Improvements in My Profile and more~

Dear friends, we have great news! Along with the release of the new update, new features and achievements will be added to the Romance Club app. Every time you will replay an episode you played before, you will receive +5 diamonds, and the chance to watch an advert for +3 more diamonds! 

Changes to the “My Profile” section:

1) You will be able to make your profile private so that it won't be visible to other players. 2) You will be able to report profiles if they feature offensive content. All reports will be checked, and those profiles that violate our guidelines will be suspended. 3) You will be able to hide characters from the Top Matches sections. 4) When the relationship level with any of your Top Matches changes, an up or down arrow will be shown next to their icon. 5) The hearts next to the Top Matches icons will be two different colors. Pink means that you have a romantic relationship with that character. Purple means that you are improving your relationship with that character, but you have not yet started romancing them or you are building relationships also with other characters. 6) You will be able to save cutscenes in all stories.

My Dearest Gentle Reader....

Sometimes stories are too good to be true, and sometimes they're too good to not be shared. Even though I promised not to waste anymore ink or feathers on what is going on in a particular corner of the Tum where a certain Cinderella is the highlight and the talk of the Tum these last weeks.

You know the best show not on tv, though much to our surprise Cinderella was rudely written out of the books, instead last years summer fling's likings on posts became interesting again.

Then suddenly around midnight (CEST, = abt 6pm ET and 3pm PT) she who always wakes up to DMs or just got a minute rushing in between meetings posted an Anon telling her most eligible bachelor was in the South of France and pictures will be out tomorrow. I had to shake my head as I knew how that message came about.

Half an hour before, I posted a little cryptic message to an Anon that sent me a message earlier that evening (21.50 CEST) about the whereabouts of this supposed vigilante. I did a little research and the message, naming an event, had some merit in it. I tried to find pics or videos, looked at many, but none to be found that could identify him clearly. Yes, several lookalikes with a cap and a shirt far in the distance. But not good enough for me. So I decided to post this cryptic message hoping Anon would come back and perhaps had some more proof than the 'listing' I found and mentioned in my cryptic post.

About 15 minutes later I got this Anon:

I had to laugh as it was far off... and no Idea why H... R....... and him being 'listed' as I wrote could have anything to do with the South of France in the slightest way.... Confirmation bias looking in wrong directions to say the least

You can imagine how I had to laugh even more when I saw the same Anon on the blog of the one that now seemed to have all the time in the world spinning a fantastic story around it. The Anon seemed fairly sure now, not a question mark in it but even claiming there would be pics tomorrow! I had no doubts where this Anon had been reading first and as I didn't posted her message she must have thought she was right and run straight off to Lalaland to please her fairytale writer.

Time for popcorn 🍿 I thought and popped some in the microwave... and boy, I needed a full box of it, cause what happened after that post I can hardly describe. The story that was spun around this 'South of France' you can not make this up. Literally in a matter of minutes, each time I refreshed the page there was another chapter. More 'proof' and 'evidence' on every reblog of herself.

Look Melissa is in Cannes... [right, she was already there for a couple of days... and believe me S isn't the only one she grooms]. And of course it all made sense since, blimey, all of the sudden Cinderella was back on top of the list and magically popped up in the South of France as well! Only days before, she posted about Brigitte Bardot and changed her profile pic to an old one from the time she once must have been on an RC in Cannes and you know she's 'a socialite and a film maker who has lived in France for years' and must be well known in those circles... No, this can't all be a coincidence, now can it? 😂😂😂

Lists of parties in Cannes were shared and oh bloody hell how could we have missed his latest following of Alessandra, she's there as well... Maybe she was even better than Cinderella (how rude!)

[Did she not notice how he followed her already long time ago, but seemed to have unfollowed her and now re-followed again, as well as the other ones he followed recently, the everydayman and Neil Marshall. Now don't ask me why he does this, but he does]

My head started to hurt from laughing.... but also from keeping up with all the women the Queen of Lalaland had brought up in less than a day. And remind you, she was busy for more that 8 hours straight to finally come up with an Anon who gave her and her readers the wake up call realizing what H.... R.... stood for.

Yes, of course Hyrox Rotterdam. Not a woman, but a sports event. I found the listing on the website. (why did nobody else took a look there???) And I have to be honest, I did remove some comments working it out and received Anons before it even occurred to the other side what it was all about.

But last night it showed no results and today it is still empty. I was hoping more results would be added today but it doesn't look like it. As said no clear identifiable pics or videos have been found. So it remains unclear if he participated at all. All I can confirm is that at least he planned to stay on this side of the Canal and fill his days with sports.

But do not despair my dearest gentle readers, as I have it on good authority that he's busy preparing for a full week of shooting TCND in which he even might get arrested at the end of the week...

