Stickprice Week 2023 Day 5: Star-gazing

A/N: I know I'm late, but I had to.

Henry looked up at the stars while sitting on a hill with grass.

The night sky was beautiful, and the moon was shining bright. Henry felt a slight breeze as he sat on the hill, he shivered and closed his army jacket. It was a little cold but that is to be expected since fall is coming, and it's getting chilly.

Henry saw the stars twinkling and shining bright like a diamond. His eyes were filled with wonderment as he imagined the stars as gems and jewels. He started getting excited about the treasures he imagined and wanted them so badly. However, his fantasy was shattered by reality setting in. He knew that he couldn't have that.

Henry sighed as he heard footsteps coming toward him.

Henry smiled as Rupert sat down next to him, Rupert brought out a lighter and cigarette. He lit up the cigarette and blew out a puff of smoke. Henry leaned his head on Rupert's shoulder as Rupert kept smoking and enjoying the night.

"How come you were late?" Henry asked quietly.

"I was dealing with the Bukowski twins," Rupert responded, "They were being annoying as usual,"

Henry laughed, "What were they bugging you about now?"

"Pranks as usual,"

"Of course,"

"One of these days they are going to run out of ideas," Henry said as he snuggled against Rupert.

"Yup and I can't wait for the day when they're crying and sobbing," Rupert responded with laughter.

Rupert looked up at the sky and noticed the stars shining like diamonds. Henry followed suit and he smiled, the stars were giving them a fabulous show. Henry's eyes sparkled as the stars kept twinkling and shining, his mouth was open in awe and Rupert noticed this.

"He looks so cute!" Rupert thought with a smile.

Henry looked over at Rupert who was smiling, Henry blinked in confusion.

"What?" Henry asked.

Rupert blinked as his face reddened, he was caught staring at Henry like an idiot. He looked away from Henry as he hid his face with his hat. "Nothing," he muttered.

Henry chuckled as he hugged Rupert, Rupert grumbled but returned the hug. Henry smiled as he felt Rupert's body heat seep into him. One of the things he loved about Rupert was his body heat and his face when flustered. They stopped hugging and resumed watching the stars.

"I heard we're getting two recruits tomorrow," Henry said after silence.

"Ya," Rupert replied absently.

"Since you're a captain, do you know their names?"

"I do actually,"

Henry blinked at him as he looked up at Rupert, "Really?" he asked.

Rupert nodded as he finished his cigarette and put it out with his boot. He turned to Henry, "Their names are Sniper and Medic,"

Henry stared at Rupert and Rupert stared at him back.

"Sniper and Medic?" Henry said in disbelief, "Those are their names?"

"That's what I said after the General told me their names," Rupert replied.

"Are those their real names or nicknames?" Henry questioned.

Henry felt 'Sniper' and 'Medic' were pretty bad names for a child. If the names are their real names then they just had a bad childhood.

"No. That's their nicknames," Rupert answered, "They have real names but they prefer to use nicknames,"

"Why?"

"I don't know,"

They fell silent again.

They kept staring up at the night sky until they went back to their tents to sleep.

A couple of nights later, Henry was lying down on his bed in his tent when he heard a buzzing noise coming from his phone. Henry sat up and picked up his phone. He smiled as he opened his phone. It was a text message from Rupert.

He got up and put on his coat.

He walked into the woods to find Rupert and after a few minutes of walking, he found Rupert sitting near a lake. Henry quietly went over to him and sat down next to the peaceful captain.

Rupert was looking out at the lake when he heard Henry sitting down next to him. He looked to his side to find Henry smiling at him, Rupert felt his heart flutter when he saw that smile he came to love so much.

"More star-gazing?" Henry asked.

Rupert nodded.

"But why here?"

"Look at the lake,"

Henry did as he was told, he stared out at the lake. At first, he didn't find anything special about the lake until he saw the reflection of the night sky and moon. The lake was giving a beautiful performance of the night sky and the moon. Henry could see the stars' reflection in the river and just like a couple of nights ago, the stars were shining like diamonds.

Rupert wrapped his arms around Henry while he was distracted by the stars, Rupert stared at Henry's awe face as he saw Henry's eyes were reflecting the stars. It was beautiful.

