The Eternal Summer
I. Welcome to Australia
Summary: Your husband, Lord Turpin, has been instructed by the Queen to bring the British judiciary system to Australia. You travel with him, and and on arrival you meet his cousin, Elliott Marston, who invites you to stay with him while your husband make arrangements in Melbourne. In return for his hospitality, Turpin offers you to his cousin, and although you're reluctant at first, you come to find you're rather fond of the gunslinging pastoralist.
Sequel to Sins of the Flesh.

AN: Yes, I have started another fic. Yes, I will still finish my other stories (eventually). No, I didn't see a Sweeney Todd/Quigley Down Under crossover coming either, but my pussy is horny and my imagination is wild.
Content/warnings: sharing, non-consensual touching, oral sex, period-typical racism (specifically against Aboriginal Australians), gun violence, consensual infidelity, vaginal sex
Read on Ao3 or below the cut:
When your husband told you that the Queen herself had asked him to work temporarily in Australia to assist in the establishment of the British judicial system, you went through multiple emotions over the weeks leading up to your departure. You mourned at first that he would be away from you for so long, until he told you that you were to come with him. Then, you had been daunted by the prospect of moving to such a distant place. A small part of you registered that your brother was in Australia too, but the chances of seeing him were slim.
Finally, as the day of your departure approached, you began to feel excited. You had never even left London, yet here you were travelling to the very end of the world as the lady wife of Lord Turpin, the formidable English judge who would bring peace and justice to Australia just as he did England.
The journey itself was difficult. You spent just over two months at sea, and learned quickly that your delicate stomach wasn’t made for such journeys. You had the greatest of luxury that you could, of course, and the inside of your cabin wouldn’t look out of place in a manor. But even the finest of luxury couldn’t contest with the rage of the sea, and you spent more time than you wished churning your meals back out when the seas were rough.
The worst part was, the onboard doctor advised that to fall pregnant on the journey would be unwise, as your frequent nausea meant your body was lacking nutrients enough to keep a baby healthy, so you were forced to suspend your attempts to have a child. That didn’t stop your husband taking you regularly, however - only that he spilled elsewhere, but you sorely missed the warmth and satisfaction of feeling his seed filling your womb.
It felt like an eternity had passed when you docked at Melbourne, and to feel solid ground below your feet at last was both discombobulating and a relief. You stayed at a hotel for the first night, where your husband was finally able to spill his seed inside you again, and for the first night in a long time you slept through without being woken by your churning stomach.
In the morning, you woke to find your bed empty, so you got yourself dressed and headed down into the parlour in search of your husband.
You found him sitting at a table with a coffee and a plate of breakfast, accompanied by a man whose face was obscured by virtue of having his back to you. William spotted you and smiled, waving you over, and his companion turned to look at you.
You hoped your face didn’t blush when you locked eyes with the man and you were immediately struck by how handsome he was. He had a moustache and the shadow of a beard, and he looked somewhat like your husband, maybe a decade or so younger.
“There she is! Come sit with us, darling. I didn’t want to wake you during your first night on land. Elliott, this is my wife, [Y/n]. [Y/n], this is my cousin, Elliott Marston. He’s a - what was it you called yourself, Elliott?”
“A pastoralist. I own a lot of land and farm it. A pleasure to meet you, Lady Turpin.”
Elliott took your hand and kissed it, his moustache tickling your knuckles slightly, and you gave him a small curtsy.
“Likewise, sir,” you said politely. Elliott laughed and released your hand, letting you sit in the seat that had been left open for you next to your husband.
“You’re not in England anymore, my Lady. No need for sirs, I’m not a knight. Just Elliott will do.”
“Ah, well… in that case, you may call me [Y/n], if my lord husband permits it.”
“Of course I do!” William said with a smile just as a waitress brought you a plate of food. “We’re all family here. Elliott’s father, my mother’s brother, was my favourite uncle.”
“I apologise, my love, I - I must have not heard you say we were meeting your cousin.”
“Well, of course you didn’t hear it, because I didn’t say it. I knew Elliott had moved here, of course, but I hardly expected we’d run into one another in such a large place. Simply a case of good fortune.”
“Yes, well, I heard from Major Ashley-Pitt that they were bringing in a judge from London to establish the judiciary,” Elliott explained. If he was of a similar class to William, he had lost all table manners long ago - he was currently sat slouched on his chair, his legs spread out, a cigarette in one hand. “I mentioned as an offhand comment that my cousin William Turpin was in the London judiciary, and as luck would have it I was told he was the very judge, so when I heard when you were docking I thought I’d come to meet you. Unfortunately, you docked quite late last night, and I was already drunk in the saloon. I came in here to wait for the two of you to awake, only to find William already at breakfast. You should have seen, [Y/n], the look on his face when he recognised me!”
“I almost didn’t recognise you with that moustache and the ridiculous hat. I won’t be made to wear something so outlandish, I hope,” said William, and you decided not to mention how very garish his own judge’s garments were.
“You’ll find yourself choosing to wear the widest brimmed hat you can find once you’re out in the midday sun. It’s nothing like London out here. I always say, the natives are brutal and so is the wildlife, but Australia itself is the greatest killer of them all.”
“Elliott’s invited you to stay with him for a few days while I attend to administrative matters here, darling,” William said to you, as if he were offering you some great prize and not suggesting you leave his side for several days. “Once I’ve ironed out the paperwork and so on, got us a place to live, I’ll join you for a while, then we’ll return to town to move in properly and I can begin my work. How does that sound?”
“Must I go on without you, William? If you’re to stay in town, I’d much rather be by your side.”
William chuckled. “Until we have somewhere of our own, this hotel is all we have to live, and I won’t have my darling [Y/n] resting her head here every single night. Elliott assures me he has a much more comfortable lodging for you with him.”
You bit your lip anxiously. The thought of being away from your husband for even one night was enough to make your stomach churn as if you were back on the ship all over again. You hadn’t ever spent a night without him, not since that first day you came to his house in exchange for your brother’s life.
“But, sir —”
“Are you questioning me, wife?”
“No, sir,” you said quickly, ducking your head slightly. “Only… well, I worry that we may miss our, um… window. For my… medication. We already missed two months!”
William laughed and wrapped an arm around you. “Her womb is struggling to take my seed,” he explained to his cousin, and you blushed to hear him speak so publicly about such private matters. “The doctor prescribed that I should spill inside her often, but her sensitive stomach didn’t agree with sea travel, so we had to suspend our attempts until we reached land. We continued to make love, of course, but last night was the first time I spilled inside her since London.”
“William! We oughtn’t speak of such things —”
“Nonsense! We can speak freely in front of Elliott. Do you have a wife of your own?”
“I did, but she passed a few years ago before she could give me any children. I take the occasional whore back from town, but otherwise I sleep alone.”
“Well, that won’t do. I’ll tell you what - since you’re being so kind as to put [Y/n] up while I stay in town, she’s yours to do as you please until I join you.”
Your eyes widened in shock, and fortunately you had no food in your mouth in that moment, else it might have dropped from your mouth in a rather unladylike manner.
“But William - I can’t - I can’t lay with another man! You are my husband!”
“And as your husband, I am to be obeyed, am I not?”
“Well, yes, but —”
“Then you’ll do as I say and keep my cousin’s bed warm. You’re not to spill inside her, of course, Elliott. She’s only to take my seed.”
“Of course. Very generous of you, William, thank you.”
You could scarcely believe what you were hearing. Your own husband, who had claimed possession of you the very day you met, who had wedded you in the eyes of the Lord and promised faithfulness, was now offering you up for warmth as if you were nothing more than a spare blanket!
And yet, he was also right that your wedding vows had included not only a promise of fidelity, but a promise of obedience too. And here he was, commanding you to lay with his cousin or… whatever it was the stranger wanted you to do. Suddenly you felt like that scared young girl again, who had knocked on Judge Turpin’s door begging for mercy and ended the night surrendering your maidenhood in exchange for your wish. Although your husband had been cruel at first when you resisted, once you accepted that you were his he became kind and you even grew to love one another, and you had almost forgotten that you were simply property.
You tried your hardest not to cry when the time came to depart. Your single bag of belongings was loaded up onto a wagon, and for once William allowed you to publicly embrace him before you climbed into the wooden contraption yourself.
