Everything I've seen about the tiktok/VPN bill indicated that it is only applicable to government devices. It would ban use of tiktok on government devices (they can use it on a personal device) and they would be punished if they used a VPN to circumvent the ban on their government device.

Where is everyone getting the idea that it would extend to everyone from?

(Also, it was just introduced and it didn't look like it had gone any farther than that when I checked Congress's bill check website thing yesterday)

I'll be honest with this one I'm 100% taking the word of the commentators and the people who've read the bill. It seems like the two main sources are a political commentator on Twitter and the official Twitter account of the Mises Caucus which is some sort of a Libertarian think tank. I haven't read the bill and I haven't seen any other right leaning news site talking about it, and I've checked a few times. I don't know if that's because there's nothing to this, or because the conservative media is distracted by the trans shooter or complicit in hiding what the bill actually is. I'm less inclined these days to err on the side of positivity when it comes to things like this, though. I hope you're right, though.

The Mises Caucus now in control of the LP has adopted a hard-right approach to attract supporters, mimicking the “paleo strategy” from the early 1990s created by the self-proclaimed racists Murray Rothbard and Lew Rockwell. Rothbard and Rockwell used the strategy to appeal to far-right conservatives and authored a newsletter that trafficked in anti-immigrant talking points, race science, and anti-LGBTQ ideas. Many "Libertarians" now advocate for state violence directed against their opponents including BLM, antifa, feminist, and trans-rights advocates.

What about the 2024 presidential election ?

En aucun cas, Bernie Sanders n'aurait pu représenter (to stand for) le parti démocrate car il était trop de gauche (liberal) pour être désigné (to designate).

Il est imporant de noter que l'élection présidentielle est basée sur le principe “du gagnant remporte la mise”. Si un candidat remporte (to win) 51% des voix (votes) dans un état, il ou elle obtient (to get) tous les grands électeurs de l'état. Plus un état est peuplé, plus il a de grands électeurs

En conséquence, même si Hillary Clinton a gagné le vote populaire de (by) 2,9 millions de voix en 2016, elle n'est pas devenue la POTUS.

Dans la mesure où les sondeurs avaient prédit sa victoire, la déception de l’ancienne Première Dame et ancienne Secrétaire d’Etat d’Obama a été immense.

On ne peut nier que beaucoup d'électeurs de la classe moyenne ont tourné le dos aux Anes, ce qui a fait pencher la balance en faveur de Trump dans les états cruciaux (swing states), à la différence de 2020 où il a perdu le vote populaire et le vote des grands électeurs.

On pourrait se demander si Donald Trump a été élu parce que le rêve américain était en lambeaux ou s'il a touché la corde sensible (to strike the sensitive chord) des cols bleus. Cela reste (to remain …) à voir.

The Mises Caucus' foes have accused the faction of planning to stop running candidates against Republicans they like. Heise denied this in a phone interview before the convention. The Mises-run party will continue to try to run local candidates especially, he said, with a preferred strategy of straight-up localist nullification of federal laws. "Decentralization" is a mantra of Heise's, and the caucus's Twitter feed has openly been against the long-held legal principle that the 14th Amendment means that states and localities also have to obey the federal Bill of Rights. Most libertarians might see decentralization as an often useful tool that often can increase liberty, but nonetheless agree that the federal government forcing states and localities to respect rights is perfectly fine. Heise in a phone interview suggested that federal pressure even to honor citizens' liberty is an unacceptable violation of the decentralization principle.

Mises caucus are those who are fans of Rothbard.  Libertarians in the comments also not pleased with reason for this piece.
