AAA CRIES . hmmmmmm i don't know what exactly to talk abt so im prolly just gonna word-vomit all over this post im so sorry

i rly like exploring their characterizations and they're the easiest for me to explain so let's start w that i guess. one of my fav things to think about is fig and it not quite being the hero that follows fantasy/fairytale standards

to sum it up, what i mean by that is, if he were put in a position to either a) save its boys, or b) save literally everybody else on the planet, he'd choose his boys. it's not going to sacrifice what it loves the most (and people that do not deserve that fate) for "the greater good." it knows that is selfish, and it knows that a lot of people would probably scowl at him if they were told his opinion on it, and sometimes even he is a little disgusted with his stance, but it stands firm in it

it knows it deserves better. he has already sacrificed enough—more than most people ever sacrifice in a lifetime. if the gods asked it to do it again, it would refuse. not his family. ganon can swallow the entire world up in its gullet if it wants to—as long as it means it does Not touch his boys

the meaning of "hero" gets a little bent after a hero is willing to do something like that, but that term no longer means very much to fig

hmmmmmm what else,,, i guess i could talk abt their dark world forms and how they work ? im thinking that briar is the only one of them that can willingly change between forms with an item—he has his shadow crystal, and the others have to use that to shift to their dw form. to switch out, they have to touch the master sword (or use a moon pearl)

usually that's not an issue for them bc their animal forms have bags n shit to carry that stuff, but for the smaller ones like wars and legend, it becomes a bit of an issue ? a little ferret cannot carry a sword. usually though, he simply sticks to the larger of the crew, who carry his sword for him

they each have abilities in their dw forms! wars' ability is to see through stuff (kinda based off the fact that ferrets like to burrow underground). lumen's (which i might add to) is the ability to freely mimic Any sound he has ever heard perfectly, regardless of whether or not her body would be able to produce that sound normally. briar's, which i think is prolly the coolest, is to sink in with the shadows and disappear. think how u can disappear into the ink in splatoon! he excels in combat in darker places

haven't thought of good powers for legend or fig yet. i have some ideas for fig, but we'll see :]

For Fig's and Lumen's dark world forms... is it top secret or are you still figuring it out?

still figuring it out! i know i Don't want fig's form to be a golden wolf like from tp—it just doesn't fit him. i'm not one to care too much abt what that means for the Lore of zelda in this au; at this rate, i'm leaning toward fig Not being the hero's shade at all and he has no relation to briar whatsoever !

the typical answer for lumen is some type of bird, but i want these forms to Sorta be unexpected, while still maintaining that vital hint toward true personality

legend is a bit bitter and outwardly angry sometimes, but he's secretly a very scared individual and feels helpless—his pink rabbit form reflects that. warriors is viewed as a famous and fearless captain of the hyrulian army, the serious soldier that doesn't show emotions—the people who actually know him know most of that is Wrong, and his ferret form gives away his warmth and Silliness

obviously there's nothing wrong w giving sksw link a bird form, cuz that's cool and Makes Sense, but i just wanna go in a different direction w this ,, not sure which one tho! a lil ironically, i'm thinking of smth hooved and grounded,,

Do the scars every bother the boys? Like, Wars has a lot have big scars. Do they ever hurt or itch or something like that?

oh, absolutely! wars doesn't like to sleep on his burnt shoulder cuz the feeling of the sheets against his burn doesn't feel right to him, and plus sometimes it hurts. on bad days, it hurts for wars to smile bc of his cheek scar pulling at his face :(

legend in particular (which you'll see tomorrow) has a lot of phantom pains not even related to his arthritis. he's got lots of deep gashes and his lichtenberg figures flare up quite a lot

in terms of looks bothering them, i'd say most of them are proud of their scars. legend, while he's either proud of or indifferent toward every other wound, he doesn't like the scars along his hands/fingers very much solely bc there are a Lot of them. to him, his hands are "fucked up" and "ugly" (wars likes to kiss his knuckles when he says this just to prove him wrong) legend doesn't like his lichtenberg figures very much either, but he's kinda come to accept them over time

not exactly related to any dramatic wounds, but lumen is kind of insecure about his stretch marks

Effigy has lion vibes to me

It might be too fierce for him but like. Lions can be goofy and fun and cuddly and Fiercely Protective of their little ones, and are scary to anyone who hurts their cubs! Thats the vibes effigy gives me. But you dont have to if you dont want of course, this is just my random late night thoughts

Also thinking of dragon lumen cuz i like dragons and theyre sleeby and its a bad idea to touch their hoards but thats like...slightly off of lumens vibes i think. Idk why. *shrugs*