RC turned six this year and I'm simply in awe. I've been with this app for half of their yourney (I started playing in April 2021) and right now it's hard for me to imagine my life without it.

Waiting for every update is so exciting, getting to play new mcs brings me satisfaction, watching new lis makes my heart race. RC may not release new episodes every week, but when it does, it d e l i v e r s. You can see, how much work they put into their books - art, music, writing, hell, even animations! Recently they expanded our profiles, so we can see our stats, lis, even getting rewards if we fulfill certain missions. Back in the days we used to have one ad per 1,5 hour and now we get it every half an hour and we receive 3 diamonds, not 1 like in the past. And s t i l l they give us diamond rushes, allowing us to play every single one of their stories. I can't voice how thankful I'm for the treatment they offer us. 💙 I hope they'll keep on improving and getting recognition they deserve.

On the sidenote, thanks to this app I also got to know wonderful people. 🥰 Installing RC really was a gamechanger to me.

How do their respective jobs affect Mako and Wu's relationship? What role does Mako take in Earth Kingdom politics? How is it valued by people? To what extent does Wu have influence in the police station? What relationship does he have with Mako's companions and Lin Beifong? What are the security arrangements like? Etc.

Thank you for an ask 😊😊😊 that's so many things to think about ahhhhh!!!!

Thinking about their jobs affecting each other is SUCH an interesting thing to explore. It really depends on what you see them doing long term!

I mean, on one end of the spectrum: Wu fully abdicating. I see him moving to Republic City, taking his ex-king money and doing some kind of charity work with it, or maybe playing a role in the Republic City government—maybe not so much any kind of executive role, but more along the lines of managing and overseeing Health and Human Services or something to improve access to government aid. And then Mako continuing his work as a detective but I like the idea that there are reforms that happen within the department in direct response to a better safety net in the United Nations (I'm a big fan of more social workers, fewer police officers). Mako probably spearheads some of these reforms, in particular regards to child welfare.

BUT WHAT IF on the other side of the spectrum.... Wu NEVER abdicates! Mako marries him and becomes King-Consort!? This one is absolutely so interesting to explore. Mako's a police officer for RC, and he's a citizen of the United Nations, and we often think of him in terms of being a fire bender and having fire nation heritage, but he is from a multi-cultural family and has earth kingdom heritage from Ba Sing Se. It's not crazy to think he could embrace this side of his heritage and decide to take on that responsibility and rule side-by-side with Wu!!! Admittedly, I personally don't see myself going this route in my own fics but it sure is a cool idea to explore!

And then there's so many options in between... But I really like the idea of no matter what, the two of them work in tandem to make life better for others in both the Earth Kingdom and in the United Nations. I think the citizens of both nations will be better off by the time these two accomplish those goals, regardless of what individual people might think of a same sex couple on the throne reforming the earth kingdom together, or an ex-king starting the avatar equivalent of Job and Family Services while his husband defunds the police...

I love Wu getting close to the Krew and everyone in Mako's life. He's already in Grandma Yin's good graces. He and Korra are clearly close in Ruins of the Empire. All the animal friends love him. I think he has no problem getting close to and having a great relationship with all of Mako's companions... Except Lin. I really love Lin Beifong and her weird mentor/vaguely maternal relationship to Mako, and I think Lin's got a lot of feelings about Wu given how Mako was miserable working with him. She definitely started warming up to Wu during the evacuation, but I don't think she's sold on Wu being a good partner to Mako. Lin is a woman of action, and it will take Wu 'proving' himself to her for her to begrudgingly be like 'fine. I guess you're my surrogate son-in-law now'. (but she's always got her eye on him...)

Security arrangements for Wu I think will eventually be private security, hired and vetted by Mako personally maybe with some assistance from Lin. I don't think Mako himself needs a full security detail but depending on the scenario (King-Consort??) a high-profile Mako really should have some security detail too. He's not going to be weird about it, Mako doesn't necessarily like relying on other people for protection but he's not stupid. He's not going to arrogantly think he doesn't need any extra protection in that kind of scenario...

PSG vs Lens : the season's launch.

Ladies, Gentlemen, Gays and Theys.

Welcome to another read of The Football Thesis. This one comes a bit late because I had a very busy week with finals which I am delighted to anounce : I have graduated college, finally. Nahkyl MD is excited to bring you this review and I really hope you'll enjoy it !

Last saturday, PSG played against RC Lens and won 3-1 after 20 minutes that seemed a bit tough. Both teams are qualified for this year's UCL. What to make of it ?

