A Rising Spanish Star is Joining Team Heretics’ Academy League Roster for 2023
Tumblr media
Victor "Flakked" Lirola Tortosa, who made his LEC debut as G2 Esports' primary AD carry, has moved on to Team Heretics for the remainder of the year. Journalist Alejandro Gomis claims that the 21-year-old will compete for the group's League of Legends Academy roster in the LVP. Following a disappointing 2021 campaign, the perennial LEC champions swept the slate clean during the offseason by parting with Rekkles, Mikyx, and Wunder. Instead of signing veterans for 2022, G2 opted for talent from Europe’s blossoming regional leagues and landed on former Karmine Corp support Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé in the bottom lane along with Flakked. https://twitter.com/anonimotum/status/1590773886433759232 The new roster was an instant success. Although they finished the 2022 LEC Spring Split with a so-so 11-7 record, they eventually took home the LEC championship by going undefeated through the lower bracket in one of the best postseason showings the league has seen in a while. The team also built a historic win streak from the second round of the 2022 LEC Spring Split lower bracket until the ninth day of the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational, when PSG Talon broke the streak at 24 straight victories. Even though they were eventually swept by T1 in the tournament’s knockout stage, it was a promising start for G2’s new roster. Confidence levels soared the following summer when G2 solidified their status as one of the best teams in the league by securing first place with a 12-6 record. Unfortunately for G2’s die-hard fans, the squad couldn’t stop Odoamne from capturing the first LEC trophy of his career, and at the 2022 World Championship, the team stumbled to an abysmal 1-5 record through the group stage against China’s JD Gaming, Korea’s DWG KIA, and North America’s Evil Geniuses. Looking forward, the samurai seem to be heading into a new era, starting with the departure of their longtime star jungler Jankos. With Flakked and Targamas reportedly finding new homes in 2023, it’s almost certain that G2 will be sporting a whole new look for the next Spring Split. Team Heretics, on the other hand, is building a potentially bright future in the LEC. After buying its spot in the league from Misfits Gaming earlier this summer, the organization is focusing on creating a team that people will cheer for once the new competitive circuit begins. The Emotional Highs & Lows of League of Legends Esports
Some people would have you believe that it's silly to get emotional over a game, but for these players, it's so much more than just a game.

LoL Worlds 2017: RNG beat Fnatic to end European hopes
New Post has been published on http://usnewsaggregator.com/lol-worlds-2017-rng-beat-fnatic-to-end-european-hopes/
LoL Worlds 2017: RNG beat Fnatic to end European hopes
After yesterday’s incredible quarterfinal series where Misfits couldn’t quite pull off the upset against SK Telecom T1, Europe’s hopes shifted to Fnatic.
In the third quarterfinal match of the League of Legends World Championship 2017, Europe’s Fnatic took on China‘s Royal Never Give Up to see who would progress to the semifinal.
There were flashes of brilliance from Fnatic, who have had an up and down tournament. However, RNG managed to win the match 3-1, ending Fnatic and Europe’s run at Worlds for another year.
The crowd in Guangzhou turned up today to cheer on their local team, Royal Never Give Up
Royal Never Give Up were favourites today, as Fnatic were having an up and down tournament
After their win, Royal Never Give Up will go on to face champs SK Telecom T1 in the semifinal
Royal Never Give Up looked set to take the series in a clean sweep after winning game one and overcoming a huge deficit to win game two as well.
However, the Chinese team threw away a big lead in game three and couldn’t stop the rally from Fnatic.
Unfortunately for the Europeans, Fnatic weren’t able to find a way to break through RNG’s lines in the fourth game. RNG took their time, and made their team composition count to win the game and the match.
Game 1
Fnatic got off to an early lead in game one as Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson took first blood playing Sivir.
The gold totals remained close going into the 24th minute though, as both teams managed to get kills in the top lane and mid lane.
Royal Never Give Up managed to secure the first Baron and grabbed a couple of kills in the process. Mads ‘Broxah’ Brock-Pedersen spotted Jian ‘Uzi’ Zi-Hao on low health and went in for the kill, only to underestimate the support he had from Yan ‘LetMe’ Jun Ze on Cho’gath.
