Hey I'm a little confused how the gens are separated for total drama, if its not too much trouble could you break down what's considered each gen?

sure!

gen 1 = total drama island (2007) cast. alejandro and sierra (and blaineley?) are generally considered a part of this gen even though they joined the cast in tdwt, i've also heard them referred to as gen 1.5

gen 2 = revenge of the island cast

gen 3 = pahkitew island cast

gen 4 = total drama island (2023) cast

the ridonculous race is where things get a little more confusing. they don't really have their own gen number because they're on a spinoff show, and characters from previous gens (noah, owen, geoff, leonard) are a part of it. so i tend to think of them as the rr cast. ive started going off of how the characters are separated on the td wiki main page (just scroll down a little bit). i hope this helps!

Total Drama timeline theory

So the timeline of total drama isn't very clear, mostly in later seasons, and I've been thinking a lot about how much time takes place between each season. So here's what I think

Island takes place during the summer, obviously, and lasts eight weeks. I'm assuming it ends like mid August or early September. End of summer.

Action takes place only a few days after island, mostly happening in the fall and maybe late summer.

World Tour begins January or February of the following year, a few months after Action, because in the celebrity manhunt special they mention the Drama Brothers hit single from "last year" so World Tour has to be after new years. The finale of World Tour is on April 2nd, the day after Cody's birthday, which is two episodes prior in the Drumheller episode. Sierra says that Cody's birthday is April 1st in the beginning of the season.

Revenge of the Island probably takes place during the summer, since they're back at Camp Wawanakwa which is a summer camp. The question is though, is it the summer that happens a mere two months after World Tour? Or a whole year later? In All Stars, Alejandro mentions being stuck in the robot suit for ONE year. Meaning that there is one year (and a few months) between World Tour and All Stars. Chris also says in the beginning of All Stars that he was in jail for a year. Since he was arrested at the end of Revenge, that means there a year between Revenge and All Stars.

(Sorry if this is confusing lol) ALL OF THIS PUT TOGETHER means that World Tour and Revenge of the Island are only 2 - 3 months (ish) apart. And All Stars is the following summer, one year later.

In All Stars, the majority of the Gen 1 characters are 18 years old, and the majority of Gen 2 characters 17. Noah and Owen are Gen 1 of course, and confirmed to be 19 in the Ridonculous Race. So RR is a year ish after All Stars.

On Pahkitew Island, Leonard is 16 years old, and is still 16 during the Ridonculous Race, meaning it's less than a year later. Pahkitew Island takes place somewhere between All Stars and RR, probably closer to RR.

And of course the reboot takes places in 2023, 15 years after TDI.

I don't know if these are silly questions or not, but I have some little league au questions. Are all the numbers on the kids' jerseys random, or is there thought behind what character gets what number?

Also, I remember you saying the reason Julia's hair is so short is because a raptor team member accident cut it off, but do you think Julia hates her hair that short or will she start liking it.

Lastly, is Zee's hair that short because they are a kid, and they haven't had that long to grow it out, or do they just prefer it that short?

Some of the jersey numbers have specific meanings, yes!! Some of them are just based on numbers that real hockey players have for different roles on the ice.

Some of the hockey number info might be wrong, I am admittedly still learning a lot about the sport myself. I’ve done a ton of research and such, but I could still definitely be wrong ajshsjsg

Here’s a list of their numbers and their meanings:

Wayne (17) - Same as canon.

Raj (8) - Same as canon.

Bowie (2) - He canonically won two crowns for Prom King & Queen. I think the fact that he describes himself as “going for the crown” when talking about winning Total Drama was interesting and it says a lot about his character, I think, in regards to how he views winning.

Scary Girl (11) - Based on hockey numbers!! She wanted to be a forward, but she plays as a goalie typically.

Priya (6) - Not counting RR, there have been six previous Total Drama seasons. I thought the reference was fitting for Priya.

MK (31) - Based on hockey numbers!! She plays as a goalie.

Ripper (10) - His status as the oldest kid on his team is important to him in this AU, so the fact that his number correlates with his age seemed fitting.

Axel (7) - The number seven looks a little bit like an axe, and I think Axel would appreciate that ajshsjsg

Nichelle (16) - It’s a reference to the fact that she became famous at the age of sixteen in canon.

Millie (3) - Her character arc was completed when she finished third.

Chase (13) - Thirteen is an unlucky number. Chase causes misfortune for a lot of people in canon.

Emma (15) - Based on hockey numbers!! She plays as a forward.

Julia (4) - Finishing fourth was a huge betrayal for her canonically.

The only characters that haven’t been assigned a number yet are Zee, Damien, and Caleb. I’m willing to take suggestions for their numbers!!

Julia eventually likes having short hair but she hates it at first.

fav: heather. i have so much to say about her but i’ll keep it brief, it’s obvious she has parental/family issues and she’s mean to compensate for the fact she’s insecure. so real, and she’s just rlly funny and well developed! heather haters wtf

least fav: cody. look.. ik i’ll get jumped but he’s just so BORING! out of many early boots of gen 1 the rest of them have fun personality traits or character development but he kinda just floats. like nothing rlly happened until world tour finale with him 😭

gen 2 —

fav: lightning! again with heather he has daddy issues and he’s mean but dumb.. but omfg he’s so funny. robbed in all stars and deserved his win, lightning haters NTFM 😭😭

least fav: sam. i was gonna pick staci cuz duh but where’s the fun if you pick the early boots? he was just not funny but his video game addiction gimmick was ok in the lindsay cameo episode

gen 3 —

fav: jasmine. not much has to be said.. i love her and she was robbed in final 4. only sane person on that island i fear, shasmine >>>>>! i hated her elimination but when she came back in the finale i was pleased

least fav: max like BOY IF YOU DONT STFU 😭 self explanatory

gen 4 (rr) —

fav: ice dancers, like ik they were evil and shit but where’s the fun if ur just gonna be a goody two shoes.. let’s be real they carried so hard but their elimination was satisfying ;) josee is me

least fav: stepbrothers, i’m sorry but i just didn’t get their gimmick at all and it was just painful to watch these two on screen. happy they got eliminated but i wasn’t like an avid hater

gen 5 (reboot) —

fav: julia. and ik she’s so hated but she’s literally girlboss gatekeep gaslight like wtff is ur issue with her. admittedly it was fun watching her get eliminated but i loved her arc, hope she gets far in season 2!

least fav: ripper. NEXT! (close second is chase, cuz wtf is ur real boy i’ll kill you)
