me tengo que ir
ona batlle x reader
i’m honestly not quite sure what this is but i’ve been obsessed w me tengo que ir by karol g for the past few days and couldn’t get it out of my head
i doubt this makes ANY sense and i’m sorry that all the dialogue is in spanish but it felt weird for them to have this convo in english and so it’s all weird and spanglish-y but it’s just me being (slightly) tired of writing various other things and needing a mental break
[…]
Ona comes at night, covered by the darkness, comforted by the blanket it brings. It is black enough for her to look down and not see the red on her hands, not see the words spelled out in front of her. She chooses not to see the crime she has committed, but she knows that she is the one who created a law to break.
It was one thing to date a Madrid player while she wore black and red, safely tucked away in Manchester where she could support your enemy through the TV. It is another thing to continue the secret while she dons the jersey of your opposition, or vice versa.
And so, Ona comes at night.
Your family home, somewhere along the train tracks of Barcelona to Zaragoza, is unlit when her knuckles rap on its grand wooden door.
Once upon a time, seeing you would have set her heart ablaze. Her heart would race and her ears turn pink, and you’d laugh, call her sweet, maybe tease her for being so affected.
But now it is different, because Ona playing for Barcelona and you playing for Madrid is not the same as mysterious flights out to Manchester or extended stays in Spain. Is she embarrassed that two colours have come between you? Perhaps, but it is not like anyone will ever find out.
You don’t finish your greeting before Ona is kissing you. Halfway over the threshold of an old home and the dark outdoors, she cups your cheeks, your neck, the jut of your hips as you push yourself into her.
When her lips hit yours, tongue hungry, teeth unforgiving, you have to shut your eyes so that you do not cry.
You no longer feel anything.
Later, sweaty and lounging in bed, Ona’s smooth legs free themselves from the fabric of the bedsheets. You are just about to fall asleep, feeling alone although Ona is by your side, but you stir at the movement. At her restlessness.
Before, you struggled to convince her not to stay. You’d pry off clingy fingers and wandering hands, and then pack a suitcase with the added weight of an extra body hanging off your own. You would never let her miss her flight home – it was a mutually kept secret – but she would never be able to leave without saying the longest of goodbyes.
“Me tengo que ir,” Ona grants you as her feet hit the tiled floor of the guest bedroom, careful to not wake the dogs your parents have left you to look after while they visit your aunt in the city for the night.
“¿Ahora?” Your question remains practical for now, and you would like to keep it that way until the conversation crosses the line of breaking up. She dares to look you in the eye. “¿Cómo vas a llegar a casa?”
“En coche.”
“¿El coche de quien?”
“El mío,” she mutters. “Cupra Formentor.”
Ah.
A Barcelona car.
“Sabes que puedes dormir aquí, conmigo,” your question fails to fall into its category. It sounds more like an accusation and she prickles underneath the slight frustration in your tone.
“Eso no quiero,” comes Ona’s whispered response. “Puede que duermas conmigo, pero ya no te siento, bebé. Entonces, ya me tengo que ir.”
“No tienes que irte. Nunca tienes–”
“¡No fue suficiente!”
You both saw this coming a while ago. You were not privy to the calls she made, nor the contracts drafted to bring her home, but you sensed their existence and watched as the end of your relationship came hurtling towards you.
You let her get settled, even played your first match against each other in a sold-out stadium. You overlooked how her eyes would not meet yours as you lined up, and how she seemed to avoid the softness of your embrace until the very moment your Madrid colours were removed and you no longer were her enemy.
You are not sure how you became Ona’s enemy.
“Haré que sea suficiente. Podemos hacerlo suficiente juntas.” Ona watches as you gauge the severity of her words, watches as you surge upright and drop the sheets from your naked body in sheer desperation. “Tú me amas, y yo te amo. Ningún equipo de fútbol se interpondrá entre nosotras. Ningún compañero te pedirá que me dejes como si fueras Romeo y yo Juliet.”
Ona’s jumper is pulled over her head, the material rubbing away her tears. “Es un bonito cuento de hadas que me cuentas, pero esto no vale el cuento que me inventes.”
“Eres mi todo, Ona.”
