Hi I’m sick right now and was wondering if you could give me some fics suggestions to get my mind of off of it ?
Sorry to hear you're sick. You need some fluffy Klaine, maybe some set at Christmas, and some general. ~Jen

ii's Christmas Eve, Blaine's office is open, and he's just looking forward to the best part of the day: the elevator ride down with his cute coworker.

A Very Sloppy Christmas By @coffeegleek
lucy8675309 posted to tumblr a series of gifs with Kurt dressed up as an elf. It inspired me to write the following prompt, which CoffeeAddict80 encouraged me to write as a fic:
I now want a fic where real Santa’s elf!Kurt gets drunk and vents to Blaine about all the woes of working for Santa. He’s over 100 years old and the outfits are terrible. Why couldn’t they wear clothes like the elves did in that one movie? Drunk elf Kurt has no idea he’s venting to Santa’s son.
Bonus if he wakes up and realizes he just had a drunken one night stand. He isn’t sure who it was with. Only that he’s naked, the guy in the bed beside him is naked and showing off a really great ass. Then said guy turns over and after Kurt’s done staring at his dick, he looks at the guy’s face and realizes who it is.
~~~
After Work Drinks by coffeeaddict80 @caramelcoffeeaddict
Blaine and his new coworkers go out for drinks after work. One of his coworkers makes a bet that Blaine can't get the phone number of the good-looking guy sitting alone at the bar not realizing that the guy is Blaine's fiancé, Kurt.
~~~~~
Yule be Mine By scatter-the-stars
Crashing weddings is nothing new for Kurt. Being caught, however, is. When a handsome stranger comes to his rescue, he has no problem going along with Blaine’s plan of pretending to be his boyfriend for the night. But one thing leads to another and Kurt soon finds himself agreeing to spending a week with Blaine and his family for Christmas. What can go wrong? He’ll play pretend. Hang ornaments on the tree, decorate some cookies, and have fun in the snow. He won’t fall for Blaine’s family. And definitely won’t fall for the handsome, great guy he’s pretending to date. Right?

Rocking Horse Ranch by @hkvoyage
Kurt has been working hard all year, and has earned a well-deserved break. He joins his family for the Christmas and New Year holidays at Rocking Horse Ranch, just north of New York City. The all-inclusive resort has plenty of outdoor and indoor activities along with evening entertainment. It boasts that it has something for everyone. Little does Kurt know that it also has someone for everyone. Holiday maker!Kurt and activities staff!Blaine. A Klaine AU meeting. Don't answer the phone by dizzywhizz
Kurt gets pranked. At first, it drives him to nearly the brink of insanity, but as it turns out...
It might actually have been good for him. And for his crush, too.
Here also is our fluff tag.
If this is the stuff you want, let me know. I may do a longer response later!

