fair warning i know nothing about fashion including what aesthetic is called what since i own the same plain shirt in six different colours and i have one pair of (really cute) jeans to my name.

that being said, i think damian would love wearing the classic kurti/kurta + jeans combo as an everyday casual. i once wrote in a fic that ra's sends damian clothes from home and since then i have always imagined damian wearing them unless stated otherwise. in case you're not familiar with what i mean:

your breath hitches when your eyes land on sae, standing in the distance and near the shore, silently gazing at the collection of stars that embroidered the night sky.

your beats of your heart echoes within you as your hand rises to rest against your chest—you're nervous, humiliated, disappointed, and quite frankly, you don’t want to approach sae.

especially not after the incident that occurred three days ago, where you offered him your heart, hopeful about your confession, only for him to reject you without saying anything, walking away like your love was a disease.

but it’s exhausting to have meals in silence, save for the awkward noise that wooden chopsticks make against paper bowls; it’s exhausting to know that you’re the sole reason for the elephant in the room, and it’s exhausting to hear the same phrase from your best friends when you apologise: “it’s not your fault”.

and for the sake of your best friends—for the sake of the remainder of this trip in okinawa, you’ve left the house to confront sae, and the only thing that’s relieving the tension in your system is the song conjured by the ocean.

wish, wash. wish, wash. your footsteps follow the rhythm to the song. your courage grows with the number of footprints you’ve made in the sand, and soon, you find yourself standing near him, keeping a comfortable distance between the two of you.

and in this invisible barrier that keeps you apart, are many things that have been left unsaid.

“i haven’t thanked you for the coffee you made me today.” warm and sweet, it was left on the kitchen counter for you by sae, which you assumed was his token of apology that you quietly accepted. this morning, you enjoyed the coffee with a sour heart.

he turns around, eyes widening slightly because he’s become conscious of your presence, and it’s overwhelming him. guilt pricks his shoulders, but he locks his gaze onto you—the person his heart and mind were dwelling on for a long, long time.

you hold his gaze momentarily, permitting yourself a minute to forget about all the hurt he’s inflicted upon you and to fall in love with the teal in his eyes again.

sae looks away. “you don’t need to.”

“it’s good manners to.” you smile at him for the first time in three nights, but it resembles your forced ones more than your genuine ones.

and it tugs onto sae’s heartstrings.

“you don’t have to be so polite to me—we’re close.”

his words grazes the wound in your heart. you’re friends, so of course you’re close to each other—sae’s also an arm’s reach away, but right now, he’s unreachable.

you don’t intend for it to be a whisper, but it is—the words are weak, and you’re not sure if you mean it entirely. “yeah. we are.”

the silence returns, and this time, the waves’ song doesn’t encourage you—it’s breaking you apart, and you’re holding yourself together with all the strength left in your body.

“i wish you could have said something to me when i confessed.”

sae does too. he’s ashamed, disgusted at himself for hurting you, and the pit in his heart only expands when he hears you sniffle. your eyes are searching for something in his—he doesn't know what it is, but there’s desperation behind your irises as you step closer.

“why didn’t you say something back?”

he doesn’t respond. as regret twists his stomach, making him feel sick about the situation, the anger you’ve concealed these past few days is beginning to seep out. the look in your eyes have changed, and sae’s deprived of things to say to you. or, more like, he doesn’t know how to say it to you—how to tell you that he wasn’t supposed to reject you.

“you could have at least said ‘no’, and i would have been okay, sae! but you didn’t! instead, you got up, walked away, and left me with my thoughts—left me to think if there was something wrong with me!”

perhaps this was the first time sae’s ever heard you so frustrated, so anguished, and he doesn’t dare look away, knowing that if he does, something terrible will ensue.

“you should’ve just told me you don’t feel the sa—”

“but i do,” these three words tumbles out his mouth as sae averts his attention to the sea, and then back at you, hands gripping onto your arms. “i like you too.”

your train of thought short-circuits—his proclamation has emptied you of your words. “then why did yo—”

“because i’m terrified that if i let you in any closer, i’ll end up hurting you—even more than now!” his heart is pulsing, and his hands are trembling against your skin. sae doesn’t know what he’s doing, but whatever is happening right now, it’s all to redeem himself for all the wounds his actions have left on your heart. “i’ve pushed people away, and i’ve hurt them with my words, and god, i don’t want that to happen to you!”

“and i don’t know if i can even do or say all the things people do to their lovers. i’m shit with my words; i’m terrible at showing affection. how am i supposed to make you happy if i can’t do any of these things?”

finally, the barrier cracks, and you’re leaning, indulging in each other’s touch—something that you and sae have yearned to do for a long, long time.

his embrace is clumsy, but you grasp onto him like it’s the last time you’ll ever be this close to him. “you’ll learn—we’ll learn together, yeah?”

with synchronised breaths, and fingers that lace together beside your pressed bodies, your hand closes together, holding onto a handful of his shirt.

