Master Neloth, My spider importer informed me he’d passed through your new tower settlement on his latest expedition to Solstheim. Really, I'm surprised you are still alive. You haven’t made any recent contributions to Tamriel’s scholarship or exerted your once-strong will in Morrowind politics. I therefore presumed one of our national tragedies had carried you off.
I congratulate you on acquiring the elevated title of Arch-Magister of Solstheim. While I was but a mere apprentice to the Keeper of the Tel Naga Archives, I knew then that you aspired to the lofty position of Arch-Magister. Best wishes for future success in your research and the acquisition of your own Council to go with the title,
Tivela Andrethi, Mistress of Tel Galen
Oh, you're one of the Andrethi children. I believe I remember you. I remember your father, at the very least. So, you were one of my archivist's underlings, were you? Given your clear attention to even the most trivial of details, I'm sure you were good enough at your job.
'Morrowind politics', or what's left of them, have nothing to offer me. Our once proud and prosperous House is more concerned with petty territory squabbles with House Redoran and rampant Argonians than advancing our status or growing our influence. Tel Mithryn, while still modest in size, is shaping into a fine citadel. There is far more to the title of Arch-Magister than simply presiding over a council, though I shall make sure to inform you should any positions become available.
You say you have not seen my contributions to Tamriel's scholarship? Perhaps that is simply because they have become so ubiquitous you did not realize that I was the innovator. Tell me, do you have a staff enchanter at Tel Galen? If not, I'm sure you could easily find one at the College of Winterhold or within the walls of the College of Whispers. I've heard that the Imperial army has even adopted them for their speed and efficiency. Though I understand if it escaped your notice that these were of my design.
...
I'm sorry, did you say your spider informed you?

hi! i was wondering what mods you're using in your screenshots? they look so gorgeous that you've made me want to play morrowind again haha
Thanks, I'm glad they're giving you the Morrowind itch! I do actually have a list of graphical mods I use, covering everything from shaders to texture replacers, UI improvements, animations, and sounds. It's not a proper modding guide per say (and there are links included to actual instructional modding guides in the list), but it covers most of the visual elements I use in my screenshots. That said, that list doesn't include any location or landscape mods, so real quick, here's a few of the common ones I use in my screenshots: Landscape Mods: Spines of Madness Azura Coast Redone Rocky West Gash - BCOM Rocky West Gash - Aggressively Compatible Rocky West Gash - Devilish Rocky West Gash (I use this one) Markgran Forest - (Alternative: Another Markgran Forest) Bal'laku - The Lonely Towers Strider Burial OAAB Grazelands OAAB - The Ashen Divide OAAB - Foyada Mamaea The Mountain of Fear Graht Morrowind Swamp Trees
Major Location and Landmark Mods: Tall Dungeons The Beacons of Mamaea The Great Hive of Baan Binif Memento Mori Telvanni Sea Beacon OAAB Tel Raloran The Beacon of St. Rilms Salothran Beacon Fort Ghostmoth The Telvanni Ward Keepers The Slavers Spire The Great Seawall of Vivec Gates of Ascadia Ald Gash - A Redoran Lighthouse RR Mod Series - Telvanni Lighthouse Tel Vos Hla Odai Caldera Priory Thickle-Lo Grove Draggle-Tail Shack Arnchenzel - Dwemer Underwater House Location Overhauls: OAAB Shipwrecks OAAB Tel Mora Tethered Tel Branora Caldera Governors Manor Redone Balmora Temple Redone Finding the Erabenimsun Ashlander Camp OAAB Market Baar Dau - Ministry of Truth The Ashlanders OAAB Seyda Neen - Damp Little Squat URH - Khuul and URH - Ald Velothi Cozy Caldera Cozy Ald'ruhn Hla Oad Grim Khuul and Enchanted Ald Velothi Mystical and Religious Maar Gan (alternatively Maar Gan - Town of Pilgrimage) Galen's Quest for Truth The Northern Strongholds RR Mod Series - Ghostgate Fortress Corprusarium - Sorrow Heart of Tel Fyr Marandus Rebuilt Town Additions: Dagon Fel Mill Redux Dagon Fel Lighthouse Vivec Lighthouse The Ebonheart Lighthouse Telvanni Lighthouse in Sadrith Mora The cool Khuul Lighthouse Shipyards of Vvardenfell Balmora Docks District Sload and Slavers
I'm almost certainly missing a few, and that list doesn't include quest or dungeon mods for the most part, but that's most of the major ones I've featured. I'll have to make a proper new list covering content mods at some point.