The White Lotus: The Devil produces a series loaded-down with gay stereotypes
So I wasn't sure about the HBO Max series White Lotus, set in a beach resort in Italy.  But someone told me that there were gay characters in Season 2, so here goes, Episode 2.1:
Scene 1: A beach resort featuring bikini models sitting under umbrellas.  A woman with her breasts hanging out of her swimsuit starts a conversation with two women who just arrived from America.  She's leaving in a few hours, but she praises the hotel, the staff, the food, and the wine.  So she spent her entire trip on a beach that looks like every beach everywhere?  Why not try to actually see the country?  Her semi-bare butt goes into the water for one last swim -- and she bumps into a dead body!
Tumblr media
Cut to hotel staff Rocco and Valencia watching body bags being hauled away.  Several bodies of guests have turned up!
Scene 2:  A week earlier.  Two heterosexual couples on a boat, one distant and arguing, the other snuggling, kissing, and nose-rubbing.  Then a depressed woman, Allora, walking through town.  Her friend Mia asks what's wrong: "Massimo has a new girlfriend, and I'm jealous."  Mia drags her away: it's almost time for the boat to arrive.  So is this a flashback in a flashback, before the girls get on the boat with the heterosexual couples?
A boat arriving while the staff waves.  "Smiles, everyone, smiles!'   Allora and Mia look on from afar, wondering whic one "he" is.  He who?  A new boyfriend met on Tinder?
Down on the dock, Employee Valencia tells the Old Guy: "I'm surprised you are here.  It's a long way from L.A., and you are quite old."  Way to insult your guests!  Next an unidentified older-younger same-sex couple; Cameron (Theo James, above) and wife, the kissing, nose-rubbing couple); Ethan (Will Sharpe, left) and wife, the distant, arguing couple (he forces her to drink wine); and a flowsy rich lady with a hundred suitcases, Ms. McQuaid. "I am your host, Mr. Roarke.  Welcome to Fantasy Island."
Scene 3:  The White Lotus resort is in an  old hilltop convent, nowhere near the beach -- but with a view of Mount Etna. What kind of beachside resort is this, where you have to take a bus to get to the beach?
Employee Rocco tells the two couples, who are apparently all friends, the story of the testi morti: a Moor came to Sicily and seduced a local woman.  When she discovered that he had a wife and kids back home, she cut off his head. It's a warning for husbands not to cheat.
Then he shows  them that the two rooms connect through a secret doorway.  Ethan is up for wife-swapping, but his wife disapproves: "We won't be using that."  When the kissing, nose-rubbing couple leave, Ethan starts yelling at her.  Jerk! Not into it means not into it.
Meanwhile, the older-younger same-sex couple turn out to be father Dominic and young adult son Albie (Adam DiMarco), traveling with Grandpa Bert, who flirts with a female employee until the others reigns them in.  They're here to visit their ancestral town.
So far the only potentially gay guest is Albie, so I'll fast-forward to his story.
Minute 24: Albie gets out of the pool (nice chest shot, but every other guy in the vicinity is fully clothed0.  He sits down next to Portia, a teenage girl who just got off the phone with a friend telling her to "get some dicks" while on vacation.  SHe starts crying because "they" have half a billion dollars but won't let her have any fun.  Albie consoles her.
Minute 46: They kiss.  Ok, so Albie is straight.  All of the other guests are married, hetero-horny, or both.  Who is the gay one?
Research reveals that he is Quentin, one of those aristocratic, decadent, fey Quentin Crisp types (parents don't know that their kid is gay when he is born, so why do gay guys on tv always have tired stereotype names, like Quentin and Blaine?).  This closeted jerk pays a group of straight men to have sex with him and introduces them as "my nephew and his friends."   He's also a drug addict and a murderer.  Pure homophobic sleaze.
Tumblr media
Wait -- I didn't notice before, but this series is created by, written by, and directed by MIKE WHITE, aka The Devil.  This is the jerk who wrote and starred in Chuck and Buck, about gay relationships being only for adolescents experimenting on their way to a "normal" heterosexual adulthood -- then had the monumental gall to advertise it in gay magazines!  Apparently those poor souls who get stuck in their adolescent "gay phase" turn into decadent, fey drug addicted murderers.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love ♥️
You’re asking me to choose from my babies? I love them all!  Here are five fics I’m most proud of.
Westerville Abbey Verse
Blaine is the second son of the earl of Westerville, and is considered the spare heir. After his 18th birthday, he attends the London Season to fulfill his duty of finding a wife. He soon realizes he is more attracted to the new footman. Kurt, who has just arrived at Westerville Abbey to work alongside his father, becomes equally as smitten with the earl’s youngest son. Will Blaine and Kurt be able to overcome their class differences in 1910s England? Will their forbidden love survive WW1? A Downton Abbey inspired historical Klaine AU.
The Seduction
Venetian Blaine arrives at Carnival’s masquerade ball, looking for his next conquest. His reputation as a lover is legendary, and no one can resist him. Virgin Kurt captures his attention, but seducing him will require careful planning. As they spend time together, will Blaine be able to carry out his plan successfully? A historical Klaine AU set in 18th-century Venice.
Rocking Horse Ranch
Kurt has been working hard all year, and has earned a well-deserved break. He joins his family for the Christmas and New Year holidays at Rocking Horse Ranch, just north of New York City. The all-inclusive resort has plenty of outdoor and indoor activities along with evening entertainment. It boasts that it has something for everyone. Little does Kurt know that it also has someone for everyone. Holiday maker!Kurt and activities staff!Blaine. A Klaine AU meeting. Written for Grlnxtdr29’s Klaine Christmas Eve Challenge and the Klaine Advent Challenge.
Butterfly Wings
A fashion blog started at University launched Blaine Anderson’s fortune and fame. As Vogue’s new editor-in-chief, he is struggling to find an original angle for an upcoming issue. Kurt Hummel has recently arrived in New York City after finishing high school, and is having no luck building a musical theater career, so he decides to explore another passion of his: fashion. He applies for an internship at Vogue, and Isabelle sees in him the perfect fresh face to liven up the magazine, and convinces him to try out as a model. Kurt meets Blaine, and in spite of their 10-year age difference, sparks fly. Can they overcome misunderstandings and sabotage to find their happily-ever-after? Klaine model AU.
The Ghost Kitchen
At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Kurt lived in Lima with his father. Two years later, he returned to New York City. As he needed money to pay for rent and food, he got a job in a booming industry: food delivery. His first delivery order was a pick-up from Warbler Food Enterprises. Little did he know he would meet a cute chef there that would turn his world upside down.

POINTS
Yes, there is a way to gain yourself some points this trip. To avoid all of you hybernating for the week, we want a mood board or collage (at least 6 photos of 6 DIFFERENT things) you have done/discovered/learned over the trip with a few sentences to describe it. Then post it as part of your weekly guidance. Completed projects are worth 50 points.
OOC
Alright, so standard rules here, and if your character is going to break any of the rules listed (or other school rules) we need to know that for appropriate action. If you have a plot that requires ‘outside world’ information PLEASE run that by us - don’t just go rogue with it.  In regards to points - it’s not a lot so we’re not looking for novels, but give it a little effort please. At LEAST 6 pics are required, either in a mood board fashion or collage. Each picture should be a different activity or ‘thing to do’ while on the trip.  Alright, I think that’s it, but let me (Mack) know if there are any questions.