The couple spent the rest of the night admiring the stars.

A/N: It's been 84 years since I wrote something... I'm sorry for the hiatus. College has been draining me and being busy with irl. Also, I know this is super late but who cares.

Btw, Sniper and Medic are ocs I created a while ago. I will go into detail about them later.

5 Things I Dislike About the Henry Stickmin Fandom

5. Some Ships

It's a Fandom, there's going to be ships no matter what. So there's a lot of good examples of good ships in THSC, such as Rosevin, Rosemin, Stickvin, Panprice, Curtisson, and Copperight, and then there are bad ships like Pantis and Dr. Rose. So I'm going to be honest, the fandom did Ellie so bad, she was the target to many disgusting people and the things the Fandom did to her are beyond questionable, and probably the worst she's gotten were the ships, specifically the lesbian ships. No offense to those who think Ellie is in a lesbian relationship, but in all honesty, all the Lesbian ships with Ellie were attempts. The biggest one being Dr. Rose (Dr. V x Ellie), so the problem with this ship is that Dr. V is without a doubt older than Ellie, and Ellie we know has to be canonically in her 20s still, and considering how these two never actually met in the game makes no sense. Ellie is also often shipped with Carol Cross, and this makes no sense too. Another ship that makes no sense is Pantis, this ship was done terrible. The ship is Burt x Dave, and this ship often destroys Dave's character by making him a Toppat. This ship portrays Dave like he's the princess locked up in the Tower and he must fall in love with whoever frees him. And this is as worse as Burt is apart of the people who locked him up. The worst one in my opinion is Stickprice, mainly due to how it's executed. It's meant to be an Enemy to Lover ship, but Rupert and Henry are a terrible example! These two make it clear from the start that they hate each other and the game makes it clear these two are basically rivals of some sort as Rupert is constantly popping up where Henry is for most of the time! This ship is done terrible. The reason this is in 5 because you really can't stop someone from shipping something.

4. Not Following the Canon

So there's a lot of times when THSC artists don't follow what's canon and what's not. The only one that's really fine is the Jacob and Ellie are related, this was proven to be not true as they just conveniently had the same surname. Many people still consider them as siblings though, which is fine because people use this in the form of a Headcanon. However there are times when you can't make headcanons, especially when it's proven in the game, but mainly when it comes to ages, canon ships, and sexuality. Many people headcanon that Rupert during the game is in his 30s, however he is confirmed to be 26 years old. Henry is canonically 28 in the game. Many people believe Ellie and Henry are a thing in the game, however they're confirmed not as a couple or in a relationship at all, as none of the ships are actually canon in the game, so this leads to many people having the opportunity to headcanon ships like Stickvin, there are only two confirmed relationships in the game, that being Wilson Stone and his wife, and Gordon Smith and his wife who went into labor during ItA. The game has a lot of LGBTQ ships in it, and it turns out there are actually 2 confirmed LGBTQ characters, Sam Turner and Ellie and Henry in their fusion form, Ellry, are confirmed to be Non-binary, meaning they go by They/Them pronouns, however many people disagree with this and refers to them by their gender, which is considered misgendering, however this isn't always the case as many people don't really know they're canonically Non-binary.

3. Characters with Different Personalities

This is another one that pisses me off a lot. Many people like to completely ruin the personalities of some characters who actually show them in the game. The character who often falls victim to this a lot is Charles, as many people dislike his optimistic behavior in the games, and went as far as to changing his personality to more of an asshole or just nothing his personality. This one is based on the Fandom and was actually something that was said by @lexi-the-demon-child on their recent stream, they completely dislike how Dave is often the bottom in Panprice. I know this doesn't really fit in this category but there is a point in here, they also dislike how the fandom portrays Rupert in the relationship. The fandom portrays Rupert very dumb around Dave, while in the game he just treats Dave like a normal person than how the Fandom portrays them. There was also a time when many people in the fandom portrayed Burt Curtis as an emo su1c1d4l depressed person who wanted to die, however, this isn't the case in the game. Burt appears very bored and fed up with the people giving him orders rather than wanting to take his life.

