Background on St. Corona: The St. Corona legends are bloody. One account is that, as a 16-year-old, she was forced to watch her husband, St. Victor, being murdered because of his faith. She died in a gruesome manner: Her persecutors tied her between two palm trees that had been bent to the ground. Her body was then torn apart when the trees were set loose to snap back into standing position. She is above all revered in Germany’s southern state of Bavaria and in Austria, KNA reports. A chapel is dedicated to her in Sauerlach, near Munich. In the Bavarian Diocese of Passau, two churches recall her name, while in the province of Lower Austria and outside of Vienna there are two towns named “Sankt Corona.” In the cathedral of Munster in northwestern Germany, there is a St. Corona statue, currently decorated with flowers placed at its base. Viviene España kicks it off as she spins in the air, then Mr. & Mrs. G in position for Mr, G to shoot a crossbow at an Apple on Mrs. G’s head; Jason Span twirls around a pole in the air followed by Rob and Miss Jane, with Rob jumping on stilts. Next the King Charles Troop is jumping two ropes with a unicycle then graceful dancers dance with blue and white silks. Shenea Stiletto spins with her legs in the air as she hand balances before Rob is bumped in the face with a basketball by Miss Jane. Elan spinning fast in his cyr wheel transitions to a close up of Ballerina Bailey Anne Vincent before changing to the King Charles Troop playing basketball on unicycles. Noemi wrapped in metallic hula hoops leads into Elan with his Diabolos, which is similar to a yo-yo, before showing Noemi contorted shooting a crossbow with her feet. Then, Jen Bricker-Bauer and Dominic Bauer embrace each other as they spin in the air with aerial silks.