task #01: questionnaire
personal information:
full name: blaine devon anderson date of birth: april 5th hometown: westerville, ohio sexuality: homosexual parents’ names: james and pam anderson siblings’ names: cooper anderson occupation: broadway actor smoke/drink/drugs: no, occasionally, no tattoos: none piercings: none
resort information:
1. How long have you been working/attending the resort?
This is my first time back in six years, but I used to spend almost every winter here for the first 18 years of my life.
2. What is it about the resort that intrigued you to vacation/work here?
Well, take a look around. The resort and its surroundings are absolutely gorgeous, and I just have so many good memories of this place. I was looking for a change of scenery, and the resort was the first place that came to mind. My parents were the one who originally decided to come here, though, as I was just a kid back then.
3. What have you enjoyed the most since arriving here?
I’ve only been here for a few days, so I can’t say I’ve got much to tell you just yet, but what I’ve really enjoyed so far is how friendly and relaxed everyone seems to be. People actually take the time to say hi and smile at you, maybe even have a little chat, which is so different from New York where everyone’s always in a hurry. I already feel more relaxed than I did before I got here.
4. What have you enjoyed the least since arriving here?
I haven’t had a single unpleasant experience here so far.
5. What are you looking forward to doing during your stay?
The whole Snowmass experience, really! I’m excited to explore Aspen again, to get back on my skis and board (although I really need some lessons before I try the latter...), go ice skating, to just sit on the porch and relax while I enjoy the view... I’m also really excited to be reunited with Sugar, and I can’t wait to spend some time with her.
6. Are there any people that you have become friendly with?
Sugar and I go way back, but apart from her, not really anyone in particular yet. I’ve had the chance to talk to a few of the staff members, though, who were all incredibly friendly so far.
7. Are there any people that you have grown to dislike?
None so far! And I hope it will stay that way.
8. What is the best activity that the resort offers?
The first thing that comes to mind right now is getting a massage, but that’s just my body telling me I really need one after doing 8 shows a week. Apart from the obvious activities, I’d say the Coaster is a lot of fun. Especially when you can ride it at night during Ullr Nights celebrations.
9. Is there anything you’d like to add/remove or change about the resort?
I can’t really think of anything right now.
10. What are you hoping to achieve during your time/stay at the resort?
I hope I can clear my head a little and just relax, and maybe make some new friends.

★★★ Here I Am, Honey by luckie_dee When Blaine Anderson visits Kellerman's Mountain Home with his family in the summer of 1963, he isn't expecting anything more than days in the sun and games of croquet, but when he and his cousin Rachel meet the staff dance instructors, his plans get thrown for a loop. Blaine's family vacation might just end up being the time of his life. A Klaine Dirty Dancing AU.
Another Life by wintercreek It’s a typical Wednesday. Except for the part where Kurt’s in a suit, wearing the glasses he got last spring but usually only wears just before bed and in extreme contact solution shortages, and miming some sort of imperious dialog with an empty chair.
you go to my head by regala_electra Cuddly tipsy friends celebrating and enjoying inappropriate times together.
life tearing at the seams by regala_electra It’s amazing how the right distressed designer wear can be mistaken for something one of the dangerous kids would wear. Kurt Hummel, one of the outcasts of McKinley High, dreams of leaving Lima behind. Then Blaine Anderson transfers during Kurt's senior year.
Pavlovian by rospeaks Kurt uses kisses as positive reinforcement without even realizing it. This is very detrimental in the kitchen, unfortunately.
Somebody Kind by robotsfighting Kurt is sick; Blaine is very insistently helpful.
To the Moon and Back by idoltina Blaine Anderson is four when he decides he wants to be an astronaut.
Since The Day We Found You by robotsfighting The Hummel-Hudson house feels like home to Blaine, in a way that his own house never has.
education in harmony by blackmustache Blaine doesn't meet Kurt during his sophomore year at Dalton - but fate intervenes and makes sure they still cross paths a little later in their lives.
Lamb in The Wood by idoltina Six years after New Directions graduates from William McKinley High School, Kurt and Blaine share an apartment in New York. In the early hours of the morning, a phone call from Quinn rocks their world. • warning for character death (artie)
Intertwined and Overrun by idoltina Blaine is nineteen and home for the summer, a newly minted college sophomore. The hospital lights are blindingly bright, but the world has never been darker.
Let it Snow by santaklaine Kurt pinpoints the very moment his heart stops while on vacation at a ski resort with Blaine over the holidays. The vacation gets better after that.
Life and Times of Author B.A. Dalton by oncetwiceforevr Blaine Anderson (aka B.A. Dalton) is a writer from Los Angeles. Kurt Hummel changes him.
The Boy on The Seesaw by regala_electra He’s gay. It’s not the end of the world. He’s pretty sure of that, at least he thinks so, and he’s trying to figure it out, but deep down he always knew, even before he had a real word to put there, pinning over his heart three letters gay and the world’s changed forever. Blaine Anderson's life as seen through several memorable summers and a conversation before his 16th summer vacation.
It’s Only Time by warble_on The summer before Kurt is to leave for college in New York, he creates a way to keep close to Blaine when they’re apart.
Runner!Klaine verse by YourFairyGodfather Kurt is running his very first marathon for Reasons (and they're really good ones. Probably). Blaine is a marathon junkie with a total disregard for how good looking he is at seven in the morning (or in spandex pants). It's a good thing they're made for each other, because there are 26 more miles to the finish line.
In the Haze by oncetwiceforevr Blaine Anderson is a firefighter in NYC. One day, he meets Kurt Hummel. This is their story.
One’s Impossible, Two is Dreary by Lokei Kurt’s voice in his ear is warm and evens out all of the jagged edges on Blaine’s insides. “I’m back early from Callbacks and wanted to make sure to respond to you before it got too late. Care to explain this text?”
In Sickness and in... by flaming_muse There’s just Blaine, his hot pillow, and the heavy winter clouds pressing down on his chest. Futurefic.
Not The Boy Next Door by wordplay Blaine Anderson is a struggling musician with a new job. This is the story of everything he finds there. • fic is kinda incomplete without the images but they’re still within the pdf/epub, *here*
One Foot In Front Of The Other by apropensityforcharm 6x11 reaction. In which Blaine’s first day at NYU isn’t too great, until Elliott shows up.
History Books Forgot About Us by apropensityforcharm 6x05 reaction. Ten teeny tiny moments of beautiful, ordinary love between Kurt and Blaine. Inspired by the Heads Up game in the elevator.
★★★  Stunning and Cadaverous by rm (arem) AU. Blaine's back home in Lima because his father is dying. He meets Kurt for the first time in the Lima Bean when he accidentally spills coffee all over him. Turns out Kurt's a funeral director. But that's not really the strangest thing about either of them.
Eventually I’ll Get the Guy by mailroomorder When Blaine goes to college and moves into the dorms, there are a few things that are more difficult than expected; it's hard to jerk off when you're living in a dorm surrounded by people, and it's even more frustrating when the person you're fantasizing about is your roommate.
Extended Families by imaginentertain Blaine has an interesting relationship with his boyfriend's father