2. Making Pure Characters Become Toppats

This is beyond stupid. There have been many times when people turned Charles into a member of the Toppat Clan, the people he is against in the game, along with Dave Panpa and Rupert Price. The Fandom does this a lot for Stickvin and Pantis. Pantis often results into Dave joining the Toppat Clan only really because he likes Burt and wants to be more close to him, where are Stickvin, whether it's Henry or Charles as the Toppat, is beyond disgusting. Charles is often r4p3d or covered in bite marks by Toppat Henry, who the fandom portrays very lustfully, while Toppat Charles is just often insane and wants Henry. There was only one person who really did this concept right, being Browa123's Triple Threat Toppats AU, as Henry doesn't appear to have any of the qualities the fandom gives him. Stickvin isn't actually shown in the first act, however the creator is confirmed to be shipping them in a healthy way unlike the fandom does, so this shows they actually did a good job at portraying it compared to others. The reason the fandom turns Rupert into a Toppat is unknown, especially because he's a government soldier who is against them and seen fighting them a few times. Charles' reason to be a Toppat is always stupid though, usually mostly because he's in a position he can't do anything and there's someone who loves him (this being usually Henry or Ellie) willing to let them free if they join them, and Charles is often simping for them. I don't really like Toppat Charles in general, it destroys his purpose of being in the government, while Browa123 did this in a good way, especially since Charles learned how messed up the side he was on in that AU.

Making the AU All About the Different Timeline Henrys

This one is the most dumbest one of them all, and destroys the purposes of the other characters in THSC. And I'm not talking about AUs that have characters from different endings or AUs meet each other, that's completely fine and actually nice to see. What I'm talking about is when people make the Henrys from the Different Endings in CtM meet each other and the artists completely ignore the existence of the other characters. They even go as far as to shipping the Henrys with each other. I absolutely hate this one because there are other characters in this and you completely make them all about Henry meeting his different ending counterparts is just stupid. I've seen this many times and it's gotten stupid that I really question if the artists have actually seen gameplay of THSC. Like there is really no reason to make stuff like... Toppat Recruits Henry x Triple Threat Henry. It's okay if all of the different Henry's just meet each other and then other characters get to see their different counterparts is even better since this doesn't make it feel like the only living thing in existence is just..Henry. Like at least include Charles and Ellie meeting their alternative counterparts, hell it makes sense to why Triple Threat Henry is called "TrIpLe ThReAt HeNry"

A New Light (Rupert and Henry and eventual StickPrice)

A/N: Since some of you guys were upset at my last one-shot which I don't blame you for, I decided to make it up by making this oneshot.

Rupert watched Charles and Henry joke around as he leaned against a weapon storage unit.

Rupert kept watching them until he got bored, he sighed and went to his tent. Once inside his tent, he took his boots off and lay down on his bed.

Lately, he's been thinking about his relationship with Henry.

Before, he would scowl at Henry or just glare at Henry because he used to have a grudge against him. However, after getting evidence to take down the Toppat clan and save one of Rupert's old co-workers, Rupert started to let go of his grudge toward Henry. But Rupert wouldn't call them friends or anything... just mutuals.

Rupert saw Henry waving goodbye to Charles and saw Henry heading toward his apartment. Rupert stopped watching Henry and went to his tent. Rupert sat down on his bed as he thought more about his feelings for Henry, he doesn't know why he was questioning them, and why does he care?

Rupert took off his boots and lay down on his bed. He then fell asleep.

Rupert and Charles came out of the General's tent when they saw Henry walking past them with a tote bag and holding a small piece of paper in his hand.

"Hi, Hen!" Charles said happily as he waved, "What are you doing?"

Henry stopped and turned around to face Charles, "Oh, I'm going to the store," he replied.

Rupert raised an eyebrow as Charles asked, "For what?"

"For ingredients,"

"Ingredients for what?" Rupert asked, joining the conversation.

Henry smiled and Rupert doesn't know if it was for him or it was about the conversation.

"To make cupcakes," Henry responded.

Charles and Rupert stared at Henry in confusion. Baking? Henry's making cupcakes?

"You can bake?" Rupert asked.

Henry nodded, "Yes, but I don't have a lot of time for baking since I joined the Government."

Rupert

"That's good. Be careful and don't get kidnapped," Charles joked.