Luis Enrique : finding balance

It's only the third game of the season, if we don't count the pre-season games. So I'm not going to be ecstatic but I must say, I am really excited by what I get to see. There's definitely a better use of Kylian and Ousmane's percussion than the last game against Toulouse. I think Enrique is on the right path to find the perfect balance between possession and transition. And that's the I.D of all big European clubs.

2. A promising midfield

If you watched last year's season, or even the years before that, you know our midfield has been a black hole. Vitinha was fading into the background, Ruiz was (still is) a ghost, and Verratti was going through the worst year he's ever been through as a football player and not doing shit to get away from it. WZE was the only one making efforts on the pitch, but he was only starting in Ligue 1 and Galtier was blind to his talent, forcing him to play his first UCL game on the RIGHT (I'm still mad about that).

That seems to change now. WZE is a gem that's growing by the game, Vitinha seems to be more free, still lacks at the finish but has been finding his marks a lot quicker. But the greatest hope comes in the name of Manuel Ugarte Ribeiro. Ugarte is definitely one of the tops of this year's mercato. He is the exact player profile we were looking for : an old school ball recoverer. He knows how to play in front and back to the goal. And more importantly : my guy is HUNGRY. My guy wants his team to devour. And that element is SO. important in games like these where the team is struggling to get into it.

I still think Verratti would be a huge contribution to our midfield, our little technical genius, but I also respect Luis' decision to not take players who don't show up off pitch. If you're an athlete, act like one.

3. Everyone wants a shot

What I noticed watching the game was that even if there were more occasions than goals, - something that could bite us in the ass in the UCL if we don't polish our finition - there's not a single player that didn't try to get into the surface. Not one. Like, I'm not gonna lie to you, I kept screaming at Hakimi because the dude is not a striker and should've made passes a lot more than he tried striking, and I'm pretty sure I saw Ousmane and Marco Asensio share the sentiment and yell at him. But then when the anger of missed occasions passed, I realized what that meant : our players wanted to have a shot at putting the ball in the net. All of them, even defenders. And felt comfortable enough, bold enough to do so. Whereas they wouldn't have DARED last year.

If you just started getting interested in PSG you might not realize how big of a deal this is. We've been waiting for three years to see such agressiveness on the pitch. Such might. Ever since Thiago Silva left, the already instable lockeroom due to the big (HUGE) star players that we had completely crumbled. And then it entirely collapsed with Messi's arrival. I'm not saying he's responsible, at all, I'm saying our lockers were already shaky and bringing in the sport's literal biggest legend (who apparently didn't even want to be there), it completely obliterated upcoming players. It anhiliated them.

Now, they look free. They look like they want to be here, they want to fight, they want to prove their worth. And I love that. I want that. I want to see that, I want to see players who want to fight for the jersey, for the badge. And when players feel like they have a chance to show themselves, to progress, that's when you create a collective. When everyone feels they have their place.

And during the second half, that's what we saw : we saw the birth of a group. Players were fighting for each other, helping each other, literally fighting each other : I literally almost cried when Kylian went all up in that defender's face for fouling Warren. That's what teamwork is about.

Which brings me to my next point : Marquinhos should not be captain. But I'll develop that in another post. One that will be specifically dedicated to that.

Flops:

Carlos Soler. Need I say more.

Overall, this game was important for them but also for us supporters because it is reassuring. Not necessarily about the play, because we still have a lot to prove in that aspect. But it showed us we might, for once, have a team that geniunely wants to play for Paris Saint Germain. To defend its colors. Warriors that want to fight with fucking honor and if you're a big European club supporter, that might seem like the bare minimum. But to us ? This is huge. Because it's the essence of the club, it's what PSG is about, that resilience. And for decades, that identity was walked over. It was trampled. And when you watch that happen, your heart bleeds. This may seem like I'm exagerating but it feels like a rebirth.

Kolo's siege to join might just be a sign that's the mentality the club is heading towards.

And as a football supporter, more than trophies, that's what matters most.

Thats right, draw 3/5 OC Iterators that began growing in my brain on a photoediting program with my computer's touchpad!

This is the first time I've ever really drawn something digitally other than my profile pic & rw brainrot, and it's definitely the first time I've designed iterators, so yeah! Enjoy the art and subsequent Lore dumps under the cut :)

Iterator 35, Gen. 2: Shaded Pewter Lights / SPL

Built at the base of a dry, desert-like mountain, SPL preferred to occupy their time with huge, complex mechanical experiments rather than genealogical or Acension-based research. They despise thinking about the Great Problem, as no one can experiment if they're all dead, though they don't dislike iterators who attempt to solve it (for that reason alone). Their city used to harbor and attract skilled mechanics and engineers for miles around, as a particularly prodigous university was located on their can. Though they rarely interacted with their citizens, they often miss the requests they sent them, especially those sent by the less experienced artificers of their city; however, they feel little love for the Ancients beyond appreciation for their skill in mechanics (the skill required to build the iterators).

