“Hello, to all of those listening to this. My name is unimportant, and what is lies in what it is that I do. One week ago today, the world was met with a flurry…of cards.“ 

“Every man, woman, non-binary individual, and seemingly sentient soul upon this earth was given what we’ve elected to refer to as ‘Tarrow Cards’, with a title on the front and a single word on its back.”

“Regardless of age, your card appears to have given you a new fascinating ability, most of which the world has never seen before. The world is changing quickly, it seems. No matter your belief on the state of the world before that day, it is now impossible to deny the supernatural state of this landscape we all live within.”

“Over the past ten years, you’ve likely read about the experimental city being built over international waters in the Atlantic Ocean. In this past week, due to the abilities of certain individuals involved, we’re able to now announce the opening of said city, in one month’s time.“ 

“We will require no passports, and no qualifications for citizenship. We have food, shelter, optional employment, and anything else you may wish to find.”

“I’ve been studying these cards, and the changes humanity has gone through very carefully. And I can state now, without a shadow of a doubt…this is a change for the better.”

An announcement that all throughout the world heard. Through the radio, through the papers. You heard or read it. The world is changing. It’s for the better, then…? 

Followed by an announcement that all throughout the world heard, but none remembered.

The voice echoed throughout the world, seemingly without a source, heard both everywhere and nowhere. Somewhere within all that nowhere, this voice reached a room, lit by a single computer monitor. And in that room, something listened.

“WOW! THAT’S A LOTTA WORDS TO SAY, ‘DO NOT TRUST ME, I PROBABLY SMELL!’”

“C'MON, ‘MY NAME IS UNIMPORTANT,’ ‘NO QUALIFICATIONS FOR CITIZENSHIP,’ ‘FREE FOOD,’ LIKE HELLO? RED FLAG? THAT’S SOME MONDO SUSPICIOUS SHIT.”

“HONESTLY IF THOSE CHUDS BELIEVE THAT, THEY SHOULD GO TOUCH GRASS. I DID IT ONCE. HATED IT. BUT IT WAS GOOD FOR ME! NOW I HAVE SPECIAL EYES THAT LET ME SEE THROUGH BULLSHIT LIKE THIS.”

“… EH, I COULD USE SOME ENTERTAINMENT! MIGHT AS WELL GRAB A FRONT ROW SEAT FOR THIS SHITSHOW.”

“NOW, I JUST NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ANYWHERE.”

One Week: Brand New Life is a discord based 20+ Danganronpa OC roleplay, featuring discord submission trials and an active, plot-relevant deadzone, allowing dead characters to continue to freely interact with the living if they wish. Our cast will be exploring their recently developed powers in an ever expanding city over international waters that you yourself will help define and build. Twenty characters from across the world will get to experience a unique, extended prologue that will cover one year of in-game time, before the actual MKG begins. We aim to bring you a potentially lighter, relaxed environment, both in and out of character; while still being following the typical killing game formula.

The game will feature a flexible 4 to 5 week schedule over 5 chapters, as well as a prologue and endgame, with trials that last several days to accommodate varying timezones and schedules. Our trial system will be submission-based over discord, allowing players to submit their trial posts directly to the server’s trial channel, while still managing a flexible queue. The game will allow for supernatural, alien, robotic, and fantastical characters, as well as normal humans - although no matter your character’s initial status, everyone will be experiencing a new power set, to spread the love! The game will not feature a mistrial system, but will pledge itself into working dutifully with its murder teams to create cases that are both satisfyingly difficult, as well as ultimately solvable, without pushing cast nor killer unnecessarily far.  APPS OPEN / APPS CLOSE 3/10!

Hi! So, you may have noticed that I made a whole announcement about after having lost my way writing CYAH and promising to rework the story, I basically disappeared off the face of the planet for the next year on the majority of my social media. I’m really sorry! Part of this was touching grass. Part of this was getting into MKGRP but we don’t need to talk about that. Mostly I wanted to address the fact that another year has come and gone, and I… am still nowhere near where I want to be with CYAH.

ASLH, the fangan that I’d written previously, was a work that influenced a lot of people, and I’m eternally thankful for all of the feedback and the people I’ve met through working on that story. That being said, its success is in large part influencing the way that I think about CYAH. Because I wanted to outdo myself, and because I’ve gotten older and better at writing and drawing, I went into CYAH with a feeling of wanting the story to be “worthy” of everything I’ve done up to this point. I came to it at least partially with the intent of making something greater to or equal than ASLH in terms of messages and meaning, while also not having a clear idea of what those would be. I also hadn’t really planned enough in the hopes of recreating that magic spontaneity that led to some really impactful lategame writing decisions, which is something I’ve mentioned in the past.

This all has contributed to me being unable to face CYAH, or ASLH for that matter - in the past two years, I’ve stopped being able to actually enjoy any of my writing or stories without wanting to tear it all out and rewrite it. Which! Sucks. And is part of a greater pattern in my life that I am currently attempting to unpack. I think something I need to remember is that ASLH is a story I wrote as a high schooler for myself, and that I don’t need it to be anything else. That CYAH should be something I work on for my present self, and that it really doesn’t need to be anything deeper than what I would like to read and tell people about. Also, lovingly, recognition is the devil.

So! Basically, I still don’t intend to abandon CYAH. It may take me some time to love it again, but I know I will get there eventually and in my own time. I don’t EXPECT any progress on it, however, so I can’t give you a time frame. I’ve been telling myself that I expect progress for the past year and a half, and really all it’s done is stress me out and make me worry even more about putting out a better story. So I want to take my time and not pressure myself. I don’t ask anything of you, and to be clear, I don’t expect anyone to wait for me, since I have no idea how long it’ll take. But mark my words, I will get it done.

