ITS OKAY GUYS! IM FEEDING STARVING KIDS!

Wait what?

You heard me right! For the second time this year I am heading to Nicaragua and working with Deeply Rooted Grounds to feed kids, do therapy with children with physical/mental disabilities, help in one of the only educational programs in the area, and build a home!

And guess what?!? @prunpplee IS COMING WITH ME!

Helping lead this trip has been in the making for several months, and I’m so excited to be having a team of 14 wonderful people get together to help those in need.

I won’t be posting at all during this time because the connection I will have will be sparse and unstable. I hope everyone will have a wonderful week while we are gone! And I will see you all when we arrive back!

Just a fun question! What are your favorite at mediums that you don’t draw/use?

Okay I love this question-

Two mediums that elude me beyond belief are

Paint (any paint, acrylic, oil, it’s like a whole wild world and I can’t make it do WHAT I WANT-)

And colored pencils (don’t judge me okay I’m a alchohol marker kinda girly. I can’t get the layering right with pencils.)

Paint is such an amazing medium because not only does it enable you to create LARGER pieces of artwork on nearly ANY surface you want! But it’s so fluid and malleable to work with there’s very little you CANT do with it! I have a huge respect for any painted artwork that takes time, specifically realism but I still appreciate other works as long as you can tell it has meaning/took time.

Colored pencils are nice to work with for little things for me but like- I don’t understand how people layer them??? This is also a pretty common medium for hyperrealism. These differ from charcoals and graphite pencils because it’s not just a matter of lighter or darker anymore- it’s a matter of completely different colors.

Yeah you think your just gonna use orange pencils?

NAH THAT SKINTONE HAS UNDERTONES OF GREEN!!! YOUVE BEEN FOOLED!!

Anyway- I have a huge respect for people who use these mediums because I have genuinely tried and they elude me.

But the important thing to remember is that every medium takes talent and practice and therefore all should be admired :) !

#paint #colored pencils #art #you got me on an art rant you stinker! #prunpplee uses colored pencils like some kind of wizardry. #love love love artists who use paint as well #so much potential in so many mediums #I also like sculptors that use wood rather than clay #clay is extremely malleable and can be changed #wood is just like- you get what you get #ask #purple answers #ask purple #that transfers to carpenters as well #my grandpa was a carpenter #its a very exact art and that sets it apart from other mediums #usually there’s some wiggle room- #not woodworking. #oh and welders #my uncle is a welder #another very specific art #very interesting #and fire makes it dope too #let’s be honest I love every medium 😂 #but I have a special spot in my heart for ones that I cannot even begin to grasp. #as a person who has done woodworking and welding #I AM NOT SAYING THEY ARE EASY #they just didn’t make me want to eat the supplies out of agony like colored pencils or paint
