We got back to producing our Shakespeare festival, continued creating podcasts and events at Industry City and even threw a massive Rocky Horror Picture Show screening night - that was unbelievable! Today is #GivingTuesdayNow! Help us keep our COVID-19 response work going by donating, or by spreading the word about the work we do.

At ASAN, we’ve been working every day to keep our community safe through the COVID-19 pandemic. When states and hospitals made discriminatory “medical rationing” plans that would have denied health care to people with disabilities, we took legal action, then created tools that self-advocates can use to fight discrimination in their own states. When Congress ignored our community’s needs in coronavirus relief packages, we fought back. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities needed cognitively accessible resources on COVID-19, so we’re partnering with other disability organizations to create them. States and the federal government aren’t reporting consistent data on COVID-19 in institutions, so we created a case tracker. You can read more about everything we’ve been doing here.

Because so many nonprofits are working hard to respond to this crisis, the folks at Giving Tuesday have made today, May 5th, #GivingTuesdayNow. This pop-up fundraiser will help us keep working to make sure that all people with disabilities have what we need to make it through the pandemic.

Your support has made all this work possible — but we know the pandemic is far from over. If you are able to give, please consider donating today to support our COVID-19 response work. We know this is a time when many people are struggling — please do not feel any pressure to donate if it is not a financial possibility for you right now.
