We noticed your vibe from across the bar. My husband isn't really comfortable with threesomes, but I'm sure we can figure something out for you, y/n.

That tomshiv fight made me SICK!
The way they threw all these big insults at each other but when he said something truly cruel she only replied with "that's not a very nice thing to say" bc this is her fear, something her mother said being repeated in her husband, her partner's voice. It also mirrors Roman's fear when he wouldn’t accept Logan's death and said the exact same phrase to her. The most painful comeback being the most childish one is a great fucking theme to have. (re: Little Women's: "You're being mean")
What's worse is that every single thing they said to each other is, in fact, true. No one fucking "won" like I see in so many takes, that's the whole point. They are awful people who loved each other but loved themselves more and that's the core of it. Tom WAS projecting and Shiv DID fuck him over. He IS a climbing snake and she WOULD do anything to protect herself. He never knew she protected him too. She never knew how desperate he was to give her a last moment with her father.

"i wonder what Shiv is gonna be like with Tom now that she's keeping the baby and staying with him, despite him having what she believes should be hers" I have a cool show you should watch called The Great, created by Oscar-winning Australian playwright Tony Mcnamara who also wrote The Favourite <3

the haunting image of shiv, the girl who wanted her daddy’s love so desperately & who married a man she thought was beneath her to have some sense of control and power, to end the show by giving up her family and power to vote for Tom…in the end ceding to the new patriarchal dominance (tom, matsson, mencken) is so fucked up (and brilliant, tragic screenwriting). the cycle never ends!!!
