Qiu and MC hours in the house.
[Spoliers for the new update]
MC asking, no basically demanding, pleading Qiu to ask them to stay. The heartbreak of Qiu not saying it.
Qiu finally, finally saying I love you, for it to feel like the most gut wrenching goodbye.
The steamy scene, it being the first time Qiu stay... and the last they see each other.
Also the fact that MC can be the secret from Qiu's mother/family, can hate that, but they can do the excat same with Nat.
I've only done the Queer Lovers version with Qiu so far, so the incident hit so hard!
How Qiu's mother spits such hurtful things to MC and Qiu not saying anything to defend MC most hurt sm! But I also understand Qiu fear and their own hurt.
The reunion!!! Qiu confessing that what they truly want was MC.
The kiss, you bet your ass I leaped into that option, how conflicted MC can feel, how the danger of heartbreak is at the back of their mind but they still leap into it, ignoring their head for their beating and bleeding heart.
It gets extra painful if you play a MC who loves Qiu and New York, so much emotional conflict, when Qiu once had the chance to ask MC to stay, when MC wanted Qiu to tell them to stay, when they would totally have stayed for them, especially for them. Only for Qiu to not do that, and for MC to fall inlove with NY.
I think of them alot.
I'll spare you my headcanon and scenarios for now.
Also I got the tumblr notification as I was typing this.
Oh my god-- "also the fact that MC can be the secret from Qiu's family, and they can hate that, and do the exact same with Nat" 😢😢 that's so well put. Cycles of trauma.
And--like you said, the years in between, when Qiu was yearning for MC and MC learns to love someone new/leave SG and their past behind.
The story of Qiu and MC is a story of missed opportunities and mismatched timing, and being too afraid to ask for the things you want most in the world.
Thanks so much for the thoughtful message and I am so glad you found memorable moments in the writing.

Lena walks into the Tower, her thoughts still with the book she left locked in the safe of her home office. All heads turn to face her, and her eyes go straight to Kara, whose shoulders sag slightly at the sight of her.
"Lena..."
Kara envelops her in a hug. Lena squeezes her back, unable to keep the smile from tugging at her lips. "I came as soon as I saw the news," she says quickly. "Is everyone okay?"
"Yeah," Kara murmurs.  "But let's just say it's been a crazy couple of weeks."
Nia greets her as well, but Alex is withdrawn, and when Lena eventually follows Kara out onto the balcony, she presses a little harder.
"Everyone seems... quiet. Is everything really okay? Tell me the truth."
Kara sighs. "A lot has happened since you've been gone. And today Kelly reminded us that we'd lost sight of something important."
"Oh." Come to think of it, Kelly was the only one not at the Tower. "Where is Kelly?"
"At home?" Kara guesses with a shrug. A moment passes, as Kara gazes thoughtfully at the skyline. "Maybe... you should go see her."
"Me?" Lena doesn't dislike Kelly, but they aren't the closest. "Why me?"
"I get the feeling she isn't ready to see the rest of us yet. And I think..."
"Think what?"
"You two might be able to find some common ground."
Lena scoffs. "No offense, Kara, but me dating her brother doesn't mean I know what she's going through."
"No," Kara agrees. "But-- once upon a time, you took over your family's company. Reclaiming the Luthor legacy as your own, as a force for good..."
Brow furrowing, Lena frowns. "I don't follow..."
Kara smiles. "It was a thankless, insurmountable task... and you took it on anyway."
----
And so Lena finds herself knocking on Kelly's door. She hears a rustle on the far side, and then a pause as Kelly looks through the peephole. When the door opens, Lena offers a smile.
"Lena, hi! You're back!"
"I am," Lena affirms. She steps inside when Kelly opens the door wider.
"How was your trip?"
Lena pauses, searching for the right words. "Enlightening," she settles on. "But I hear things have gotten exciting since I left."
Closing the door, Kelly's features settle in a grim line. "So, they sent you, huh?"
"Neutral party?" Lena means it as a joke, but it falls flat. She sighs, letting her shoulders relax. "Kara told me a little about what happened."
"So you're the Kelly whisperer now?"
Kelly's gaze cuts through the air, sharp as a razor. Lena can only shake her head. "No. I won't pretend to know what you've lived through. James-- James shared some of his experience with me, and I can't even imagine what it must be like. But..."
Kelly's entire body tenses, waiting for the other shoe to fall. Lena takes a moment to gather herself, to choose the right words before she made an already tenuous situation worse.
"I can't deny my privilege, and I have no intention of doing so. We come from two very different backgrounds. But I've been on the outside of Kara's decisions before...  decisions that made me wonder if they even saw me at all."
Kelly doesn't snap, but she doesn't soften, either. Lena continues.
"I can only imagine that they've already offered all the support you can probably stand by now," she smiles, "but I want you to know that you have me too. You know... if you ever need someone a little less super."
Finally Kelly relents, just a little. "Thank you. I appreciate that."
Lena nods. Quiet stretches between them, until Lena sense she's overstayed her welcome. "I should get going," she says.
Kelly opens the door for her, not protesting her departure. It's the least congenial Lena's ever seen her, and Lena wonders if maybe she's seeing a new layer of Kelly. She wonders if this makes them closer, or more distant than before.
On her way out, Kelly catches one of Lena's wrists. "Thank you," she says. "Really."
Lena nods. She gives Kelly's hand a squeeze, then moves to pull away, only to turn back at the last moment.
"You know, Kara reminded me of something tonight," she blurts. Her cheeks heat with a slight flush when Kelly's brow arches. "Once upon a time, I wanted to do good."
An idea starts forming in her mind, miniscule at first, but quickly snowballing as her thoughts connected into a cohesive, executable plan. She could do it.
She would.
"I think I'm going to start a charity foundation," Lena continues, her lips pulling into a smile. "Maybe at some point I could get this new Guardian's input on where we could be the most help."
This time, Kelly rewards her with a warm smile.
"Oh, I'm sure she's got some ideas."

