Hey! You don't have to pub this but couldn't PM you. Saw your tag on the press post about "or you know the entire rest of the world" reason I only mentioned UK/US is because he predominately does album promo in those two places bc that's unfortunately where "charts and album sales matter" for labels and executives since labels are usually based in those places — wasn't leaving the rest of the world out to be a dick.

No it wasn’t meant for you it was meant for lthq/bmg lol!!! Tired of uk and usa getting everything while he has so much fans elsewhere and these are the fans that go the hardest and also countries where he’s getting media attention just by being there! They should use that but what do you expect from that band of incompetent lol

If this were a fairytale, maybe even a Young Adult novel or a chick flick, this would be the moment where Louis would stare right into his soul and whisper, “You. I disagree with pianolouis post personally, I do believe louis can have a big second era and album if done correctly. So many artist had a much smaller era with basic promo like dua lipa for example and now she is a huge name and grammy nominated. I don't think anything is impossible. If only louis gets a team behind him

No, it’s not impossible... but there are a lot of “if”s involved. So, it is unlikely that he’ll reach the levels of mega-stardom of 1D or Harry.

It’s not just that his debut era (which, btw, lasted 4 years) needed more and better promo. They also need to undo years of character assassination and rebrand him as the authentic international artist that he could be. He’ll need years of extensive and expensive promo, and they won’t be able to let up at all or let anything slip through the cracks. And it’s not just that he needs a new label and management team that works for him, so many entertainment outlets and promo oppurtunies have been blocked off for him. Some because of his boyband background and how they keep insisting he’s Louis Tomlinson from One Direction and the rest because Harry got there first.

He was never starting from zero. He was starting from deep in the negatives. And for the past 4 years they kept trying to push him further and further back.

Reading the tags on that post.. Yeah, Louis has redefined what success means to him. Maybe he did really have a revelation and decided he was okay just making music and surviving in an industry that doesn’t want him. But he was also probably forced to redefine what he wanted to get out of this as the reality of the situation kept getting clearer, one setback after the other, with every new knife in his back.

It’s beyond admirable that he’s kept going up until this point despite it all. He will be succeeding by just sticking around and releasing music. Once this pandemic finally fucks off, he can hopefully release a solid body of work and become the touring artist he said he wants to be. He doesn’t need to be a superstar to be successful.

This is so simple, so direct, so hearbreaking. I love the repetitive use of the negative. He could've said "it didn't work but it was meaningful to me". But he said it wasn't meaningless. I LOVE the repetition of this verse with the changes. I think it's some of my favourite lyrics of the album because it's so simple but relatable. He uses a simple object to bring up the image of the break up (walking out the door) and then uses that word again in the moment (starin' at the door) and conjuring the image of absence (you're not here anymore). You're not here anymore and you will never be here again. All of this from a stupid pair of SHOES he's insane. (And if I say: 'And all that's left of us is a cupboard full of clothes').
