He knows Wilbur was bad. He knows he is Wilbur- but he isn’t the one everyone around remembers.

Fundy trying to explain it to Ghostbur again- that he just wants another family member that’s alive and hasn’t disowned him- and then Ghostbur stops, tilting his head. “I don’t think my brother’s disowned you?”

Unimpressed, and confused- because Wilbur’s brothers are teenagers and an orphan killer- Ghostbur continues on. Saying he doesn’t remember them much, but that they’re alive. That they saw them recently- that he’s pretty sure him dying has left them without any biological family.

In this version, Grian started living in Japan at the age of 7 or 8.

Wilbur can still remember that day clearly, even though, it was quite some time ago.

It was his sixth birthday, just 4 days before his younger brother's birthday. His younger brother Dream is almost exactly 1 year younger. He and Dream always got along, even back then.

As always (as far as he could remember), the Soot household, being him, Dream and their mother, celebrated together.

His parents are divorced. They have been for about his entire life. They never talk about it. They never talk about the why.

His mother was a wreck in the early years of his childhood, if the stories from the old family friends are to be believed. They say she was neglectful. That changed with Dream. He can't really remember. He was too young.

On the next day, he visited his father. He has a different last name. Dreamslayer. He always thought the name was weird. Apparently, it was an old and traditional name. No one really knows where it came from.

His father lived in an old mansion, an family heirloom.

On that fateful day, one day after his sixth birthday, he left Wilbur alone in his bureau for a few minutes. Him, being a curious 6 year old rummaged through the drawers.

What he found was strange.

A picture.

Of a disgruntled boy around the age of six or seven

The boy, very similar appearance-wise to him, standing and holding a small bundle of towels.

Towels he rememberd lying around in his room as comfort.

It all clicked.

That's someone close to their family.

That's probably an older brother.

An older brother no one told him about.

For the twin AU it makes even more sense for Willbur to go out of his way to be a good big brother for Tubbo and Tommy. I imagine Grian was the ‘older’ twin between them and since Wilbur lost him he just adopts anyone at arms reach without realizing it... also his brotherly relationship with Techno could ressemble a lot how Willbur’s relationship was with Grian when they where kids. Basically. Will misses his bro and gets himself all the brothers he can get

this... oh my god. Yeah, I think Grian would’ve probably been the one to try and be overprotective of the other, since if Grian had siblings, considering Yandere High School lore,, they’d probably be treated like shit, and ignored.

Little Grian would be the one to be THERE and caring for him, just trying to support each other despite being far to young to understand everything.

We see he’s already mature at the age of six and i remember him seeming to just kinda have,,, accepted adults as?? useless?? like he expects fully to care for himself...

So when Wilbur grows up and loses all communication with him and THEN finds out he’s SURELY dead, he tries to be the brother he remembers Grian being, and helps look out for others and be the brother THAT HE LOST..