Will You Come Into My Parlour?
I am Tivela Andreth, Mistress of Tel Galen. I am a Magister of House Telvanni and, as of 4E 200, its greatest living expert in the field of Entomological Alteration.
That's a boast that gives me less pleasure than you might imagine. Our House is much reduced from the heydays of my youth. So much scholarship and so many scholars have been lost. But we are rebuilding and our mages are still more learned and powerful than any other people's.
I am well over two centuries old and have seen people, empires and gods come and go. I aided the Nerevarine, closed an Oblivion Gate, and fought to save House Telvanni from the Argonian invasion. It has been nice to get a few decades of peace and quiet lately on my island along the Azura Coast. War and disaster are incredibly bad for raising and breeding bugs.
If you have a question for me, I may give you an answer. I am reputed to be one of the more approachable Telvanni masters. I believe my experience raising five children has given me a mental toughness and flexibility some of my colleagues lack.
And yes, the rumours are true. I am half Breton. And no, that is not a deep dark secret you can blackmail me over.

Double-Talk OC meme
Tagged by both @dumpsterhipster and @thana-topsy
I'll do this for my most double talking OC at the moment, adult Tivela Andrethi, circa the beginning of the game Morrowind. (She is not the Nerevarine, that is her estranged brother.)
What do they say they want? (i.e., what are the desires they put out into the world and have no trouble admitting)
Being a great Telvanni master and having her own mushroom tower some day. Being renowned for her knowledge of insects and creating new useful and beautiful breeds of beetles.
2. What do they think they want? (i.e., what are the desires they keep hidden and only admit to their closest loved ones)
Tivela really wants Mistress Dratha to take her on as an apprentice, but this something she only tells her parents because it would be profoundly embarassing to the reputation of a young Telvanni wizard to openly pursue such a prestigious role and then fail. She instead quietly works to one day come to the attention of Dratha. Right now she is labouring away in a fairly prestigious but not very interesting research role in another Telvanni house.
Tivela also keeps secret that she wants to import chaurus to Morrowind, because she knows that even her Telvanni peers might think that a bad idea. But they're such fascinating creatures!
She doesn't really say it to anyone, but she consciously wishes that her parents would get back together. Her parents split after her brother Rilos left. Only it's incredibly awkward because her father Reynis is the Master of his tower, Tel Galen, and her mother Mari is still living in the settlement and is technically a Breton slave. (Which Tivela's rivals love to point out.) Her parents are still working on magical research together, but mostly via notes delivered by intermediary hirelings and servants of the house. It's a very awkward home life and though at some level she knows her mother is better off out of the relationship, she often wishes her parents could just resolve their differences and be happy together again. She blames her brother's behaviour for splitting them up.
3. What do they actually want? (i.e., what is something they subconsciously need, but either fdo not realize or cannot admit it)
Tivela can never admit that she wants her brother back. Or that deep down she knows it was her father who was wrong in his clash with Rilos. That her beloved father is an asshole slaver who kept her mother prisoner all these years, even while professing to love her. And that Rilos was right for defying him. So much of her current identity is wrapped up in being her father's daughter, a Telvanni wizard like him, and being a contrast to her brother who ran away to Black Marsh to live with wild Argonians, and who squandered everything their father taught him.

