Chirp!

Rodimus shifted, turning his head to nuzzle further into Thunderclash’s side.

Chirp! Chirp!

Croooooo…

The red and yellow speedster frowned. What was that?

Chirrrp!

Cooo… crooooo.

Alright, what was that? Rodimus cracked one eye open and peered into the darkness surrounding his sleeping trine. The chirps and coos were very clear, as if right next to him. He lifted his head enough to look over at the sleeping jet on the other side of Thunder’s chest. He appeared to be sound asleep, an arm curled around a precious little bundle.

Chirrr-eep!

Rodimus spotted a pair of tiny hands reach up from the blanket Hawk was using as both a pillow and nest and grab his pointed nose. Another small chirp sounded from the little sparkling in his arm.

Coo…

Starhawk’s stabilizers fluttered and his lips twitched. He sleepily nudged his nose against Gracequake’s little hands as he purred out a few coos and trills, the sounds deep enough to be felt lightly rumbling across Thunderclash’s plating and into Rodimus’ own.

Ah, so the sounds were coming from those two. Interesting.

:Is Gracequake making those chirps?: Rodimus almost jumped when he received a private comm from Thunderclash. He looked up at the large bot’s golden face, seeing a sliver of red under hooded eyelids.

:Yeah, looks like she is.:

:Interesting…: Thunder’s chest slowly rose and fell with a sigh :I’m almost certain that’s seeker speak. Some form of it anyway, doesn’t sound Vosian.:

:Yeah?: Rodimus watched as Grace pawed at Starhawk’s silver face, chirping and trilling some more. His spark fluttered fondly as he noted the small smile on the resting flier’s face.

:Well, Gracequake is a grounder, not a flier.:

Ahh, that was kinda strange. Though come to think of it, Novabird didn’t chirp like a seeker when he was a bitty, and he was the only one of their three kids who could fly. Perhaps Gracequake just so happened to have inherited that special something? Who knows, it probably didn’t matter either. It was cute to listen and watch as she blindly explored the face of one of her parents with her soft little hands.

It looked like it was making Starhawk happy too, which was nice. These days his temper was quick to flare at even minor inconveniences. Despite all the movie nights, salty and sour energon candies, fancy polishes, slow dances in the privacy of their shared quarters, and even a couple of shiny objects as appeasement gifts, it was often difficult for Rodimus and Thunderclash to keep him content.

:But we’re not as tiny and adorable as Gracequake is,: Thunderclash reasoned. Rodimus gave the larger mech’s side a harsh yet playful prod.

:Whaaaat? I’m plenty cute!:

Thunders couldn’t help the chuckle that rattled his chest. Starhawk’s stabilizers waggled as he lifted his head to face the other two, one eye stubbornly sealed shut with sleep, “what’re you talkin’ ‘bout?”

“Nothing much,” Rodimus shrugged a shoulder before reaching an arm across Thunderclash’s chest, holding a finger out for Gracequake to grab onto. She had a pretty solid grip for something so small and delicate, “just how cute little Gracie is.”

Hawk’s stabilizers again waggled as he purred an agreement. He struggled to keep his eye open as he watched Rodimus wiggle his captured finger, getting the little sparkling to giggle and tighten her grip.

Starhawk let out a half-sparked huff when Thunderclash pushed his crest down over his eyes, silently telling him it was time to sleep. The jet didn’t have the energy to object as he shifted to get more comfortable and was softly snoring within seconds.

Literally cannot sleep so here’s some stuff on the kids lol

Oldest (rodihawk)-Novabird

Hybrid alt mode allows Nova to drive and fly despite only having two modes (bot and vehicle)

Inherited Roddy’s flame, but his white fire appears more like a sparkler than a proper flame, and stings

Daredevil, parkour master, gamer, adventurer

Despite being the oldest, he ends up being the shortest

Middle (rodiclash)-Flareblaze

Very Hot Rod 2.0 vibes

Speedframe but built more simply than Novabird

Also inherited Rodimus’ flame, able to release quick bursts of fire followed by loud booming sounds

Enjoys racing against his older brother and is pretty competitive

Tall and rather lanky

Youngest (thunderhawk)-Gracequake

Tiny bitlet that grows to be very big-huge, taller than Starhawk and Thunderclash

Despite her massive size and bulk she’s quick-footed and agile (very much lives up to both parts of her name)

Stronk

Very smiley, it takes a lot to make her upset

Likes playing video games with her oldest brother