“I shall miss you every moment, William,” you said, holding onto him tightly, as if trying to memorise the feeling of his body against yours.
“And I you, my love. It will be lonely not to share a bed with you, but I’ll follow you as soon as I’m able. Elliott will take good care of you, I’m certain.”
You sniffed, not wanting to think of what kind of care the stranger had in store for you.
William pulled away from the embrace and looked into your eyes.
“I love you, bunny.”
You smiled. “I love you too, teddy bear.”
Reluctantly, you let him go, and Elliott gave you a hand up into the wagon. It was hard and uncomfortable, nothing like the carriages that you shared with William when you travelled around London, and already you understood what the stranger had said about Australian weather. You wrapped a bonnet around your head, and as the wagon departed, you kept your sights set on your husband, watching him shrink into the distance until he was nothing but a speck on the horizon, and then he was gone, leaving you alone with only Elliott, two of his men, and the burning Australian sun.
You were a long way from home.
Elliott’s station was very far away. You were tired of travelling all the time, so when you were told it would take “only” a few days to get there, you resigned yourself to complete and utter boredom.
When night fell, the men made camp for the night, and you gathered around the fire, sitting in silence as the men told stories about hunting dingos, whatever they were, and Aborigines, whatever they were. Although the day had been sweltering hot, as night drew on the air became colder, and you shivered slightly. Elliott, who was sat next to you, shrugged off his jacket and wrapped it around your shoulders.
“Thank you,” you said politely, speaking for the first time in hours, although you didn’t look at him.
“Hey, if you’re cold, I got a way I can warm ya up,” said an Irish man who’d introduced himself as O’Flynn, and his laugh with the other man, Hobb, was quickly interrupted when Elliott tossed a rock at him and bounced it off the Irish man’s head.
“[Y/n]’s no whore to be passed around,” Elliott said firmly as the disgruntled O’Flynn rubbed his head. “She’s my cousin’s wife, and back in London she’s a Lady. No one’s to touch her, you got that? Don’t even look at her.”
The men mumbled their apologies, then went back to the game of backgammon they’d brought along for the journey.
“Sorry about them,” Elliott said to you quietly. “With your husband being a judge, I’m sure you know that convicts get sent out here to work off their debts to society. A lot of them come to me, and most of them become honest men, but they’re still scumbags.”
You paused.
“My brother was sent out here,” you said quietly, frowning as if you’d only just remembered.
“Hmm? What was that?”
You looked up at him.
“My brother. He - he was a thief. William was going to send him to hang, but I begged him for mercy so he sent him out here instead. It’s how we met, I… I showed up on his doorstep begging for mercy. He said he’d spare my brother if I gave him my maidenhood. Then he kept me.”
Elliott raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Your brother was a thief?”
“Only bread. We were hungry… our parents were dead and I didn’t earn very much. But a crime is a crime, my husband says, no matter the reasoning. I’m very grateful he showed my brother mercy that day. Now my brother is working to become a better man, just like your men, and I have the most devoted husband.”
Elliott was looking at you with a strange expression on his face, as if you were a curious puzzle he was trying to solve. He opened his mouth to speak, but was cut short when Hobb let out a whoop of victory as he won his game.
“Well done, Hobb. Now, keep it down, I’m going to bed.”
The men mumbled their discontent and folded away their game. Elliott, meanwhile, stood and offered his hand to you. You took it gratefully, and followed him into the tent he had set up to share with you. There wasn’t a whole lot of space, especially with there being two of you, and you blushed when he began undressing in front of you.
When he was down to his undergarments, Elliott looked over at you, and chuckled when he saw that you were pointedly facing away from him, struggling to get out of your corset on your own.
You twitched in surprise when you felt his hands reach around to assist you in untying the lace that held the corset together. You let him take over, his movements surprisingly gentle for hands so large and calloused, and you kept your head turned away from him, trying to ignore the tickling of his breath on your neck.
“My men may be scumbags, but I’m certainly not,” Elliott said softly. “I think we both know what your husband meant when he offered you to me, but I like to think Australia hasn’t completely beaten the English gentleman from me. I won’t deny, [Y/n]… you are a beautiful woman. William’s a lucky man. But I won’t take anything from you that’s not freely given. Do you understand?”
You nodded tentatively, and Elliott helped you out of your dress, leaving you in only your underthings. You climbed under the blankets, and the feeling of the hard earth beneath you reminded you of the days before you’d met your husband, when you’d sleep on the floor because you could only afford to rent one bed for your brother.
True to his word, even though he laid next to you, Elliott made no move to touch you. You were cold, though, and so you scooted closer to him, and although you couldn’t see it in the dark, he smiled when he wrapped an arm around you and held you tight, glad to have the company of a woman who wasn’t a whore, a kind and sweet lady, with an innocence that seemed vastly out of place in the harsh terrain of Australia.
William was a lucky man indeed.
The next two days passed without much event. You started to wonder if Elliott’s station even existed, or if anything existed. Perhaps you’d simply imagined London, the ocean, life outside the barren desert that was Australia. By day you sat in the back of the wagon, and every few hours Elliott would move you to a different seat. It took an embarrassingly long time for you to realise that he was keeping you in his shadow, blocking you from the harsh rays of the sun with his own body.
The heat made you sleepy, and so you napped for a lot of the journey, and for the time you were awake you watched the world go by, marvelling at the wonders of the outback and listening intently as Elliott told you about the different creatures that you passed.
The strangest creatures you saw were called “kangaroos,” which hopped around on overly large feet and although their arms were short, Elliott assured you that they were stronger than men, and extremely dangerous to approach.
A dingo, you learned, was a type of wild dog, although they looked more like foxes than dogs, you thought. When dingos were spotted, the wagon was stopped, and the men got out to hunt the poor things. You winced at the loud gunshots, and you thought that Elliott was trying to impress you with his gunmanship, but really you were just worried for the poor animals.
The men loaded some of their kills in with the luggage, covering the bodies with blankets to stop the heat cooking them prematurely, and left the rest to rot in the sun. You gave false pleasantries to the men for their impressive hunting skills, and Elliott seemed pleased when you told him you’d watched him the whole time.
“What are the other creatures you said you hunt? Aborigines?”
Hobb and O’Flynn exchanged glances, and Elliott tensed slightly. He’d taken recently to throwing an arm around your shoulder when he sat next to you, and you felt his hand on your upper arm tighten slightly, pulling you in closer, as if to say the very word was to summon the elusive Aborigine, and he had to keep you close to protect you.
“Creatures is one word for them. But they’re people, supposedly. Backwards, primitive people, still stuck in the Stone Age. The Americans have their own primitives too, but they’ve tamed theirs, more or less. But Australia’s one great failure is our inability to domesticate the Australian Aborigine. So her Majesty’s government allows settlers to deal with the matter in their own way. ‘Pacification by Force’, it’s called.”
You frowned, trying to understand. “So you hunt… people?”
“They’re hardly people, love,” O’Flynn interjected. “They might look like people, but they can’t even talk. They just grunt. Stuck thousands of years in the past, they are. Only language they know is violence. Some you can domesticate, and you’ll find some back at the station. But some of ‘em resist, and those, we put down. Survival of the smartest, you see.”
You weren’t sure that sounded right, but you knew not to contradict men, so you kept quiet, though the thoughtful frown remained on your face. The wagon trundled on, and you found yourself relaxing against Elliott, who was still firmly holding onto you, ready to protect you from any stray Aborigine or kangaroo that might appear.
After an eternity had passed, Elliott woke you from a nap to point you towards a speck on the horizon he told you was his station.
“How far have we travelled?”
“About 300 miles,” Elliott replied proudly, “most of it mine. And we’ve hardly made a dent into Australia. Do you know, it’s estimated that Britain could fit into Australia thirty times with room to spare.”
“Wow,” you gasped, wide-eyed, peering into the distance to make out the station growing nearer. “I always thought London was big, but it’s just a dot on the canvas of the world. Is your land bigger than London?”
Elliott chuckled. “Much bigger. I’d offer you the tour, but it’d take longer than you have. Even I haven’t set foot on every square inch of my own land. But I can give you the tour of my station, and perhaps I’ll even take you out to meet some of the animals. Would you like that?”