After so long I finally made refs of my argonian character Nevar from TES3 :D There will be a third outfit I planing to make when he's on Solstheim so aka Winter/Warm oufit. Nevar Age: 17 years old during TES3 (but he looks older), later immortal due Corpus disease Race: Argonian Gender: Male Birth: 3E 410, 29th Morning Star Birthsign: The Ritual (but he rarely use birthsign ability) Birthplace: Sadrith Mora, Vvanderfell - Morrowind Height: 5,1 ft Affiliation: House Telvanni, Azura (as her champion), Blades (formerly) Personality: Bitter, sarcastic, dry sense of humour, confident, learner, selfish for time to time Qoute: "House Telvanni. The best mages of all Morrowind, maybe in whole Tamriel... haha... heartless bastards." Some curious trivia or fun facts about him: - Mark on his chest is actually birtmark in shape of the scar. Can be mistake for actual scar but it isn't (aka where Nerevar was stab by Tribunal) - He was a slave to Telvanni master in Tel Galen (ESO players house) but his master was kind to Nevar. Nevar considered him as father figure and his master teach him everything about magic. - He's good in Destruction, Conjurantion, Enchanting and little bit with Restoration. He has few knowledge on other type of magics but isn't good with them. - Nevar cherish his feather tail. DON'T TOUCH IT, HE WILL BITE! - He wears scarf he got from his Telvanni master after he pass away. He treasure it above all else - It's hard to get him impressed on anything and looks always bored and never show a smile (at least what argonian mimic considered a smile) but if you get him impressed, he won’t admit it. - After acquire ring Moon-and-Star, his natural blood-red eyes turn golden (in my hc, Nerevar has golden eyes) - He's the smallest of my all TES characters. Don't tell him he's small, he hates it ;) - He has leucism, don't mistake him for albino argonian (my good friend help me with it :) ) - He's Ace/Aro (Asexual and Aromantic) Art by me Nevar belongs to me TES franchise belongs to Bethesda

Alliance Commander Ask
tagged by @callavia(thank you!), just gonna open tag if anyone wants to do it :)
1) Who’s your Alliance Commander? What class are they? Alignment? Random other facts you wanna share?
Tumblr media
Tiiiiime for canon #2, aka my beautiful avocado girl Vica Nerai. Fully LS Consular Shadow(added Sage when she got a second class). Loves Theron, Crete the Manka cat, and hot chocolate.
2) What’s a reason or two you like that this character is your Commander?
She has the patience of a saint and is nearly impossible to rile, makes her an extremely good diplomat and calming presence for an Alliance full of former enemies.
3) What’s a reason or two you don’t like about them being Commander?
She feels obligated to solve all the galaxy’s problems (even without being asked) and has trouble taking a break and letting other people Save the Day™ so she doesn’t burn out.
4) Why did this character of all your OCs become Commander?
Equal parts bc she romanced Theron so I had to take her through SoR etc and bc I think she makes a damn good Commander.
5) Who did they side with? Did they stay loyal or go saboteur? Or maybe you headcanon they defect properly?
Republic all the way, baby. 😎 She did keep the Alliance independent; she’s too happy with/proud of what she’s built, and she doesn’t like how (relatively) easy it was for the Republic to fall under the sway of a de facto dictator(Saresh). Just bc Rans seems friendly and down to earth and all that doesn’t mean that danger is gone.
6) Are there any NPC’s from the class stories you’d like to see/HC join the Alliance? Ex: Master Timmns, Ardun Kothe, Watcher One, etc.
Aside from the ones I mentioned for Tel, Attros Finn, Chance, Crysta’s daughter(CANNOT remember her name to save my life rn), Beryl Thorne, Agent Galen, a couple of the Masters from Consular Act 1(maybe Tykan and Sidonie?), Master O’a.
7) How’s your OC feeling about the current Malgus situation?
She’s genuinely hoping it’s done, he’s beaten and not going to be a problem anymore. But they thought that after he was defeated(and supposedly killed) over Ilum*, and she’s all too familiar with the penchant powerful Sith have for coming back. There’s a small part of her, a part of her that’s very tired but still too Jedi to kill a “defenseless” prisoner that hopes if he tries anything again in the future he fights to the death.
*she did not handle the Ilum arc, so she heard Malgus was dead but wasn’t present to see it
8) Are any of your other OC’s part of the Alliance? If yes, what do they do for the Alliance? Do they get along with your Commander?
