Alright long awaited re-introduction of my ghoul oc Usva! A lot of text below the cut ✨

Biggest thank you to @batcadillac for this drawing of them and helping me to figure out their lore!

(Finnish name, means mist)

🫧 Pronouns: they/them

🫧 Species: Ghoul

🫧 Element: water/quintessence

🫧 Nationality/origin: Finnish

🫧 Age: 150

🫧 Birthday: Nov 7

🫧 Zodiac: Scorpio

🫧 Sexuality: Pan/Poly

🫧 Occupation: Vocal coach + keeps Papa’s and the band ghouls’ voices sounding good and healthy on tour. Piercer&tattooer of the ghouls.

🫧 Arrived at the Abbey: Terzo’s era, before Popestar tour

🫧 Hobbies: Reading, singing, swimming.

🫧 Beliefs/religion: Certain water ghoul traditions. For example certain songs to sings at certain times/events.

🫧 Special abilities/skills: Usva can bloodbend. They discovered that AND their quintessence while running away from the pack of ghouls that attacked them.

Siren charm that they can use to charm speak, to get others to do what they want. Mainly used this in the pit to get others share their food and clothes etc.

🫧 Height: 152cm

🫧 Scent: Crispy apples, petrichor and a tiniest bit of lavender

🫧 Pets: A black cat named Cataria that they found on the abbey grounds.

🫧 Appearance:

Horns: small white ones (they’re insecure about them being so small)

Eyes: one purple, one pearlescent/silver, (black scleras and irises in those colors)

Hair: Black, shaggy mullet going until shoulder blades

Ears: typical pointy ghoul ears

Skin: Grey (purple blush)

Build: Slim (kinda like Dew but much more ass)

Other: Bioluminescent markings (scars also glow) that glow brightly when using their powers. (Spots along the spine and collar bones)

Finns on the tail, spade like tip and webbed fingers (usually glamoured away bc they get dry) A retractable back fin/spiky spine.

Horns and tail very sensitive.

Gills on the neck (other side is damaged.)

Very creature like mannerisms.

Top surgery scars.

Likes to wear a basic smokey eye makeup look.

Has and amethyst pendant on always given to them by their mate Oak.

🫧Communication:

English, Finnish (mostly curse words), Cat like sounds (purring, hissing, ek ek ek, chirps, trills)

Backstory:

For the first years of their life Usva lived happily in the water ghoul territory in the Pit with their parents Kuu (father) and Taika (mother). When they were 8 two mysterious ghouls broke into their den, the other one killed Usva’s father and would’ve probably killed Usva and their mother too unless it’s companion didn’t stop it. Later Usva’s mother passed from the heartbreak of losing a mate. But not before teaching Usva the traditional water ghoul mourning rituals.

Poor kit Usva tried their hardest to nurse their mother back to health.

Usva spent their formative years alone, nearly feral in the pit. Their siren charm helping them to get food and scrap clothing from other ghouls. They learned to be sneaky and quiet, letting basic instincts to take over.

One day they wandered too far from the water ghoul territory and ran into a pack of rogue fire ghouls. The fire ghouls started a hunt that lasted for days until Usva ran out of energy and got caught. The fire ghouls pinned them down and one of them swiped it’s fiery claws through their left gills, leaving them permanently damaged.

The pain, fear and shock caused their hidden quintessence and blood bending abilities to surface, killing the fire ghouls.

Usva scrambled up still bleeding, they found a weak spot in the veil and went through. They ended up in the lake at the Abbey, for a while they just stood there until passing out from the bloodloss. Although not before laying their eyes on a pair of handsome ghouls walking near the lake.

After they were nursed back to health at the Abbey infirmary, they slowly started exploring the grounds. At first they were very skittish and many times ended up hiding in the lake. The quintessence ghouls in the infirmary were assigned with training Usva with their quintessence, since Terzo wanted them along for the Popestar tour.

Usva has many friends in the Abbey and after some time they fell in love with two ghouls, Oak and Vapor, who luckily also turned out to be their mates. Year later the three have three lovely kits together and Usva couldn’t be happier with their life!

working on a new fella

he's old as balls and has two kids. one of the original fallen to be fully corrupted and had a bit of a rocky start relearning his magic because it got corrupted, too

was astral(light, naturally healing) quintessence that became twisted into umbral(vicious, poison to the mind of the target if used for harm, potentially healing when wielded by a skilled practitioner) quintessence, and required intensive care to practice safely. one of the first times went poorly and his magic lashed out, leaving a swath of damage so deep that it was unable to be undone. he healed like a human, over the course of months, and did eventually regain sight in his left eye

he's a good dad and is affection starved :')

Four thought the stoic ghoul might need a few flowers as decoration. He also added matching band-aids after ‘helping’ Oz out on the clinic for the afternoon. Probably much more of a distraction than a help, but a well-meaning one. 

He managed to pry the tiniest smile out of him in the end.

I was gonna draw all my ghoul ocs together but there isn't exactly space so I might try it again at some point but anyway this is Ocean and Leaf unmasked! Or at least a concept version because I really don't know I was just sketching ideas I got a while back.

Probably gonna change Ocean's tail spade but Idk what to do with it yet.

Made some ghoul OCs

Drizzle. Rain's child. They're a water ghoul, and a punky sweetheart. Nobody knows just how Rain acquired them, and neither Rain nor Drizzle have ever elaborated on it.

Blaze. A fire ghoul, who is bitchy, but I love her. Nobody knows whether she was spawned on earth, or summoned from Hell. She is loyal, but do NOT fuck with her EVER. She's kind of a sadist.

Breeze. An air ghoul, and also is of unknown origin. Pretty chill and zen, and can come off as a bit detached at times but is very caring. It takes a LOT to anger Breeze.

Branch. An earth ghoul, also of unknown origin. Very nice and down to earth (pun intended). Very friendly and patient, but WON'T tolerate bullies.

Aura. A quintessence ghoul, and Aether's daughter. Neither have stated who her mother is, and nobody is asking. She's pretty chill and level-headed, but also likes to have fun. Likes fancy things, for the ✨aesthetic✨.

Quick sketches of Aurelia out of her glamour. I had more but I’ve scrapped them for now because they aren’t quite there yet.

The scary thing about Aurelia’s true form is exactly what people love her for in her glamour, her strength. Strangers will see a pillar of smoke and assume it is harmless, but somehow that smoke has a physical form. It can grab you from the shadows and knock the air right out of you. Sometimes she likes to solidify parts of herself to better intimidate. Pale, soft hands that fade into deep black at the wrists. Dangerously sharp teeth that glint among the wisps of smoke like long splinters of glass. All while those unblinking white eyes stare you down. The glow of them so bright it’s like looking into twin suns that have been shrunken down and trapped within this ever shifting fog. It’s difficult to contain her true form once she gets out. It slips through the cracks of the Clergy’s magic like a gas leak. Aurelia doesn’t like scaring people much in this world, she’s learned how to care about others and now she feels guilty, a pathetically human thing to do. But in the pit where it’s her job, she flourishes. Terror comes naturally to her there, flattening against the ground and drifting towards lost souls to seize their ankles and drag them into their eternal torment. Feeding on their nightmares until someone new comes along.