Henry chuckled, "I'll try, bye Charles, bye Rupert,"

Henry resume walking, Rupert stared after him, and Charles noticed it. Charles bumped his shoulder and Rupert glared at him.

"What?" he whispered to Charles.

"Go with him," Charles said quietly.

"What?"

"Go with him,"

Rupert was dumbfounded. Why did Charles want him to go with Henry?

Before Rupert could ask why, Charles went up to Henry. "Hey, Henry," Henry glanced at Charles, "Rupert wants to go with you to the store,"

Henry blinked and glanced over his shoulder to see Rupert glaring at Charles. Henry looked back at Charles with concern, "Are you sure? He looks...angry,"

Charles laughed as he wrapped a shoulder around him, "Relax, he always looks grumpy," Rupert made a sound like he was offended by Charles's comment.

Charles glanced over at Rupert who was now wearing a scowl, he stared at Rupert like he was waiting for an answer. Charles began using sign language to try to convince Rupert to go with Henry.

"C'mon, just go with him," Charles said.

Rupert shook his head, "No," he replied.

"Please?"

"No,"

"Pretty please?"

"Why do want me to go with him? I'm not his friend," Rupert questioned, eyes narrowed at Charles.

Charles sighed while Henry was looking through his list to make sure he didn't forget to put anything, Charles let go of Henry and looked at Rupert.

"Because this will be the chance for you and Henry to bond," Charles responded happily, his expression turned from happy to serious, "And I'm afraid someone will kidnap him."

Rupert snorted as a happy thought played into his mind, he wouldn't mind Henry getting kidnapped. Henry's been kidnapped so many times, people have called him a princess. Don't call Henry a princess though, he hates it. But Rupert sometimes calls him a princess. Charles noticed the smile on Rupert's face and he frowned. Charles picked up a rock and threw it at Rupert.

SMACK!

Rupert was snapped out of his daydream when he felt pain, and he cried out in pain. He rubbed his head where the sore spot was as he glanced at Charles who was smirking, he blinked and looked down to see a rock on the ground. He immediately glared at Charles while Charles was still smirking at him. Charles was one of the only few people to hit Rupert and get away with it. Henry glanced at Charles when he heard Rupert's cry of pain and he stared at Rupert.

He saw Rupert was rubbing his head and he furrowed his brow in confusion.

Charles then gestured for Rupert to go with him, annoyed that Rupert is not budging. Rupert stared between Charles and Henry then he groaned.

"Henry... can I come with you?" he muttered, face red.

Henry blinked, then smiled slightly, "Sure, Thorn," he said.

Henry started walking and Rupert quickly went up to him to follow him. Before they left, Rupert gave Charles the middle finger which Charles stuck out his tongue.

Rupert was watching Henry pick out ingredients while he was keeping an eye on him.

Rupert stood next to him while Henry decided which icing he should use. Henry was holding a blue icing pack and a red icing pack. Henry was looking between them, overthinking in the process. Rupert was watching Henry overthink what icing he should buy, Rupert saw Henry was stressing himself out, and he sighed. Rupert went up to him, chose the blue icing, and put it in Henry's basket.

Henry blinked in confusion as he looked at Rupert.

"Uh, thanks?" Henry said.

Henry was about to leave the baking aisle when Rupert made a sound that sounded like he was offended. "That is so gross," Rupert said in disgust.

Henry arched an eyebrow as he turned around to face Rupert and was about to retort when Rupert approached him with a sprinkler container. "How can you have cupcakes without sprinkles?" he continued.

Henry stared at him like he had lost his mind, Rupert was smirking at him. They both stared at each other for a moment, the scene was awkward to say at least.

A couple of seconds later, Rupert cleared his throat and Henry shook his head.

"Uh... I like sprinkles," Rupert muttered.

Henry nodded as he went to the cash register and Rupert followed.

On the way back, they kept quiet.

They don't have much to talk about; if they did, they didn't know where to start. Henry was looking at his phone with a smile on his face while Rupert was brooding. Why? He doesn't know, it's just his default personality trait. He also has the reputation for being the most grumpy and prickly soldier in the Government, next to Quentin of course.

Rupert glanced at Henry who was still smiling, Rupert blinked at him, and let himself rethink his feelings about Henry. Before, he used to despise Henry with passion and the feeling was mutual but now... he doesn't know what to say about Henry.

