I, @Lusin333, have a 22TB Seagate IronWolf Pro hard drive (ST22000NT001).
22TB is the largest size hard drive currently available, and that is why I chose it. I have a lot of 8k, 12k & 16k animations and video projects to render and edit, so I need a lot of hard drive space.
Thanks to Seagate for giving your largest and best hard drive to me FOR FREE.

How to build a gaming PC
Tumblr media
Today’s post is focused on building a brand new gaming PC. I will have another post on gaming PC upgrades coming up where I will talk about upgrading older gaming PCs. Today I am writing only on buying a new gaming PC. Before buying and building a new gaming PC, there are a few things you need to think about and whatever planning or decision you make. These are:
1) Purpose: Talking about buying a gaming PC is here again for the purpose! Many of you might be asking me this question now. The first thing to determine before buying a gaming PC is the purpose. The purpose of buying a gaming PC is to play games and with proper RAM you can also work on multimedia graphics editing with a gaming PC. By purpose here I mean first decide for what purpose you are buying a gaming PC. For example, if you are determined to buy a gaming PC to play games at home, then it is better not to spend money on “show-off” or “people-showing” items. As we talk about the CPU casing, the job of the casing is to protect the main components that run our PC. That is why casing is used in computers. Regardless of whether you buy a casing or a case, whether it is cheap or expensive, it will not increase or decrease your PC performance. Now if you buy a PC case with RGB lighting at a higher price for “people-showing” it is entirely up to you. Read More 2) Graphics Card: For a gaming PC, you should think about the graphics card or GPU before the CPU. The main driving force of a gaming PC is the graphics card. Depending on your graphics card, you have to think about the rest of the components. Especially remember “GPU before CPU” when building a gaming PC. So definitely keep a separate sector for graphics card in your budget. To select the right graphics card and CPU for your budget, remember the following simple formula: Read More

In defense of the GT 730 GPU
I seen quite a lot of hate thrown at this poor little GPU for a long time, and I think it’s time I point out why someone who installs an RTX 3080 at least once a day isn’t a good guide on this kind of low end hardware.
Disclaimer
I will be mostly talking about the 1-2GB GDDR5 variant, there’s 4GB ones but they’re quite rare, and there’s a lot of DDR3 ones but those suck, for the price get a 710 instead of those DDR3 ones honestly.
THE PRICE (around 70 to 80 bucks for a 2GB one on amazon)
This thing is cheap and offers a great bang for the buck upgrade if you’re coming from something like a Nvidia G100 or some office grade APU. This is not a GPU you would pair with a I5 12400F, this is a GPU you would pair with something like a I5 750. It’s great if you’re upgrading an old but still capable machine on a tight budget with a new GPU in the case you can’t get a better offer but used or you just don’t want used parts.
The price will vary on place to place, but compared to here, it’s around 70% of a basic income in my country, while something like a GTX 1050ti is around 4-6 times the basic income.
For some even a GT 1030 will be expensive and that’s okay, the 730 has you.
PERFORMANCE & POWER CONSUMPTION
It’s not gonna run Cyberpunk on ultra at 4k, or run MInecraft with extreme shaders with ray tracing, but it will run most games at at least 30 to 60 fps’s on low at 720/900p, better than a lot of old integrated GPU’s and great if your CPU’s is still holding enough for you.
All of that with a rated 38W of max consumption, so no need for a fancy 600W platinum PSU, some even come with a passive heatsink since they don’t produce a lot of heat, great for a silent machine on the cheap while maintaining a relatively low temperature and great performance.
PROFILE
It comes in standar, low profile, noisy and silent, wide and thin, you get a lot of choices, there’s even a few with more modern looking heatsinks/coolers
And just to reinstate, I will gouge your eyes out if you say “ don’t get a 730! get a “insert $200 GPU”! it will pair great with your celeron from 10 years ago! who cares about a $130 bottleneck? ”
And also no, don’t pair it with a 5600X to save money, just get a GT210 if you need a quick placeholder that doesn’t need to do much