“Vivimos como si no nos conocemos. Estamos grandes, bebé. Date un favor.”
“¡Era el secreto tuyo! De Alexia, de Mapi, de Leila.” Your voice breaks and you notice through the tears in your eyes that she is fully dressed and you are exposed like a worthless mistress in some medieval brothel, abandoned by her knight in shining armour and left to fend for herself. Which is absurd for you to feel, because you are not that kind of person and Ona should not be able to cause you this amount of devastation. “Era tu secreto y yo estaba de acuerdo porque te quer–”
She doesn’t let you finish. She doesn’t want to hear you say it. “No me voy sin dispedir, pero tú sabes que me toca ir.”
You think back to the turns you have taken. Left, right, dodging obstacles. Arguments, misunderstandings, pleas to be something proper – pleas from both sides. Moments in which someone else almost knew, was almost told… Was never told.
It reminds you of something someone once asked you. A stupid philosophical question sent into an awkward silence just to spark a conversation at a forgettable first date long before Ona and you ever considered sleeping together. If a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, does it make a sound?
If a relationship is born and dies, but no one knows about it, does it even exist? Does it matter, does it mean anything?
Ona looks so small against the high arch of the doorway separating her from her way out. Shoulders hunched, eyes barely managing to stay open, let alone meet yours that would get on their knees if they were able to.
You realise that you have taken so many turns that you have gotten lost. In doing so, one of you lost.
(You.)
And suddenly, you come to another realisation: life is tough. Life is tough and it sucks and girls like Ona will fuck you up as though a year and half is worth a lackluster three hours of sex and a watery goodbye that is more hurtful because neither side has the desire to fight any harder for the failing relationship you are holding onto.
Your words grow empty from where they linger in the air. Maybe they always were.
“Me tengo que ir,” Ona finally repeats, breaking the thoughtful silence. “Hay un partido mañana y… pues es tarde.” She catches your sentence before you speak it. “No me voy a quedar aquí. Ya no vamos a hacer esto. Vamos a dejarlo.” You nod. “Me vas a dejar, y yo, tú.”
“No me amas.”
“Tampoco fue que no intentamos.”
“Pero no me amas.”
Ona falters; she does not wish to tell a lie. But she is standing here, in your family home, and she does not want these walls to see your confusion tear you apart.
“No te amo.” Silence. “Ya me tengo que ir.”

Pedri via Residency - March 20, 2024
In his spare time he likes to be at home watching a series, playing Playstation or board games with his family
He wants to return as soon as possible but there is no specific return date or game. He wants to get back to 100% and enjoy the most important of the season with his teammates
If he would have to play in a different position he would choose goalkeeping because that's the position his dad played in
Will you watch the game against PSG? - "Como mínimo, eso..." (at the very least that)
He can't speak English very well but it's one of his personal goals to get better
He would like to be back for the Euros, the rest of La Liga and the UCL
He's not bad at goalkeeping but his height doesn't work in his favour
It was a shame that he couldn't play against Las Palmas because he was very excited to play against them and now, this season, he won't. But they've had a great season and he will have the opportunity to do so next season
Do you think you will score a goal in the UCL? - "I will 🤞"
He's better now, apart from recovery and gym work he takes maximum care of his diet and continues to do pilates and hyperbaric chambers
Most trips he has taken have been for games, but he doesn't think there is a better place than the Canary Islands (he's open for recommendations)
He often tries to learn a couple of German words from one of his friends
UCL with Barça or EUROs with Spain? - "Both"
Role Model? - "Iniesta"
He started playing football at 3 years old
He is not a coffee drinker
GOAT? - "Tú quién crees? Obviamente, Messi" (Who do you think? Obviously Messi)
He doesn't know any French
He would recommend visiting his hometown Tegueste in Tenerife
Favourite F1 driver? - Verstappen and Alonso (side eye from admin)
Lamine Yamal? - "Top player and humble kid!"