Rekkles followed in on what he thought would be clean up duty, only to lose his life as well to LetMe and Li ‘Xiaohu’ Yuan Hao, RNG’s mid laner.
RNG followed up on their advantage, and a handful of mistakes from Fnatic allowed Royal to take the game in the 44th minute with the Europeans being forced back into their own fountain.
The difference in emotion shown on the faces of the two teams showed how much it all means
Game 2
The second game started poorly for Fnatic, as they lost the first tower and a couple of kills on both sides of the map.
However, Fnatic’s mid laner Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther managed an improbable turnaround in the face of three RNG players, surviving and picking up a kill in the process.
From there, Fnatic pushed, and were looking strong in the middle game until a Baron steal from RNG turned things back around.
Despite this, Fnatic still held the gold advantage, but were unable to make the decisive push.
Royal took the next Baron too, and broke through Fnatic’s base after a couple of positioning errors.
The Chinese fans in attendance roared with delight as RNG came from behind to win game two
Game 3
Fnatic were on the verge of being knocked out of the tournament, and from the looks of their draft phase, they were up against a strong composition that RNG is usually very comfortable on.
And indeed, RNG took an early lead and looked like they were going to snowball the game.
RNG were running rampant in Fnatic’s base in the 29th minute, and there was only one Nexus turret remaining. However, Uzi made the strange decision to tank the tower shots, and died, leaving his team lacking damage for a final push.
Much like in the previous game, RNG started to throw away their lead, and the back and forth game went on for another 26 minutes after that.
The result was on a knife edge, as a big team fight win for either team could spell the end of the game.
Fnatic took inhibitors, but RNG stole yet another Baron to extend the game to 54 minutes. Eventually, the super minions and Fnatic’s pressure became too much for the Chinese team.
Fnatic knuckled down and clawed a hard fought comeback victory in a 54 minute game three
Game 4
Fnatic kept their dreams of reaching the semifinals alive in game three, but they’d have to do it two more times to make their dreams a reality.
It was looking good too, as Fnatic took yet another lead early in the game. They were 3-0 up in kills until Caps made a terrible decision to not recall on low health, losing his life cheaply to Xiaohu.
A big jump forwards from Xiaohu on Corki, with Shen for backup, earned RNG a few more kills, although Fnatic kept pace throughout the game.
Fnatic’s only problem was the scaling potential of RNG, and they would have to find a way to break through the Chinese team’s defenses before the late game.
Unfortunately, they were unable to, as RNG waited and waited until their carries had the items they needed to win a fight.
The 40th minute was the decisive moment, as Fnatic lost a fight in their own jungle, and then were powerless to stop Royal Never Give Up storming their base and taking the game, and the series.
Fnatic had to bow out of the tournament, with Rekkles conspicuously missing in their goodbye
Rekkles remained sitting on his own for several minutes after the quarterfinal match was over
Rekkles was clearly overcome with emotion at the end of the game, further fueling rumours that this could be his last ever World Championship.
European hopes have been dashed for another year, as the tournament now contains just two Korean teams, two Chinese teams, and a North American team.
Royal Never Give Up will go on to face three time World Champions SK Telecom T1 in a semifinal match next Saturday, October 28.

WORLDS START TOMORROW LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! I don't know how many games I will be able to watch since I will be pretty busy irl (I'll be mostly watching VOD), but I'll definitely try to support Europe. I'll be honest tho, my crystal ball prediction were FPX, but anything could happen... Meanwhile Off-season is getting spicy with all sort of rumors and drama. Excited for the future! I'm also sensing a slow return to normality, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for the next LEC with public and everything! Unfortunately I don't have many updates about G2, as you have probably seen online things are getting a little bit by with the Rekkles rumors and people claiming there are internal conflicts... The only thing I know is that Jankos will be on vacation in Italy, Switzerland and Austria with his friends from Poland and Rekkles is currently enjoying his time with his niece. Here's a video of T1 singing because it's cute:
