could anyone who's read The Color of Revenge and the Mirrorworld books tell me what the connections are?

the biggest letdown of the color of revenge for me was the way cornelia hyped up the "who will save the world, age or youth" thing when the most that happened was nyame and dustfinger throwing their backs out and the kids going "what are you catholic" to the adults when handling orpheus

What gets me most about Orpheus’s revenge is how Resa finds out about Mo’s disappearance before she vanishes and her last feeling before being trapped is growing panic and terror for her missing loved ones.
It’s like coming home to an eerily empty house because someone you care about has been murdered and when you finally start realising that something is horribly wrong you are cut down yourself.

Febuwhump Day 19 - Please don't Please stop
From The Prince of Thieves:
I don’t have time to savour the fleeting thrill of hearing someone who isn’t Baden Hatchett say my name. In an instant, he strides toward her, and a crack fills the room. Bree’s head whips to the side; the back of Hatchett’s hand comes away painted with blood.
Hatchett is still, not even seeming to notice the blood on his hands. “At least we can both admit when we’ve made a mistake,” he says softly. “I wish I’d never laid eyes on you, or on your pathetic drunk of a father. Agreeing to his offer was, perhaps, the most foolish thing I have ever done.”
…instead of just running away.
I was to be married. I chose differently.
“What the fuck.” The only words I can possibly say.
Bree’s eyes turn toward me.
And then they’re back on Baden Hatchett. “Stop hurting him.” Her head dips, hangs, goes still. “Please. Stop. Just leave him alone.”
“Oh, you miserable little witch,” Hatchett says. He lifts her chin. “So faithless, so treacherous—a whole lifetime of it. You’re begging for him again, and yet you have been keeping such wicked secrets. You didn’t tell him about the betrothal.” For the tiniest instant, he looks at me. “Did you tell him about your sweet little betrayal?”

hhjfhgjkdfhgjfdh RIGHT? RIGHT?? i'm so thrilled that final breakup wasn't spoiled for you (people really don't talk about it much for some reason). it's another example of cornelia descibing something very dramatic very impactful but it's basta so three sentences should be enough. BUT. STILL. I JUST THINK ABOUT IT A LOT. I'M SURE DUSTFINGER DOES TOO,, (this is schleierkauz btw lol)
YAYY HI!!! <3 <3 HAHAHAHAAH YES THE THREE SENTENCE TREATMENT 😭😭 she really kept us patiently waiting for 600+ pages and when he finally appeared he wasn’t even COHERENT. as sadistic as this might sound, i’m definitely more satisfied w his outcome in inkdeath than inkspell. i was so hoping that single-sentence stab wasn’t The End for him…but this... whew really paid off 😫

“The Cracks in our Reality” I have too many questions and much admiration so anything will do!!
1, 3, 5, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15
Tumblr media
Ahhh!!! Thank you!! It makes me happy that you’re as invested in my story as I am!!
1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
I wanted to explore Loki’s trauma in a way that the MCU doesn’t! And I was really tired of reading stories, both traditionally published and in fanfiction, that treats falling in love as a healing balm for trauma. TCOR is not a story about two characters falling in love and then their trauma is fixed immediately, but rather a story where Loki (and Rabbit, the reader) must actively work on themselves if they want to be romantically involved. So, there’s a hint at the coming plot :)
10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story?
Mostly because this is a story that is very close to my heart and Loki is, ultimately, my favorite character from the MCU. Again, I wanted to explore this trauma really in depth and Rabbit, the reader, was spun from a need to foil Loki’s trauma with her own. Both of them are dealing with similar, but very different, situations and I thought that they worked perfectly together! Plus, everyone knows that I am a writer of plus-sized characters here because I think that we need more representation of fat, confident MCs in both traditional fiction and fanfiction!
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story?
You can check out TCOR’s playlist here on spotify!
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
That you deserve a second chance, no matter what. Be kind to yourself and be kind to others.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic?
This may be a bit of a spoiler, but I learned that the only way I can be happy with myself is if I trust myself and trust in the people who care about me. If I continue to exist in a reality that I don’t let others into, then how can they ever support me?
Thanks for all the questions lovely!!! I’m sorry for being so long-winded but I could talk about TCOR and my love of this story for hours and hours and hours! I hope you guys are enjoying our time together and looking forward to every release!
Ask me more questions about my stories!