They got to the base and Henry said bye to Rupert but he wasn't listening. Rupert nodded at him while he was still thinking, Henry went to go meet with Charles to tell him he bought the ingredients. Rupert snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Charles if he can have a cupcake when he is done baking and he heard Henry saying yes. Without thinking, he went up to Henry and Charles.

Rupert saw Henry smiling brightly while Charles was excited about the cupcakes, Rupert kept watching Henry, and for a reason, he felt warm upon seeing Henry's smile.

"Hey, Rupert, why don't you go with Henry and help him?" Charles asked, he was still determined to help Rupert and Henry bond.

Rupert's face went red as Henry turned to look at him, Rupert silently cursed at Charles. Henry signed Rupert that he would love some help and he gestured for Rupert to follow him.

Rupert watched Henry pour the batter into the cupcake tray and put it in the oven. Henry set the timer and went to the counter where Rupert was standing, Henry got out a bowl and started making the icing. Rupert kept watching him make the icing, they both were silent saved for the noises in the kitchen. Henry finished making the icing and he got a spoon to taste it. He got out a second spoon for Rupert, he turned to Rupert and held out the spoon to him.

Rupert saw this, "You want me to taste the icing?" he asked.

Henry nodded, he finished licking the icing on his spoon as Rupert got the spoon and tasted the icing. The icing tasted good. Rupert was enjoying the icing when he heard the oven ding, Rupert went over to the oven as Henry put on his oven mitts. Henry opened the oven and took out the cupcake tray. Henry set down the tray and set a timer to let the cupcakes cool down before they decorated them.

"So how's the icing?" Henry asked as Rupert finished eating the icing on the spoon, Rupert set down the spoon in the sink. He glanced at Henry who was eagerly waiting for his answer, he also saw Henry was smiling. Rupert noticed Henry was smiling a lot around him, he blinked as he looked away from him.

"It's...okay," he replied, face red.

Henry beamed as the timer set off. Henry stopped the timer and went to the bowl with the icing. Rupert glanced over at Henry as he smelled the cupcakes, Henry got the sprinkles which made Rupert very happy. "Want to help me decorate the cupcakes?" Henry asked with a smirk.

Rupert blinked then he smiled, "Sure,"

Rupert helped Henry decorate the cupcakes and there were a few mishaps along the way. Being the brat he is, threw some icing over at Rupert while he wasn't looking, and Rupert retaliate by throwing some icing back. Luckily, they didn't waste all the icing and they managed to finish decorating the cupcakes and Rupert put the sprinkles on the cupcakes.

After the cupcakes were done, Rupert and Henry saw 12 cupcakes with blue icing and light blue sprinkles. Rupert and Henry stared at them in awe like there were little kids. The cupcakes looked too good to eat but they were getting hungry and Rupert has been craving something sweet.

Henry glanced at Rupert who was beginning to drool which seems out of character for him, he glanced between the cupcakes and Rupert.

"I better give him one before he becomes hangry," Henry thought, Rupert already has anger issues, however, when Rupert is hangry it's not pretty.

After all, Rupert did help him with the cupcakes and he suggested sprinkles for the cupcakes so yeah... Henry should feed the porcupine.

Henry carefully got one cupcake out and gave it to Rupert who shook his head as he wiped the drool off his face. Rupert stared at the cupcake on Henry's hand, he hesitantly reached out his hand to grab it. He wasn't sure if he should take it, "Take it," Henry said happily, "You've helped me with decorating them and suggesting putting sprinkles on them."

Rupert smiled as he took the cupcake and looked at it. He stared at it for a second then he took a bite. He made a mmm sound and continued eating it, Henry heard this as he got a second cupcake for him. Henry ate the cupcake and the cupcake was delicious. Both men finished eating their cupcakes and they were very happy.

"Wow, that was good," Rupert said.

"I love cupcakes," Henry responded.

Henry put the remaining cupcakes away as Rupert went to the living room, Henry put the cupcakes in the refrigerator and joined Rupert. Rupert was on his phone, checking the time, and saw it was dinner time. He blew out a puff and sighed. Henry raised an eyebrow at him in confusion then his stomach growled, oh right, dinner time.

