“Charming, as ever,” the evil businessman said as he fastened the collar around the superheroine’s neck. “Let’s see how the next generation of Compliance Jewelry does with a field test, shall we?”

Platinum Panther wanted to tell the smug supervillain which field he could shove his compliance jewelry up, but … she didn’t. Somehow, it felt better to kneel quietly.

She didn’t like being silenced, and so she wanted to glare hatefully at Terence Tartarus, but … she didn’t. Somehow, it felt better to let her face drift open and compliant.

Platinum Panther wanted to fight whatever he was doing to her with every fiber of her being, but … she didn’t. Somehow, it felt better to whisper these words, “I am ready to comply, Master.”

She didn’t want to, but … she did.

I wasted an hour of my time calculating the Regional Managers canon heights

So before we get into the list, how did I do this?

Simple: I counted the bars on each of their mugshots and made a metric based on the full height of real mugshots (18 bars = 7 feet). If they were mid-bar/off screen/Moving (gdi BruBot and Payser) I made a rough guesstimation.

Edit: Had to redo the Satellite Investors' metric since those bastards were WAY off

Edit 2: I never Found the Family. Fixed that.

The vivid, sensory descriptions of the coal mine add to the heart-wrenching scene when Mike frantically searches for his trapped father after the explosion. “The air got warmer, heavier, the deeper they went. Stale, deathly. Difficult to breathe. The odor of scorched, wet wood. Melted iron. Burnt grease.” Each scene is riveting, but I found it difficult at times to connect all of the subplots with the various factions fighting each other. I suggest that you first read the glossary at the end of the book to familiarize yourself with terms and various groups before starting the story. For readers who enjoy delving into the American Industrial Revolution, I recommend reading Anywhere but Schuylkill for its gripping tale of a young Irishman striving for the American dream in the backdrop of the harsh reality of rich barons taking deadly, life-changing advantage of their workers.