yknow, some questionable meta aside, i still vastly prefer morrowind having divayth fyr be present in it as a powerful respected rich ex-politician and entrepreneur and scholar, who also is a rotten person horrifically abusing his daughters and his patients and keeping them prisoner on the isolated island he calls home, and no one questions him and people blindly look up to him from afar, and the isolationist If Youre Powerful You Can Do What You Want politics of house telvanni further protect him, and his educated well-spoken gently eccentric persona further discourages people (including the player) from questioning him, and his own daughters isolated and manipulated as they are dont even know what to think about their own situation (and its awkward for them to even try to explain it), and because of his access to unique resources and information at some point in the main quest you have NO choice but to work with him if you want to survive/progress, and you have to confront all of that ugliness and decide what you want to do with it, if you even choose to notice it. the game doesnt punish you for not caring! why would it? has that not been the reality long before you ever got there? you can just get what you want from him and walk away, or you may remain angry and frustrated at your helplessness, because you know that you don't stand a chance against him and his magic he spent centuries and endless resources to hone, and there is no one with any incentive or authority to confront him. you may stay rightfully furious that this situation will not change just as it hasnt changed in so long, just as so many sickening things about the status quo on vvardenfell are way beyond your power as an individual to change. OR, if you're powerful enough--or if you come back later, having trained for this moment--you can simply take matters into your own hands, knowing this is the only way for the man to face any consequences, and get rid of the fucker once and for all. because he is, for all his pride and might, Possible To Kill. and you get cool armor out of it. so then how is it rare just kill him etc. do you see how compelling a narrative this is? both the maddening helplessness at the injustice you witness--a recurring thing in the game--and the catharsis of killing fyr? Do You Understand.
i vastly prefer all of the above to just retconning the whole thing, either ignoring it or clumsily trying to rewrite fyr into this quirky but totally harmless old man for the sake of Hey Remember This Guy. i understand not everyone likes the tone of morrowind and id be a complete fool to say it doesnt fall into a ton of pitfalls regarding many subjects and themes it tackles, but if thats the case, i really think eso was lame as hell for bringing back divayth fyr and stripping him of all that context. was it worth it? is the addition of divayth fyr to eso really that good? was the shallow "oh omg this guy was in morrowind" aspect worth it? i dont think so. and that fathers day joke was foul and we all know it

Coach’s Daughter
Tumblr media
Summary: Reader is a coach’s daughter.
Author’s Note: I gave Diego a random ass number lmao. Also, no hate to no sabo kids. Also, maybe a multipart series?
Your dad was a very valuable man in the football community, especially Mexico. Football and Mexico ran in his veins like crazy. His passion was unlike any other, which is why the Mexican Selection team needed him. Everyone was sure he would guide Mexico into a new season of triumph and success.
Unfortunately for you, that meant you had to leave everything you knew in America and move to Mexico. Sure, you had a lot of love for Mexico. After all, it was quite literally your mother’s and father’s land. But, America was your home, you had been here for two decades. All your friends and family were here, so you weren’t super excited to leave everything behind just so your dad could teach a bunch of men how to play football.
Your father sensed your sadness and decided the best way to make it up to you was to bring you to work with him. Maybe his love and passion would rub off on you and you would finally understand that this was a good thing.
“Hijita, por favor, I don’t want you to be sad anymore.” Your dad begged as he kept his eyes on the road. You sighed, staring out the passenger side window. You two were on your way to the team’s practice.
“I know papa, but you know I don’t even like football.” It was true, you weren’t interested at all. He sighed at your response as he parked the car.
“Okay but, please just be nice to my players. And don’t worry about speaking Spanish, they all understand English.” You nodded as you both exited the car and headed to the trunk. Your father passed you a few orange cones and he slung a mesh bag of dozens of soccer balls behind his back and you both made your way to the open field.
In the distance you saw a group of men and when they noticed your dad, they instantly cheered and ran up to greet him. They hugged him and shook his hand before turning their attention to you. Nothing is as uncomfortable as millions of eyes staring at you, especially when those eyes belong to the most gorgeous men you’ve ever seen.
“Amigos, esta es mi hija, (Y/N).” Your father said in Spanish, introducing you.