“Oh yes!” you replied eagerly, looking up at him with the most adorable wide-eyed excitement he’d ever seen on a young woman. “Do you have sheep? I’ve always wanted to meet sheep.”
“Plenty of sheep, so long as the Aborigines haven’t tried to steal them again. Perhaps you could help shear one - cut its coat, I mean. I don’t suppose you see much animal life in London, do you?”
“Only the rats,” you said with disgust. “Stray cats and dogs, I don’t mind them. But the rats are horrible.”
“Well, I can’t promise no rats here, but at least we have the guns to shoot them.”
You glanced down at the gun on Elliott’s waistband - a “revolver,” he’d called it, on account of the revolving barrel containing the bullets - and your stomach twisted with anxiety. Guns were only owned in London by the upper classes - or by the lower classes, if obtained illegally. William had a few of his own, but you never saw them, as he brought them out only for hunting trips and he hadn’t been hunting since you’d met him. And yet, every man out here seemed to have a gun - for protection, Elliott assured you, against wild animals and Aborigines.
That didn’t stop them from making you feel uneasy.
The wagon pulled into the station at last, and Elliott helped you down from the wagon. A few of the men milling around shot glances at you that you recognised only too well, and you instinctively stepped closer to Elliott, as if his proximity kept you safe.
“Don’t you worry about them,” Elliott assured you, wrapping an arm around your waist protectively. “They’re used to the only women arriving here being whores. I’ll make sure they know you’re nothing of the sort.”
Weren’t you? William had offered you to his cousin as payment for his hospitality, after all. It seemed that no matter where you were in the world, you had nothing more to offer men than your body.
Elliott saw you into his house, one arm firmly around your waist while the other carried your bag over his shoulder, and gave you a quick tour of the house before depositing your bag in the bedroom you were to share with him.
“I hope you don’t mind sharing - there’s only the one bed, as there’s only the one of me.”
“That’s alright. I don’t like sleeping alone. Some nights William comes back late, I can’t sleep until he’s home and in bed with me. You’ve been a fine sleeping companion in the tent, I’m sure you’ll be as much of a gentleman in the bedroom too.”
“Don’t be so sure of that, sweetheart,” Elliott smirked, looking down at you with a twinkle in his eye. The arm around your waist pulled you in closer, and his other hand traced your shoulder along the edge of your bodice slowly, as if trying to restrain himself from ripping it off. “I restrained myself in the outback, but here in the comfort of my own home, sleeping next to such a beautiful woman…” He sighed. “I can’t promise much gentlemanly behaviour.”
You knew you should be revolted at such brazen flirting from a man who wasn’t your husband, but you couldn’t deny that Elliott was a handsome man, and you’d spent more than a significant amount of time during the journey wondering what it might be like to kiss him… and your husband had ordered you to keep his cousin warm…
Your eyes flitted down to his lips, as if daring yourself to kiss him, and he smirked.
“It’s been a long journey, sweetheart. Would you help ease my tension with a kiss?”
“I… I’ve never…” You gulped. “I’ve never been with a man other than my husband.”
“Of course you haven’t.”
“I’ve never wanted a man other than him…”
“But?” Elliott prompted with a raised eyebrow.
“But I find myself… wanting to kiss you.”
“Then kiss me, [Y/n]. This is Australia, after all. We take what we want here.”
You leaned up on your tiptoes to kiss him, and he met you halfway, lips crashing against yours hungrily. Elliott wrapped both arms around you to hold you tight, and you responded by threading your fingers through his hair, holding him firmly in place as your tongues danced, the desire that had built up over the last few days of travelling finally coming to a head.
He was different to your husband. He was slimmer, stronger - clearly a man who knew physical toil, whereas William had always known a life of luxury. His moustache tickled your skin slightly, and you longed to know what the coarse hairs felt like between your legs if he granted you that boon.
Their passions were similar, though, and you could feel his pressing into you - unless it was another gun.
Elliott’s hands travelled down to squeeze your bum, a cheek in each hand, and you squealed in surprise, causing your lips to part. He chuckled.
“I told you, [Y/n]… when a beautiful woman like you whips me into a frenzy, I can’t promise I’ll be a gentleman. I’ve been —”
But whatever he’d been would have to wait, because someone was knocking on the front door.
“Marston! You in? Just got back with some news about that sharp-shooter.”
Elliott sighed, and reluctantly pulled away from you. “Sorry, sweetheart, this is important. Why don’t you go to the kitchen and get yourself something to drink? Plenty of water there for you, you must be parched.”
You’d been far too hypnotised by him to notice, but you were indeed desperately thirsty, and the kiss hadn’t helped. You were relieved to discover that Australia wasn’t so backwards as to not have plumbing, and there was even a water tap to which you gratefully helped yourself as, behind you, Elliott spoke to the man at the door.
“He’s coming up with Coogan, maybe a day behind us,” said the man. “Already got himself in a fight, defending Crazy Cora of all people.”
“He can fight whoever he wants, so long as he gets the job done. Get the lodge ready for him.”
”Yessir.”
Elliott closed the door and turned back to you with a smile.
“Well, today’s been good all round. I’m off the road, I’ve got my new rifleman coming tomorrow, and best of all, there’s a beautiful woman in my kitchen.”
“It’d be even better if there was a beautiful woman in your bed.”
Elliott grinned. “It sure would. I’ll just go get one of them whores, then.”
He turned to leave, and when you made no move to follow him, he paused. Looking back at you, he saw that you were looking dejectedly down at the floor, and he laughed.
“I’m just kidding, [Y/n]!”
He walked back towards you and lifted your chin up to force you to look at him.
“The only woman I want in my bed tonight is you, if you’ll join me.”
You blushed, embarrassed that you’d taken his joke seriously. “…I’d like that.”
“Excellent. Come on, then.”
With surprising strength, Elliott lifted you from the ground and threw you over his shoulder. You squealed in surprise and he laughed. When he deposited you on the bed, your hands immediately flew to your bodice, trying to untie it as fast as you could. You’d decided to let him take you, and you wanted to fulfill your task before you changed your mind.
“You waste no time, huh?” Elliott remarked, his eyes firmly on your loosening bodice.
“Neither do you,” you retorted, noticing the way he was already unbuckling his trousers.
“I told you, I’ve been resisting taking you since we met. The hard earth isn’t the most comfortable place for fucking, and I don’t want you to think poorly of Australia because of it. I won’t deny, though, having a little grope before you woke up in the mornings. How could I resist when your tit had fallen out of your garments in the night? Rock hard nipples pointing right at me, just eager to be touched, licked… you may think I’ve been a gentleman on the journey, sweetheart, but I’m anything but.”
Your dress was on the floor now, his gun on the bedside table, his trousers pooled at his ankles. Elliott pulled your bloomers down, exposing you to the air, and you felt a sense of relief. You’d been wearing undergarments again since William had told you you were to sleep next to another man, but you’d gone so long without them that now they felt restrictive. You pulled the rest of your garments off, leaving yourself fully naked before him, and Elliott looked you up and down hungrily.
“Oh, look at you… whatever did my cousin do to deserve you? No matter. We’ve still got a few days before he arrives. We’d better make the most of it, hadn’t we?”
“Yes, sir.”
Usually when you let a sir slip, he corrected you, but he seemed to let it slide this time. Perhaps he liked it, or perhaps he was distracted by the way you dropped to your knees in front of him and reached out to take his cock in your hand.
“Oh, fucking hell,” Elliott hissed, then he let out a small moan when your tongue began teasing at his tip. He was big, but not as big as your husband, and it was no challenge at all for you to wrap your lips around his full width.
“I confess to touching you in the night, and what do you do? Get on your knees and suck my cock. I should have told you much sooner. Should have - ah - taken you on the earth after all. It’s God’s creation, isn’t it? He made the earth, and he made us for fucking… beds are man’s invention. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll take you to see the sheep, then we can fuck out in the open air like God intended.”
You hummed your eagerness around him, sliding him further into your mouth and down your throat, and Elliott gripped your hair tightly as he groaned. Once he was fully hilted inside you, you stayed still for a few moments, adjusting to the feeling and getting used to breathing through your nose.
When he decided you were ready, Elliott began thrusting into your throat, holding your head still as he tugged on your hair. You looked up at him, hardly able to see his face as his head was thrown back in pleasure, but you could see a red flush beginning to form underneath his tanned skin, and his chest was moving up and down rapidly in time with his panting.