Yep. Her canon also has Briyoni(Trooper, the one to handle Ilum), who is her younger sister, for sure and tentatively: Eliyis(Inquisitor), Khii Mera(Smuggler), Deira,(also smuggler) and Qhora(Knight)
9) How does your OC feel about Odessen?
She loves it. With the strength of her connection to the Force, she’s very in tune with the balanced state of the planet and it gives her a sense of peace aside from that one valley that was the stuff of nightmares. She also thinks it’s a beautiful place, very scenic, and enjoys being tucked away from the rest of the galaxy.
10) How does your Commander feel about being the Commander?
It’s exhausting but she thrives on being able to help, to do things to make the galaxy better, so she loves it. Even if she is constantly tired and it has brought almost as much strife as joy. She’s a workaholic who doesn’t realize she’s a workaholic half the time bc she’s wrapped in the guise of people need me.
11) Favorite place in the Alliance base?
Her quarters, snuggled up on the couch with a hot drink, her Spy Husband, and a datapad she’ll more than likely fall asleep reading.
12) Favorite mission in KotFE?
I’m always going to love Disavowed more than anything, but Vica, as would be expected, loves ch 9 bc not only does she get reunited with Theron and officially start a relationship with him, it’s more heavily centered on the talking/personality/diplomacy things that are right up her wheelhouse. She can fight, she’s a badass(Kinetic Combat FTW), but she is a diplomat at heart, so stuff like interpersonal relationships is where she’s happiest.
13) Favorite mission in KotET?
Ch 4/5 bc it’s exploring a whole new world(even if that world is trying to kill her and all her friends, it’s still fascinating), with technology and such that they’ve never seen before.
14) Least favorite mission in either? Why?
Toss up between ch 12 and 15 in KotFE for her and ch 7 in KotET. She really hates Valkorion’s little “You’re not listening to me :(” getaway, but that Eternal Fleet ship was just awful (aside from getting to see Tai again, that’s was pretty neat). And again, with how strong she’s tied to the Force, Nathema was oppressive for her. It felt like a combination of being on the verge of throwing up and that dullness to your senses of recovering from a flashbang.
15) Is your Commander successful because they’re skilled? Or are they perhaps just really lucky?
In her case, honestly, I say as a biased parent talking about a favorite child, I’m pretty sure it’s all skill.
16) From our OC’s point of view, SoR -> KotET wasn’t a fun experience, did they develop any fears as a result?
People thinking she doesn’t have the galaxy’s best interests at heart. She spends years bending over backwards to help everyone she can however she can, so the whole thing in the Fractured Alliances arc with there being people who actually think she doesn’t care is awful and makes her worry there are others who feel the same way, that can’t have been all of them on Nathema.
17) AU time! If your Commander wasn’t Commander, which of your other OCs would have likely taken their place?
Assuming all the tentative characters stay in her canon, probably Qhora. Maybe Eliyis. I have some headcanon things for Bry where I need her to not be the Outlander for them to work.
18) Who’s someone your Commander hopes they never have to deal with again?
Aside from Valkorion? Kaliyo, Novo, Terrak Morhage, SCORPIO, Saresh, Atrius (the joys of being 100% LS; she didn’t kill anyone she was given the option to, no matter how awful they are, so she has a longer list of “never wanna deal with them again” than some)
19) Does your Commander hold on to/still use any titles they earned before KotET?
Oh, she still holds onto Barsen’thor. That one’s very tied to her identity as a Jedi and a defender of the good in the galaxy. She views it differently now; as an achievement and honor rather than a duty, but it’s still important.
20) Share something, anything at all, you want about your Commander that you’ve not really gotten the chance to share before but really want to.
She out of all my Theronmancers panicked the most at the end of Nathema Conspiracy bc she’s the only one with Z E R O healing abilities. Jaaide’s an Operative, Sha’reii’s a Sorc, Khii’s a Scoundrel. Vica’s a Shadow, she’s a tank, a defender, not a healer. (Or, well, wasn’t. Why do you think she wanted Sage for her second combat style?) So she, who has buried her identity and worth in her ability to help, was helpless in the face of losing the man she loved, and it was not fun.
She plays the vioflute and would say she’s a tad rusty right now, but she’s still good.