Here’s how the PGA Tour plans to return without fans in June
Tumblr media
Golf now has a real plan to return — but it’s aspirational without expanded testing, puts an end to The Greenbrier for good, and might end up with Tiger Woods prepping for The Masters in Jackson, Mississippi.
Let’s start with the obvious positives. We’re all running thin on Netflix specials, on new books to read, whatever. After five-some weeks isolated and socially distanced with little to watch, everyone’s ready for sport to come back to our lives — in any format we can get it. Aggressively ahead of most other professional sports organizations on plotting a return, the PGA Tour announced Thursday morning a plan to resume play starting June 8.
The question isn’t if we want sports back. The person you know that loathes golf the most would probably settle for a sleepy Saturday afternoon 3M Open broadcast right now. It’s a matter if it’s right for the country and the world during this global pandemic.
Here’s what you need to know — and what to think about as we’re looking at this new schedule.
The Tour’s timeline to return is aggressive and will require extensive travel. Can that actually happen?
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who’s been a shining light of truth for many through this crisis, indicated just yesterday that there’s a path for sport to return this summer — playing without fans.
That’s not a problem for the Tour, which seems to be prepared to play events without galleries for several weeks. The return in Fort Worth at Colonial won’t feature anyone in the grandstands, nor will any event through the Rocket Mortgage Classic on the weekend of July 4 in Detroit. PGA of America president Seth Waugh has said the organization is prepared to play the August PGA Championship without fans at Harding Park in San Francisco. At the very least, the governing bodies are prepared for the reality that fans may not be present at golf tournaments for a long time.
But there’s one other item Fauci noted in his comments earlier in the week that would be a massive problem for the Tour’s proposed schedule — keeping the players quarantined, isolated, and restricted to a small geographic area.
“There’s a way of [returning].” Fauci told Snapchat on Tuesday when speaking about a possible return for Major League Baseball. “Nobody comes to the stadium. Put [the players] in big hotels, wherever you want to play, keep them very well surveilled. ... Have them tested every single week and make sure they don’t wind up infecting each other or their family, and just let them play the season out.”
Golf has an advantage other sports don’t in this struggle to return to normalcy. The game is by nature spread out over hundreds of acres, outdoors. It’s not a contact sport, save for interaction with a caddie. That makes it relatively easy to still adhere to six-feet-apart social distancing guidelines during competition.
But the PGA Tour’s proposed schedule would struggle to meet the standard Fauci and others advise of sequestering athletes in a defined localized area. The MLB, NBA, EPL, and other leagues have all reportedly floated ideas to isolate players to complete seasons in places like Las Vegas or Arizona. The Tour is not doing that here. If regional and local containment becomes a priority and testing cannot increase to the capacity needed, is it safe to have professional golfers and a traveling cadre of broadcasters, support staff, and others? Despite the announced plans, the Tour seems to at least be keeping that in mind.
PGA Tour exec Andy Pazder expresses confidence that increased testing availability will facilitate a June re-start of competition but adds, "We will play only when we are certain that it is safe and responsible to do so."