OH??? (tcor spoilers/new character)
If you scroll down to the "product description by the publisher" section on the tcor amazon page there's THIS:

(Translation beneath the cut)
...so that's almost definitely the final version of dryope from chapter 14, right?
Lilia
As a young girl, Lilia spent a year living with Roxane and was like a little sister to Jehan and Brianna
She lives with the "Women in the Forest" and is a sort of plant whisperer. Plants obey her the same way fire obeys Dustfinger.
Her forehead is covered with plant tattoos: Brambles, thistles, a wild rose.

tiny little cornelia promo interview has me severely compromised
this one
at no point does she say anything she hasn't said before (& that i haven't documented before somewhere in the bookshop Q&A translations) but STILL. her summary of what she can tell us about the story made me Unwell (putting the translation beneath a cut just to be safe)
"Well, the way I write is that I don't want to know anything… don't want to know too much about the labyrinth I'm entering. For me, the excitement of writing is about not knowing what the story will eventually reveal to me. So I'm not going to spoil the adventure the readers hopefully have waiting for them too much. It's about revenge. The title says as much. Orpheus' revenge on Dustfinger. And you could say the revenge of a reader on a character he once loved very much. For that character not loving him back. It is also about the question whether words are more powerful than images. It's also about being young and getting older. It's about a thousand - hopefully - themes so every reader can pick something out that speaks to their own life. Something they never thought about before. I hope it will be a journey from which you can bring back plenty of images and many places you might like to travel to."

I've already read three different reviews of The Color of Revenge on Goodreads criticizing the fact that Cornelia revealed the names of Dustfinger and the Prince and it's like… put all the blame on me, please. Cornelia confirmed on Goodreads itself that she revealed their names because I asked her (in fact, that's how we met, on a March 8!), so mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.
first of all power move on your part (i too have decided to take credit for one (1) sentence in tcor, you'll see which one soon!), second of all i like them! they're both very pretty. i do think it's a tiny bit silly how (minor spoilers don't read this if you don't want minor spoilers!)
... in the final version they're just revealed apropos nothing - nyame calling dustfinger by his given name when he was being eaten alive by gried and despair was (chef's kiss). now it's like, yeah, no, everyone always knew, they just like their fancy nicknames more... :D

Spoilers for new Inkworld character - kind of?
This is the funniest submission I’ve ever gotten, Anna take the floor:
“Inua is the Black Prince’s nephew and he can talk to birds, dear T.J!  🥹 ❤️ 💕 ❤️ 💕 ❤️ 💕 🩺  I quote a brief fragment of a letter from Cornelia about him: ❝He is a very gifted storyteller and musician, so many princesses have courted him. He was even kidnapped once by a queen (…) He so loves to travel far far away, I think he last went to Mauritius to listen to a singer who is supposed to know the song of trees!❞ Cornelia tells SUCH BEAUTIFUL THINGS about him that I reserve them for the livestream on Tintenherz, when she and I are ready to introduce him to you all! 🙏🏻 ❤️ Cornelia also says that I’m a shapeshifter and that I can transform into a black cat, I’ll ask her to explain it too! 🥹🥹🥹And to think that I will be able to tell all these things to my grandchildren… 🥹🥹🥹 Like the fact that she said that she revealed the names of the Prince and Dustfinger because I asked her!!!! 🥹🥹🥹❤️ 💕 ❤️ 💕 ❤️ 💕 🩺 In fact, that was the first question I asked her in my life, that’s how we met, on a March 8!PS: I’m completely sure that the LGBT+ character will generate a lot of fanfics too, it’s… simply wonderful.”

Rereading the available TCoR chapters after rereading Inkheart is so funny. Throughout the whole first book everyone makes fun of Basta for being superstitious and believing in curses, like an idiot.
Cut to TCoR and 3/4 of the cast is cancelled due to Being Cursed