Elliott couldn’t remember the last time he’d fucked a throat this good - if ever. You were an expert, more skilled than any whore he’d found in town, and if you weren’t already married he might have proposed to you there and then just to keep you around. If you’d truly been with no one other than William, then either you were a natural-born expert cocksucker, or he’d taught you well. Who’d have known his strict, pious, law-abiding cousin would have such a perfect slut of a wife? Your talents were wasted on him, and clearly if he hadn’t got you pregnant yet, he was doing something wrong.
With that thought in mind, Elliott just had to know if your cunt was as greedy as your mouth. He tugged on the back of your head to pull you off him, and you whined when you became unstuck, as if you’d been getting as much pleasure from it as he was.
He lifted you by your shoulders and sat you on the edge of the bed. You spread your legs instinctively, and he could have cum there and then when he saw just how wet you were.
Elliott didn’t usually bother to pleasure women, but he felt drawn to you, as if some otherworldly force pulled him to his knees to taste you, his tongue exploring everywhere he could, the coarse hair on his face rubbing against your skin sending you wild. You bucked your hips involuntarily, and Elliott responded by probing his tongue further into your folds, searching until he found your entrance and rested there, mere millimetres away from penetrating you with his tongue.
After teasing you until you could be teased no further, he came up for air, panting, and you glanced at him, his facial hair glistening with the desire you were secreting for him. He grinned at you, a hungry look in his eyes, and, so quickly you hardly had time to register what was happening, Elliott stood and slid his cock into you. You cried out in surprise, which quickly turned into moans of pleasure as Elliott began thrusting into you, holding your ankles over his shoulders. His jaw, which was still covered in you, dropped open to join you in a cacophony of moans, matched only by the slapping of his skin against yours, the unabashedly loud squelching of his cock pummelling in and out of your cunt making it clear to anyone that might pass by exactly what was going on.
Any concern you might have had about the morals of taking the cock of a man other than your husband quickly melted away. After all, it was on orders of your husband that you were here in this other man’s bed, and far be it from you to disobey your husband.
Elliott pulled out of you suddenly, and you were about to protest when he grabbed your hips and flipped you over. You instinctively stuck your arse in the air, and Elliott slipped back inside you, resuming his desperate pace, except this time he was pushing into your G-spot with every thrust, his balls slapping against your clit, and when you moaned, the noise was muffled by the mattress beneath you.
Elliott grabbed a pillow from the top of the bed and slid it under you, and you gratefully took it to rest your head on, clutching onto it like it was a life raft.
“Fuck, I could stay inside this cunt all night,” Elliott groaned.
And you’d happily let him, but you could feel your climax building, and you wanted desperately to milk him, to squeeze his cock dry as you came around him and he came with you.
As if he knew what you were thinking, Elliott leant down over you, dropping his weight to his elbows, and you could feel his heavy pants against your neck as he too felt his peak threatening to explode inside you.
“El - Elliott,” you moaned, and hearing his name from your lips only spurred him on, his hips slapping against your arse almost violently. “Elliott, I’m - I’m gonna cum —”
“Yes, that’s it, sweetheart, cum for me, let me hear you…”
“Ah - fuck - El - oh my god, I - I - Elliott!”
Your muscles tensed as your orgasm hit, causing your legs to spasm, and if it weren’t for Elliott’s strong body crushing yours firmly against the mattress, you might have lost your footing.
Your sweet moans and your tight cunt were too much for him, and Elliott cried out your name into your ear as he came, seed filling you with warmth and comfort, and it was only when he collapsed on top of you, both sweaty and panting, that either of you remembered your husband’s firm instruction that he wasn’t to spill inside you.
You let out a small whine when Elliott sat up and pulled himself out of you, and you could feel the mixture of his spend and yours leaking from between your legs.
“You’d better get to the bathroom,” he advised you, his voice still heavy, and you quickly followed his instruction, dashing across the hall to try and push out as much of his seed as you could into his toilet.
When you came back, Elliott was already in his undergarments, although he’d forgone the shirt and wore only the lower briefs. He was sat up in bed, cleaning his gun, which he put down when you crawled in next to him.
“Are you alright?” he asked.
You nodded, avoiding his gaze, but he cupped your face and forced you to look at him.
“I’m sorry, I was too caught up in the moment to remember your husband’s instructions not to spill inside you,” Elliott murmured. “I swear I’ll spill outside next time.”
You smiled shyly, and Elliott thought his heart might just melt. How did you do it, acting a cockhungry slut one moment, a shy lady the next, and making both acts completely believable?
“I won’t tell him,” you promised. “He spills inside me thrice daily and still my womb hasn’t quickened, so I doubt once from you will cause any trouble.”
“Thrice daily?” Elliott repeated. “Are you certain?”
“Quite certain. I’m there when it happens, after all, and usually awake.”
Elliott chuckled and shook his head. “Well, I’ll be damned. I didn’t know he had it in him.”
You nodded and bit your lip. “My husband’s quite insatiable. He has been since the day we met. I struggle to keep up with him sometimes, but he’s my husband and I love him, so I let him take me whenever he wishes. Sometimes, if I’m very tired, he’ll let me go to sleep and take me then, although sometimes he does wake me.”
Elliott’s heart skipped a beat at the thought of it. He had thought about it so many times in the tent, taking you in your sleep without you even knowing, but he’d not wanted to risk alarming you if you woke up. And here you were, telling him you were quite used to being taken in such a manner.
“Would you allow me to do the same? If I find you looking particularly delectable in your sleep, might I take my pleasure from you?”
You hesitated, but you nodded. Truthfully, you weren’t overly fond of being woken to find your husband already inside you as it was usually painful, but as kind as Elliott was to you, you were frightened of the gun that lay just feet away, and your husband had instructed you to please him. You’d already disobeyed him once by taking Elliott’s seed - you didn’t want to disobey him again. At least Elliott was asking your permission.
Elliott stayed up a little longer than you to read his book, and he found it endearing the way you nodded off curled up against him like a cat, one arm around his waist, and he knew you were sleeping when your grip on him loosened.
He put his book down next to his gun, blew out the lamp, then settled in next to you, holding you close. He estimated he had another week before his cousin arrived at the station, and Elliott was determined to win your heart in that time. After all, this was Australia, and Elliott was a man who took what he wanted - and by God, he wanted you.

One Dress a Day Challenge
June: Weddings
Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones / Natalie Portman as Padmé Amidala
I'm sure everyone's heard the story by now about how the decoration for the dress was taken from an antique bedspread, mixed with 300 yards of French-knit braid created at a workshop in Sydney, Australia. That's an amazing amount of work for a dress that only appears onscreen very briefly, but it become instantly iconic, so I guess they knew what they were doing.
The decoration on the veil is described as seed pearls and "Edwardian wax flowers," but I'm not sure whether that means the wax flowers are themselves antique or whether they're just made using an Edwardian method.
In-universe, Padme apparently whipped up this wedding gown herself with the help of a former handmaiden and a sewing droid.

Beneath the raven feathers of Shamanism and the oak bark of Druidism… Beneath the Mongolian Steppe and the Four Great Taoist mountains… Beneath the Rainbow Serpent Skin of the Aborigine… Beneath, woven within, carried on the breath of sung Haida hymns… There’s a seed point from which all sacred rituals, knowledge, and awarenesses sprout from… there’s a common tap root drinking from the river beneath the river where the Earth dreams the world into being with the help of Spider Woman weaving at her loom.
The mythtellers call this Earth Speech… The Hopi and Daneh of the SouthWest U.S. call it the original instructions given to us by Creator… My Babas of the Himalayas spoke of them as the original understandings… The aborigine of Australia call them the original songlines… I’ve heard say that to the ancestral clans of Northern Europe these were known as the original seeds…
Each tradition has dressed them within the robes of their colorful culture and the path to tapping the river beneath the river are much the same… a way of listening to the Earth Dreaming… attuning the subtle conversations and relationships in nature… being silent… observing… regarding all of nature, the animals, weather, and plants as our teachers….
The ancestors share, don’t mimic our traditions, seek what we sought… relationship with the subtle. In doing so you don’t acquire information, you remember your own songline connected to the tap root to the river beneath the river and hence it becomes your own.
