I speak as a black woman whose parents were born in Cameroon. This is my personal opinion and I use my right to freedom of expression. I am tired of the BRF letting itself be dictated by a minority. People on twitter and tiktok made videos saying minority brits don't like the queen and then there were the long queues to pay their respects, we saw what minorities. Some people continue to see evil everywhere and therefore perpetual victims. yes we are victims of acts but we must also move forward in our lives. These same people who yell that they are offended are the same people who are jealous of other successful minorities. Why ? because they move forward... they are also victims but they aim for excellence. because if you have real power and not noise, you are treated as your equal... in short, I can continue like this. I hope things will calm down. I am also aware that people like Omid or Meghan will use this to advance their mediocre careers during this time, the average citizen will be put aside

Mom: You draw the same things all the time. You used to draw animals and paintings with composition. You just draw people with perfect anatomy

Me: I dont always draw the same things

Mom: if you cant hande critism you should say so. How are you going to improve if you only draw what is easy for you

Sometimes, things go well.

After a very long (empty) period, I had the energy to start something new again. I wanted to try a new book series, but nothing on my ‘give it a try’ list seemed appealing. So I checked lists of recommendations, filtered after my preferences, and quickly found something that caught my interest. It captured me immediately, the characters, the world, how they are introduced, the worldbuilding, the writing, and the plot after a few chapters.

There is more though. I recognised a pattern in the writing, one of the ways how worldbuilding and character development are handled. Because this is similar to how I write. For so long, I worried that this pattern is boring or even annoying to read, that this is something I should work on to eliminate from my writing. But experiencing this now as a reader without all the background knowledge already in my head, I love it. And I’ve never read anything by this author before, but I know they’re relatively known, active, and successful. So I’m so much more confident now about keeping this pattern up now.

And now, I’m at the point where I read about these characters, where I feel the chemistry between them bristling when I read, where I’m biting my nails, heart pounding, when their eyes meet, when they touch accidentally, when they treat each other’s wounds, when they give each other comfort. I’m eagerly awaiting thier first kiss and all the drama that will follow.

Sometimes, things go well.
