T. Bellefleur; "Your whole world? Bold words, munchkin, bold words." They turn their head and nip at your fingers, taking advantage of your surprise to drape themself over you and smother you in kisses.

M. Serrel; They seem to be lost for words, for a moment, their usual smooth façade crumbling momentarily in place of a surprised giggle and a red face. They recover quickly, however, scooping you up and twirling you round delightedly.

A. Bellefleur; Would probably follow MC to the door, and out the door if needs be, pouting all the while and whining about how they missed a step before leaving. If they do manage to follow MC out, you can guarantee they've forgotten their keys, MC will have to let them back into the house (they are very sheepish and throw in an extra kiss for good measure).

K. Valiev; Would catch MC before they leave and press a gentle kiss to their forehead, light-heartedly chiding them about forgetting. Over the next couple of days they might teasingly remind MC, you know, 'just in case'.

A. Caras; Probably wouldn't notice, consciously, but they know all day that just something is off, and they head to work feeling odd. When they both get home in the evening, and they see MC, it will finally click, and they will grumble quietly about a 'ruined day' over something 'so stupid'. You find them waiting at the door for their kiss for the next few days.

T. Bellefleur; They're surprised by how much it bothers them, once they notice. They don't mention it all day, until you're both done for the evening, where they casually bring up that they missed your 'silly' routine and that you 'better not forget it again'. There is an odd level of (mostly concealed) anxiety to the jab, and they on and off watch you the next few times you leave, just to make sure you're honouring your word.

M. Serrel; They reel you back in, pulling you close, and refuse to let you go until you've fulfilled the 'kiss quota' (they never give you a number, so you just pepper their face until they giggle and push you out the door, which usually works). They've not made you late, yet, but they get damn close sometimes, you wonder if they're doing it on purpose or if lady luck just loves them.

K. Valiev; they barely flinch, smiling confusedly at you. once you explain they nod in understanding, you notice that they aren't wearing their heavy armour around you if they can possibly help it (they wear their light armour, the material softer on your mouth and teeth)

A. Caras; they grumble at you, asking what the hell that was for. once you explain, you find that they start doing the same to you every so often, their teeth grazing your shoulder or arm before they go back to whatever they were doing

T. Bellefleur; laughs, asking you what you think you're doing. once you explain, they laugh delightedly, pressing a light kiss to your cheek ("in that case, firecracker, you can bite me whenever you want," they grin proudly, overjoyed at your alternate method of affection)

Relationship Stage;

A. Bellefleur; They love you so wholly it's almost scary. They look to you as if you're their whole world, they would raze kingdoms to the ground if you were to only say the word, and their loyalty is unmatched. Money is no object and you often find little trinkets (or jewellery, if that suits your taste) waiting when you return to your room, a sweet message or poem written on the gift box tag. Their communication is excellent and they are quick to put their diplomatic training into use, apologising and compromising where necessary until you are both content again after an argument.

K. Valiev; They love as if you will break apart under their touch. They are gentle, almost reverent, in every soft touch of their hand against your form. They are protective and steady, a constant calming presence for you to rely on whenever you need, a sturdy rock in a raging ocean. Even if you're busy, they'll take time out of their patrol to visit, snaking their arms arounf you and resting against your head whilst you work. They will struggle a bit if you ask for space after an argument, however will of course respect your wishes, likely going to cook your favourite dish for you, you can talk it out together over the excellently prepared meal.

Their love is a surprise, a surprise hug, a gentle peck on your cheek when you least expect it, your favourite flowers laid neatly on the desk in your room (though if you look closely there is dirt on the stems and the ribbon is clumsily tied, matching mud staining their clothes when you next see them). Their day is busy, and you know that, yet somehow each time you come to check on them, they are somehow free enough to sit and chat (you once saw them push a stack of papers behind them as you walked in, but decided not to mention it). They are prickly after an argument, snapping if you speak to them too soon (though regret is the only thing behind their gaze), it's best to let them start the conversation. If you try to leave them be, a hand will dart out and gently grasp your wrist, keeping you close by.

T. Bellefleur; They love like you're the only two in the room. It was disconcerting at first, the intensity behind their gaze, the swirling mix of emotion that was so overpowering it became a void. Spending more time with them, however, gave you insight. They were a worrywart hidden by snark, their affection for you tinged with a healthy level of sarcasm (the heat behind it melting into softness). Their gruffness and grumbles turned into quiet murmuring at some point, random declarations of love or your beauty, spoken for your ears only (or into your shoulder, if you're cuddling). They are...cold after arguments, more like the royal you had first met, approach them gently but firmly, explain why you said what you said or did what you did (in this case, logic is your friend).

M. Serrel; They love like they kill. They are smooth, subtle, so much so that you barely notice. Until you do. Until you realise that your clothes are always clean and neatly put away, that your paperwork is stacked carefully on your desk, and then you can't un-notice it. They weave their way into your routine with a practiced adaptability, a seamless transition from separate to together (losing none of their usual suaveness and, quit honestly, heart racing flirting). They very rarely apologise after an argument, unless you express that the words themselves are important, but you notice that they never make that mistake again, and your usual chores are miraculously done by the time you get round to them.

after a little bit of consideration i've actually decided that i should be able to safely answer this, if i don't go into too much detail, so you're in luck ;)

An active battlefield. Not quite what you were used to but, of course, that's likely why the Queen had insisted on doing a simulation (something about everyone having to be prepared, you honestly couldn't pay too much attention as you were hustled out onto the palace grounds). It had been going well, you could dodge and parry and strike, then rinse and repeat, until one guard got slightly too close to hitting your charge and all you could do was throw your arm in the way of their blade...