“Mucho gusto, déjame ayudarte con esos conos.” A man with curly hair and gloves said, reaching out his hand. You noticed the number 13 on his uniform. (translation: nice to meet you, let me help you with those cones)
“Umm. Hello?” You said in an unsure manner, reaching out to shake his hand. If you were being completely honest, your spanish was horrid. You hated to admit it but you were a bit whitewashed. The man looked at you with furrowed eyebrows but smiled a little.
“¿Que, no español?” He chuckled, sending a look towards your father. Your father sighed, as if he was disappointed at your lack of bilingual skills. (What, no spanish?)
“Yes, about that. My daughter has spent all her life in America so please try to speak to her in English,” Your dad announced to the team as he placed both of his hands on your shoulder.
“Hopefully this time in Mexico will do some good for her Spanish, right?” He asked, looking down at you, shaking you slightly as you nodded in agreement. God this was so awkward.
Every football player took turns shaking your hand and greeted you in English. Well almost every football player except number 18. He shook your hand and proudly greeted you in spanish. He was absolutely beautiful. His caramel skin and hazel eyes left you red and flabbergasted.
The whole time you sat on the bench watching the team, you couldn’t keep your eyes off him. When practice was over, you said your goodbyes to the team and began walking to the car with your dad.
“¡Espera, tus conos!” You heard a voice yell behind you. Your dad chuckled as number 18 handed you the orange cones you accidentally left behind. (Wait, your cones!)
“Gracias, Dieguito.” Your dad thanked him, Diego smiled at him and then at you. He flashed his perfect teeth, and you couldn’t help but blush.
“Si, gracias,” you said, trying your best not to present your American accent.
He smirked and before jogging back to his teammates he said, “You’re welcome, American girl.”
I literally wrote this in like an hour because I was so desperate for any writing posts with football players. Lord knows how feral this world cup is making me.

If you, like Brian David Gilbert, have read all the books in Skyrim and found yourself wanting more, here's a modlist for you!
First off, some places to get books:
And now one for font variations:
Now for the books themselves:
Magpie has more book mods, including and AIO, but be really cautious of the warnings on the Adult Lit mod:
There is also ESO Books, but tumblr is a punk and only allows for 10 links
And finally, for those who want to wear what they read:
Keep in mind, you will need to remake any bashed patches after installing these to make sure they all show up for sale!

The background is actually supposed to be an inn room in the Ebony Flask in Ebonheart. The one you can have as a player home in ESO. ^^

interested in yr starfield take. played a lot of skyrim as a teen as one does but am not per se a bethesda fan and am mostly bemused by how little i have seen anyone talking about starfield either way in my social circles
well listen this with the important distinction that I am a Bethesda fan. Todd wrapped his chess-master's hands around my throat as a child and has not let go, so perhaps it's me that is biased, but I've been asking for years for a Starfield-esque game and I will not complain now that they've given it to me.
The critical like friction point I think with Starfield and mainstream gaming is that it's an FPS that isn't an FPS. I rarely had to actually fight outside of space flight mechanics. Most plot-based fights could be avoided with a keen enough charisma-or-whatever-space-equivalent skill. I think overall Starfield's flaw was Cyberpunk's flaw in a much more professional setting: it didn't commit enough to what it wanted to do, and by doing so added some watered down stuff that didn't work. Starfield wanted to be an exploration game: No Man's Sky, Garden of the Sea, something that's focused on studying the flora and fauna.
But also they doubled down on settlement building, something that people only wanted to use to make themselves home bases in Fallout 4 and otherwise didn't enjoy as a method of resource management (unless there was some bethesda forum silent majority: generally I gauge whether something is broadly popular or unpopular by asking my brother if it annoyed him dsfkjhds). And then also there was combat, but not just the ship combat which was the real novelty, but also base level FPS combat? But only sometimes.
And then of course there were the procedurally generated worlds which everyone knew immediately was not going to work, because No Man's Sky had already fumbled that hurdle. Bethesda narrative structure is not suitable for random distribution: they excel with specific and focused quest lines in limited, fleshed out locations (ie Shivering Isles, particular abandoned Vault side quests in Fallout 3, Rivenspire in ESO) and become overly generic and repetitive once they remove that element (all the busywork in Skyrim, all the backtracking in Starfield).
