light novel reread, vol. 1 ch. 6
this is our introduction to namie and everything going on with yagiri pharmaceuticals. this is a another chapter that i feel like wasn't done justice in the anime.
although it could be my memory/processing disorders, it seems to me like namie and seiji weren't given this much backstory in the animation. it was more like "yeah, sis is fucked. its just like that." i also appreciate the line about namie's um. affection for seiji being a "twisted one-sided mockery of romance". her actions definitely fit into the overarching narrative of twisted love in drrr, although i feel like it could have been handled better in the anime.
the obvious implication here is that shingen is behind nebula's desire to acquire yagiri (and celty's head). i cant remember whether there was ever an explanation for how he knew they had it- that's something i'll have to look out for as the series progresses, and a big reason that i wanted to reread the novels- i know there's so much that i missed the first time.
this exchange ALMOST made me feel bad for izaya but then i remembered he was drugging women and stuffing them in suitcases not 24 hours ago. get bent gayboy