Supergirl 6x1: Rebirth
After last season’s very off balance second half, did this episode help fix Supergirl’s problems or make them worse? SPOLIERS AHEAD.
Quite frankly, I really enjoyed this episode! I think that it drew my interest enough that I’m willing to think that if s5 ended on this episode, I would have been looking forward to SG’s return rather than sitting in cold dread like I did for most of the off season, haha.
There were some really strong moments in the episode. Stand out moments are J’onn and M’gann in space destroying Lex’s satellites, the team fighting Lex, and the Phantom Zone looked really good. Character moments between Andrea and Kelly, and Lena and Brainy were stand outs from the episode. It was nice the writers actually remembered that Kelly and Andrea are friends.
I think this worked better as a premier episode better than Flash’s just because of where the show left off. It was obvious that it was a season finale to me, but it still worked, much like Batwoman’s premier episode.
Some of the lines were super corny this episode, like “Dreamer, what did you dream?” and “you can’t kill technology, but technology can kill you!” had me snorting from how bad they sounded.
The Kara and Lena moments were good this episode, as they are the best pair aside Kara and Alex. A really sweet interaction was Lena saying “you trust me even after everything?” and Kara responds with “you want to help people. Whatever else has happened...I know what’s in your heart.” Another moment I thought was an interesting choice was Lena was the last person Kara said goodbye to. Not Alex, but Lena.
Supercorp has another Dansen parallel this episode, interesting.
Very excited for Alex to tell Kelly everything and they team up. Sentinel and Guardian is something I’m very hopeful for. It never worked for James in the way it should have, because the writers made it about James feeling insecure about being weaker than Kara and it was just not great. Based on what Kelly has done so far, she’s going to do it because if Alex is going to be doing something dangerous, she’s not going to let her do it alone.
Lex definitely had a little bit too much screen time, as usual. I think the dancing to We Are the Champions was funny, but probably didn’t need to be that long.
I didn’t want to mention him, but Nia telling Willy that Kara was gone cracked me up. He was like “oh she didn’t say anything to ME” and Nia was basically like :I. Too funny. And Andrea was just like “Kara’s gone? She better have good stuff when she gets back lol” such a good boss.
One last thing, they goofed how long Kara was in the Phantom Zone. She was in there for 24 years, give or take. Not just under a decade like Kara said. Come one writers, at least double check!
See you all next week!

