"Go Tobann" by Ailsha is a massive fan favourite, and yeah right that song damn is, but I have a feeling that if chosen, then it might just not do as well as it sets out to. The song's production is noisy, with a lot of processing or overfiltering not making me understand what's going on very well; I mean yeah it's epic and all that but there's just too much happening all at once, in a song that's 2:24 minutes.
I would like to not have it fail because of trying something different than usual (a la Germany last year), but I don't have my hopes up 100% high.
I'd be still not minding it winning the Irish NF. My favourite is "Let Me Be the Fire" by Isabella Kearney, but I stand for Ireland trying.
Don’t be fooled by the appearances, this isn’t Marco Bengoni, just a fanart inspired by his performance on stage during the Grand Final except with some other bearded and tattooed queer western coast italian guy in his 30´s with a first name that starts with « Marc » and ends with « -o »
Just,,
Totally different I swear, we're talking GTA Roleplaying here
Clip of the guy singing in his native language just because I can
I don't get why people are saying this year is a weak one.
I mean, there are very few songs that got me completely obsessed, but a lot of good songs that certainly have something.
And that's actually what I like about this year. I've seen so many different rankings and I don't agree with most of them, but I get where they are coming from.
this!!! like I was thinking the other day of, if I get to go to a paramore concert in other country I should bring a spanish flag so they could see where I'm from, but immediately that thought was discarded because it would be just extremely weird for me? and discomforting? idk i'd rather bring a madrid flag even if no one would recognize it
omg your tags on the reblog of my post - that's word for word how i feel and i HATE it, things have felt artificial to me since 1989, reputation was better but ever since lover it's felt like that 1000x more idk.. it just sucks but yeah you're not the only one feeling that way :')
THANK YOU! It's really nice to see that someone else has been feeling this way and I really begun to think deeply into why I feel like this. And you're right, it has really been since rep that it has felt... idk, less authentic.
I remember during the red and 1989 era, taylor was doing a lot of shit that actually showed how much she loved us. And by all means, she didn't have to, but it was little things such as the hidden notes in her album lyric books that made me feel a bit more connected to her. Not to mention stuff like swiftmas, the secret sessions and of course t-party all made us feel like one big family and that she was actually thankful for us. She didn't gain anything out of this, it was all "for the fans" and it made being a swiftie loads of fun, especially those hidden messages, which lbr costed nothing to keep doing. (1989 was her last i think)
Nowadays, when she does it, it feels more calculated and less authentic and I get maybe it's a safety thing that she can't do secret sessions and swiftmas etc anymore, but now even when she does things for the fans, it's stuff like releasing loads of versions of the one album so we all buy it (see, the midnight clock), and because we have this relationship we built up with her, we feel we owe our loyalty. It feels like she does these things to show she cares, but she wants our money in return. And believe me, there's other ways you can show it. The wiping of her social media defs slightly killed her authenticity, I think. Even though I understand why she did it, it certainly didnt help her relationship with the fans or it's authenticity. I do believe she still is thankful for us, but I can't help but notice the business aspect creeping in, and I just wish a lot of swifties knew you don't have to buy in to it. She's human, she has flaws, you don't have to always defend her, or buy her merch. It's almost business at this point, and I hate it.
I hate it. And I hate it more because I almost understand why its like this.
rolling stone's list of top 500 albums of all time etc and lists like it are subjective and i do get that and i'm not gonna be like well MY favourite album is not on here so this is a bad list but only 2 of the albums on the version i saw were not in english (that i could tell) and like. ok. i get that not everyone has the same musical interests as i do and it's not like i'm expecting everyone to listen to all music before making that kind of thing but. i feel like people can overlook stuff so easily just because we don't get very much exposure to non-anglophone music (in anglophone countries that is but i'm mainly looking at you us/uk) and so much of it is so so good and again i know it's subjective but is your list really the greatest of all time if it only includes 2 albums from non-anglophone artists
Lmao on that post where the person is like "europeans need to admit they can suck too without joking about children dying in america" a bunch of people are like "yeah maybe i suck sometimes but americans shoot each other so ha ha!"
I think they think OP is an American but they aren't. They're from south asia so like. People directly harmed by ALL of our countries fucking meddling. And they're essentially saying "if you guys can't take a joke without laughing about the death of children how tf are you gonna confront the actual problems in your country"
And the answer all these europeans gave was "we won't". Like I'm not surprised bc we are all white people here (not seen a single poc pull this shit) and we all know how fucking defensive we get when faced with a single ounce of not being treated like the Perfect Specialest Winners. Americans do this ra ra usa shit all the time too. But I think their is a higher number of white americans who like. Pay attention to the effects of colonialism bc we have to face more people affected by it in our day to day (in general) than a swede who only remembered Syria existed starting like 2014. There are studies that simply being around more people different than you can make it easier to relate to them, so no one's surprised when a white American from a small town filled w only white people is ignorant or racist.
The only thing here is that same white person from a similarly diverse area in Northern Europe points and titters at the white American like "oh ho ho racism! Look at what those stupid americans are doing!" As if there aren't Romani people living in their own country them actively being discriminated against and losing their rights. As if there is no anti black racism in their community when they have a little blackface parade with the local blackface character.
And if you call them on it they're like "ha ha children are dying in your country!"