In other words, this isn't knowledge you learn, it's wisdom you become.

Uley Road Cemetery
Over time, a local prank can turn into an urban legend, and then into a ‘real deal’ ghost story.
Uley Road Cemetery is one such place, where nearby events may be the cause for its haunted reputation… at least for one of the stories.
Still, this place creeps out many who visit it.
Uley Road Cemetery (also known as ‘Uleybury Baptist Church Cemetery’ and ‘Uley Chapel Cemetery’ among others, depending who you ask) is built in Uleybury a little ways East of Munno Para.
When Moses Bendle Garlick, a weaver, migrated to Australia from Uley, Gloucestershire, England, he was so reminded of his home that when he settled he named the area ‘Uleybury’.
In 1851 Garlick paid four hundred pounds for a small chapel to be built in an acre of his land set aside for the church. Garlick also helped the building of the Uleybury School in 1856. Moses Garlick died in 1859 and a memorial spire is erected in the Uley Cemetery to his name and efforts.
There is much history to be found in the cemetery with many tales both grand and strange. A English woman traveled to Uleybury to plant a stick of willow from Napoleons grave on her sons burial plot where it ‘grew into a fine tree’. Many of the pioneers of the area are buried in that acre of land, land which has been used by the many religious denominations common to that area.
As with all cemeteries Uley is not without it’s share of ghost stories. The old chapel which was demolished in 1981 is said to have been used for all sorts of unholy practices. Through the 70’s and 80’s the cemetery was a regular hangout for young people and the headstones and chapel were badly vandalized – most of the damage you see today was caused back then. Many stories have popped up from that time and the stories still linger either re-experienced or passed down as legend.
One of the more common ghost stories, the ghost in white, may have been seeded prior to 1953 when a local man would dress in white sheets and jump out, scaring the hell out of passers by. The nearby crossroads have the local name ‘Ghost Corner’ due to these pranks. Today people share stories of a girl in white stepping out on the road right in front of your car, or a woman in a wedding dress running out on the road screaming – variations of peoples experiences due to that old prank?
Footsteps, moving shadows, whispers, talking and cries in the dark have all been reported out at Uley Road. Many people who have ventured out there at night have taken away an experience.
Are the stories of ghosts and spooks due to heavy imaginations borne from the all too commonly found tales about the area or is there indeed something haunting this piece of colonial past?

International Carrot Day
Bake it into a cake, crunch it with some ranch, or cook it up in a butter sauce: the carrot is healthy, tasty, and surprisingly easy to grow for your own.
Ahhh, the ubiquitous carrot. A favorite food of rabbits, amazing for the eyesight, and the foundation of what is easily one of the greatest cakes ever conceived! This root vegetable is full of vitamins and nutrition, while being tasty as well!
When people think of a carrot, it’s doubtless that the mind is immediately brought to the bright orange root with the green foliage. The same one that is often found sticking out of the face of a snowman during winter.
But does everyone know that orange is just one of the many colors that carrots naturally come in? In fact, orange isn’t even the most common color of carrots outside of the Americas!
International Carrot Day is a perfect opportunity to learn more about all of the various cultivars of carrot, and what they can bring to the enjoyment and nutrition of meals!
History of International Carrot Day
The history of International Carrot Day is really the history of the carrot, and research of this incredibly popular root has revealed that it likely finds its origins in Central Asia. Through thousands of years of careful cultivation, the world has ultimately arrived at the bright orange, slightly sweet, not at all bitter variety of carrot that is regularly found in recipes today!
International Carrot Day, itself, was established in 2003 and it has spread throughout the world to all the places the carrot is known. By 2012. International Carrot Day Celebrations had found their way around the globe to several countries on different continents, including France, Sweden, Italy, Russia, Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
As previously mentioned, there are multiple varieties of this popular vegetable, known as cultivars, that range away from the traditional orange color people typically think of.
There’s the purple dragon carrot, a lovely form of this root vegetable that has a deliciously complex flavor, slightly spicy with a kid-friendly sweetness. There’s also a lovely yellow carrot that is colored as bright yellow as a banana but has a wonderful flavor all its own.
Carrots are the foundation of so many meals, from rich and savory stews to sweet cakes and candies. They can serve as almost any part of a meal as well, including a sweet candied carrot or as the color to a tray of richly roasted vegetables.
International Carrot Day celebrates this root in all its uses, forms and flavors!
How to Celebrate International Carrot Day
Enjoying International Carrot Day is a fairly simple concept that mostly revolves around eating carrots, of course. But other creative ideas can also be thrown into the mix!
Eat Carrots, Carrots, and More Carrots
The easiest and tastiest way to celebrate International Carrot Day is to make sure that carrots are featured in every meal!
Start the day with a couple of carrot-apple breakfast muffins. Then take along a bag of baby carrots with a bit of ranch dressing for a snack throughout the day. Round out the lunch meal with a slice of delicious carrot cake.
Then, at dinner, enjoy the fundamental flavor of roast vegetables featuring the favorite of the day: the carrot!
Make a Carrot Cake
A tasty favorite for many, the carrot cake uses this vegetable in a surprising way. Adding spice to the cake and topping it with cream cheese frosting is the perfect way to enjoy and celebrate this versatile vegetable.
Plant Some Carrots
One great way to honor the carrot is by taking a try at growing some! They’re not a difficult plant to grow, but they do require soil that is in good condition. They can be planted from seed indoors in cooler months and then moved outdoors when the weather is warmer.
Because they tend to grow around rocks and other roots in the soil, home grown carrots may not turn out exactly straight. In fact, it can be fairly entertaining to see what shapes they grow into while hiding underground! No matter what shape they are, they’re sure to be delicious and nutritious.
Throw a Carrot Party
People who are looking for a place to serve that carrot cake they made might as well go ahead and host a International Carrot Day Party! Gather some friends together and enjoy all of the lovely benefits and tastes of carrots. The menu will obviously be filled with multiple appetizers, snacks, and desserts all including carrots as ingredients.
Don’t forget that Carrot Juice and Carrot Shots are fun ways to ingest this healthy food. For orange-themed drinks that aren’t made of carrots, consider orange soda or soft drinks, just to keep things interesting.
Decorate the room in various orange and green items (balloons, crepe paper, paper goods, etc.) and carrot-themed decor. For even more fun, have guests dress head-to-toe in orange. It might even be fun, for a friend who isn’t highly sensitive about their red ‘carrot-top’ hair, to be the guest of honor!
Visit the Carrot Museum
Who knew that there was an entire museum dedicated to learning about carrots? And the best thing of all is that it’s accessible to anyone because it’s a Virtual Museum! Hosted by the World Carrot Museum foundation, the online page offers all kinds of opportunities and adventures in carrots.
Take an interactive tour, learn about the history and evolution of the carrot, see the difference between domesticated and wild carrots, and even discover ancient manuscripts and illustrations that are all related to this venerable veg!
International Carrot Day really is an opportunity for the all-purpose vegetable, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert. And a nose for a snowman! Carrots really can do it all!

She Wears the Midnight Crown Contributor Spotlight: S. Z. Meriläinen
Biography: Satu Meriläinen grew up exploring the Great Barrier Reef off Queensland, Australia, and foraging through pine forests in rural Finland. Story Title: Carved of Ice and Snow
Teaser:
Tendrils of ice had squirmed beneath it and were winding their way towards the stranger’s supine body. Siofra lunged forward and stomped her heels hard into the ice, shattering it below her heel. It splattered the floor with shards and mud from the tread of her boots. Muttering, she glared at the tendrils, which quickly slunk back to linger, uncertainly, by the door. To vent her frustration, she sent her kicked-off boots to thud against the door above them.
Despite her anger, the ice tendrils lingered. Siofra almost fancied they were wistfully waiting for a chance to reach for…
She turned to the stranger, moving closer to kneel by their side. Despite the heat filling the room, the snow that coated them was still intact. Siofra brushed it away with brisk swipes of her hands, hands travelling up the stranger’s body, fingertips trailing over powerfully built muscles. The stranger was, so far as Siofra could tell, a normal elvish—no, human, judging by the rounded ears—woman who wore a loose dress dyed in irregular starbursts of colour that shifted like sunlight off a flowing stream.

