okay so I am a big multishipper and whatever ship I'm into varies by what fandom I'm in and how I'm feeling etc BUT I would have to say that Dick/Kory (Robin/Starfire) is probably my all time fave. I loved them so much as a kid and have continued to adore them as I've grown up and read more comics. everything about them is just right up my alley: the sun/moon motif, the height difference, the way that they're both so confident but can be soft and gentle with each other, everything. chefs kiss.

14. what’s a wip you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

....... listen. I'm gonna be honest. I want to finish all of them. but I don't know if I'll ever be able to make my brain work with me to do it tho

15. what are your writing strengths?

I can write a mental breakdown like nothing else babey 😌 just kidding, I think I'm pretty good at writing character dynamics, internal angst, dialogue (sometimes), smut (but pretty much only if there's little to no plot lmao), stuff like that

16. what are your writing weaknesses?

I really struggle with long fics. all the ones I've written were like lightning-strike moments of inspiration and muse cooperation. I try to plot them out and I can do that fine, but when it comes to actually writing... my brain just stalls out. sometimes fluff and humor fight with me and I lose lol. connecting plot to smut. speculation fics/codas/reaction to canon fics are also pretty hard for me

17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I don't speak enough of any other language to do it myself really. usually if I do do it, it's either not full sentences or I'll check with friends who I know actually speak whatever the language is to make sure it works

18. what was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

The Hunger Games lmfao. it was a fic about Finnick and Annie being separated at the 75th Reaping iirc, and I'm pretty sure I was like. 11 or 12 when I wrote it kjdshafj

oh my god this is too hard of a question kjdsafjk uhh I'll pick from just 2021's fics tho: my favorite is probably every shape, every curve (9-1-1) which is not one of my most popular fics BUT I have always wanted to write pegging and I really really enjoyed finally getting to do it. and for a non-smutty fic, shines so sincere (jily) is also one I really love. basically if it has an ace-spectrum character in it, I loved writing it lmfao

Alright. Now comes the doozy.

1.      What’s your preferred writing and reading genre?

Fantasy for both, though I like to read a lot of different genres

2.      What’s your favorite thing about your least favorite character?

Least favorite is tough. The character I’ve been having the hardest time writing recently is General Zhai from The God-Dragon’s Wife, mainly because I haven’t solidified her motivations yet, but if there’s one thing I know about her, it’s that she takes no shit. Which is very difficult for me, because she isn’t taking my shit either.

3.      What’s your least favorite thing about your favorite character?

Again with the favorites! Teconia is fun to write, but I feel bad about making bad things happen to her and making her sad. She gets sad a lot and then I feel guilty. Stop doing that.

4.      Which of your characters do you feel most indifferent towards? Why?

Right now, it’s Park. I don’t think we’d be friends if he was a real person (robot?) because our values are so misaligned, but he’s not a bad guy.

5.      Which of your projects means the most to you and why?

Firesoul, no doubt. It’s been an idea I’ve had since I first started writing, and the fact that I’ve been continuing to write it after all these years is a huge deal for me (i.e. a person who comes up with ideas and then abandons them forever)

6.      Is there a theme that can be found in all of your projects? Was it intentional or dd you realize after the event?

Usually there’s a theme of overcoming – whether that’s overcoming self, overcoming oppression, or overcoming adversity. I don’t do it intentionally, but I think it’s definitely informed by experiences in my life, so it would feel odd to not have it.

7.      What’s your favorite book to read? Does it have any similarities to your any of your writing projects?

The Inheritance Cycle is my favorite book series of all time and it absolutely informs my writing style. I’ve read the first book, Eragon, eight times, and seven of those times was before I turned 16. I’d be shocked if it didn’t.

8.      What have you learnt while writing that you hope everyone knows?

That I can write whatever I want, and someone will like it, even if it’s not the someone I thought would like it.

9.      What’s your biggest strength in writing?

Description, for sure.

10.  What about your weakness?

Too much description.

Seriously, though, it’s plot structure. I suck at that, and I’m awful at outlines.

11.  How many questions do you answer on character profile sheets when creating new characters?

I try to shoot for all of the ones that apply! But I don’t do a lot of character sheets so…

12.  What do you love most about your writing?

I love my worlds and settings. I pour blood, sweat, and tears into them, and I think it really pays off.

13.  What’s your favorite type of character to write?

Smart dumbasses, people who Can’t Handle Feelings, and people who Have Too Much Feelings. I have no middle ground.