[Llevura and Talvini unpack Ildari being the Nerevarine following the events of Tribunal.]
Llevura arrived at Tel Galen and triggered the alarm rune at the door to alert the tower's mage-lord to her presence.
"It's Llevura," she called up the tower's shaft once she was inside.
"Oh, how nice! Come in!" Talvini called down to her.
She cast a levitation spell and floated up to the next level to meet her friend.
"Would you like some coffee?" Talvini asked. "I have a pot that's just about ready."
"That sounds lovely."
She sat down at the table while Talvini poured two mugs of coffee. Knowing Talvini, it was likely more than "just about ready." She had a tendency to forget about coffee she had brewing while she worked on her projects. It was sure to be nice and strong—and, thankfully, kept hot with magic.
"So, what brings you all the way to Vvardenfell?"
"Would you mind casting a rune?" Llevura asked. It was a phrase uttered between them enough that she knew Talvini would know what she meant: a rune to block any divine onlookers from perceiving potentially dangerous conversations. As soon as the request left her mouth, however, she realized how futile it would be. Still, it was a source of tenuous comfort, and so she let Talvini cast it anyway.
Talvini joined her at the table once the rune was cast and looked at her expectantly, with a hint of worry in her eyes. Of course she knew that Llevura would not have asked her to cast a rune if she did not have something important to talk about.
"The Nerevarine—Ildari—she's your granddaughter, isn't she?" Llevura asked.
Talvini took a sip of her coffee and nodded slowly, as though she had been expecting the question for some time.
"She is. But she doesn't know about me. She can't know about me yet," she said. "Do you remember the Ildari we knew in the Second Era? Ildari Melas, she called herself."
"Melas...like Faryn," Llevura said. She did remember her, at least vaguely, but she had not put it together before today. "Faryn, who raised your granddaughter. But, how is that possible?"
"Several years from now, she'll travel back to the Second Era," Talvini said. "I don't know the details, since it hasn't happened yet."
Llevura sat in thought for a few moments as she sipped at her coffee. It was no wonder Talvini—and Milia, when she was still alive—had grown so evasive over the years. They had a timeline to protect.
"So you've always known what she would become? What she would do?"
"We knew she would be the Nerevarine, and vaguely what that would entail," Talvini said. She looked more closely at Llevura with a question in her eyes. "I assume there's something I don't know?"
"I suppose so," Llevura said carefully. She wondered for a moment whether she should even tell Talvini what had happened, but as Ildari's ancestor, she should have some special rights. "Ildari may have killed both of our patrons."
Talvini set her mug down quickly, barely wincing as a few droplets splashed onto her hand, and leaned in.
"Sotha Sil and Almalexia are dead?" she asked. There was a mixture of incredulity and devastation on her face. Although her orthopraxy from her younger years had faded with age, there was no doubt that her gods still held a place in her heart. "And...Ildari...?"
"I don't know exactly what happened," Llevura said. "I'm still processing it all, myself. What I know is that Almalexia told Ildari that Sotha Sil had gone mad and had to be dealt with, and that Ildari might have to kill him. She sent her to the Clockwork City and followed her soon after, saying that she might need help. Too much time passed, and my colleagues and I all lost access to our divine-granted abilities, and then Ildari returned alone.
"The next day—yesterday—Ildari came back to Mournhold with Vivec. They spent some time with Fedris and Archcanon Gavas; I suspect they may have all gone to the Clockwork City to see to...the remains. Then, when they were done, Vivec addressed the Hands and confirmed that both ALM and SI were dead."
She steadied herself with another sip of coffee, letting the heat on her lips ground her. This was not the time for a breakdown; she had done that enough already.
"They haven't told us exactly what happened. If Sotha Sil had truly gone mad as we were told, then perhaps he killed Almalexia, and tried to kill Ildari, who defended herself. But—Three forgive me—I don't know if I believe that.
"Almalexia said that Sotha Sil released fabricants to attack Mournhold. But she went to the Clockwork City immediately before the attack. It is...possible, if unthinkable, that they coordinated the attacks together in order to lure Ildari to the Clockwork City, where they could face her together. I got the sense that Almalexia resented Ildari's role in Azura's prophecy, and maybe Sotha Sil felt the same, and they wanted to...remove her—if you'll forgive my coarse phrasing—but thought they would have a better chance if they teamed up against her.