He Bears the Cape of Stars Contributor Spotlight: Maggie Page
Biography: Maggie Page lives in Texas with family, including her incorrigibly clumsy mom with a green thumb, two silly dogs who are also mother and daughter, and a fierce feline hunter. Maggie has previously published several poems and a piece of flash fiction with collegiate and independent journals.
When not indulging the urge to write, Maggie enjoys music, traveling, camping, dabbling in various art forms, principally watercolor and graphic making, and torturing her loved ones with her ruthless board game victories.
Story Title: Sincerely and Enigmatically Yours
Teaser:
“You’re all ready. Paid in full.” Felicia fussed with the card attached to the aubergine ribbon tied around the vase. “I do hope you enjoy them; be sure to pay close attention to the note.”
“Thank you. Have a nice day.”
Felicia winked. “You too, dear.”
Stepping out the door felt like leaving another dimension. He carried his prize as if the plants harbored a little bit of magic and settled the bouquet carefully into his car. Unable to resist his curiosity, Marcelo reached for the card. Inside, he found a poem like those in the adventure stories he’d read as a child.
A rose for love is too cliché
to express what I would say.
These blooms for you instead convey
noble qualities you display:
You never do a thing halfway.
When others go, you always stay.
You take the time to savor play.
One final hint with no delay:
The liar wetly will relay,
“In company, I hide away
among the twins and scales that weigh.”

Amphibia - Vacation Epilogue
Sprig: Large stuffed wombat. Anne tried to find a stuffed quokka, but for some reason nobody in Cairns seemed to sell one. Additionally, Marcy bought him a book on local wildlife.
Polly: Spent shell casings from the tank museum - Sasha managed to get herself talked into trying their firing range, and brought home the casings and a slight bruise to show for it. Anne also found a copy of the first Transformers film at a local market, which she knew was terrible, but in a way Polly would probably enjoy.
Hop Pop: A bag of local seeds, which were seized by customs as a breach of Australia’s cheap biosecurity laws, and a book on the history of farming in the Atherton Tablelands.
Grime: An ‘Owner’s Workshop Manual’ for the German Panzer IV from the tank museum and a large plush crocodile.
Olivia: A dress from the Kuranda Markets and a locket from the nearby Heritage Markets, into which Marcy inserted a picture of Olivia, Yunan and Marcy at the former’s wedding.
Yunan: Another ‘Owner’s Workshop Manual’ for the British Churchill tank, a number of 1:6th scale models of guns, and an ultra-soft plush koala.
Mr. Boonchuy: A second-hand copy of Red Alert 2, a bag full of fridge magnets and a bunch of polaroid photos Marcy took.
Mrs. Boonchuy: A couple of art pieces made by Djabugay artists, the traditional owners of the Kuranda region, and a small metal cat figure that looked faintly like Domino.
Ivy: A necklace made of red opals (for Sprig to give her on their anniversary.)
Maddie: A couple of gemstones she requested for use in spells.
Wally: A book on Australian cryptids.
Loggle: A wooden figure of a kangaroo.
Mrs. Croaker: A small metal figurine of a huntsman spider.
Dr. Jan: A book on the history of the Kuranda railway and a book on dinosaurs that lived in what is now Australia.
Terri: A model of a Kuranda railway engine and a bag of Tim Tams.
Ally and Jess: A large, handmade plush robot koala that Anne found from a local seller.
Mr. X and Jenny: The official history of ASIO.

The 2023 Hater's Guide to the West Region
This blog is not in any way affiliated with the NCAA, its entities, subsidiaries, or member institutions. This is a humor site and should be treated as such. We’re all on our way out – act accordingly.
Tumblr media
1. Kansas (28-6). When Texas beat Kansas to end the Big 12 (8?) regular season, the intrepid videographer shooting the game happened to catch a KU coed wearing a t-shirt which read “I (heart) Dick.” A-fucking-mazing. Look, I don’t have to tell you KU fans need this one seed, need the wins, need a title more than anything to justify their continued existence. They live in Kansas for fuck’s sake – Interstate 70 ends in Lawrence and you are stuck wandering the plains like Denzel Washington in Book of Eli until you reach Colorado, and the interstate magically appears again. There is NOTHING to do here other than watch basketball, and that says a lot, because I live in Iowa!
Tumblr media
2. UCLA (29-5). This is a Bruin, right? With that face, I am 100% sure his name is “Crick Monin.”
3. Gonzaga (28-5). There is a new Constitutional amendment which clearly states you are no longer allowed to refer to Gonzaga as a Cinderella school. It’s been twenty five years - I think the slipper finally broke. They’ve now been in every final AP poll since the 2008-09 season, and have appeared in every weekly AP poll since 2016-17, a streak of 115 consecutive weeks. I will never stop laughing when eighth year senior Drew Timme appears on my TV screen. All I see is TIMMY from South Park. Fuck John Stockton.
4. UConn (25-8). Go back to the AAC! Biggest group of crybabies in the country and it isn’t even close. When their women’s team had an injury plagued season (lost five games including back-to-back games for the first time in 30 years), Geno Auriemma vented to the media and to his team, telling them they had three days before the conference tournament to fix things. Then he got in his car and drove home to Manchester, wishing he could continue westward. “The way I felt was I want to wake up in California in three days,” he said. “I just want to keep driving, I don’t want to do anything, I don’t want to come to practice.” Jesus man, just fucking quit already and move away from that awful place. Twitter account CrimsonCast put it best: UConn continues to fail to shake the perception that they are simply an analytics darling. Like an east coast version of the Mountain West.
5. Saint Mary’s (26-7). Every bracket, no matter the site, always lists this school as “Saint Mary’s (CA).” Why? No one is confusing this school for the archaeological dig site posing as a university in Maryland, or the all-women’s college in north-central Indiana where many of the enrolled students play for nearby Leprechaun U, also known as Notre Dame. No, this is the school – in California – that gets exclusive coverage on ESPN Australia/New Zealand. Sixty percent of the student body is involved in organized athletics here, so it’s a good chance you’ll be handed a scholarship and some sort of ball upon move-in. It’s either that or forced labor washing jockstraps.
6. TCU (21-12). Their coach gives out a pair of “charge socks” when a Horned Frog player takes a charge. There’s a big bucket of these colorful dress socks in the TCU locker room. Charge socks? You have to be kidding me. You are in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, you can’t find a bag of blow or an extra couple of c-notes for your athletes? (Producer cuts in…garbled static…). Pardon me, I’ve just been informed that the “C” in TCU stands for “Christian.” There is no cocaine on campus. But NIL is legal now, surely you can find something other than a pair of sweaty dress socks to reward your unpaid employees. Perhaps a sad handjob from a coed who has already put on the freshman 15+15+15?
7. Northwestern (21-11). Congratulations, you finished top three in the Big Ten for the first time since 1960. You won your last conference championship 90 (!) years ago. You have made one (1) NCAA tournament and had to be retroactively selected as something called the Helms National Champion. Your most successful head coach played for Phog Allen at Kansas – in 1917! Northwestern basketball is the definition of futility. They are the Chicago Cubs of the NCAA; fitting for a program that markets itself as “Chicago’s Big Ten team” (insert jerking off hand motion here). Even if Northwestern won 25 games a season for the next 25 years, they would still have a losing record.
8. Arkansas (20-13). It is against state law to mispronounce “Arkansas'' while in the state, yet their residents  pronounce jalapeno “Holla-PEE-no.” Gun to my head, I wouldn’t be able to look at Sarah Huckabee Sanders naked, playing with a hula hoop, for more than a second.
9. Illinois (20-12). Brad Underwood is a bargain-bin Gene Keady who is very upset about “booty ball.” Every press conference he attends ends with him making a wet fart sound into the microphone.
Tumblr media
10. Boise State (24-9). No one gives a shit about this team unless tater tots rise to $6 a bag – then it’s time to storm the blue court. I know exactly one person from Idaho and their personality matches that of the official state produce. This person is incapable of being corrected. They are always right. You are always wrong. If you say the sky is blue, their response will no doubt begin with “well, actually…” Boise is also not a state, you arrogant fuckhead.