RIP to the Greenbrier event, which is gone from the schedule for good
The casualty of all the schedule shuffling? The Greenbrier, which has been bumped around several times in recent years, is off the schedule for good.
There’s perhaps no full-field PGA Tour event in the modern era that’s had as weird and circuitous a history as the West Virginia event. Added to the schedule in 2010 to replace the longstanding, fan-favorite Buick Open, the tournament opened with a bang with Stuart Appleby’s stunning final-round 59 to beat Jeff Overton. That started a nice run, including appearances by Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, even during an often-shifting July date.
Then came the devastating floods that hit West Virginia in 2016, forcing the cancellation of the event, from which the tournament never really recovered. The later arc of the event brought us the somewhat bizarre, flag-loving A Military Tribute At The Greenbrier name. The final death knell to the relationship between the resort and the Tour may have been the choice to move the event from July to September as part of the 2019 schedule changes — which no matter the spin, is a less desirable date for a golf event opposite football.
The Tour’s contract with the Greenbrier ran through 2026, but both sides were ready to walk. So, goodbye to Old White and summer in West Virginia. You were nothing if not weird.
The off-season for pro golfers is suddenly, uh, right now
We often joke about the year-round, never-ending professional golf schedule. The true 2019-20 PGA Tour schedule provided all of a couple of weeks off between the season-ending Tour Championship and the aforementioned September Greenbrier. Still, there’s a usual ebb-and-flow to things for top players. Start ramping up the schedule slowly in January, February, March to prepare for the usual summer major months, then play sparingly in fall downtime.
That won’t be happening this year. The reshuffling has created a back-loaded 2020 schedule with odd rhythms and weird travel patterns leading into majors for the top players. Consider this example: If a player wants to make a couple of pre-Masters warm up starts, but doesn’t want to play the week prior in Houston, they’ll have to leave the country. The entire lead-up to the biggest tournament of the year features events in Korea, Japan, China, and Bermuda — during a global pandemic! Lots of players aren’t going to love that, probably Woods included.
The FedExCup Playoffs-U.S. Open combo in August-September will cause weirdness, too. What if Jordan Spieth, now 110th in the FedExCup standings, doesn’t qualify for the BMW Championship? Does he opt to play on the other side of the country the week before the U.S. Open? Come in with a month off ahead of a major? Or look somewhere else — like another Tour, for a start? It’s bizarre to even consider, but we’re going to see oddities in individual schedules like this all year.
Here’s the rest of the full, revised schedule — for now.
Revised 2019-20 PGA Tour Season schedule:
NO FANS June 8-14: Charles Schwab Challenge, Colonial Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas
NO FANS June 15-21: RBC Heritage, Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head, South Carolina
NO FANS June 22-28: Travelers Championship, TPC River Highlands, Cromwell, Connecticut
NO FANS July 2-July 5: Rocket Mortgage Classic, Detroit Golf Club, Detroit
July 6-12: John Deere Classic, TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Illinois
July 13-19: the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide, Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio
July 20-26: 3M Open, TPC Twin Cities, Blaine, Minnesota
July 27-Aug. 2: World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, TPC Southwind, Memphis
July 27-Aug. 2: Barracuda Championship, Tahoe Mountain Club (Old Greenwood), Truckee, California
Aug. 3-9: PGA Championship, TPC Harding Park, San Francisco
Aug. 10-16: Wyndham Championship, Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, North Carolina
Aug. 17-23: The Northern Trust, TPC Boston, Norton, Massachusetts
Aug. 24-30: BMW Championship, Olympia Fields Country Club (North), Olympia Fields, Illinois
Aug. 31-Sept. 7: Tour Championship, East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta
And because the Gregorian Calendar stopped mattering on the PGA Tour schedule a few years ago, here’s where the new “season” begins in the fall. If you’re going by the definition of “season,” next year’s Tour schedule will have six majors in it, if all goes according to this plan.
2020-21 PGA Tour Season Schedule (fall portion):
Sept. 7-13: Safeway Open, Silverado Resort and Spa North, Napa, California
Sept. 14-20: U.S. Open, Winged Foot Golf Club, Mamaroneck, New York
Sept. 21-27: Ryder Cup, Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin
Sept. 21-27: Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, Corales Golf Club, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Sept. 28-Oct. 4: Sanderson Farms Championship, Country Club of Jackson, Jackson, Mississippi
Oct. 5-11: Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas
Oct. 12-18: The CJ Cup, Nine Bridges, Jeju Island, Korea
Oct. 19-25: Zozo Championship, Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, Chiba Prefecture, Japan
Oct. 26-Nov. 1: World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions, Sheshan International Golf Club, Shanghai, China
Oct. 26-Nov. 1: Bermuda Championship, Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton, Bermuda
Nov. 2-8: Houston Open, Memorial Park Golf Course, Houston
Nove. 9-15: Masters Tournament, Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia
Nov. 16-22: The RSM Classic, Sea Island Resort (Seaside and Plantation), Sea Island, Georgia
Nov. 23-29: Open week (Thanksgiving)
Nov. 30-Dec. 6: Mayakoba Golf Classic, El Camaleón Golf Club, Playa del Carmen, Mexico
Nov. 30-Dec. 6: Hero World Challenge, Albany, New Providence, Bahamas

This story is gifted to @theygettogetherintheend, whose friendship and beta skills I value highly.
This is a short story that I’ve written for Grlnxtdr29’s Klaine Christmas Eve Challenge on this site. The prompts words are “rocking horse” and “tinsel”. I’ve also incorporated 42 Klaine Advent prompts into the story as well. It’s a two-for-one prompt challenge fill!
The story is based upon an actual resort, although I’ve never visited it. The Rocking Horse Ranch Resort is located about 90 miles north of New York City, nestled on 500-acres in the heart of the scenic Hudson River Valley.
Photos of things in the story are under the cut. For AO3 readers, they are hyperlinked within the story.

The Headmistress has graciously (and through a lot of teeth pulling, several threats to her trophy case and lack of additional options) allowed the school use of her private island and paradise resort (which is often for Cheerio retreats and was purchased after selling interviews to news reporters and syphoning of Glee funds and donations) for the Winter trip! As it is a private island, it will be left to the school to be on with staff coming in by boat to assist. There will also be daily trips/boat shuttles to Costa Rica a mere 30 minute boat ride away! We will be gone January 15th - January 20th.

All students must be in their assigned rooms between 1am-6am daily.
There will be no drug use of any kind tolerated.

