🌃🪟🐟Perfect Blue 🐟🪟🌃 Mima the main focus in the Film. Watched Perfect Blue (1997) on Saturday. I have lot of feelings about this film especially with some of the intense scenes. But after watching the film for the second time and rethinking my thoughts since I had no idea how dark the film would get... I can say I enjoyed the film. I enjoyed what it represents especially since some of the messages hit home. The visuals, animation, twists and turns, and the ending made me feel for Mima. Speaking of Mima, I liked her thorough out the film and even wished she didn't make some of the decisions she made. Sweet girl who was around bad people, who only thought about themselves when it came to what was best for Mima's future and health. I'm trying desperately to recover from my Spider-Verse Haze and then I had this stupid idea in my head.😂

What if there was an alternate universe where Mima didn't become an actress and still remained a pop idol?

My theory is this: Rumi was probably the one in charge of CHAM's stage costumes. And the costumes were either a cute dress or other childlike outfits that fits the "innocent" profile of the idol group. As the movie progresses, the events slowly come together and make sense of what was going on with Mima (internally and externally) as she loses her grip on reality and who she was. Meanwhile, Me-Mania (Mamoru Uchida) was taking his duty as a bodyguard a little too far because he was willing to do anything for his "Mima-rin". For Example, the Mima's Room website, The exploding fan letter, The Hit-and-Run incident involving one of the delinquents, and The murder of the screenwriter, the photographer, & Mr. Tadakoro. But Me-Mania was merely a pawn being taken advantage of by his fantasy of Mima, who turned out to be Rumi herself.

Martedì sono stato alla fiera del libro a Bologna. Prima volta che ci andavo, esperienza bellissima da rifare per forza! E ho parlato molto di Satoshi Kon e di Perfect Blue. Al ritorno volevo disegnare Mima e avevo chiaramente in mente la posa e il disegno (che potete vedere alla fine). Avevo anche registrato il reel, ma no, non mi piaceva per niente. Piatto e senza spessore, ho provato a rifarlo da capo mille altre volte ma niente. Ho deciso di fermarmi, cambiare tutto, e ricominciare da capo. Ho provato svariati pennelli per uscire dalla comfort zone (a proposito, ce n’è uno che vi piace di più?) e alla fine sono riuscito a fare questo, con una tecnica di colorazione diversa dal solito. Sono soddisfatto? Al momento sì, tanto che sto pianificando di riprendere con le vignette di Cuoreculo e di riprendere ad aggiornare la pagina più spesso!
