The holidays are coming up fast, and soon we will find ourselves caught up in a whirl of festivities, merrymaking and celebratory occasions. Due to the challenges of the last couple of years, many Canadians find themselves facing food insecurity, and local food banks report that their services are now needed more than ever.

Here at CAFE, we believe in community. We have always strived to be a source of positive change and influence in our community through our events, charity drives and outreach work. Currently, we are in the midst of preparing for our 6th annual Holiday Food Drive, through which we aim to raise awareness about food insecurity while also donating to two local organizations – Parkdale Food Bank and Fort York Food Bank.

This year, our Holiday Food Drive runs from November 1 through December 15, 2022. Each of our four downtown CAFE dispensary locations will feature a large bin, where our patrons and community members may drop off non-perishable food items for donation. CAFE will match all donations collected, and aim to drop off all food to our local community partners just in time for the holidays. This year, our goal is 1000lb of food collected!

Join us in helping to serve our community and combat hunger this holiday season! If you are able to donate, please check out our Locations page and see which CAFE dispensary is closest to you. We are grateful for all donations, and hope that together, we can make a difference.

Harvest festival 2022 raised £269 for the food bank along with 3 crates of food. Had some really great feedback from attendees, one person wrote "both my children are autistic and were made to feel welcomed and included". Taught quite a few small children how to make corn dolly type things out of paper and string and straw.