Be respectful to all guards, staff, and other met on the mainland. You will represent the school on this trip - use your manners.
No one can go to the mainland alone - groups of 2 or more only with following the escort rule of the school. Boats will leave and return on the hour to go to the main land the students can use during free times.
ACCOMODATIONS
Students will be placed in groups in different cabins which are equipped with: a living area, 3 bedrooms (with a King bed, two queens, and two twins), 2 bathrooms, a patio to the beach, fire pit, and kitchenette. The cabins are furnished with TV, Bluray (with rentals available) streaming devices, and all major appliances.

So, same as always, if there are any plots to occur PLEASE run it by the admins first. Remember that there will be guards and staff will be around so if your character breaks a rule, a punishment will occur. Keep in mind, most of this will be F2F interactions, so there’s always a chance people will be seen/noticed/overheard etc. Any questions, hit us up. Also, those strike outs in the beginning are not IC knowledge but a fun HC J and I came up with that Sue absolutely has her own island that she bought from her own fundraising and skimming off the top of the Glee Club budget and that she usually only allows Cheerios there. She probably named it something mean towards Will, but we haven’t come up with it yet.

5 Questions with Atlanta Braves SVP Adam Zimmerman
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Branding has shifted over the past decade from ensuring consistency to stimulating desire; from creating functional and emotional differentiation to fundamentally changing the way a business goes to market; and from communicating the consumer experience to actually shaping it. Adam Zimmerman and the Atlanta Braves are a case study in this inspired thinking. Here, brandchannel talks to Zimmerman, the Braves’ SVP of Marketing, about the bold moves his club has taken to leap ahead of customers and competitors around Major League Baseball and beyond. —Blaine McEvoy
What is the human truth at the center of the Braves’ brand?
We constantly remind ourselves of the role that we play in people’s lives. And I don’t think that’s a hyperbole. People share remarkable stories of what’s happened to them at our stadiums, first at Turner Field and now at SunTrust Park. Things like, “I met my wife there,” and “my grandfather introduced me to baseball and it was the last thing we did before he died.” Those are really powerful things that people carry around. And our brand is attached to all of them. But what really differentiates us is our “Southerness.” People visit Atlanta and move here from all over the world. We’ve got a great music scene, a great food scene, and gentle, old-fashioned core values that everyone agrees on to a certain extent. Think “yes sir” and “no sir.” Think the “thank you, ma’am” and “be nice to your neighbor” mantra. We’re warm and friendly. Those are our truths.
How do you activate that, authentically and attractively, for fans of the club?
Our research says the number one reason why people buy tickets is what I’ll call the “on-field product:” they want to see a good game, and they want to see the Braves win. As a marketer, that’s something I can’t control. But what I can control is how they feel when they come here. Fans and visitors should feel that they are experiencing some of the attributes of the South. Remember southern hospitality? Well, we embody that. We live that every day. It’s what we teach our front-line staff—the ushers, greeters, ticket takers, and people who wipe down your seat. They are really our brand. Over time, they get to know our fans by name. But we’re not only doing face-to-face interactions. We’ve also invested heavily in our app. So we know if it’s your first game. We know if it’s your birthday. We know if you’re having an anniversary. And we’re able to scale that. Maybe 500 people are celebrating something in the ballpark tonight. We make sure that they are celebrated. We go that extra mile through face-to-face interactions, and through data and analytics, to really serve-up something that makes you feel appreciated and like an honored guest.
What big, bold bets are the Braves making to leap ahead of competitor and customer expectations?
There are four ways to make money in professional sports: tickets, food, merchandise, and media rights. What we’ve done is added a fifth—commercial real estate, that we own and operate. In every space, we ask ourselves, “How can the Braves brand live and breathe here, 365 days a year, and act as a destination for people?” That gave us the permission to partner with Live Nation, who we’re 50/50 with on a 4,000-person music venue. We also partnered with Omni Hotels & Resorts to see what a hotel experience should look like today. They helped us with all of our bars, restaurants, and shops. We have the fastest Wi-Fi network right now in North America. In today’s environment, you’ve got to provide the opportunity for your fans to be totally immersed. You are reminded of the Braves brand in everything you see and do here. It’s unique amongst professional teams and something that people have come from all over the country to study.
What should a more traditional brand builder take away from this conversation?
You’ve got to take a risk: put things out there that you hope people will bite on, and then play it from there. That’s where our real estate play began. We asked ourselves, “if we had our own neighborhood, what could that look like?” We wanted to create an environment where people who were on a date could have that experience. And people that are out here to party, they can have that experience. And people who are serious fans, they can really get into the game and ballpark. In short, we designed our stadium around modern customer expectations.
But can reinvention go too far?
There were some things that we just put out there to see if they will take. Honestly, we’re constantly doing that. One of the mantras we have here is, “wouldn’t it be cool if…?” Well, one day we said, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we had a DJ who played under a big baseball strobe light that transformed our parking lot into a club every Friday and Saturday night? It might suck. People might hate it. But they might love it.” And guess what: they do. So you have to encourage your people to dream, and have the courage to activate that bravery every day.

