Jami Ul-Alfar Mosque also known as Red Mosque is a historic mosque situated on Second Cross Street in Pettah, Colombo. It is one of the oldest mosques in Colombo and hence attracts many visitors and tourists. Construction of the mosque was completed in 1909.

@tannedandhow • • • • • The perfect picture - Pose / Candid? 📸 When we see a place in pictures online, the photographer captures a part of it. We see what they see and feel, what they wish to share. So when we reach that place, so often we are left surprised or shocked because there’s so much more to that place. There’s life around it; real people who live nearby, stray animals, tiny shops, scattered garbage and intertwined wires and god, other tourists. It’s a mess! You wish for everyone to disappear so you can enjoy it for yourself and capture that one shot of your dreams. But that doesn’t happen that often. (Actually never happened for us) and believe it or not, we are still kinda shy to pose in front of passers by. But with time, we’ve learnt 2 things: 1. Patience - wait till you find a gap; and 2. People add character to photos, so take some shots unawares - we think the result is interesting.