14.  What inspires you to write?

Life. That’s probably the most cliché answer on the planet, but I’m very informed by the things I believe and the experiences I have. Even my horror pieces (short as they are) come from places of feeling helpless in my own life, struggling with an undiagnosed anxiety and panic disorder for most of my life.

15.  If you could talk to your protagonist, what advice would you give them?

I would gently hold Park’s metal robot face in my hands and tell him to Stop Taking All Responsibility For Everything. Good God. It’s not all about you, all the time.

I would tell Xinya that it’s okay to feel emotions sometimes. Yes, even that one.

I would tell Teconia that trusting people isn’t always a good thing.

I would tell Hayden that he is capable, no matter what he tells himself.

16.  If you had to do an escape room with one of your characters, who would you choose and why?

Park is a robot and therefore would be very logical about all possible solutions. This could either be a great thing or a terrible thing, but I’ll take my chances with the guy with a computer for a brain.

17.  How did you come up with the plot for your current wip(s)?

The God-Dragon’s Wife is inspired by a (perhaps not astoundingly written) fanfiction I read and said “Psh. I can do that.” That, and my deep held desire to marry a dragon.

Firesoul came to me at an audition for a role in my dance company’s annual Christmas show. I heard this epic, haunting music, and had a vision, essentially, of a scene from the book. Teconia herself is literally a D&D character that I liked so much I gave her a book.

Out of the Park is inspired from way back when I used to regularly play Overwatch, and my main, Zenyatta, had a skin release that was a baseball team. The rest is history/

Dragon Raising actually started as a novel that I never did anything with, because something always felt off about the delivery. When I took a comic writing class in college, everything clicked at once.

18.  What’s one line/paragraph you’ve written recently that you’re proud of?

This is from a submission for a prompt month in a fandom I’m in:

Yugi didn’t believe in ghosts. It was fun to think about, sure, but he’d never seen any “real” evidence to support the idea. His friend Ryou claimed otherwise, but they’d long since learned to agree to disagree on the subject. Of course, they were both partial to a good scare – his second favorite genre for anything was horror – and they could talk about the coolest ghost stories they’d heard for hours. Still, he had never latched on to the idea of the “soul persisting after death.” It was ridiculous, for a lot of reasons. The idea of a ghost in his house – in anyone’s house – was almost laughable.

But he didn’t have a lot of other ideas to explain this.

19.  Do you ever draw concept art for your writing?

I can’t draw, but if someone made me art of my WIPs, I would die LITERALLY for them.

20.  What do you like most about one of your protagonists and what do you like least about them?

Xinya is a powerful woman. She’s capable and smart and will kick your ass in chess. But she’s so emotionally constipated it’s actually painful for me.

Teconia is kind, strong even if she doesn’t know it yet, and loyal to her friends and family. But she refuses to use her strength until it’s too late, which is frustrating for a lot of reasons.

Park is a dumbass. This is both the reason I love and hate him.

Hayden can do remarkable things, but he never gives himself credit for them.

21.  What’s the setting of your current wip(s) and why did you choose it?

TGDW takes place in a fantasy Imperial China, which I chose because I am so sick of Fantasy Medieval Europe #4564

Firesoul takes place in Fantasy Medieval Europe #a billion, but I’m not romanticizing it. Teconia is the poorest of the poor, a racial minority, and has to keep her mage identity a secret to avoid persecution. You see exactly what that’s like in Ethallia for the average citizen, and it’s not pretty, unlike most fantasy settings where Everyone Is Good Except Our Evil King, Who Is Evil For Vague Magic Reasons.

OOTP is my personal idealized Future America, which means there is So Much Socialism. Everywhere.

Dragon Raising takes place in modern day Chicago, which I chose because wouldn’t it be hilarious if someone had to raise dragons in the middle of Chicago?

22.  What are some of your strengths that make you a good writer?

I pride myself on my description and world building, as I’m sure people have picked up by now, but I’ve also been told I’m good at writing character interactions. I’ll take it!

23.  Do you listen to music/have playlists to get you writing?

I’m one of those people who can’t write without music to block out the sounds of the real world. I don’t have any specific playlists for writing – I usually just shuffle my whole library.

24.  Who is the character that is least like you and why?

Personality wise, it’s between Park and Yu-Qi who are the least like me.

Park thinks he has to be the one to change the world – him and him alone – which is just. Come on man. Dismount from your high horse.