I can’t do this anymore
Prompt number: 19
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Rating: G
Warnings: None I guess spoliers for season 8?
A little scene in Threads for you. The part in bold is directly from the episode., so no copyright infringement intended.
“Hey,” Pete said as he approached her.Sam was standing in front of the little lawn bench of the house he had picked out. She hadn’t been waiting long for him before he arrived.“Hi Pete.” She greeted him. As Pete reached her, she turned her face, so his kiss landed on her cheek. She took a half step back. “I think we should sit.” She told him as she sat down.“You’re making me nervous--” He told her and gave a little laugh, trying to make a joke out of the unresolved tension. “I think I know what this is,” he said, sitting and reaching for her hand.“You do?” Sam asked him, pulling her hands away.“You hate the house.” He said, jumping in. Nervously, he added in a rush, “It was too much, wasn’t it? I just -- it was so perfect; it has everything you said you wanted--”“It was everything I said I wanted--” She said, quickly. Before Pete could respond, she tried to assure him of that. “But it’s not the house, Pete.” “What then?” he asked her, concerned. “Did your dad not like me?” He tried to make a joke of the meeting, but did not seem to notice Sam’s body cringe and tense up. “I don’t always make a good impression. Did he take what I said about the – umm -- you know what -- too much to heart? It’s just hard to put together in my head that your dad is an alien!” he said, his voice lowering to a whisper which she was thankful for. She tried to explain for the umpteenth time. “Not an alien, a host, to a symbiotic life form--”“Which is pretty much a damn alien!” He chuckled nervously. “What did the alien not like me? Is that a problem? How do they--”“Pete!” She snapped. She took a few deep breaths before she started to speak. Pete seem to understand that he needed to wait for Sam to continue. Her voice was quiet but steady when she said, “Dad died.” “He -- what? I just met him yesterday!”“Dad was sick and Selmak couldn’t repair the damage.”“Sam, I’m so sorry.” Pete’s arms reached out to hold her, hoping to comfort her.“Pete, please don’t--” She said, shrugging his hands off her as she moved further away on the bench, without falling off. “That--that’s not what this is about.” she told him.“Oh?” He asked, slightly uncertain of what was happening.“I can’t do this anymore.” She whispered but as usual he only heard what he wanted to hear.“Well, of course, you can't, baby--” he claimed. He didn’t seem to see Sam wince at the endearment. “I’m so glad you said it because as awesome as it is to have a superhero for a girlfriend, it’s all a bit much!” he exclaimed. “You can resign from the Air Force. Mark said you joined only to make your Dad happy but now you can leave, and we can get married. It will be great. I can take care of you and you won’t have to worry about anything. That is, until the kids arrive and then…”“No, Pete.” she said, shaking her head. She should have known he would misunderstand what she said because he never really knew her at all. “Not that this--” she told him “this--” she continued, pointing back and forth between them. “This, this.”Her meaning dawned on his face as he asked quietly, “What do you mean?”“Pete, I care about you. A lot.” She admitted but continued before he could interrupt “Please don’t think I never thought I was in love with you.”“Thought?” He questioned.“That came out wrong.” she said, shaking her head, “Pete, please just let me finish.” She asked of him. He nodded and she knew he would remain quiet until she was finished. “I’ve – um --I’ve always had a hard time, expressing myself and sharing myself with another person. “I know it’s because of what happened with Jonas and you’ve been so incredibly patient in trying to get to know me. You know, and I know you know my love life has always been--” she shook her head and shrugged as she tried to find the right word “messy.” She took a breath. “I told you on our first date that I found all of this difficult. Any relationship would come second to my work--” She reminded him. She knew in her own heart that if it were Jack, he’d come first. Maybe that was part of the problem. Her ‘General’ was part of the job and it was always going to look like he came first. “I care about you a lot, Pete, and there might even be enough there to patch together something you could label with ‘love,’” she admitted “But I’m not --” she said, shaking her head. “I’m not in love with you.” She finally confessed. “And I hate myself that it’s taken this long to admit.” She told him then looked up “But this -- I can’t do this anymore, because it's not what I want, and I’m sorry.” He paused as if he were thinking deeply about what she had said then admitted. “I knew from the beginning. Guess I just thought when you said yes that… that you were worth the risk. Don't say I deserve better. Can't get much better than you.”

I wonder if there's a reason the show chose do this week's episode while Lena was gone. I know, I know, bold of me to assume there was that much planning involved. But I wonder if Lena would have been more or less receptive to Kelly's concerns than the others had been.
I don't think it would have derailed anything to have Lena there. If anything, she'd be more or less removed from the situation-- she'd be more in the Tower than on the ground, so she might not have even witnessed Kelly's pleas for help until Kelly snaps.
Would Kelly have thought to call Lena directly for help? Lena likely has contacts in the medical community, if the Luthor Hospital is still a thing after the Crisis reset. But is their relationship familiar enough that Kelly would know that, or feel comfortable enough to call in a favor?
Would Lena have been as fixated on Nyxly as the others? Or would she have sensed Kelly's distress and sought to help before the others did? Would she have been peer pressured into focusing on Nyxy, and just gone along with the rest of the superfriends because she's scared of being cast out if she dissents? I wonder if Lena was in Tower the whole time, and only saw Kelly snap, would she have been an innocent enough party that she'd be the person to go talk to Kelly as she cooled down?
Lena knows what James shared with her, about his own experiences growing up black, so maybe she knows how carefully she needs to tread. Maybe she knows there isn't anything she can say to make it right, but I imagine maybe she'd simply offer Kelly a hug.
I hesitate to post this, because as I write this I realize it sounds like I want my white fave to be unproblematic, which is not my intention at all-- I am keenly aware that Lena has all the privilege in the world, which means Lena very well could have been lumped into being part of the problem.
But I still wonder if the writers would have explored the nuance of the alien/human dynamic as well. If they had, Lena-- who has repeatedly demonstrated her concern for the people of National City and is still in a mindset of making up for her mistakes, which would make her sensitive to the plights of others-- might have fallen onto Kelly's side of the line, even with their life experiences being so different.
On the other hand, if they had tried to explore that aspect of things regarding Lena, it might have detracted from the impact of Kelly's story. So ultimately it's probably a good thing that Lena wasn't there.

tbh i'm glad this past isn't kara's real past because like you said, the past we knew is what makes kara who she is so as much as i'm glad kenny is alive, it would have sucked if our kara had lived this life instead of the one we know, it would have changed everything since her relationship with alex to her relationship with herself and her powers
all this wibbly wobbly versy wersy shit is making my head ache. like, clearly it didn’t change kara and alex’s relationship, because we still have alex and kara being great sisters. but imagine if the universes melded and then kara and alex were suddenly faced with a world where they weren’t on good terms. like “oh, kara, I never knew you had a sister!” or “sister night? since when? i thought you hated your sister?” like... just imagine...
