What an amazing day giving back at the “ Keep Stockbridge Beautiful” 5th Annual Stockbridge Councilman Elton Alexander MLK Jr. Community Service Project on Hudson Bridge Rd at I-75. We loved on our city planting shrubs, putting down weed block fabric, spreading mulch, and collecting litter in a one mile radius cleaning up the gateway to our city and county. We literally swept around the front door to our community today. This was no photo ops here we put in 2 hour plus working and impacting the village in near freezing temperatures! 2022 REWIND: Wesley Memorial Methodist Men's Ministry Treats WCHS Football Team to Dinner and Pep Talk 🏈 🍝 🗣 Giving back to the community appears in different ways. In this case, it came in the form of a home-cooked meal. Before the start of the season, Wesley Memorial Methodist invited WCHS Athletic Director Victor Hunt, Jr, Coach Maurice Crump, and the football team over for a pre-game dinner and a pep talk in August 2022. On the menu: Spaghetti, fresh garden salad, rolls, drinks, and to take with them on the road, a football-themed cake. Amongst the chatter between the men's ministry and the players were words of encouragement and the older generation sharing their childhood memories. Our 1ST PLACE PRIZE WINNER stopped by the office this afternoon. Andrew Sanchez came in first by raising $3,000+ for the popcorn fundraiser which went to our YMA Cares 7th Annual Christmas Toy Drive this year! With his hard work and the help of others we were able to pour into the community and give out thousands of toys to local families! Amazingly his story was that he was not sure to even raise a penny in the fundraiser contest but he worked persistently and was able to raise $3,000+! We love to see his reward from hard work and also letting him know how much he poured into the community and by being a blessing he was also blessed!