“don’t push me away again.”

sae doesn’t think he will again.

TMNT au were Mikey and Leo were raised by Shredder to be foot soldiers with Karai being manipulated by the Shredder, believing they have no one but themselves as family, and meeting Donnie and Raph, who are pals with Casey and April already helping them take down the foot solider to face off against Shredder. They cross paths with each other, which shapes how the story continues. Mikey starts to question Shredder, believing that the other side is who he should be with because he starts finding the way the foot handles things to be suspicious, so he goes on his own solo fights throughout this iteration, fighting Raph and Donnie every now and then, with Leo popping in to see assist and see if everything is okay. He also starts questioning his loyalty, but never brings it up since he believes in his father, Shredder, and sister Karai are innocent, so he and Mikey get into a fight, and Mikey chooses Raph and Donnie, which upsets Leo, who throughout the rest fights with Karai to try and get Mikey back on the shredder side. Thoughts?

Are there any characters in-game that are notably really good/bad cooks? I know that Toya almost poisoned Rui in Never Give Up Cooking but idk about the rest

Yeah so as you said Toya is abysmal at cooking but he does get lessons from KAITO towards the end of Never Give Up Cooking! and is able to make significant improvement to his cupcakes. According to KAMIKOU FESTIVAL!, he's good at preparing and serving candyfloss.

VBS!Miku also cannot cook for shit (a trait she probably inherited from Toya) and is also given lessons by VBS!KAITO. VBS!Len receives lessons too, but I don't recall it being stated that he was a bad cook beforehand. Oh yeah goes without saying but VBS KAITO and MEIKO are good cooks.

Honami is canonically a good cook. She's part of home economics club and cooks meals for Kanade often. In the 2021 Valentine's voicelines it is mentioned that she taught Saki how to make sweets. An can also cook, as well as prepare coffee and tea, because she works at the cafe. It's also mentioned that Kohane can bake in multiple seasonal menu voicelines.

Airi can cook as demonstrated in Operation♡Secret Valentine! and she is also a member of tea ceremony club. She helps Saki and Emu bake cakes and other sweet treats in the aforementioned event.

Honami and Emu also cooked a BBQ in Let's Have the Absolute Best Summer!.

Akito, Shiho, Haruka and Mizuki can all make chocolate, as shown in The Gentleman Thief's Thrilling White Day!?.

The 2023 White Day voicelines mention that Rui has made appliances for baking specific sweets, meaning that he probably has knowledge of how to make these by hand in the first place. Meanwhile the 2022 White Day voicelines reveal that the base forms of Len and KAITO can bake.

It's mentioned that Mafuyu can cook in the Mirage of Lights event story.

Ena's speciality is listed as "picking the best ingredients for cooking" in her official bio, so presumably she can cook.

Actually, all of Leo/need has some cooking proficiency. 4koma #10 reveals that they can all make apple pies.

And finally, Shizuku can cook as well. She also mentions that she can make chocolates in her 2021 Valentine's voiceline.

And for some assumptions

I don't think Kanade can cook. She can make instant foods but I don't know if she can cook actual meals. We do know that the reason she has pot noodles is because it saves her time, so maybe she can cook and just has priorities. She can be seen helping out Honami in her wedding card come to think of it, so she probably can cook.

Idk about Tsukasa and Nene. It's probably mentioned somewhere but I haven't read every card story.

I still don't trust WxS' island cooking.

Someone in the Wonderland SEKAI can cook. that or they have a magic oven/fridge like in cartoons (always a possibility with the Wonderland SEKAI)

oh my friend it changed MY ENTIRE LIFE when i first read it a couple months ago. like woah. the wayne murder is one of those batman moments that is repeated and mentioned every two weeks that it's made everyone almost desensitised to seeing it in a story. with so much going on in the canon, especially recently, this murder we know so much about it nothing special or provoking anymore.

but then they dropped this page and its like. oh. oh okay. this is a bit too real now. it grossly simplifies the event in a way i haven't seen before because of how casually bruce just says it and it is suddenly the most impactful retelling of that night i have ever read.

i shall reveal what i have thought of so far!!

in the fae realm, the population is divided into Seelie and Unseelie fae. Seelie being the generally calmer, but still very much capable of mischief, yet also don't mind being helpful. sometimes. Unseelie being the ones that tend to be actually malevolent, harbouring hatred for humans... the Seelie and Unseelie Courts take turns ruling throughout the year, Seelie during spring and summer, Unseelie during autumn and winter.

i've decided to have two faerie royal families, one from each type of fae. the Seelie side of things is ruled by the Tenmas, and the Unseelie by the Shinonomes.