Name: Laura
Nicknames: I don’t have a lot of nicknames?  Mr. Seldnei calls me “sweetest” and “my lovely wife”; my father calls me “Squirt” (yes, I have more in common with Blaine Anderson than a hatred of socks).
Zodiac sign: Aries
Height: 5′6″.
Orientation: I’m heterosexual and monogamous. And I try to be a good ally.
Ethnicity: Caucasian--my family background is primarily the British Isles.
Favorite fruit: I just don’t like fruit much--texture issues!  But I do like most berries if I don’t think too much about them as I eat them.
Favorite season: Fall, for the temperatures.  But I love the thunderstorms in summer down here.
Favorite book: The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley.
Favorite flowers: Roses.  I also like snapdragons and petunias.
Favorite scent: Cedar.  Eucalyptus.  Whatever deodorant Mr. Seldnei’s been using lately.
Favorite color: Green!
Favorite animal: Sphinx cats.  I like a good, evil, soul-eating animal.  I’m still mad that the evil twin-in-law got the sphinx cat as a patronus, and I got a weasel.
Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate: Tea, out of this list.  English breakfast, with sugar and milk.
Average Sleep Hours: about 6-7 hours. I wake up between 4 and 5 every morning, and I may or may not fall back to sleep.
Cat or Dog person? My obsession with hairless cats aside, I’m not really an animal person?  We had cats when I was a kid, and I still dig them, but I developed a cat allergy when I turned 12 or so.  My parents had dogs from the time I was 14 until just before Z was born, and I enjoyed the dogs, as well.  But the hair, the vet bills, the responsibilities ... I think I’m happy with fish, as an adult.  The boy wants a pet hedgehog, but I’m not up for it.
Favorite Fictional Character: Oh, lord, too many to even list.  Okay, so Mr. Seldnei asked me to come dry some dishes, so as I did that, I asked him what he thought my favorite fictional character is:  “It could be Disney horses--but that could also be the horse from Hero and the Crown, or possibly the main character from Hero and the Crown.”  So either Talat or Aerin, or any horse in a Disney movie.
Number of Blankets you sleep with: Does a comforter count as a blanket?  If so, 1-2.
Ideal trip: This changes, but ... right now, I’d love to take a week-long trip to Disney World and stay at one of the super-fancy resorts with a pool that has a slide, where the suite would get cleaned while I was gone, and the staff leave cute towel animals on the bed and in the bathrooms.  I’d like enough money to tip REALLY REALLY WELL and enough time to hit all the parks and explore the resort.
Blog created: Oh my god, 2012?!  I’ve been on Tumblr 5 years?!  I’ve only been on Tumblr 5 years?!  Actually, I might have started this thing in 2011 and taken a year before I actually posted anything.
Number of followers: I recently blocked all the porn bots, and came to 126.  Which is 124 more than I ever expected to have, so thanks, y’all!  It still boggles my mind that people actually follow this weird collection of stuff I find interesting and my random babble.
Tagging ... hell, I don’t know, who wants to?  I am always interested to hear trivia about all y’all, but I always feel weird tagging people.

Ryan faces diciest stretch of his speakership
The following newsletter is an abridged version of Campaign Pro’s Morning Score. For an earlier morning read on exponentially more races — and for a more comprehensive aggregation of the day’s most important campaign news — sign up for Campaign Pro today. (http://www.politicopro.com/proinfo)
UP ON THE HILL — “Ryan faces diciest stretch of his speakership,” by POLITICO’s Rachael Bade in Racine, Wis.: “For all its power and prestige, the speaker of the House is one of the most thankless jobs in Washington — just ask John Boehner. Now, with Congress barreling toward major fiscal fights this fall, Paul Ryan is about to get a taste of the Boehner treatment — and then some. Consider what’s on the immediate horizon for the GOP wunderkind: President Donald Trump is ready to shut down the government over his border wall with Mexico. Breitbart has all but declared a renewed, Steve Bannon-led war on GOP leaders, with Ryan in its crosshairs. And conservative lawmakers are exhorting the speaker to play hardball on raising the debt ceiling — even as the White House demands a no-strings-attached increase to calm nervous creditors. ‘Conservatives aren’t going to roll over when it comes to the debt ceiling,’ said Republican Study Committee Chairman Mark Walker (R-N.C.) in a Tuesday interview. ‘I can tell you: It’s going to be a battle.’” Full story.
Story Continued Below
FEC VIOLATIONS — “Major GOP donor admits to campaign finance law violations,” by Campaign Pro’s Kevin Robillard: “A chain of for-profit hospitals owned by a major GOP donor admitted to illegally reimbursing executives for hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations to political candidates over a decade-long period, according to FEC documents obtained by POLITICO. In the documents, made public Thursday, Cancer Treatment Centers of America admits to paying out $700,000 over a 12-year period ending in 2014 to reimburse donations to 31 different political candidates. The company’s founder, Richard Stephenson, has donated hundreds of thousands to Republican politicians and committees and once served as a top board member of the conservative group FreedomWorks. A spokesman for Stephenson pointed out the FEC found the company’s misbehavior was not ‘knowing and willful.’” Full story.
WILL SHE, WON’T SHE — “Collins weighing decision: stay in Senate or run for governor?” via WLBZ: “Senator Susan Collins says she will decide sometime in September whether to run for Governor. A number of Republicans have been urging Collins to enter the race for the Blaine House, though she says it is a very difficult decision.” Full story.
MEANWHILE — “LePage: Collins ‘highly unlikely’ to win GOP gubernatorial primary,” by Campaign Pro’s Daniel Strauss: “Maine Gov. Paul LePage predicted Thursday that Sen. Susan Collins would probably lose a Republican primary in the state if she decides to run for governor. LePage was asked about the possibility that Collins would try to succeed him during an interview with Maine’s WGAN, and he offered his latest round of criticism of his fellow Republican.” Full story.
2020 WATCH — “Donald Trump’s Team Is In 2020 Mode At The RNC’s Summer Meeting,” by Buzzfeed’s Henry J. Gomez: “President Donald Trump is staging extraordinarily early re-election rallies, and his former pollster already is testing his strength against speculative primary challengers. But the most tangible signs that Trump and his allies are dashing into 2020 mode are happening in a much quieter place: the Republican National Committee’s summer meetings here in Nashville. Brad Parscale, a trusted adviser, served as the Trump family’s eyes and ears at a Wednesday budget session. He and Michael Glassner, the head of Trump’s campaign committee, were among the key aides seen chatting up RNC members in the halls and at the bars and restaurants inside the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.” Full story.