Tumblr media
11. Arizona State (20-12) or Nevada (23-9). Over 60% of the student body at ASU has some form of herpes. Unless you are a model, they throw you in an engineering building for four years. If you hate Duke just like the rest of America, you generally hate Christian Laettner and Grant Hill. But there’s one player from those early-90s teams everyone forgot: Bobby Hurley. As I’ve aged, my hatred for Hurley has waned, but I’ll always wish maximum pain for whatever team he coaches.
With the growth of legalized sports gambling across the United States, the University of Nevada has introduced several new classes for the 2023-24 school year: Kneecap Relocation, Intermediate Hammer Smashing Techniques, and Advanced Vig Calculation. Another new course addition as of Thursday morning: Getting Your Shit Pushed In By A Sun Devil Pitchfork. Too soon? Probably.
12. VCU (27-7). VCU stands for Very Completely Underwhelming. This isn’t a college, it’s an industrial laundry that has tricked 28,000 students into paying the institution to “work.” If you want a perfect example of the bloat in higher education administration, consider there are over 11,000 non-academic staff at VCU. Never trust a doctor from this school; they only practiced on centaurs.
13. Iona (27-7). Someone is going to give Rick Pitino the best 14 seconds of his life to coach for them.
14. Grand Canyon (24-11). By employing buzzer-beating Valpo alum Bryce Drew, this pretend university has already accomplished more in the NCAA Tournament than Mount Rushmore State, Hoover Dam U, Smokey Mountains College and SUNY-Niagara Falls.
15. UNC Asheville (27-7). Let’s have a quick check-in on how this college is doing. Student enrollment and retention are plunging at UNC-Asheville and top leadership is departing at the highest rate in the entire UNC system. While overall student enrollment in the UNC system has increased 7% since 2015, UNC-Asheville fell by a stunning 25%, the largest drop among the 16 public universities in the system. Of the incoming students UNC-A is able to attract, a high number of them leave before graduation. Retention of students, measured as those returning for a second year of school, is now just 68.6%, the lowest in ten years. Jesus, even Trump University would laugh at these numbers.
16. Howard (22-12). Howard students recently had to protest living conditions in on-campus dorms – mold, mildew, and rats are apparently very commonplace in multiple residences. It is 2023; the only sensible reason these alarming conditions should be issues on your campus is when you have outsourced every part of the student life experience to a call center in the middle of the Himalayas.

The Jonicles - Entry 29
Tumblr media
It is currently the 31st of October, 2022 at 4:51 am, the morning of a very spooktacular day: Halloween!! You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this day even though they always have school on this day for some... stupid reason... That's like having school on your birthday... But now is not the time to be gloomy! Tonight is the night of binging scary movies, playing your favourite horror games and making yourself sick from eating too much junk food all night! Today also marks the #165th day of my Jon Arbuckle hyperfixation!!
You know, Garfield isn't a stranger to celebrating holidays at all. He celebrates Christmas, New Years, his birthday, Thanksgiving because he's weird and lives in America, and finally the spooky day itself, Halloween. When they were making the cartoons back in the 80s, they made these holiday specials - around three to be exact - and the Halloween one was the one I watched the most as a child!
I remember sitting down on the floor in front of the TV at my old house when I would have been around five or younger, and the Garfield Halloween special would be playing. It's nostalgic to think back to that special and remembering Garfield having a musical number about deciding what to dress up as, going out into the night with Odie, finding that spooky old house and being told of the story of these ghost pirates from the weird old guy living in the house. The ghost pirates were definitely the one thing that stuck out to me the most.
The old man in the house tells the story of these pirates that once plundered the seas looking for treasure, but as they found their riches, they had to bury it for their doom would soon come iiii'm not actually too sure what happened to them... But they swore that come 100 years on that very Halloween night where Garfield and Odie stood, they would return to claim their riches as ghastly spirits right at midnight. A ghostly ship that rippled in the wind soon came sailing across the water towards the house, promptly scaring our two heros shitless in the process. They were horrific, undeadly, spooky and they wanted their treasure. They chased Garfield and Odie away, leaving them to fend for themselves, desperate to get back home...
The special also had plenty of other memorable bits (at least to me anyway), like our favourite boy Jon looking absolutely bored out of his mind scooping pumpkin guts out from a carved Jack-O-Lantern and being startled so hard by what he thought was a ghost that the carved fruit (is it a fruit? it has seeds...) landed right on the lad's head. There was also the aforementioned song number about Garfield deciding who he'd dress up as for Halloween, eventually coming to the conclusion that him and Odie would be pirates! It's funny because as a child, I used to have this plush Garfield who was dressed up like a little pirate. Actually, it was my dad's, but the little thing was fun to play with. I don't know where the guy went, we moved houses years ago and he seemed to disappear. He was most likely donated but I miss him...
A-Anyway, the two both go plundering out i to the night as two pirates, Garfy baby being the captain and Odie as his crewmate. They have this smooth jazzy number about how Garfield isn't a scardey cat, he's all good, nothing to eb afraid of! ...Before promptly being scared by everyone's spooky costumes when they realise some of them aren't who they appear to be before they find a boat and row to the house. At the end of the special, when they've been scared shitless by the ghost pirates and collected their goods, Garfield has a tough choice to make. He's got two bags of lollies (because that's what we call candy here in Australia), and he's gotta decide: Does he keep them for himself, or pass one on to his old buddy Odie? Garfield made it clear at the beginning of the special that he'd use Odie to get two times as much lollies (or candy) and keep it all to himself, but... Ultimately, with Odie being his bestie, his bro and saving him back at that ghost pirate blunder, he decides to give Odie his share of lollies and goes to sleep for the night... Not before seeing that creepy old guy wearing his pirate hat on TV!
There's other pieces of Halloween media related to Garfield too, but most likely, you already know about these ones. Back in the 80s, Jim Davis created a series of strips for Halloween where Garfield wakes up to find his home completely abandoned and boarded up. As he ventures deeper into his home, he finds out that he's just been here for years and his beloved Jon and Odie have been long gone. Unable to face the truth of the inevitability of time and probably slowly starving to death, Garfield realises he's only one weapon: Denial. Jon and Odie soon phase back into existense and Garfield meets the both of them with an embrace, revealing Jon and Odie to merely be a figment of Garfield's warped imagination. This comic is freaky, it makes such a scary concept - the inevitability of time and death - even scarier by having Garfield be trapped in a reality where he doesn't exist and be in complete denial. It's both relatable and depressing. Time is such a horrifying thing and you don't realise how much you care about something or someone until they're gone because of time. That's already powerful in itself, but I think the last panel has the most punch. It reads:
"An imagination can be a powerful tool. It can tint memories of the present, or paint a future so vivid that it can entice... Or terrify, all depending upon how we conduct ourselves today."
There's also the Garfield's Scary Scavenger Hunt games, which I may make a separate entry about! I never played those as a child, but I remember hearing about them through learning about Lyman's disappearance. There was a long gap where I didn't read much Garfield between when I was a kid and when my Jon fixation started, so I never really played Scary Scavenger Hunt when I was little despite having played a bunch of flash games. But, it's still a great spooky duo of games that definitely is worth a mention!
So, with all that said, have a Happy Halloween, folks! Lets hope your day is scary and spooky and full of treats and surprises! And for those who don't celebrate Halloween, have yourselves a great day regardless! If you don't mind, I'm off to watch a bunch of spooky stuff, rewatch the Garfield special and play Luigi's Mansion for the day... As long as I don't have any school, that is...

Your Local Jonnoissuer

Day 5: At LAST I have something to tell you rather than what we’ve eaten for dinner!! Generally we feel that we have been rushing so much we are missing a lot of interesting things but it turns out 2 weeks is NOTHING in this part of Australia. Last night’s stay at the Port t Lincoln G’Day Caravan Park was excellent. Very good facilities and we had a beautiful evening view. I can recommend that spot.
This morning we decided we had to face the job of emptying the grey water waste so Wendy, ever the intrepid soldier, crawled underneath the van after we looked at the videos I took of the girl giving us van instructions and we were reminded where the outlet tap was, only to find we couldn’t connect it properly and the man in the next door van, dressed in dirty smelly jeans, couldn’t either and he gave up when we thought he was about to show us his trip photos and Wendy said “Do you mind, but we are on a mission to get the waste water drained” and he left us!! We gave up too, rolled up the hose, finished packing up and we were off in a straight line to Coffin Bay for our morning coffee and fruit toast treat. Hopefully a photo on that.
