does anyone have recs for mineral sunscreens that feel kind of lightweight? i have the australian gold one but it feels really thick on my face which i do not enjoy so i'm looking for one that i can more easily convince myself to actually use every day

there's something so special about heartstopper in like, the timing of the show. i'm so used to love stories, especially queer ones, having the characters get together at the very end, in the last episode, and they actually don't do that!! we still have conflict, but it's not with the relationship itself, it's with the characters and their personal mental illnesses and such. and like, there is pining, but we don't have to hope desperately for a season two to see the couple actually be happy on screen!
there was also the plot line with Imogen, which i was really expecting to be taken in the stereotypical "queer guy gets in relationship with girl to repress his feelings route", to like, create more conflict. tbh, i was watching just waiting for that to happen, because i'm so used to media that dramatizes the queer experience and always needs to make it as painful as possible, and then it didn't go there!! which was such a relief.
like, part of why Nick's story felt so real to me was because any scene where he was upset about realizing he was queer felt real to the actual queer experience. he's crying because he knows how the world sees queer people, and knows that he's gonna be treated differently, or he'a crying because everything he knew about himself is changing. which idk, felt very real to me?? like, you could tell that the author is queer in the Best Way, it all felt so relatable??
idk, i just really loved the show. more queer people telling queer stories for queer people please!! no more queer stories for straight audiences.

I cannae tell if I’m getting sick or if I’ve just lost my voice and feel crappy because I was cheering/screaming a lot last night post musical performance. 😐 I guess I am due for my typical fall time cold/flu, but also. I cannot tell.

Wow. It’s been so long since I looked in my drafts folder, that I have an incomplete, unposted 2020 fic wrap up...

I can't believe Ngozi is reposting Check Please to Webtoons as weekly episodes. We're really gonna relive the entire comic run, revisit the complete spectrum of discourse. This is our Dracula Daily.

Watching a production of the teen version of Heathers and god bless these kids. They're talented as hell, don't get me wrong, but I have never felt more personally violated than watching "You're Welcome."
I think I understand why people don't like the teen edition...

RUH ROH IRL SHIT RANT INCOMING feel free to ignore
someone in my grandma's neighborhood called the OFFICE on us because apparently there are "too many people" living in our house, according to that neighbor, which ???? there are 4 people living in 4 bedrooms. my aunt was living here, but she got evicted (she is also, we think, the reason the office got called, which pisses me off but not for the reasons you might think).
like yeah, it's partially on us for not realising we needed to apply to live in the house, but my grandparents OWN the house? it's just that they don't own the lot that the house is on, does that make sense, it's like a community where you can buy the house and pay a lot rent, ANYWAY
MY DAD HAS BEEN LIVING HERE FOR LITERALLY A YEAR AND A HALF and he was NEVER asked to fill out an application or anything, never had any trouble or anything at all.
AND NOW I'M NERVOUS!!!! because I'm unemployed, which doesn't look good on the application, and we had to break the lease with our last landlord because my mom's new job across the country started 2 months before the lease was up (but it was an entirely amicable thing, they knew that we were leaving and we weren't charged for it or anything, not to mention they immediately re-rented the apartment out so it wasn't a loss for them). I'm just terrified that my application will get declined or something and I'll have nowhere to go.
it's also made me EXTRAORDINARILY wary of all of our neighbors. like idk who made the call, but now i just flat out don't trust any of these people, and even though it probably wasn't my fault I feel like it was my fault that the call was made, since I was the one who moved in most recently, and I brought a car with me. it's made me kind of bitter, too, because like, if it WAS my aunt that got them to call the office then it should've been the POLICE they called, not the fucking landlords, because it was obvious that she was having a mental health crisis, and what the fuck kind of person can see/hear somebody clearly in distress and their first move isn't "let me call someone who can potentially help them", it's "let me call the front office to make a complaint". like i get that people don't understand every bit of a situation, obviously, but jesus.