This is a problem with a lot of AAA video games as time goes on because...they don't want to commit to genre. What if someone doesn't like that genre? Then they won't buy the game. And it's gotten to the point where games are starting to flop because the mechanics are so broadly generalized and bloated that even the interesting stuff isn't relevant enough to do more than annoy players. I love scanning things in Starfield, I loved scanning them enough that they were fully researched, I loved finding different planets with variations on gravity...but there was literally no reason to explore. There could have been: I was in a guild of explorers. They could have done so much to make it worth my while to explore planets, but instead it was a radiant quest that I didn't even get the first time I played.
I've asked for a long, long time for a video game where my core purpose was not "bloodthirsty fighter itching to kill something with a gun or several guns or a knife or a sword murder kill death death death I don't understand magic I just want to cull my enemies". I hate playing ESO and getting treated like a barbarian in every interaction. I hate being railroaded into being a combat marine in Mass Effect (and was thrilled when Andromeda gave me cool biotics like everyone else got except for Shepard even if Shepard was a biotics class). I want class variation, even if we need to take money away from fidelity and put it into narrative so I can have someone treat me like I'm not a complete drooling neanderthal even if I specifically pick a magic or stealth class.
Starfield gave me that. I was able to pick dialogue options that reflected my skills. If I had points in geology, I could reassure Barrett that the story that the mining company fed him about his husband's misconduct was implausible. I could scold people for improper storage and care of relics even without sinking any particular skills. I could choose to be in religious awe of the relic visions, I could choose to be scientifically fascinated by them, I could choose to be power hungry about them. It's the most flexibility that's ever been allowed in a Bethesda game that I've ever played, and combat was so unfocused that I frequently forgot that fighting was even an option.
I really liked building my ship. I liked that it was a bit of a puzzle when it came to connecting things. The UI was awful and there wasn't much of a tutorial, but I said already that I'm a Bethesda fan. I liked ship combat once I got the hang of it, I liked the act of flying the ship around space. A lot of people said "Starfield gets really good...twelve hours in har har har" which I don't think is strictly fair. Starfield gets good once you figure out how to do stuff and use stuff the way it's supposed to be done and used.
Overall I think Starfield was a really positive experiment in trying something new with the FPS genre. Not everything worked which is grounds for a mass murder-suicide when it comes to how level-headedly gamers react to things that are really popular that they're just not clicking with (seriously I think a lot of problems in the game industry could be at least alleviated if we unlocked the 'just because you want to like it does not mean a fundamental right of yours is being violated if you don't' skill tree), but I like that a company the size of Bethesda is still kind of trying new things. Some quests REALLY hit me in the face: there's one where you're hunting down a relic and find a permeable reality where you have to decide to canonize one particular timeline over another, which involves a lot of switching through timelines in order to advance through to the next room. That was incredible, and meant so much more to me than any generic fetch quest. Grinding mechanics are difficult: not all players like to grind, but if you leave off grinding altogether then it becomes more complicated to balance for difficulty, especially if your goal is to present specific challenges to your player.
Anyway I thought Starfield was fun, I thought the story was good, I think fidelity is overrated, I think that many problems with video games would be solved by carefully integrated accessibility features, and I watched multiple videos criticizing Starfield for things that have always been true across Bethesda games (ie "why do guards know I've stolen and what I've stolen between different planets" because that's how Bethesda has always handled theft mechanics, maybe you just don't like Bethesda games and don't have an immutable human right to frictionlessly play and enjoy every video game that your friends are also playing (not YOU anon just the general you)). There's plenty of things to criticize but at this point I think some people just start nitpicking for nitpicking's sake. It's okay that some people didn't like it. They don't have to, but much like not liking something doesn't make it evil, not liking something also doesn't make it bad.
Overall though I'm not surprised that no one has heard much about it: it ran terribly without many options outside of modding to fix that issue. Maybe things are different over on Reddit, but I'm willing to wager that a lot of PC gamers have outdated systems. I said it about Cyberpunk and I'll say it here too: it's nice that your NASA computer can run one billion fps with high detail shadows and 4K reflections. Mine needs to be able to turn that shit off or else I just can't play your game.
