I’m rubbing the still-smouldering half-demolished corner of my shoe against the metal ribbing of the floor when the door swings open.  Baz is pale, and Simon is stock still on the bed behind him.  Baz steps out and closes the door. He slashes his hand between us and mutters a spell that makes everything go a little staticky around us. His hair floats up around his head and hits some kind of barrier before it reaches its furthest extension.  “What was that?” Penny asks.  “Privacy ward,” Baz says, and looks around. The halls are never really empty in this sardine-tin of a school, but no one seems to be trying to catch a glimpse of what we’re doing.

Alright! Now that One More Little Adventure is up and running, here is an excerpt from another fic you can expect to see this month: Ghost of a Chance!

“An iced mocha with an extra expresso shot.”

Bilbo whipped around to see none other than the man who started this all standing there ordering a coffee. Bilbo silently bemoaned his fate as his eyes went straight to Thorin’s ass in those well fitted pants. Just one thing! Bilbo just needed one thing to not think of Thorin as attractive anymore, but no, even the raven tattoo poking out of the back of his shirt was delicious. Finished with his transaction, Thorin started to turn, and Bilbo quickly averted his gaze to the outside window. 

He heard Thorin pause, and he silently pleaded with the man to move on. Luck seemed to not be on his side. He pinched his eyes shut tight as he heard Thorin walk over, clearing his throat. He was going to make Bilbo play this game wasn’t he? Bilbo slowly turned before adopting a fake smile.

“Good morning!” He greeted, far too enthusiastically earning several eyes on him.

“Good morning.” Thorin mumbled, ducking his head with a small smile.

Bilbo hated him. Why was that still adorable? He’s in his late thirties. Men in their late thirties weren’t allowed to be adorable.

“Do you mind if I…?” Thorin asked, indicating the seat across from him.

The flat look on Bilbo’s face must have been answer enough, because Thorin quickly aborted the motion.
