why did people ship q and bond and arthur and eames? like i look up but theres nothing now im wonderimg
ok so - first of all Inception is an epic piece of gay media so jot that down
no I joke. But both Skyfall and Inception are, in my humblest of opinions, classic examples of “pretending to hate someone with such intense flirting that it’s slightly sickening to watch.” This feeling is probably aided by the fact that both OOQ and Arthur/Eames have some of the best (and I don’t say this lightly) fanfiction communities on the internet - one of my favourite pieces of writing of all time, fanfiction or not, is an Arthur/Eames fic, and the OOQ collection on AO3 is likewise excellent (this is a classic). A talented, funny, and enthusiastic writing fandom is key to making a ship good and interesting for me.
If you want my Actual Serious Opinion as someone who likes literature, writing, and narrative arcs, I think this is partially because the Inception universe and the James Bond universe (at least the one belonging to Casino Royale and Skyfall, I don’t claim Quantam of Solace and Spectre) have excellent world-building opportunities, characters with intense and interesting backstories to explore, and a nice little dash of heist fiction to round it all off, which I happen to love.

Gemma Arterton wouldn’t take James Bond Quantum Of Solace role in 2020
Gemma Arterton wouldn’t take James Bond Quantum Of Solace role in 2020
Gemma Arterton played Strawberry Fields in the 2008 James Bond film Quantam of Solace (Picture: Mgm/Columbia/Eon/Kobal/REX)
Gemma Arterton has said she wouldn’t play the role of Strawberry Fields in James Bond film Quantum of Solace now.
With a character name like that, we don’t blame her.
The actress told The Telegraphshe had ‘no idea how long the film would follow me around’, adding: ‘You…

Your Bond is heading into an identity crisis, am I right? I would guess he never considered a male lover before Q said that.
So, I hope you dont mind me rambling, lol because I have like very specific reasons as to why I firmly believe that not only has Bond considered a male lover, but that he has in fact had several and probably prefers them to women.
First though, let me say that Bond is shocked by Qs words “too female” because he would assume that a man like Q (gorgeous but super nerd status) is probably super shy and there fore fairly uncomfortable around both men and women, but since his (and usually everyone else in the world tbh) default assumption is that Q is straight, he is surprised to find out that not only is Q not intimidated at all by the beautiful woman, but that he prefers men instead.
Alright, now onto why I have always (even when I was youngerish) assumed Bond is bisexual.
First-- I tend to believe that with sexual prowess comes loads of confidence, and the way Bond approaches both men AND women confidently and easily tells me that he has seduced both into his bed at one time or another. I think in the movies especially, he seduces woman because most of the time they are the “weaker” half to a dangerous man, and its easier to seduce them than it would be a guard or something along those lines. But Bond is a beautiful man that travels to beautiful locales and I cant imagine that he doesnt f*ck the poolboy while waiting for whichever nameless mistress he is after to get home.
And then of course, THIS SCENE in Skyfall, which made het- Bond lovers all over the world squirm uncomfortably, and those of use who already assumed Bond enjoyed men sort of squeal because its not very often we get canon confirmation (or almost confirmation) that one of our main characters is something other than perfectly straight.
Third-- and this is my own personal opinion, referencing older movies as well-- the women Bond seduces are always heart stoppingly beautiful, but even with (most) female agents, he is dismissive and callous towards them,. Women are a means to an end to him, and other than the the few he has cared for, he tends to treat them like shit. I am aware that this is also because of the overwhelming misogyny that just runs rampant through these films, and the “male fantasy” of women with names like “plenty” and “pussy galore” but Bond just has zero patience for the women he comes into contact with, even the ones he’s trying to save.
Moneypenney has always been an exception, even the moneypenney from the older films, because even though he flirted terribly with her, he was always considerate and sweet in their interactions. This new Moneypenney (Eve) is the same, for whatever reason even after she keeps a desk job he considers here an equal and worthy of his respect.
Even Vesper, who was his love, he treated her like crap for a long while, and it wasnt until she showed up in a ridiculous dress and then broke down in front of him (casino royale) that he showed true tenderness to her. But once she betrayed him? He was ready to put a bullet in her heart.
Compare that (and I suppose this is my fourth point, good lord forgive me for rambling on like this) to the way Bonds character so obviously grieves for Alec Trevelyan in Golden Eye, for Felix Leighter (even though he doesnt die) in License to Kill and Rene Mathis in Quantam of Solace, it seems to me that Bond is automatically more willing to care for the man he encounters versus the women.
Now this might speak to the horrible view of the Bond films that women are disposable distractions that hardly matter, but it also speaks to Bonds preferences. He sleeps/is around women because the job requires it, but the friendships (for the most part) and deeper relationships center around men.
All this to day, obvs its just my opinion, but I firmly believe James Bond is bisexual with perhaps a greater leaning towards men when he has the option to choose.
Im sure you didnt want all of this when you mentioned that perhaps Bond will be having a crisis, but there it is anyway lol

Remember when we used to rock Mecca, Danielle the spelling I can't remember, know I can't forget you cause the hugs were incredible, when I forgot your name it wasn't 'cause you ain't nun ya'know, I need less contractions with this oxygen I'm releasing, lifting off the essence of this greenhouse gas I'm depleting, poetry on motion when I kept on like I'll remember, because making errors, makes the proofreader less jealous, see if poetry was something that the world could interpret meaning that I said it every way to tell them I own this, if they were someone else's words then it's because carbon copies, because the ladies told me I look like someone "old bodies", now when you pray I listen along, because I wanted God to hear every single song, but I hope the whole time the bond is solace and not a "rememberance" cause the "Quantam" can't solve a rubik's... I'm squared squared not a cube in this hemisphere, connect them to let them know the flats don't just appear, GOD says, "The word damn needs to disappear". Whether you use it for hate or to spread the love, you are losing every dream and prayer that you send up. "Bless I'm glad I made you Harold Franklin Poole IV" I'm glad I finally heard the voice of God success no scarface, killing only ends all the love, money is harms way, ask me why the names are what they are then I'll tell you that the opposite of hate is love, I am the definition of standard deviation. The probability of error of a proofreader is A-Zillion in a time machine. And time cannot be altered. Only the present. Thank you Black Cobain. I'm still going to tag @Instagram because the platform matters Mr. Kanye. "They" can't stop you and you can't stop yourself. Harold Franklin Poole IV says "(Goodmorning) in the afternoon. Sometimes I speak too soon God and I was returning everything I took on accident. Treblecleftomaniac... no stealings ... these are steps in history. Make the past a ladder not a crutch... we all need to learn that happiness is a choice whether the book titles mean much to you all at all. I don't need to write it down, you can read it. I don't need to make a sound you can feel it. I just want to say... "I cannot" "Hi Robyn"

Personal Opinion About Something That's Barely Relevant
I don't think Quantam of Solace is that bad of a movie. I know a lot of people who utterly despise it but I personally don't think it's all that terrible. Don't get me wrong it's nowhere near as shockingly amazing as Skyfall or Casino Royale but still not too bad. Overall I'd say it's an alright movie and no matter what, no Bond movie could be worse than Die Another Day in my opinion.