"On the other hand, Almalexia had her reforge Nerevar's legendary blade before sending her to the Clockwork City. So maybe everything she said was true, and Sotha Sil was beyond reason." She sighed. "I shouldn't try to understand the intentions of a god."
Talvini, who had been listening intently for the whole explanation, her face difficult to read, simply asked, "How are you doing?"
"Honestly? Not great," she said with half a laugh as if it would help draw attention away from her pain. "I won't pretend I didn't notice their decline; Almalexia had been struggling to hold on for some time. And while I don't know exactly what happened when Ildari defeated Dagoth Ur, I do know it changed them. Still, I wasn't expecting something so drastic to happen so soon. I've been trying to process it on my own when I can, but it's hard to mourn someone I loved and devoted my whole being to when I have to act like she's not really gone."
Talvini nodded sympathetically. "How is Tilora doing?"
"Tilora doesn't know," Llevura said quietly, as if she could otherwise hear them all the way from Mournhold. "She noticed that something was upsetting me, of course, and she knows I can't tell her the details, so she might have some guesses. But she has her duties as a priest, and priests are generally not supposed to assume their gods are dead. She'll learn what happened soon enough, but in the meantime, I'm more or less on my own." She took another sip of coffee. "What about you? Sotha Sil was your patron. Are you okay?"
Talvini's eyes drifted far away, and she offered a pensive shrug. "I knew he would die sometime between the prophecies and Ildari's jaunt into the Second Era. I didn't know it would be immediately after the prophecies, and I certainly didn't know Ildari would be involved—or, could be involved, anyway." She brought her eyes back to the present. "It's a lot to unpack."
"It is," Llevura agreed.
"Maybe someday Ildari will tell us what really happened."
"Not sure I want to know," Llevura said. "On the other hand, guessing is worse."
Talvini raised her mug in solemn agreement. Her eyes floated into the distance once more. "The weight she was carrying...the whole time we knew her..."
"I can't imagine."
"Nor I. Poor thing." She snapped her eyes back to present and added, "I mean, assuming she didn't just murder them both in cold blood, but I highly doubt that's what happened."
Llevura shook her head. "No, I can't imagine that's what happened. She looked as devastated as I felt when she returned to Mournhold. Hers was not the face of a foul murderer."
"Good, I suppose," Talvini said. "I just wish I could offer her...anything. Instead, I have to keep pretending I don't exist."
"You'll see her again someday," Llevura said. "How old was she in the Second Era?"
"Thirties, forties? I expect it'll be in the next decade or so. Good thing I'm not going anywhere."
Llevura smiled. "Good thing, indeed. Hope I can say the same." Her smile faded slightly. "Everything is going to be very different, very soon. I'll admit I'm afraid of what our world might look like tomorrow, let alone in a decade. But I'm glad to have a friend I can talk to. Thanks for having me, Tal."
She stood up to leave, and Talvini joined her.
"You're welcome any time. It gets lonely out here in a tower that's blocked off from most prying eyes. Bit of a self-imposed loneliness, granted, but I enjoy the company nonetheless."
She offered a hug, and only in her friend's embrace did Llevura realize how much she needed it. It lasted a bit longer than one might have expected, but she hoped Talvini wouldn't mind. They did just lose their gods, after all.
When they finally let go, Llevura took a step back.
"Thanks again, Tal. See you soon," she said as she cast the recall spell to take herself home.

My husband bought me Tel Galen :’)
Lowkey freaking out, it’s been my ultimate dream home for Aryon since he’s existed alshafaldsjgqmllslaj. I’ve actually spent most of the day on Enobaria, building furnishings and hunting for plans and materials. But I’ve put what I had on hand in the house already, and the best part is his nix ox, who hangs out around back in the water, then comes around to the front before heading back to sprint through the back courtyard. It’s cute. Also I’ve decided he eats plankton? That’s why he likes the water so much? Idk it could work I guess