As far as what you haven't heard about the main plot, I'll say this: it's a very, very interesting twist on infinite replayability. Nothing is truly infinitely replayable, but Starfield makes a very bold and frankly fascinating leap into how to achieve such a thing, to the point where before I found the ending I was like "it would have been better to redirect resources from x to the ending in order to achieve this insane thing" and while it's not perfect, I was SHOCKED that they just...literally do. It's so fascinating that I'm kind of surprised that no one talked about it.

Annie: bosmer necromancer, has elaborate argument about how this relates to the Green Pact, really into the Dark Brotherhood, has a pet guar and many intricately decorated houses, usually has Mirri as companion
Troy: khajiit warden, jumps around a lot, cries at plots that get too intense, collects as many pets as possible, loves Tales of Tribute, usually has Ember as companion, occasionally gets excited about player homes and gets lots of furniture only to abandon plans, big crush on Fennorian
Abed: argonian arcanist, loves the Antiquarian Circle, reads all lorebooks, switches between Azandar and Sharp-As-Night for companions, has pet gryphon, has a few well planned out player homes, visually stims in Ceporah Tower

this dude was made using the Sarpa - Beyond Skyrim: Argonia mod. for those that don't know, Argonians also have different subspecies like the Khajiit. bird-like Argonians are called Sarpa (they're an ESO creation, they never existed before that). I think this is a fan interpretation of how they'd look like and I think it's super cool. His name is Steals-Your-Spoons. fore roleplay purposes I am obligated to steal any spoon I come across. I won't be actively looking for them but I will have a drawer in one of my player homes that's just crammed with spoons because this name decided to come to me while showering lol. in combat, he's gonna be a frontline archer that uses summons and followers to tank instead of being a stealth archer because we've all played that style to death. this mod actually added an acrobatic archer playstyle that's really cool. you know that backflip scatter arrow move you can do in Dragon Age: Inquisition? yea that's possible here with this mod

Kanaheda the bosmer. initially I planned on making her a stealth mage since the mod's new perk system allows for a stealth mage playstyle by giving magic attacks sneak damage......but then while messing with the CC I realized I could give her glowing body tattoos and then the plan changed. she's now a naked brawler. she literally just runs in there shrieking beating people into paste with her fists. cuz I wanna see the tats lol. this is supported cuz this mod brings back the Unarmored skill from Morrowind and the Hand-to-Hand skill from Daggerfall/Morrowind/Oblivion.
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Titania the breton. based her on my favorite paladin from the Fire Emblem series: Titania from Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn
Tumblr media Tumblr media
while in the overworld, I'll ride around on the horse and swing my axe around to replicate the FE cavalier playstyle. obv in dungeons and stuff I'll have to stick to being on foot but that's fine cuz I love the new battleaxe animations in this mod. very meaty
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Zenandrayda the dunmer. initially made her to be the stealth archer but since the new combat mechanics are more similar to Elden Ring I just decided to be a weapon + shield knight sort of character with her. 100% because I found this purple shield lmao. she also sprinkles in some illusion magic before fights.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh and this mod adds bladestaffs to the game. they literally have the same moveset as staves do in Dragon Age 2/Inquisition
youtube
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Zen-Ma will be a pure mage most likely. her armor is the Ancient Argonian Armor made by 4thUnknown. I fell in love with this armor the moment I saw it. massive Twilight Princess Fused Shadow vibes + I love that Argonians get some love cuz they're probably my favorite race in the series
Tumblr media
it doesn't come across in screenshots but the lights glow in and out (just like the Fused Shadow lol)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Zenaida the redguard. might go back in the CC and change her body tattoos. the armor below is 4thUnknown's Mythic Dawn Armor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also made 2 Khajiit, a male Bosmer, and an Imperial lady but I don't have any screenshots of them. the character creator is insane so I'm probably gonna make like 20 more characters. the CC even has a sculptor feature so if you have the patience you can literally mold your character however you want.

Here I was in Paris, with Stay With Me by Sam Smith blasting, crying my eyes out over my boyfriend—my cheating ass ex-boyfriend that I wasted seven years of my life on. Best of all, he had an affair with my best friend. ex-best friend now. Fuck my life. "Stay with me!" I sang along with Sam, but right before he started to harmonize with my broken heart, it became silent.
