I don't know ship names very well so please forgive me

I've also decided to do 5 platonic and 5 romantic because yes

ROMANTIC

5. Wetbird- I am a proud Icarus POV main and I enjoy a healthy bit of Vens POV as well. There is something about this ship that just feels very right to me and also they both have experience with Fable so I feel like they'd have this ability when something might set the other off with trauma and stuff

4. Ghaae- The OG polycule on the server and they can do no wrong in my eyes. They support each other so nicely and its just wonderful.

3. Isla/Enderian- The momssss. I love them sm for so many reasons. Enderian being protective of Isla and only soft for her is mmmmm/pos

2. Ocie/Centross- you guys I love them. I love them so much. They are so similar and I love them so much and they're just mmmmmmm/vpos. How to I explain the love I have for these two.

Wolftross- I hold them in my little hands. As a Centross POV main(until the cathedral, ofc), watching this relationship form was one of my favorite things ever. From the castle back to spawn to s3, I love this ship with my whole heart.

PLATONIC

5. Rae/Wolf(Nightingstar?)- Okay so I love these two as a duo, and the cast can do what the cast wants to do with their characters. Now, with that being said- something about them becoming romantic didn't and still doesn't sit right with me. I can totally see the two in a QPR, they have a great dynamic as partners, but I just prefer them as a platonic ship.

4. Ari/Momboo- I have seen like three posts about them as partners and I hold them in my hands. The sun/moon imagery. The potential for nicknames. They would be wonderful QPPs.

3. End duo- They're such close friends. They are always there for each other. I hold them in my hands.

2. Ghosty/Momboo- LOTW and the guy she revived. The everlasting friendship. Their beauty as a duo. They are so good you guys I don't know how to sell this please just trust me on it.

Prison duo- I could go on for so long about why these two are the perfect platonic relationship in my eyes. They have similar trauma, saw each other at their worsts, when through so much shit and came out as best friends. Icarus taking off their jacket, which they don't do often, in front of Centross. Icarus letting Centross give them a tattoo. Icarus barely fighting Centross when he took off their gloves. Centross showing up on Icarus' doorstep with a skulk injury. Centross fighting Fable for Icarus. Them, everyone.

so- I found this song and decided that I was gonna cave and do a breakdown of the lyrics and why it's c!Icarus coded.

The song chosen is "This Is Love" by Air Traffic Controller.

(THESE ARE ONLY THE LINES I HAVE CODED MYSELF)

This during the season 2 prison duo incident, with Icarus keeping Centross in the prison. Centross saying that Icarus isn’t a good person and so is he, and that Centross should be killed by them based on everything that’s happened.

“I'm an idiot for thinking

This was anything but blood”

Centross again, and still in that prison incident from season 2, where it’s Centross realising the reasons why Icarus was doing what they’re doing. Can also be taken as season 3 current brothers, where Rae is realising what Icarus is doing with Fable.

“You must like being the victim

You've done nothing to get out

Of this pattern of pain”

Icarus still being stuck in the cycle of pain, and sometimes not bothering to get out of it and just moping around.

“You'll forgive me if I promise

And do nothing but the same”

Icarus saying that they won’t do those things again, and yet still doing them again and again, breaking everyone’s trust.

Could be my last dying breath”

Centross saying during the drunk stream that he won’t be around much longer, this turning out to be true from the Cathedral stream.

Each reset, and when a new villain arc happens for Icarus, everyone else has to scatter and try to figure new things out because it didn’t work like the first time.

Season 3 Icarus saying they know what the wrongs and rights are of what’s happening, but they prefer the fight as a main solution (which the arguably never succeed in)

- Can also be taken for season 1 corrupt!Icarus, how they always fought with everyone except a few (Easton, occasionally Athena, Momboo, etc.)

“If there's any sleep at night”

Season 3 Icarus, and how the nights seemed to be sleepless once Centross died.

Again, can be taken as season 1 corrupt!Icarus, and the fact they never really slept during Ominous bane, or throughout the time of corruption in general until they were broken out of it.

“I got my knife, got my gun”

Corrupt!Icarus talking to Athena (or Ominous Bane) before the Three Strikes stream, and the “knife” being their sword, with their “gun” being their bow (which I believed was named “Gun” in season 1? I may be thinking of another time thought)

“Let’s see how fast you run”

Three Strikes stream, Icarus chasing after Athena and threatening to shoot their arrow at him. (I think that speaks for itself, yeah?)

“You might think that you can hurt me

But the damage has been done”

Icarus talking to Rae or anyone trying to “hurt” them during corruption, saying they can’t be hurt more as whatever damage spoken had already been dealt.

“If I was sorry for my actions

Would I ever stoop so low?”

Icarus saying that if they were sorry they wouldn’t be stooping down as far as some of the things they’ve done. Probably current Icarus/season 3 Icarus.

“I was good but then I quit

Everyone that tried to fix me

Knows that I can't change a bit

I've got no shame, got no pride

Only skeletons to hide”

Icarus saying that they tried to be good, they tried so hard but it ended up in them still being a villain, no matter what everyone did to try “fix” them. Everyone (Icarus and the things + maybe fable and/or coworkers) knows that they don’t change no matter what, and the “skeletons” being those they’ve killed. Momboo, Haley, all the gods, and technically Centross though that was more Fable’s doing.

Thinking about how pretty much as soon as Fable got back he started trying to isolate Icarus

And of course he did, when he asked how to get rid of their soul bonds, he was told that isolation was the only way to limit their effects

No wonder he tried to push Icarus away for everyone

No wonder he hated Centross,

Centross was the only person who always stood by Icarus’ side,

The only person Fable couldn’t push away,

The only person who’s bond Fable couldn’t damage

He tried

He tried to push Icarus away from him, he tried to threaten him, he tried to make Icarus believe he was a risk, but none of that worked because Centross wouldn’t let them be alone

He wouldn’t let Fable push them into isolation,

He wouldn’t let the same methods Fable had used to push Icarus away from Rae work on him

A little ouchie for the soul:

So I like to headcannon that reason *character* Momboo and Icarus broke up is cause, when Icarus tried to ask Momboo out, the next day she said she didn't remember and Icarus thought that that was a way of letting them down easy, so Icarus took the hint and moved on.

With S3 and Momboos memory back, while it could have sparked something, after all the time in S2, the romantic feelings for each other kind of fizzled out, so they didn't have that "romantic desire" to try again.

Which makes when Icarus said : "Why do I kill everything I love?" hurt a little more,

As an added bonus, if you're a (qpr) Prison Duo shipper you could say the same thing about Centross. Icarus has said they "basically are responsible for Centross" so that's another thing they loved and killed