EASY LISTENING — “Nerdcast: No retreat, no surrender,” with POLITICO’s Nancy Cook, Michael Crowley and Josh Dawsey. Listen to the full episode here.
POLLING DATA — “Roy Moore, Luther Strange in statistical dead heat in Senate race,” via AL.com’s Howard Koplowitz: “Incumbent Sen. Luther Strange is gaining ground on former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, with the race in the Republican Senate runoff being a statistical dead heat, according to a survey released Thursday. The poll, commissioned by the Senate Leadership Fund a Mitch McConnell-connected super PAC backing Strange, shows Moore ahead by 4 percentage points — 45 percent to 41 percent with a 4 percent margin of error. The survey shows a much closer race than another poll released earlier this week that had Moore with a 19-point advantage over Strange. Moore led all candidates with 39 percent in last week’s Republican primary; Strange qualified for the September runoff with 33 percent of the vote.” Full story.
— “The Alabama Senate race is a mirror image of the presidential election,” via The Washington Post’s Amber Phillips: “An establishment candidate is running for his political life against a controversial, say-anything figure who the elites despise. And against all political logic, the establishment may very well lose.” Full story.
LOAN GONE BAD — “Are Manchin and Puccio still investors in tanking hotel deal? That’s clear as mud,” via WV Metro News: “Senator Joe Manchin and longtime aide Larry Puccio are listed among the borrowers in the original $15,470,000 loan for Hilton Garden Inn Morgantown at Sun Crest Town Center that is now going bad. A lawsuit filed August 8 on behalf of the original lender continues to list Manchin and Puccio as if they remain investors. But Manchin’s staff and Puccio have said repeatedly that they are not investors in the hotel. So what happened? Was there a mistake on the front end? Did they pull their investments along the way? So far, no one is clearing up that mystery.” Full story.
CHARLOTTESVILLE FALLOUT — “Schumer: After Charlottesville, end Trump’s voter fraud commission,” by POLITICO’s Elana Schor: “Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday pressed President Donald Trump to shutter the commission investigating Trump’s unfounded theories of massive voter fraud in the 2016 election, linking voter disenfranchisement to the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. If Trump does not dismantle the Election Integrity Commission — which has sparked controversy as state officials in both parties refuse to hand over voter information to the administration — Schumer urged Congress to ‘prohibit its operation through one of the must-pass legislative vehicles’ that are set to get considered next month.” Full story.
TECH WATCH — “NGP VAN unveils new iteration of software ahead of midterm cycle,” via Campaigns & Elections: “Call time is about to change for the Democratic fundraisers and candidates using their party’s most popular engagement platform. NGP VAN unveiled the eighth edition of its namesake NGP software this week, and paperless call time is one of its headline features. The update is meant to help streamline one of the most hated parts of campaigning — dialing for dollars — and could help stave off competition from potential rivals.” Full story.
ON THE ROAD — Jolly, Murphy to tour Florida to talk Washington gridlock: Former Republican Rep. David Jolly and former Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy will hit the road in Florida this fall to host town halls to talk about the dysfunction in Washington. Four stops are already scheduled, with the first on Sept. 12 in Tampa at the University of South Florida, per a statement from the group.
BLAST FROM THE PAST — “Tom Tancredo, upset about canceled white nationalist event, weighs another run for Colorado governor,” via The Denver Post’s John Frank: “Former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo is considering a run for Colorado governor in 2018 in a move that he hopes is a shot across the bow at the Republican Party. The conservative firebrand told The Denver Post on Wednesday that he is thinking about another run after two losing bids in 2010 and 2014. ‘I certainly have concerns about the party and the people running,’ he said in an interview.” Full story.
ADMINISTRATION SPEED READ — “Oil and gas allies to Trump: Slow down,” by POLITICO’s Ben Lefebvre: “President Donald Trump’s aggressive drive to roll back environmental regulations is moving too fast even for some in the oil and gas industry. Publicly, petroleum companies and their trade groups are cheering Trump’s efforts to undo former President Barack Obama’s environmental regulations, including restrictions on fracking-related pollution, pipeline permits and offshore drilling. But quietly, people in the industry are growing worried that deregulation could backfire on them, according to interviews with a dozen executives, lobbyists, lawyers and analysts. Among their fears: Laxer rules could set the stage for an environmental disaster like 2010’s BP oil spill in the Gulf, which blackened the industry’s reputation and spurred a regulatory clampdown.” Full story.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “2020 is a really long ways away.” — GOP Rep. Will Hurd, declining to confirm to MSNBC if he will support President Trump in his reelection bid, The Washington Examiner reported.
