well its been a year since I drew this

my 2023 year in review:

published the most recent update for tnp in january

started work on hh originally in twine back in march

wrote and published one day hike in april

wrote and published faith in june for neo-twiny jam

refined hh as a novel instead and wrote the first draft between may-august

wrote and published siren's call in september

also started working on blood choke in may and published the prologue & ch1-2 in july, then ch3 in november

i started a few things that i haven't finished but will hopefully finish this year... bleeding heart will definitely be published within the next month for vampjamp.

i guess my hopes for this year will be:

finish bleeding heart in time for vampjamp (this will definitely happen)

finish the blackwater route for tnp and finally move on to ch3

ch4 of blood choke

workshop hell or highwater & decide what direction i want to take it in

start second draft of hh

#i did write a lot this year i guess. lol #just not for any of the projects i should have (tnp) #i cant really say im that proud of anything that i published tho #one day hike was cathartic and felt like the best thing i'd ever written at the time #but really i think it's just cus i actually finished something for once lmfao #i havent reread it and probably won't #i rushed siren's call and also havent reread it since september #i do like what ive done with blood choke. but im disappointed how much i dropped productivity on it after november #tnp took me at least 2 yrs before i started writing this slow #its frustrating how fast it happened with blood choke... #and even more frustrating bc im so excited for what i have planned. i want to be more proud of it #oh well. the time will pass anyways as they say #i really wish i had an office or desk to write at. i feel like i would be so much more motivated & productive #and also if i didnt work my shitty soul-sucking retail job but. lol

So you all heard me getting approved for hrt yesterday?

Well, I was told that I now would have two appointments to look forward to one being with a nurse and one with a doctor. Both would be send to me asap.

Having been in this game for almost a year now I have gotten used to things taking at least a week so seeing both appointment arriving today was a surprise - the first is already next wednesday aka tavastia 2.0 day aka september 20

Here's the catch: it is the appointment with the nurse so I have to have my blood tested first. Yet trying to book an appointment myself turned out to be litterally impossible since everywhere I went the first available time was in october

I saw my whole plan go down the drain in this moment so I called up the gender clinic to hopefully get a new nurse appointment. Well fools on me since the nurse could book me a blood test tomorrow 🤣😅

Here's the important dates then;

September 13 - blood test at 11.10 am

September 20 - nurse appointment at 12.30 PM

November 22 - doctor appointment at 10 am

most terrifying postgrad experience, by far, is having to ask my old boss at the studio where i did my internship if he's hiring after basically ghosting him for a year

#okay so i /technically/ didn't ghost him i just though i was going to turn in my master's thesis last september and then i didn't #and then again the same thing happened in november and after that i just sent him a message thanking him and the rest of the studio for #everything and wishing them the best bc they were hoping to hire me after i graduated but knowing i wasnt going to turn my thesis in #for at least another seven months it just wasn't worth it sadly #but one of the men i worked there with who is a family friend keeps insisting i ask my boss for a job and well. it's embarrassing as hell #zai.ez

Oooooogh god I need to decide what treats to bake for halloween and what to have for halloween dinner and I still need to decorate and aaaaaaaa

#i was planning on baking less treats and buying less candy for myself but....... #usually i do a main celebration on halloween where i order food (usually pizza) and have a bunch of baked goods and candy and popcorn #and chips and fancy drinks and watch movies #then have little movie nights all throughout november until i run out of treats #and when i was blissfully unemployed I'd stay up til like. 7am #but y'know. now that i have a job i can't do that shit #well i could but i wpuld pass away #but again now that i have a job these movie nights are relegated to weekends #so im planning on having little movie nights on the weekends before and after halloween #and the big celebration on the weekend before halloween #ill give out the goodie bags and order food on halloween night still. but i can't stay up late #previous years i would get the halloween decorations and all my spooky clothes out in like. this is. next month and the month after's project technically but the plant monster fic i'm planning for nano, which is this fantasy/horror au @varilien and i came up with, it's still bare-bones structurally right now but i'm Very excited to get to the juicy bits.

it was originally a 98 + trimax fic, but stampede's given me a lot of ideas too, so it's going to be fun to play with the whole toolkit. i usually keep to one canon but i am taking the gloves OFF for this one.

ok like realistically am i gonna finish discacc this year? probably not. but i think shooting for it could really help me with having a goal & feeling less listless with it all. bc part of how long chapters have been taking this year have been how much of a drag it's been to get through all this stuff. it's important & i think i did an okay job at making it interesting to read still (at least regular commenters seem to think so), but it's still been... a Lot to get through.

but im getting to more plot type stuff. i can really start moving forward again. so Maybe. this year. i can finally check those last little bits off the fic's To Do list. we'll see.
