As you start your search for a photographer, here are the three most important things to look out for. 

STYLE 

It’s easy for a wedding photographer to impress you by showing you a slideshow of their top 25 to 30 wedding photos but this isn’t going to give you a good enough idea of what you can expect overall. A better approach is to ask to see a variety of shots from different parts of a wedding so that you know exactly what you can expect. You’ll want to have a look through everything from the getting ready and detail shots to the ceremony, toasts and reception shots. Wedding photography styles that you’ll typically come across include artistic, dramatic, lifestyle and classic so take the time to browse through some shoots that fit into those various categories to find out what works best for you as a couple and whether the photographer you had in mind can offer you those types of shots.

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved bobcat, Tiger. The Animal Care staff noticed he was behaving abnormally so he was promptly taken to the vet. They found a massive internal tumor causing organ failure over the weekend. This amazing bobcat will be deeply missed.

Nothing Unexpected !

Nothing is ever unexpected when it comes to Modeling.  Nothing is ever expected from the start.  The technicality, the futuristic expression, the emotions associated with what seems like a few clicks on a computer, a drum beat, and a voice.  But really nothing is ever expected with Modeling- if one was to try to lock down the experiences brought by this band, they’d be at a loss for words.  Still in a daze from the perfectly whelming orchestra that the three brothers put together for us. 

The first time I saw Modeling was a chilly night, on an outdoor stage at a small bar.  Never heard them before I was completely unsure of what I was about to witness from these mysterious performers.  Each dressed in a black trench coat, walking around and preparing themselves for their performance.  Through more research one can clearly see their carefully curated social media that adds to their modern yet innovative music style and aesthetic.  Once Modeling gets to performing, their listeners are locked into a wonderfully produced show.  Mesmerized by their ability to perform, sing, play, and run sound simultaneously, it is not done by local bands in North West Arkansas.  As I sat at a picnic-style table listening to Modeling for the first time it was a challenge for me to figure out what was happening.  I was mesmerized by the sounds materializing from the stage speakers I couldn’t even remember, nor cared, that I was freezing.  Leaving during the middle of their performance was not an option for me.  

When one gets to view Modeling’s performance, you get to see much more than musical aspects.  It’s clearly more than just a “band” to these brothers- it’s a lifestyle! Each move is done with such precise thought, talent oozing from their fingertips.  Their production was intriguing in all aspects.  Unlike anything I had seen before, they faced away from each other- instead of connecting through their looks like most musicians, they find balance and connection within the music.  They know themselves and their instruments so well they can rely on each other to change tempo or transition at each needed moment.  Not only did they astound the crowd with their polyphonic creation, but they also astounded us with their technical capabilities.  Using some of the most futuristic-looking instruments that one has seen, Modeling incorporated so many different musical components, it was hard to imagine it was done by just these three talented artists.  

Their introspective electronic style is easily adaptable to possible venues.  It is detailed and textured enough to allow yourself to endure the nostalgia that it brings up, but also dreamy allowing one to get lost in movement on a dance floor.  The second time I saw Modeling was at a release event, at a community space called Likewise (pictured above).  Projections cast over the brothers and the crowd of supportive young adults stood in awe around them.  Each concertgoer found it hard to keep their body free of movement.  With the stunning visual arts and the haziness of the lead singer’s voice dubbed over the keyboards bleeding instrumentals, it became very much like a trance state of mind- allowing the listeners to feel the intensely detailed composures within the vibrations of their body.  

Since their show at Likewise, the music lovers of Fayetteville have been looking forward to the release of their first self-produced album set to release in early spring of 2022.  In the meanwhile, they have been performing across North West Arkansas and preparing for their upcoming reveal.

This is my review on #googlemaps for @bestfriendsanimalsociety in #bentonvillearkansas If you haven’t been there, you are really missing out! I posted over 60 photos on Google Maps so check it out! “The Best Friends Animal Society is an interactive, educational, community hub for learning about animals. fostering caring skills as well as placing them in loving homes. I visited the center to donate some toys for the animals, soon to be someone’s pets I hope, and was beyond impressed! This modern, spotless, upscale “animal shelter” looks like a decadent pet spa. But make no mistake, the animals inside this no kill facility are in desperate need of homes. The staff greet you with friendly smiles and are more than willing to give you a tour of the multi level, glass window buildings with eduction rooms, craft volunteer tables, art structures- you really have to see it to believe it! There’s even a coffee and pastry shop as well as little gift store area! And ALL of this is to benefit the animals. A large enclosed outdoor play area for the dogs to romp is so nice. I saw staff playing with two Great Pyrenees. There aren’t traditional cages, but indoor air conditioned glass walled enclosures. And the cat area had little bubbles for them to roost. Visit as soon as you can and pick up your new best friend. 5 Simple Tips to Help Take the Stress Out of Planning a Wedding

1. LEARN TO SAY NO

Planning a wedding is exciting and fun but it can also be one of the busiest times of your life. If you don’t want to end up being a nervous wreck a week before your big day, learn to prioritize and say no to any new commitments that would take away from other important wedding-related tasks. It’s really ok to say no every now and then.

2. BECOME THE QUEEN OF ORGANIZATION

The more organized you are, the better your wedding planning experience will be. Keep a digital copy of all of your important documents, contracts and information in one file on your computer so that you can easily refer back to them when you need to. If you want to be able to bring important documents along to meetings with vendors, you can always create a wedding binder that contains all of the information you need. Plus it makes for a great backup copy too.

3. HAVE A LITTLE FUN

There’s no need for you to be a frazzled bride. Take out your calendar and schedule a few fun days in-between all of your planning. Make fun and laughter a priority in the weeks leading up to your wedding. Sometimes it’s important to come back down to earth and remember why you’re choosing to marry your partner and that trying to control every single aspect of your day is only going to leave you wishing it was over. Go out and enjoy an afternoon with the girls where you don’t talk about the wedding at all.

4. MOVE YOUR BODY

Exercise does wonders when you’ve got a lot on your plate and just need to take a breather and focus on your health. This doesn’t mean that you need to schedule in an hour at the gym every day either. If you’re strapped for time, a simple 15-20 minute walk or yoga session will make all the difference to your stress and energy levels.

5. JUST BREATH

Take a complete timeout from wedding planning as often as you need to. Every bride deserves a relaxing soak in the tub or a heavenly hot stone massage to relieve some of the tension she might be feeling. It can be difficult to make time to simply relax but do your best to find the time, even if it’s just 30 minutes a week.
