien culture and details about their civilization, I’m really curious if the writers are going to tie in the “Those Who Remain” & “Those Who Leave” premise in with the origin of Deep Blue at all.

It’s interesting that they’re introducing the concept of the “ghosts” of the old civilization remaining on Earth, and that Deep Blue isn’t mentioned at all as being a part of the alien civilization when a large chunk of their people left.

Maybe the writers are planning on tying his origin story to this somehow?

It seems Lucifer pulled Nat from @asktheisle for the Star Sending Event! Nat seems glad for the company and the sentiment, though how he managed to get two gifts is anyone's guess. Apparently it wasn't too difficult? Transform's a useful move.

Nat was given a book on constellations ("Atlas of the Stars")! It's a decent read that both gives a good rundown on astronomy, as well as illustrations of the constellations and a general guide on how to find them at night.

In the smaller gift box is a Reshiram-themed pendant! Apparently dragon-type themed accessories and apparel are pretty popular right now. Something about Mystery Dungeons and Dragons...

I finally realized why Minto's transformation in New was so underwelming. In the original anime, ballet was a promient part of her character alongside her first anime/manga protrayal. With the second anime's changes to her personality and her goals in life, the classical danc to make Minto feel more well rounded, aspect of her's is no longer as relevant hence her having a more stiff transformation that feels disjointed from the OG onde.

Phew, I resonated HARD with Mint’s backstory in this week’s episode. IMO her personality really shines for the first time in this episode.

Even though we don’t get a confirmation of exactly why Ryou and Keiichiro chose her first, you can read between the lines a bit here — Mint wants the responsibility. She wants to do everything she can to fulfill her duties as a Mew. In a way, she was the perfect fit for the first Mew simply because she took the assignment and ran with it. Maybe Ryou and Keiichiro knew she’d jump at the opportunity to assemble the team, and prove herself to be the trailblazer she knows she can be.
