Lethal Protection for Adam @o5-12? Can be from any of your muses!

Jack strode down the hallway, mind already filtering out the blaring alarms as white noise. He’d heard them so often, he barely registered them beyond their purpose anymore. Even within an alternate reality.

But they did have a purpose; the site was under attack. Not exactly the greatest concern to him, considering his situation and everything, but he still knew his protocol and followed it. It was as he was making his way out that he caught sight of the situation.

A quick look told him basically everything he needed to know; one person in insurgent uniform, another with the foundation logo on them, and a gun held by the former as words Jack couldn’t hear were exchanged. And that was all the information he needed to make a decision.

His own gun had been in his hands since the alarms first started, but it was lessons learned long ago in an old wheat field with empty cans lined up on a fence that brought it up and swiftly lined up the sights. The others barely had time to notice him before his shot rang out and struck true.

It was only after the lifeless body hit the floor that he had a moment to fully take in the scene, and finally realise who the other party was. His face immediately soured, a storm of feelings churning in his stomach as he finally registered the presence of one o5-12, otherwise known as Adam. Of all the people to see…

He turned away with a sneer. Of course things just had to go and be more complicated. Not that he regretted taking the shot, but…the mental image of this Adam and his own crossed over and blended in his mind, making him shake his head in disgust. He stepped over the fallen insurgent and continued on his way, not stopping to listen if the overseer had anything to say.

He’d just been following protocol.

Your interpretation of dado is so good! I was not aware of dado when I originally joined the SCP Fandom and your interpretation was the first one that I saw before even any of the originals and it is still my absolute favorite!

Summary

This blog follows a pre-foundation and pre-council O5 Council. The SCP Foundation doesn’t quite exist yet, instead starting as a group of anomalous entity/object enthusiasts with the goal of research into what they call the ‘unnatural philosophies’.

I don't know if you've been asked this but just in case - how did the set up of your council happen? What kind of thoughts went into choosing your muse/s and their colleagues? Did you have anything specific in mind while deciding on who would be included or was it a heat of the moment decision? :>

I will be fully honest, this entire blog was made very impulsively, so the same applies to the set-up of the Council - I picked the Overseers who I liked conceptually, accidentally mixed a few things up (I had He Who Waits in mind when deciding on The Archivist for Two, for example, hence why he does not match up with the dossier at all, and I also mixed up the Sixes as I initially wanted The Puppet to have been recently terminated but confused their name with The Figurehead aksksk), and here we are today lmao

I did put more planning in a bit later on, though; I knew pretty much from the beginning that I wanted The All-seeing Eye to eventually become a side muse, though that didn't happen as I planned and the concept of Three being a calm mediator and mentor was swiftly thrown out of the window [/lh]. And only when Eight became a regular muse as well did I start to work out his by now (hopefully) relatively complex character beyond things that were supposed to just be mentioned off-handedly.

Funfact - before Eight became a muse but after the first actual planning began, I wanted to have him assassinated behind-the-scenes towards the end of this year, as the Council was planned to be somewhat unstable internally, which is more low-key now and generally shown through their sometimes rather chaotic nature! My love for his dynamic with Mod Toacho's Experimeter really saved Eight's life [/hj /lh]

Either way - this was also the point in time (as in, Eight becoming a muse) where I actively decided to mix the Overseers together, in a way - combining Dogwood (military/task forces, connection to The Lesser, connection to O5-10, and 'falling star due to internal drama' theme) and Green (long-term member, close relationship with the staff, experimental and anomalous weapon development), splitting The All-seeing Eye and The Kid into distinctly different, but tightly connected individuals, working out what exactly I wanted to do with Eve and Tamlin (both will become very important at some point in the future! >;) ), and so on. Many things are still just me going with what feels right in the moment, but at least I have a bit of a plan by now! /lh

As for Seven specifically, as mentioned above, the Council was pretty much build around her from a meta perspective, though no greater thoughts went into it at the time. The only 'pre-set' dynamics I had in mind were with Eleven and somewhat with Three, meaning here, too, things kind of just developed as the blog progressed, which I like quite a bit, in a way! The dynamics feel somewhat more natural when they weren't preplanned! :>

TL;DR - most things were pretty impulsively decided upon and properly fleshed out later!
