These kids helped me put together 25 freezer meals, so I won’t need to think about dinner again until late February. I’m grateful to have such enthusiastic and cheerful kitchen helpers. Don’t be fooled by Dan’s tears. 😭 Those were all the onions’ fault. #onceamonthcooking #stockthefreezer #hardworkers https://www.instagram.com/p/CKU-oeRlTKB/?igshid=iva2eavv2gtf

Once-A-Month-Cooking: How to Make Your Plan Work
Once-A-Month-Cooking: How to Make Your Plan Work
[ad_1] As one of the oldest children in a family of nine, I know that cooking for a crowd can almost be a full-time job. Once-a-month-cooking has been a lifesaver for our family. In the beginning though, when we first heard of cooking 30 meals in one day, it sounded rather impossible. The problem with online recipes
I can't be the only one to have tried recipes found online and found them bland or unsuitable for my tastebuds. This seems especially common with American recipes. When they have been converted to weights (the preferred method of cooking in the UK) and ingredients confirmed (baking soda for bicarbonate of soda, cilantro for coriander etc) they are often rather flavourless for the nation whose obsession with biscuits is well known.
This was brought home to me this month. I spent several hours cooking recipes such as Salted Chocolate Nutella Cookies, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Lemon and Coconut Muffins. All of these were bland and featured no spice other than vanilla.
As a result I intend on working through the recipes I have within my collection and working out their suitability for freezing.
