You don’t have to read it, I could care less about whether you do or not, and only replied with it to you because I’m not wasting my time repeating something I’ve already written.

It wasn’t written to you, it was written to the person on the post asking me politely for my reasoning on abusive fiction portrayed positively and the influence it has on reality.

By all means, don’t bother reading something that counters your view and risk realizing there’s a reason people see things differently than you.

If you actually bothered looking at the post, you’d see I had 12 arguments in all, and one that included explaining my abuse story, so don’t you dare call the act of abuse victims coming forth about their abuse “pity stories.” It’s insulting, shameful, and our voices being heard are SO much more important than your ship. If you call us coming forth about how our abusers groomed us with the kind of content you consume and publicly support “pity parties”, then that just goes to show how much you value a fictional ship over real people. We are more important than the entertainment you get from getting off to an underage teen being sexually preyed on by a man in his fifties.

Do not act like me caring about making sure what happened to us doesn’t happen to other people is me just acting like I’m the only one that’s had something bad happen to them when the whole reason I speak out about this is because I care about making sure others don’t have to go through the bullshit I did. Do not act like I only care about myself when you’re the one wanting to consume fictional underage porn between a minor and an adult without conflict and valuing that over real people being harmed by it.

@mycatromance I replied to your comment with as much respect as you showed me, I linked a post with explanations, credentials, and sources on why publicly supporting fictional abuse portrayed positively is harmful, and you replied just to state you weren’t going to read it, and thank me for writing it to you when it wasn’t even written for you, only to make a post about me coming forth about my abuse being a pity party, while claiming I am acting like bad things only happen to me despite the fact the whole reason I’m an anti is to make sure the things that happened to me and those like me doesn’t occur to other people, and then instead of countering anything I said you just blocked me.

Fandoms have made it a norm to value fictional ships over the abuse victims speaking out about those types of ships that have been used to groom them, and while all shippers may not be like that, much too many are.

Stop valuing abusive ships being portrayed positively over real abuse survivors.

Honestly, sometimes the only thing that gets through to these people is bringing up how disappointed their favorite characters would be in them getting off to things like a teenage boy who’s a minor being sexually preyed on by a man in his fifties.

@mycatromance I’m assuming you blocked me since I can’t tag you, or maybe Tumblr mobil is just acting up.

In any case, yes, I have spent a lot of time on this, because this is something that negatively influenced me, and it’s something that negatively influences others, and I care about that, and there is nothing wrong in caring about that, particularly when I have a career and degree in adolescent psychology on this stuff.

You’re telling me to leave people alone when the person this was directed at invalidated my abuse after I told them I’d been influenced by fiction and groomed into a relationship that resulted in me becoming a victim of CSA by turning around and saying reality can’t be influenced by fiction despite me explaining how mine was. If they wanted to debate how many people it influenced, or how strong that influence was, that would have been one thing, but it was another to just say it’s not real and imply the grooming methods my abuser used on me wasn’t real.

I’m not the one you should be telling to leave people alone, particularly when it was this person that commented on my post in the first place.

Maybe they didn’t mean to invalidate my abuse, but they did, and I’m not going to keep quiet about that so they can feel comfortable about shipping something which fetishizes the abuse I and others like me have gone through.

I’m not going to keep repeating myself on how fiction influences reality, so you’re more than free to just look at the debate in the link below.
