Listen. If anybody is likely to bring home a stray cat now, it would be Kazuki, as a sign he's learning to heal from his trauma and attachment issues.

Except there's a zero-chance he brings home a cute little kitten as Rei did. Nope, this man will find the most scrungly, half-feral cat on the streets, one that nobody else wanted and everybody actively avoids, and his heart will break and he'll decide, I must show it love.

Having Houdini and Miss California has made me appreciate Miriam so much more. She's is so smart, so sweet, and so well-behaved. Here are some Miri facts for everyone:

Miri can open any door she can get a paw under, which is every interior door in both houses she's ever lived in

Miri can open any cabinet, just like with doors, but largely leaves them alone unless I leave one ajar, at which point she'll get curious and explore it

Miri does not care about people food, particularly, but enjoys some cooked meats, and loves all dairy

It was Miri's official job when she was little to bother me if I stayed on my computer playing video games for too long. To train her on this, I fed her treats at my bedtime so that at around that time she'd come and get me. Then I'd give her treats and go to bed.

She also does this with the fish. She gets treats when I feed them their dinner, so if I miss their dinner time, she comes to find me to let me know. This is of course assuming she herself is not asleep and wants a treat, but it's better than nothing.

She has been very gracious about allowing not one but two new cats into her home.

I love you, Miri!