This is what happened at Coffin Bay:
Delicious coffee and very well presented fruit toast at the cafe. BUT!! The highlight was making friends at the cafe with a couple from Cairns who were visiting Coffin Bay for a 40 year football reunion and the husband works in agribanking with Rural Bank and knows Hugh Haynes’ nephew Jim Robinson!!! What are the chances of I that! They were also a great source of local information. We waved each other off and - following more local knowledge from another friend - visited one of the many oyster factories - Coffin Bay Executive Oysters - and met Zane and Wade who are deep sea divers, but have bought an oyster business and gave us a truly interesting lesson on how oysters grow. Did you know they start off being really tiny? The boys buy the tiny “seeds” at Port Lincoln which are then regularly sized and separated (as Wade said, just like sorting different mobs of sheep!) and in 15-18 months we get to eat them. It’s intensive work. It was a really informative session.
As they didn’t have any fresh oysters left, we then called in to another factory and bought what started off as 2 dozen fresh oysters and ended up being 40 oysters and a shucking knife and a shucking lesson for me …. “Easy!” I thought!!!! - for $40.
On the straight road again and I have to share with you one of many Wendyisms: Preface this with, I am not a great passenger if we are going fast - so we have now come to an understanding about that. Wendy likes to look about when driving and today she said to me “ Watch the road!” as she was looking intently at the old stone fence lines that border the paddock against the road!!!!!
We were discussing how HARD it must have been for the first farmers who came here in the heat etc etc, even though we both agree that South Australia agriculture around here could get a bit more environmentally aware. There may well be farmers around here who are right into sustainable farming but we couldn’t see it from the road. Another Wendyism today came after we wanted to take photos of the old rock fences and when I suggested she slow right down so I could take a photo, she said “No we can’t slow down, we only have two weeks!!!”
So off we went again and arrived at Streaky Bay at The Foreshores Caravan Park which is highly recommended! Water views and clean as a whistle again. This makes the third G’day group of caravan parks and each one gets better. I wonder what the “real” Nullarbor ones will be like??🥴🥴. We quickly did some shopping, including 2 baby bottles of Prosecco as well as healthy stuff and back at the caravan park I launched into the “easy” job of shucking our first dozen oysters………. couldn’t do it of course, but luckily, met Dave, who could!!! I gave him half a dozen oysters as a thank you (hope he’s here again tomorrow night!!). So Wendy and I sat down near the water (in the dark by this time) and enjoyed half a dozen DELICIOUS oysters and a couple of our little plastic wine glasses of Prosecco. Then, a bowl of salad. Life is good.
We think we might stay here another night but will make our mind up in the morning. We need to do some washing…
Highlight of the day would have to be learning about growing oysters.
I am trying to load photos but not sure what luck I am having.
Until tomorrow. X

Seed Treatment Market to Reach $14.36 Billion by 2031
Meticulous Research®—a leading global market research company, published a research report titled ‘Seed Treatment Market by Type (Chemical {Insecticides}, Biological), Form (Liquid, Dry), Function (Seed Protection, Seed Enhancement), Application Technique (Seed Coating, Seed Dressing), Crop Type (Cereals & Grains, Oilseeds) - Global Forecast to 2031’.
According to this latest publication from Meticulous Research®, the global seed treatment market is projected to reach $14.36 billion by 2031, at a CAGR of 10.4% from 2024 to 2031. The rising need for low-cost crop protection solutions to increase crop yield and quality, the increasing need to maintain minimum residue limit, and the advancements in seed treatment equipment contribute to the growth of the global seed treatment market. The rising costs of high-quality seeds (hybrid and GM seeds), the benefits offered by seed treatment, and the declining availability of agricultural land also drive growth of the market.
However, the stringent and non-standardized regulations, financial hurdles for new entrants, restrictions on the use of neonicotinoids, and limited shelf-life of treated seeds are expected to hinder market growth to some extent.
Moreover, the increasing focus on integrated pest management, growing adoption of biological seed treatment and emergence of biodegradable seed coatings are expected to provide market growth opportunities for the stakeholders operating in this market. Nevertheless, the substantial challenges faced by stakeholders in this market are the complicated process of developing film coating for seed treatment and growing resistance to crop protection products.
Key Players:
The global seed treatment market is characterized by a moderately competitive scenario due to the presence of many large- and small-sized global, regional, and local players. The key players operating in the global seed treatment market are Bayer AG (Germany), Syngenta AG (Switzerland) (a part of China National Chemical Corporation/ChemChina), BASF SE (Germany), Corteva Inc. (U.S.), UPL Limited (India), Nufarm Limited (Australia), FMC Corporation (U.S.), Tagros Chemicals India Ltd. (India), Germains Seed Technology (U.K.) (Part of Associated British Foods Plc), Verdesian Life Sciences, LLC (U.S.), Novozymes A/S (Denmark), Valent BioSciences LLC (U.S.), Croda International Plc (U.K.), and Precision Laboratories, LLC (U.S.).
The global seed treatment market is mainly segmented by type (chemical {insecticides, fungicides, and other chemical seed treatment} and biological {microbial [biofertilizers, biopesticides, and biostimulants], biochemical, and other biological seed treatment}), form (liquid and dry), function (seed protection and seed enhancement), application techniques (seed coating, seed dressing, and seed pelleting), crop type (cereals and grains {corn, wheat, and other cereals & grains), oilseeds {soybean, cotton, and canola}, and other crops), and geography (North America, Europe, East Asia, South & Southeast Asia, Australasia, Latin America, and the Middle East & Africa). The study also evaluates industry competitors and analyses the regional and country-level markets.
Based on type, the global seed treatment market is segmented into chemical seed treatment and biological seed treatment. The chemical seed treatment segment is expected to account for the larger share of the global seed treatment market in 2024. The large market share of this segment is attributed to its increasing use in developing countries, ease of availability, high efficiency, and lower costs compared to biological products.
Based on form, the global seed treatment market is segmented into liquid and dry. The liquid segment is expected to account for the larger share of the global seed treatment market in 2024 owing to its high usage by farmers due to ease of handling, better seed coverage, better performance, and higher effective duration (up to 6 months) than dry form (up to 3 months). Furthermore, liquid form offers better safety to workers due to the dust associated with dry form.
Based on function, the global seed treatment market is segmented into seed protection and seed enhancement. The seed protection segment is expected to account for the larger share of the global seed treatment market in 2024 owing to factors such as low cost, ease of handling, non-injurious to seed under prolonged storage, increasing effectiveness against most diseases, and compatibility with inoculants.
Based on application technique, the global seed treatment market is segmented into seed coating, seed dressing, and seed pelleting. The seed coating segment is expected to account for the larger share of the global seed treatment market in 2024, owing to the increasing need to protect seeds from external factors, such as fungi, parasites, pathogens, and extreme temperatures.
Based on crop type, the global seed treatment market is segmented into cereals & grains, oilseeds, and other crops. The cereals & grains segment is expected to account for the largest share of the global seed treatment market in 2024 owing to the growing need to increase cereal & grain production, minimize cereal & grain loss due to pests and diseases, and their increasing use in animal feed, biofuel, and starch & ethanol production.
Geographic Review
This research report analyzes major geographies and provides a comprehensive analysis of North America (U.S., Canada), Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, U.K., Rest of Europe), East Asia (China, Japan, South Korea, and Rest of East Asia), South & Southeast Asia (India, Indonesia, and Rest of South & Southeast Asia), Australasia, Latin America (Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, and Rest of Latin America), and Middle East & Africa.
In 2024, North America is expected to account for the largest share of the global seed treatment market. The large share of this market is attributed to the growing demand for high-yielding and disease-tolerant crops from domestic markets and export destinations. Moreover, factors such as an organized distribution chain for crop protection chemicals, the availability of water and land, entrepreneurial farmers, the growing awareness about sustainable crop production techniques to lessen environmental impact, and the presence of a large number of stakeholders support the growth of this market in the region.
However, the market in East Asia is slated to register the fastest growth rate during the forecast period of 2024–2031. The growth of this regional market is driven by factors such as the increasing farm sizes, the rising demand for high-yield crop products, the increasing organic crop production in the region, especially in China & Japan, and the growing support from various organizations & governments to enhance crop cultivation.