A. Bellefleur;

It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't- There was blood. The blade had slice over your arm, opening a mostly superficial wound into it, though there was blood soaking into your sleeve. The guard was apologising profusely, you were ensuring them you were fine, there were no hard feelings...except. Except A. felt guilt, a burning in their chest that threatened to consume them. They knew it would come, they had felt it once before, as soon as they realised what had happened.

You don't see them again until their next meeting, and you can hear the scratch in their voice when they speak, as though they had been crying for a long, long time.

K. Valiev;

They're at your side in a second, hands hovering over your arm, not quite touching (as though they were afraid to touch you), worry creasing their features. The guard that had hit you, however, seemed petrified, his apology yelped out like a wounded animal's cry, before he scurried away from the two of you, pointedly avoiding your gaze.

They get you settled in the infirmary, and then disappear for a while. When they reappear it's like nothing has happened, they bring you food and drink, and watch over you carefully. You notice, however, that the guard who injured you refuses to approach you, and you could swear he looks afraid if you get too close...

A. Caras;

Their gripes echo over the sounds around you as they march over ("Are you stupid? This is a practice, I'm not supposed to get work during a practice!"), their bag of equipment thrown over their shoulder, having gone to collect it after you protected them. The guard apologises to both of you and scuttles off, and the fire in Caras' eyes turns on you. You don't dare move as they patch you up, disinfecting and wrapping your wound with a firmness that would have been a little frightening if you hadn't known for certain they were being careful not to hurt you.

You notice, being that close, that their hands are trembling ever so slightly as they work, and when they stand they make sure to get close enough so that only you can hear them.

"Don't ever do that again."

They don't sound like they're just being self-deprecating or protective this time.

T. Bellefleur;

It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't serious. MC was fine. It wasn't- There was blood. That whelp had dared to touch you, to injure you. Their claymore was at his throat in seconds, an almost cruel grin pulling at their lips.

"Aaaand you're dead, better luck next time, hey?"

You had never seen them so angry, their usual bored monotone becoming hard and threatening, mirroring the look in their eyes. It softened, ever so slightly, when they looked at you, but the majority of it morphed into shame.

You don't see them for the rest of the week.

M. Serrel;

You don't see them during the rest of the battle, and you don't see them until Caras has left you alone in the infirmary that evening, at which point they seem to just sort of...appear.

"Now, Dove, what did you go and do that for? You know I can take care of myself."

They are chiding you light-heartedly, but there is something sad in their expression, behind their eyes, as their gaze lingers on your wounded arm. And they know. They know that you know. You can see it in the way they pull back, the way they drop a lingering kiss to the back of your hand and leave you ("to rest", they say, though you know that's not it).

"I couldn't bear to lose you too."

You don't see them again until you've healed, and when you do, they seem intent on pretending that nothing ever happened in the infirmary that night

hehe, i think general consensus is that A.B will be breaking (and then potentially mending) quite a few hearts— my partner is an angst writing god so i will be having him review those particular scenes, just to really rub salt into the wound lol

as for a release; i've got absolutely no clue for final release, i'm a second year university student so my schedule is wobbly at best, i write when i have free time (which, given the nature of my course, is luckily quite a bit by uni standards) so progress may be on the slower side

for the demo however: i'm looking to release the prologue and possibly part of chapter one by the end of this week (hopefully), so you can look forward to that in the meantime!

Caras; they don't trust like that, especially not with authority. they don't agree to the conditions in the first place, and if/when forced into it they almost immediately turn around. they are smiling sadly, and apologising, asking that you understand why they didn't take 'some lowlife god's' word for it. they wear your favourite flowers in their hair until the day that they die, telling you all about their week when they visit your grave at the weekends

MAKES IT;

K. Valiev; you say you're behind them? they believe you. they have such blind trust in you that they would, quite literally, go to hell and back. they give you the warmest smile upon reaching the surface, welcoming you back with a hug (you notice, despite their calm demeanour, that they squeeze you just a little tighter)

T. Bellefleur; they struggle, they really do, but they make it. they spend the journey sending back witty quips about the scenery, joking that they'll move the both of you into a flower field to make up for the time you've spent in the monochrome of the underworld. when you get to the surface you notice they're shaking as they turn around and look at you, picking you up by the waist and twirling you delightedly when they realise you're right there

M. Serrel; they issue you your own condition, as they start back: if you speak to them before the surface, they will turn back. there is determination in their voice as they say it, and almost immediately after you affirm you've heard, they begin to walk. if you speak again, they turn back, looking at you with a mix of sadness and betrayal as they apologised. if you don't speak then they make it, turning back to face you at the surface with a relieved smile, burying their head in the crook of your neck and apologising profusely

Bellefleur; clearly embarrassed, will do it to avoid the backache of sleeping on the floor (and too nice to suggest you sleep on the floor), they make sure all of the curtains are well and truly closed before slipping onto their side of the bed. they make a pillow wall between you and couldn't be closer to their edge of the bed if they tried (really, you wake up in the morning to them half hanging off of it). if you try to bring it up after you've left, they dodge the topic with a practiced diplomacy.

K. Valiev; you don't even have to ask, they're already setting up on the floor, one pillow and the spare blanket is enough for them. they could be convinced to share, however it would take so long that neither of you would get much sleep anyways (it's probably easier to just let it happen). if you try to bring it up after you've left, they give you the sweetest smile and assure you that it really was no trouble at all and they hope you slept alright.

Caras; they're on the floor, with their back to you, using their arm as a pillow. if you offer the bed you'll be ignored, they might take the spare blanket if you put it by them, but they seem content on the floor. there's no convincing them to move at all, they will not share with you. if you try to bring it up after you've left, they barely acknowledge their floor sleep, simply asking what you want as if sleeping easily on the floor was just an average occurrence.
