Japanese Tales Fans Vote Their Favorite Tales Games In Recent Survey
Japanese website Net Lab has made another Tales related survey for fans to vote; the topic this time is favorite Tales games. The poll ran from June 27, 2023 to July 4, 2023 and has a total of 10, 344 votes overall.
Before I reveal the results, there are three things I want to let you know:
This is a Japan-only poll because the admins did not want overseas fans to vote due to possible illegal voting.
Fans can vote up to three games.
Please do not be vocal about the games/titles you hate or don’t particularly; if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.
Here are the results from 1st to 24th (I’ll add in the number of votes the game has received and a comment that pertain to the respective game translated via Google Translate and me trying to make it as cohesive in English):
Abyss - 1176 votes
Comment: Bamco, are you seeing this? I’m forever waiting on a full remake of Abyss.
2. Vesperia - 1035 votes
Comment: My favorite is Tales of Vesperia. My first Tales game was Legendia, but Vesperia is the first one I’ve cleared. The Switch version is super packed and I have beaten the secret boss. I had a super hard time with that boss battle. I love Yuri so much.
3. Zestiria - 983 votes
Comment: It’s been a long time since I graduated from the Tales series, but Zestiria made me want to come back. There may be times where I feel unreasonable, but I’ve come to like this work, including that “do-it-yourself” thing. I really like it.
4. Symphonia - 962 votes
Comment: Before I played the first 3D game, I was a little worried, but when I opened the lid, I was hooked on the perfection that surpassed the previous work. I love the characters, the story, the music and the system.
5. Phantasia - 701 votes
Comment: For me, it’s Phantasia, which I played for the first time and became the most memorable. I want it to have a remake like Destiny.
6. Eternia - 693 votes
Comment: One vote for Eternia with a smooth battle system!
7. Destiny - 601 votes
Comment: Just remembering that scene with Leon breaks my heart. My favorite work of all time. I want to play again, so I’ll be waiting for a port!
8. Berseria - 529 votes
Comment: Because the first game I played was Tales of Berseria, I got hooked onto Velvet.
9. Graces F - 528 votes
10. Xillia 2 — 508 votes
11. Destiny 2 - 456 votes
12. Arise - 367 votes
13. Rebirth - 311 votes
Comment: I love Rebirth’s battle system and characters so much!
14. Legendia - 294 votes
Comment: Legendia, when will you get a remake or a port? I’ve been waiting…
15. Xillia - 176 votes
16. Luminaria - 171 votes
Comment: Luminaria is the best! I want to see the continuation someday!
17. Innocence R - 168 votes (tied)
Comment: Tales of Innocence (DS version) makes me want to play regularly. A work that I love and value so much that I lose my vocabulary.
17. Dawn of the New World - 168 votes (tied)
19. Crestoria - 148 votes
20. Hearts R - 134 votes
Comment: Tales of Hearts for DS is my favorite work, not the remake version of Hearts R.
21. Narikiri Dungeon - 91 votes
22. Others - 68 votes
I’ve seen people say “Radiant Mythology series”, “Asteria”, “Versus” “Link”, “The Rays” and “Warheit”.
23. Tempest - 56 votes
Comment: I will always love Tempest. Please remake it.
24 - Summoner’s Lineage - 20 votes
What are your thoughts about the results?

Any day is a good day for theories so
I LOVE tales of series multiverse so much and here's my point:
Yuri Lowell is Konohana Sakuya's avatar and I have never heard someone talking about it so it's just a crazy idea I love with whole my heart and hope more people will know about it
Well, let's start from the appearance: Sakuya and Yuri look very similar. Yuri looks more like Sakuya's avatar than Chitose (a canonical Sakuya's avatar) from some points. He may not be a ninja (he has a ninja dog at least!!!) but the colours of hair and clothes are similar and some of face expressions too
Our next point is personality and plot points and there are some interesting findings of mine. Sakuya is a goddess with a low self-esteem. She convinces herself that she must remove all feelings for Asura (a white-haired commander with not-likely-to-happen ideas of perfect world so there is a TYPE) whom she secretly in love with and for whom she is ready to die/trade life (when she is ready to die if it is necessary to activate the Manifest). It just looks so similar to all Fluri stuff I CAN'T (or I'm just insane. I guess I'll never know). Also relationship between Sakuya and Inanna, Yuri and Sodia are kinda alike in some ways but it's not THAT similar (but would be very funny if Sodia was a readhead)
More interesting stuff I make an article about: Sakuya is a goddess of flowers and Yuri's name means lily. I always thought it is strange like what the hell is it supposed to mean???? Names in Tales of Series are important as hell just look at Judith and then Yuri is just lily??? But if he is a Sakuya avatar it makes sense. The same goes with his Asteria New Year outfit. He wears a hannya mask which represents a jealous female demon. Do I have to mention that Sakuya is HELLA jealous of Inanna because of Asura? She also looks a lot like hannya mask (she is often drawn with the hannya mask expression and she has a little red horns and the colour is important because red mask represents a woman from the lower class and Yuri goes EAT THE RICH pretty often, don't you think so?). in this suit Yuri also wears his belt tied around his stomach and I've done a little research. It is the way yujo and merried women tied they're belts so it can be a clue.
To sum up, I hope rays/asteria will prove my point somehow because it'll be a really interesting plot twist and will automatically make Sakuya and her avatars one of my favourite things in the series.

ngl it's getting rly annoying seeing people say "remake of x game!" constantly. people are so obsessed with the idea of remakes lately. they don't wonder what the next new game will be like. they just want remakes (including in franchises that don't do those often. not every franchise is Tales, where they've been doing remakes actively throughout its lifespan and not just during this Uwu Remake Era).
with FE, remakes make me a bit eh bc they've all sold poorly or just barely made a profit. Marth's games' remakes on top of the failed Tellius sales almost sent FE into its grave. SoV is just... there. it happened and the fandom moved on, save for the Alm and Celica alts in Heroes.
but like, it was so annoying watching VA interviews and just seeing the word "remake" thrown around so much from the chat. people want "remakes" of games that just don't need them. updated ports is one thing, but entire remakes?
there's more to FE than remakes, but it's all people seem to talk about. I'd like Tellius ports as much as the next girl for people's accessibility (and specifically bc IS' lack of marketing destroyed those games' sales and now they're so rare they're super expensive), but a remake? it's not necessary. even with quality of life features added, those games only need ports. I play them very regularly and frankly have way more fun with them than I do with modern day Menu Emblem.
also, I don't want the fandom wank carrying over into remakes of games that never even had wank. the biggest wank Tellius ever had was the Ike vs Micaiah wars in the fandom, which were not only a fraction of what happens now post Fodlan games but also weren't anywhere near as aggressive.
idk I'm just tired of remake this, remake that. it's also because of the rampant remakes in the industry that I'm tired of it, but it's also tiring to see it constantly in this fandom. I'm glad that FE7 is coming back, but as a port on the Switch and still as a GBA game. FE4? super glad it came back as a port (JP eShop only). remakes though? too tired of the concept (especially when FE remakes have not only almost killed the franchise from lack of sales but were otherwise just mediocre and moved on from pretty quickly). I also don't trust the FE fandom with remakes at this point. character hate is so rampant in this fandom that for the life of me I don't even want Tellius ports if it's going to save me the headache and aggravation from people's lack of character comprehension. :') that shit will turn me into a hard stan and my blog will have to be painted in my blorbo just to keep haters away. :'''')