Yu-Qi is closer to being the opposite of me because of our similarities, ironically enough. She’s obsessive, possessive, and in a true dragon fashion, she hoards and hoards and hoards. These are qualities I share, but desperately afraid of.

25.  What is the maximum word count you are hoping for your project(s)?

Oh, this is a good question. I’ve never sat down and thought it out specifically, but I think a good novel length is 80k-200k words, so I’ll shoot for that!

26.  Do you write better in the day time or at night?

Night owl. I blame it on being born at 1:30am

27.  What are your OC(s) zodiac signs?

Well, considering only two of them exist in our star system, I’ll just guess!

28.  Where do you fall on the beige to purple prose spectrum?

My prose is indigo, man. I am so close to purple it’s unreal.

29.  Are you well read in the genre you hope to go into?

Absolutely! I’ve been reading fantasy since I was in first grade.

30.  What are your goals for your writing career?

I want to open people’s minds and make them think about stuff that they might not have otherwise thought about. And entertain them, of course.

31.  How comfortable are you with critical feedback?

PLEASE give me critical feedback, I’m begging you. My life has been plagued by minimal to no feedback on my writing and it’s so frustrating.

32.  Do you enjoy reading or writing romance?

Reading it: depends. Writing it: yes, but I’ve only just gotten into it!  

33.  Do you annotate your books?

Depends on the book. If I’ve read it enough times to quote direct lines, then yes. I’ll never annotate a new book.

Whether they’d like each other/get along would depends on at which point and in which way they’d meet, I guess! Middle school was a complicated period for both of them, so it really depends - a few examples of how it could go are

they meet cause they frequent the same middle school - that implies they meet during the first year, when Bakugou was still full on bully/cocky asshole. Kirishima probably wouldn’t like him much because of it, would try to fight him. Bakugou might find him annoying/get pissed at how he thinks himself good enough to fight him. Definitely wouldn’t get along at first, might change their minds as they get to know each other or just keep on having a shitty relationship forever. I find more beliavable the first, since they do have really compatible personalities, but Bakugou was really convinced of his position as above everyone else back then and Kirishima would have never let him act like he was better than him without putting up a fight, so maybe not. Might actually fuck up their relationship in highschool too, really

they frequent different middle school, but happen to see each other outside of school before the sludge incident - if they were to meet cause Kirishima got in the middle of Bakugou bullying Deku, not much would change from option one. But if they were to meet for unrelated reasons, they could get along - Kirishima might think Bakugou manly, Bakugou might appreciate Kirishima’s guts (as long as Kiri doesn’t try to fight him). At first the relationship would definitely be unbalanced, because Kirishima would have no way of proving to Bakugou he’s at his same level since he wouldn’t be, but with time this might change. I can see Kirishima throwing himself at random bullies and Bakugou sighing and sometimes waiting for Kirishima to get his ass beat so maybe he’ll learn while other times lazily strolling up till he’s standing next to Kirishima to scare the bullies away. Bakugou’s... Bakugouness might do something to Kirishima’s self-esteem and could have him have his breakdown sooner, but by that point Bakugou might like him enough to do something about it. Or not. He’s still a cocky and self-centered ass at this point, after all. Kirishima’s presence might help with his bullying habit. Or not. Again, still an egoistical and egocentrical fucker at that point. Worse comes to worst, their relationship starts becoming more equal after the sludge incident/kiri seeing gigantomachia

Bakugou at this point is questioning if he’s actually as strong as he always assumed he was, starting to feel like he needs to prove his worth to the world and himself, while Kirishima is still convinced he’s plain and weak, too scared to actually voice his dreams, but still tries to do his best and help those in need in front of him. If they were to meet at this point, Bakugou might actually find something to admire in Kirishima, find strength in him even - with the down-to-earth optimism and practical positivity, aware of reality but working to fix what he can, not letting circumstances and defeats bring him down. It might help Bakugou put into perspective the sludge incident, instead of just dwelling on it till it became a bomb ready to explode. Kiri would find Bakugou manly and cool, just like in canon, and they’d be able to build a relationship on equal grounds - Kirishima might even open up to him about how he wishes to try for UA, but he’s nearly sure he’s gonna fail. Bakugou might tell him that as he is right now he’s gonna fail for sure. He might also tell him that a quirk is like a muscle, and muscles get stronger if you train them, so just fucking stop wasting time and train yourself till your quirk is worth something, for fuck sake. By the time the event of Kiri’s backstory roll around, Bakugou might actually be there to hold Kirishima up and not let him go through it by himself. I dunno about crushes, but I do love this scenario and the relationship they’d end up having because of it

they frequent different schools, meet after Kirishima’s meeting with gigantomachia - there wouldn’t be many differences compared to the canon version of their meeting, I think. Bakugou might be a little more subdued, maybe, but generally it’d be the same.