In the past, SPL has repeatedly set up projects within their can that could only be described as titanic Rube Goldberg Machines. SPL often sought to improve the functionality of their can with these experiments (plus having fun), keen to observe and record as much data as possible from the cycles-long whirring of cogs and water wheels before setting everything up again to repeat. Their main goals included lowering their needed water intake, gaining a form of low-power mode for bad weather, and utilizing lightning as a secondary power source. Though many saw these modifications as taboo, SPL couldn't care less, blocking almost all communication during their experimentation era: however, they often shared their knowledge with APS to assit in the creation of the wildlife santuary on his can, and many of the conduits used to water plants there are of their design.

Due to an integral flaw in the rerouted void fluid piping of their Easternmost Leg, SPL's can collapsed in the middle of a heated arguement with their local group, with their Westernmost Leg piercing through their can. With rust and sand permeating their structure, their many mechanisms fell silent for the first time since the Ascension. Although SPL is still connected to their can, overseers, and local communications arrays, they can no longer induldge themselves in experiments; they barely have enough power function as is. They now spend most of their time chatting with other iterators in their local group, sending overseers to APS's sanctuary, and attempting to prevent further discoloration and rust on their puppet. They're not usually bitter, but particularly vulgar arguements with EN can send them into a spiral.

SPL still feels they did the right thing in modifying their can. Though the other iterators refuse to admit it, the main reason they still function is due to the modification of their can.

Iterator 77, Gen. 3: Rain from Clear Skies / RCS

Although he often jokes around, RCS is the most calm and collected of his local group. He often finds himself mediating fights between his local group (read: SPL and EN) for this reason, as has the astonishing ability (within his local group at least) to sit back, consider something fully, and make mostly objective decisions. He also uses this ability to point out details many other iterators overlook, so is often called for help with malfunctioning software and to explain why some experiments went wrong. His citizens instilled him with a love for quiet and time to contemplate, and they had a moderately positive relationship, so often misses them. But when he isn't meditating or recording data from around his can, he's talking with EN. They have soft spots for each other.

His name comes from the already heavy rainfall in the region where his can was built, which his construction didn't help; very little non-semi-aquatic wildlife remains around his can. However, he often moderates the remaining flora and flauna to insure it's continued survival, and has sent more than a few wounded animals to APS so she can assit in their recovery. When he's not researching, RCS also acts as the jokester of his local group, and often codes pranks and malware intended to cause harmless irritation into sent messages. He's gotten quite good at it, to his local group's endless infuriation (and delight). He doesn't send these to SPL, though, as their systems likely wouldn't be able to handle the repairs.

Iterator 16, Gen. 1: Even Nightfall / EN

As one of the earliest iterators built, EN's city was particularly religious and pious, priding themselves on their virtue and detachment from the material world. This did not bode well for EN, who had an almost abusive relationship with their citizens; they treated EN as something to deal with their problems and nothing more. After they Ascended, EN felt both a weight off their shoulders and, for a reason he can't pin down, a profound sense of betrayal that their creators abandoned them. Though a few in their local group see them as nothing more than cruel and callous, EN is very emotinally reserved (but also very, very smug) and astoundingly protective and kind towards those they care for. This includes RCS, their genticially modified slugcat Arps, and to some extent APS.

APS acted as a sort of mentor to EN when they were built, helping them manage their city's requests and sneak in a few personal projects on the side. While their city didn't approve of the projects they found, and reprimanded EN, the number EN kept secret far outnumbered those discovered by the Ancients. With their creators gone, EN found a hobby genetically modifying the pre-existing wildlife around their structure, and has improved their already impressive skills; this lead many genticially modified organisms to spread out and inhabit EN's can, and is also where Arps came from.

Named after APS, Arps acts as a mix between a therapy animal and pet for both EN and RCS. Arps frequently travels between EN and RCS's cans, and EN gave them the ability to glide to ease this passage; however, they (and RCS) also always send an overseer along with Arps to ensure their safety. Even when Arps is simply gliding between trees in the Rainworld Equivalent of a Sparse Pine Forest surrounding EN's can, he always sends an overseer to make sure they're OK. They're almost overbearing!

EN and RCS are perhaps the closest out of any of the iterators within their local group, and frequently chat or play 7-dimensional chess for entire cycles before they have to check up on an experiment so it doesn't explode. Though they couldn't talk much and weren't nearly as close pre-Mass Acension, RCS was one of the few iterators who spent the time to work around EN's colony's communication restrictions and talk to them. He was a great comfort, and one of the only reasons EN didn't crack under their city's pressure.