on the Seelie side, the Kamishiro family has been been loyal friends to the Tenmas for centuries, and the current generation is no different. Rui is best friends with their side's prince, Tsukasa, and despite his age, his level-headed nature and intelligence earned him the role of representing the Tenma royal family when they cannot. the main plot of the AU follows Rui's attempts to sort out various conflict between Seelie and Unseelie fae.

speaking of which, the two most dangerous Unseelie faeries around their age are a pair of twins, Arata and Iori. they are both particularly cruel to humans, have carefully practiced the art of being able to curse them, and are not above picking on other fae either. Iori dislikes how Unseelie fae are becoming "weaker" in her eyes, due to general hostility decreasing over the years, so she's determined to put a stop to any cross-court interactions she sees. one of her most targeted is Shiho, as she has been befriended by Ichika, Saki and Honami, who are all Seelie fae, Saki being the literal princess of that court, while Shiho (and Shizuku) were born into an Unseelie family. Iori is determined to prevent Shiho from being "influenced," in her eyes, by her friends, much to Shiho's annoyance. despite being royal, the Tenmas aren't respected by any of the Unseelie population, mocked for being kinder to humans, so Iori isn't fazed by the fact that one of Shiho's "disgusting Seelie friends" is Princess Saki. naturally, she doesn't care when Rui is sent to tell her off for the disruption either, often fetched by Shizuku, who can't bear to see her sister being bothered.

yes, despite being opposite types of fae, Shizuku and Rui get along rather well. Shizuku may try to act like a typical Unseelie should, but is really more of a peacemaker rather than a troublemaker. the other Unseelie fae, specifically Arisa, hate how Shizuku is praised by the Seelie Court for not causing deliberate chaos despite her nature, expecting the rest to follow her "example." because of this, there are rumours spread that Shizuku was adopted into her current family and is actually a Seelie fae. Rui can somewhat relate to her, as he has his moments of trickery, but despite lacking malice, people still sometimes accuse him of secretly being from the Unseelie side. he doesn't have it nearly as bad as Shizuku though, since his fellow Seelie aren't nearly as vicious, plus he and his parents are closely connected to the royal family, so they're more careful about slandering him.

meanwhile, Arata violently resents humans because a hunter unknowingly shot Souma when the two of them were hanging out in a human realm forest together, causing the other boy's wings to break beyond repair. he is relentless in enchanting humans at every chance he gets, and although this has made him extremely popular with his fellow Unseelie, the Seelie Court, especially Rui whose job it is to keep fae civilians relatively in line, are incredibly fed up with him because his antics constantly risk more humans finding out about them.

surprisingly enough, Souma, is in fact, a Seelie fae, which has people wondering how exactly he and Arata got so close considering Arata, like his sister and other Unseelie types, seems to currently dislike the Seelie. in truth, he was actually fine with the other fae... until Souma's accident, because he expected them to let go of the "good" act and take revenge against the humans who hurt his partner officially, especially seeing as Souma was one of them- yet, they did not, saying it was too risky, which made Arata see red and spend every day ever since delivering the "justice" himself.

pretty much the only way that Rui can manage to keep Iori and Arata from going completely off the rails is threatening to report them to their own king- the Unseelie ruler, King Shinei, is hardly as gracious and forgiving as the Tenma monarchs.

Emu was born into an Unseelie family, yet she never really felt that she "belonged" on that side... so she grew up trying to play with the Seelie children, but they would all be terrified of her because other Unseelie tend to bully them. however, she was found and accepted by Rui and Nene, two Seelie types who were willing to befriend her- as well as Prince Tsukasa himself. this is much to her family's annoyance- well, really, only Shousuke. Hinata is just pleased that her sister isn't quite so lonely anymore and Keisuke may be a little wary of what may happen to their reputation, but Shousuke is outraged. which is very much to Rui's amusement.

the Tenma royal family includes Toya, but Toya isn't a faerie at all. he was born a human child who the Tenmas saw being treated poorly by his biological family in the human realm, so they took him and left a changeling that mimicked Toya's appearance in his place. however, it was soon discovered what the "Toya" living with the Aoyagi family was, and it was killed while the real boy remained living in the fae realm. one of the plots in the AU is that Toya's older brothers, who were much kinder to him than his parents, found out what happened to him and try to negotiate with Rui who was sent to sort out the matter, of course, and he declares it's up to Toya himself to decide. the two beg him to return to them, but he doesn't want to, refusing to leave Tsukasa and Saki's side. he is afraid and confused by his biological brothers, barely recognising them because he was very little when the Tenmas "switched" him. the Aoyagi brothers realise how truly happy Toya is with his new family, and find themselves not being able to cruelly rip him away from that. probably wish they got kidnapped by fae too-