these are just real general cathegories, depending on how the meeting unfolds anything might happen so really, who knows - there’s too many possibilities to be sure of anything, really haha

Yah I think so. Like, not all nicknames, like “honey” probably never or “sweetheart” highly umprobable, but babe or gorgeous/handsome/beautiful or love, I can see him using those! Mostly cause Mitsuki’s personality was obviously based on Bakugou and she calls Masaru “dear”, so I think Bakugou does have the... predisposition for it, let’s say it like that haha he might more whisper them/keep them private, but I do think he’d use them~

how did you find out about rp?

This is it, my comic villain origin story... lmao I was on the MySpace homepage one day (you youngins’ don’t remember but it was very popular in 2006) and I think it was like a ‘most popular users’ or ‘users online right now’ thing on the page, but I saw a profile that said “Parvati Patel” and my little 12 year old brain was like ?? ? as in the character from Harry Potter? So I clicked on it and was quickly introduced to roleplaying! I caught onto what it was pretty quick, but I didn’t realize how it really worked, so I wanted to try it and then I made a bunch of Harry Potter roleplay profiles? Like Harry, Ron, Hermione, their kids that I made up the names of lmao, but I put their hometown info as my actual hometown (which is a pretty prolific civil war town) and I gave one of the kids the same name as this girl in my school who had a very unique name so like, if you searched for her name on myspace, you would get both her profile and my fake character lmao, and the hometown info said our hometown so it was clear it was someone that knew her. 

The most embarrassing part is that I didn’t understand that when you were roleplaying, you were actually roleplaying with other people, I thought you wrote back and forth with just yourself lmfao, so basically I would sign onto Ron and write “omg I love you honey” or some 2006 equivalent on Hermione’s page, and then sign onto Hermione’s page and write in Ron’s comments “omg I love you too!!”. Pretty quickly after that I realized that you were supposed to interact with other people, not yourself lmao, so I made a Hermione page and then went on to this Victoria Justice fc named Jalen lolol. At the time, I did what we called back then “one-liner” which was just like, talking to each other as if you were talking ooc? I think it’s similar to bandom rp or twitter rp on here now, but idk much about that since I’m strictly tumblr. Anyways, we would have our profile name as like “Jalen Granger *Sister of Hermione *Single and Looking *Adopting Maia” and there was no like, actual writing. My second character ever was a The Outsiders Two-Bit Matthews sibling OC, back then sibling OCs were extremely popular, and we used to have things in our rules like “don’t write a starter where your character bumps into mine on the street, have more originality than that!!” and stuff, it was super serious business.

Eventually I grew tired of that and more interested in actual writing after meeting some friends in the Outsiders rp community as small as it was that were actually writing stuff instead of hanging out, so I became what we called a “novella” or “multi-para” writer, which is basically what we do now in this group! I stayed on MySpace for a long time, did a bit of forum rp, and then MySpace was sold and turned into more of a music website so for awhile I didn’t rp when I moved to Arizona and started high school soon after until I found out about roleplayer.me, where I continued roleplaying on and off for a few more years.

Around May 2015, I was playing a Devon Bostick fc zombie verse oc on rp.me and I was looking in his tumblr tag for something, I think a gif for an hc, and then I noticed this little roleplay group (I was aware of rp on tumblr for awhile but I was too nervous and a little stand offish about it, like I held out for a really long time to make the switch lol) in his tag called “hellstaterp” and it was an ask, at the time hs was appless shout out if you remember that, and Luna I believe had just accepted a Devon Bostick fc. I was a little curious and went onto that blog, the theme was red and I really liked the detail put into it and the fun choice of Cheyenne, Wyoming as the setting, so I sent an ask to the main asking if they were accepting to new rpers to tumblr, and Luna said yes and that everyone would be willing to help me out if I needed it! I came up with an Olivia Cooke fc as Devon was just applied for and the rest is history! Funny thing, that Devon fc never sent in their account lmao.