"C'mon, let's go eat," Henry said as he went to his door and Rupert followed, "Even though we already eaten dessert."

Rupert chuckled as he closed the door behind them and they both left to go to the dining hall.

Rupert's and Henry's dynamic changed after that day, it wasn't bad or anything. It just changed.

Rupert and Henry started getting closer and getting along with each other. Before, they will avoid each other like the plague but now, they are almost seen together. Rupert was the loner type and likes to be alone. Henry is quiet and doesn't like people. So they don't mind each other's company. They mostly just sit in silence or just look out at the scenery at the clearing they're usually at. Sometimes, they will get into deep conversations about random things like their favorite color, things they like to do, hobbies, etc.

However, not only their dynamic has changed, their feelings for each other have changed as well.

Every time they're near each other, they feel some sort of warm, fuzzy feeling. When they talk to each other, their faces are red, and avoid looking at each other. The two idiots don't know that they have a crush on each other.

Henry went to the meeting room for a meeting and saw Rupert was already inside. He sighed as his face went warm, he sat down next to him and waited for everyone else. The meeting was tense for Rupert and Henry. Rupert wanted to talk to Henry but they were in a meeting and he didn't want to interrupt the General, he saw Henry wasn't looking at him. After a while, Rupert needed to talk to Henry... now.

"Uh, General?" Rupert said anxiously as he stood up, getting the General's attention, "I have to step out for a moment, please?"

Henry saw Rupert lightly tapping his boot but it wasn't an ordinary tapping, Henry could see that he was communicating in Morse code. Rupert taught him Morse code and he paid attention to what Rupert is saying

".. / -. . . -.. / - --- / - .- .-.. -.- / - --- / -.-- --- ..-"

Henry blinked then he replied, ".- -... --- ..- - / .-- .... .- - ..--.."

"... --- -- . - .... .. -. --. / .. -- .--. --- .-. - .- -. - .-.-.-"

Henry's face went when he heard the General let Rupert go, Henry waited for a few minutes since if he went after Rupert now, it will look suspicious. He looked next to his left to see if Charles was paying attention but wasn't. Henry quietly stood up and went outside the meeting room. He saw Rupert leaning against the wall a couple of meters away from the meeting room, he had his head down. Henry went up to him carefully, he didn't want to scare Rupert.

However, Rupert heard him and lifted his head to glance at him.

"What do you want to talk to me about?" Henry asked.

Rupert sifted his eyes then he sighed heavily, "Um... I have been feeling rather weird around lately... and I don't know why,"

Henry stared at him, he looked away from Rupert.

"So I have I..."

"Before, I would feel such immense hatred towards you," Rupert continued.

"Geez, thanks," Henry interrupted sarcastically.

"Shut up. As I was saying, before I would feel such immense hatred towards you but now..."

Rupert looked away from Henry, face red like a tomato. He didn't want to say it, it was too embarrassing for him and he wasn't the mushy gushy type. Henry saw Rupert wasn't looking at him. Henry thought about his feelings for Rupert as he waited for Rupert to say something. As Rupert said, Henry used to feel such hatred for Rupert but now...

Henry's face turned into determination as he went up to Rupert and grabbed his chin with his hand, making Rupert stare at him in confusion. Normally, Rupert would get annoyed when someone touch him, however, he saw Henry's look that he knows very well. Before he could say anything, he felt a pair of lips on his lips.

Henry was kissing him.

Rupert's face was burning as he felt both of Henry's hands on his face and he wrapped his arms around Henry. They both felt weird kissing each other but on the other hand, the kiss feels amazing. Sparks were flying and their hearts were beating faster. They stopped for a moment to breathe then resume kissing, Henry thread his fingers through Rupert's onyx hair, finding it soft which he thought was spiky like Rupert's personality.

Just as the kiss was beginning to turn into a makeout session, they heard footsteps coming their way.

"Hey Rupert, the General wants you back-" Charles stopped in his tracks as he saw Rupert entangled with Henry, the boys ceased the kissing to stare at Charles. Rupert's face was still burning while Henry's face was a cherry. The awkward silence lasted for a couple of seconds before Charles turned around and left the two idiots alone.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck," Rupert said while cursing in Russian.
