Posted @withregram • @voguearabia Georges Hobeika revealed the maison’s first couture collection dedicated to Beirut today to the strains of Umm Kulthum. As Tunisian Vogue Arabia cover star Myriam Boukadida opened the show, it was evident that co-creative directors Georges and Jad Hobeika paid homage to its glamorous Sixties era. Some surrealist notions included the coffee cup reimagined as an earring with café grains worked into prints and motifs across dresses. Tapestries and rugs were wrapped around models’ bodies while childhood memories such as backgammon boards and garden elements appeared in delicate embroideries for an artisanal choreography akin to an Oriental dance.

Najnowsza kolekcja couture Marii Grazii Chiuri dla Diora została zainspirowana postacią Josephine Baker. Paleta kolorów jest oszczędna – czarno-biała z odrobiną srebra i zieleni a kolekcja wykazuje kunszt rzemiosła domu za pomocą konstrukcji ubiorów. W kolekcji mamy strukturyzowane blezery, quasi-gorsetowe sukienki, smukłe płaszcze. Jest ona nasycona kobiecymi akcentami – kwiecistymi aplikacjami na przezroczystych topach, bufiastymi rękawami, frędzlami flapperek. Długa czarna jedwabna sukienka i fioletowa aksamitna suknia nawiązują do stylu Baker i epoki jazzu.
Na pokazie obecna była m.in. ambasadorka marki Yara Shahidi, Anya-Taylor Joy i Jisoo z Blackpink. We front row zasiadły także Rachel Zegler, Kirsten Dunst i Elizabeth Debicki. Źródło: Dior. Muzyka: Adorian