Be kind to yourselves! We get older, we get busier. These things happen no matter where you are in life, and progress often isn’t linear. I’m wishing you the best as we all continue to move forward!

Manafield slammed the door behind her as she walked into her office, making poor Sandra jump at the sudden noise.

She didn't particularly care, instead heading straight to her desk and taking a seat. Today she was going straight for her favourite drawer. As she rummaged through the damn thing, she heard her secretary approach.

"President Manafield, ma'am, wh-"

"Not now, Sarah. That whole photo shoot was a massive waste of my time. Charity? What Pride really gives a - aha!" She found where she'd hidden the cigars away. If there was ever a time to smoke, it was now. Manafield lit the end of it, and took a deep inhale. Finally. Something she could enjoy today.

Her secretary was still just standing there. It reminded her exactly how new the poor thing was. It tended to happen since she had such high standards. High standards that weren't currently being met.

Manafield blew out the smoke in Sandra's direction. As the woman coughed, she snapped her fingers.

"Sammy, I'm gonna be real honest with you. I needed you to be booking an appointment with my pookums about 10 minutes ago, and it's a damn shame you still haven't. Be a dear and get that shit going." She leaned back in her chair, tilting her head up to the ceiling. Mentally, she counted. One... two... three...

The panicked sound of Sandra's heels clicking as she hurried away was like music to her ears.

"Fuckin' Samhain and her sanctimonious bullshit."

At least the post hadn't turned out too bad in the end.

Lucidity’s Merge (LUME) is an 18+ OC mutual killing game roleplay inspired by FFXIV, Log Horizon, and the “trapped in a virtual world” genre - though you will not need to be familiar with these inspirations to play.

Roleplay will take place on Discord, and trials will take place on Tumblr. It will feature 16 player characters and 4 mod OCs, and players will be able to interact in both the physical world as themself and the MMO as their in-game avatar.

The game will be 5 chapters long, running roughly from May to November - featuring investigations, trials, combat, alchemy, and an active deadzone tied to the plot.

Chapter 3 Event (Secrets/Ballroom) Recap 2/2

As the evening wore on, each pair took to the floor. Some were clearly better dancers than others, but for the most part, everyone did their best. They waltzed, twirled, box stepped and tangoed. Some performances were lighthearted, and others urgent, determined. The sight of everyone dancing across the floor in their finery was certainly a show, but, unfortunately, this was still a competition.

Huh! It seems to be raining outside, a welcoming sight after Desmond happened across a lonesome gazebo. London's various parks gave way to benevolent strolls, which he happened to be on - unfortunately, they weren't an umbrella-carrying type. Parasols, sure. Umbrellas, eh.

If possible, the doctor would've stood beneath an elderly willow tree and waited until the rainstorm passed.

There wasn't any in sight, as far as they were concerned. Young oaks, black cherries, the soft bark of white and yellow birches... The noticeable scent of honeydew wafted through the air, encouraging him to step into the gazebo and sit down on a dust-covered marble bench. Closing his eyes to listen.

A calming, beautifully orchestrated song pitter-pattered against the roof at numerous pitches and sound.

It felt right to stay within nature's boundaries again, rather than cooping himself up in his manor. No symphonic band could produce such a miraculous song.

And he was there to experience such a thing again, alone. Without Targent interference, but without the one he called his love ever again.

So, Desmond occupied a bench and rested their back against marble fencing, mind emptied for a short while.

Hello, everyone! Big news; we've picked out our roster! Power Roles have been contacted and accepted their positions, and we're getting started on roster art and game launch prep. Thank you again for all the apps y'all sent in - this was an incredibly tough roster to pick, and there were a great number of apps we're truly sad we couldn't take. So much so we've increased the final roster to 22 cast members (including our 4 mod OCs)! As soon as we know when our roster drop date is going to be, we'll be sure to let you know, too. These things take time, so we kindly ask that you don't poke or rush us about when the roster drop date will be. In addition, should you need to rescind your app for any reason, please let us know ASAP. The sooner we know, the easier it'll be for us to adjust as needed. On that note, we are pleased to share with you news of our next Alumni Experience trip: this January, sixteen of our talented students from around the globe will visit the Historic Meridian Theatre. Built in the 1920s, the atmospheric theatre located in the heart of New Orleans was closed for renovations after the turn of the century. For years the theatre was abandoned to time— but just in time for its 120th anniversary, the theatre will host its grand reopening. Your patronage has made it possible for the next generation to be there to witness it.  

With the confidence of your past achievements cemented in history, we hope that you will keep your eyes on what the future has to offer for Hope's Peak.

Three Act Thrill is an upcoming 16+ discord-based Danganronpa MKG roleplay drawing inspiration from Zero Escape, the aesthetic of A3!, and theater superstitions. 

Three Act Thrill also aims to offer a very streamlined and slightly non-traditional experience, with mechanics including a public thread system, public investigations and a queue trial. The game will span a 3-4 month period, featuring 3 chapters on a 3-week schedule, with allowances for player/mod needs. General applications end on May 27th, so audition today!

How did you get into MKGRP?

Like how I did fangans: watched my friends get into it, and I decided I wanted to be included. For the uninitiated, I'm told that the DR Nexus Discord (?) is a place that a lot of people advertise, and also checking the MKGRP tag on Tumblr (not sure if it's a different tag). But honestly, I only apply to games that people I know are applying to, and then I ask them for links, so I'm not much help if you're looking to get into it yourself.