I rose up, resting my body on my elbows, and saw Antonella standing with my phone in her hand and a bottle of Casamigos in the other. "How dare you turn off Sam!" I sniffled, and before I knew it, Heartless by The Weeknd came on.
"Never need a bitch; I'm what's needs!" Anto sang, passing the bottle of casamiago my way. I took a huge gulp, my face twisting up as I passed it back to her. Watching her put the bottle to her lips for another swig as she continued dancing to The Weeknd's "Heartless," I couldn't help but laugh. Anto was always the life of the party, never afraid to let loose and have a good time. Despite the chaos that often surrounded her, she had a way of making everything feel right in the moment.
It wasn't long before Georgina came into our room. "You need to get over him!" She yelled, pulling me up from the bed and carefully wiping away the fresh tears on my cheeks, curtesy of Mr. Smith. I knew she was right, but it was easier said than done. Despite everything, I still couldn't shake off the feeling that he was the one for me.
"How do you get over sharing your life with someone for six years?" I sniffled,
"By getting under another, especially if they cheated on you, Mia." Anto cheered, wrapping her arm around my neck and pulling me in for a hug.
"Anto—"
"She's right, Mia; you were always out of his league." Georgina chimed in, saying that from the first time they met him, they never liked him. I guess they tolerated him because of the mask I became a pro at wearing after a while. But now, as I looked at them with tears in my eyes, I realized how much their support meant to me. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, and I finally felt free to be myself again. "And that other bitch is going to get what's coming to her."
"Eres una persona demasiado increíble y hermosa para que esos idiotas te toquen, Mimi." Anto said sweetly, pressing her lips to the side of my head. While Georgina held my hands in comfort.
Both Georgina and Antonella have been in my life for almost a decade now. I met Anto first through work. I'm an interior designer and was recommended through a mutual friend when she and Lio were in need of redecorating one of their homes in Spain. Naturally, Anto and I bonded over our love for archaeological digest. Probably two years into our friendship, Anto introduced me to George, and the rest is history.
They were romantically involved with the top players in professional soccer, and to say that their lives were over the top would be an understatement. I befriended them because of who they were as people, not because of who their significant others were; they were both just amazing women to be around. If anything, I'm most likely the only one in the friend group who doesn't have a social media anything—other than for work, of course.
Long story short, they were my girls, and as everything went down between Mason and me in New York, I called Anto, who added Gigi to the call. Next thing I knew, I was on the next flight to Paris, with Gigi arriving two hours later and already planning for my revenge. "We need to post a PSA." Georgina smirked, pulling her phone out of her clutch.
"I'm wearing the dress you brought; isn't that enough?" I whined, but Gigi just rolled her eyes.
"No, we need to let everyone know that cheating is not okay and that we stand by our girl," she said, typing furiously on her phone.
Anto chimed in, "And we need to make sure that Mason knows he messed with the wrong group of women. Now pose, baby girl!" Anto cheered, standing next to Gigi. I smiled, feeling grateful for their support.
"I don't even have any socials; this is pointless; it's not like anyone's honing to see this." I sassed with my hand on my hip.
"Oh, trust me, people will see it," Gigi replied with a mischievous grin. "¿Podrías posar?" Gigi ordered and groaned already, knowing it was better to listen or else she'd find a way to turn a single shot into a photo shoot. "Got it!" She smiled, "Now let's go party ladies!"

After having dinner with the girls, Lio Anto's husband wouldn't stop blowing up our phones and telling us to meet him and the guys at a new rooftop bar that just opened up downtown in Paris. I was still trying to figure out who added him to our group chat. Knowing him, he probably added his ass from Anto's phone without her knowing, and of course we gave in. In our friend group, everyone knew that when Lio and Anto secured the babysitter, it was sure to be a wild night out, and getting blackout drunk was at the top of my list tonight.
As we all arrived at the club, the music was already blasting and the dance floor was packed. I couldn't wait to let loose and forget about all my worries for the night.
Once we arrived, it was a paparazzi frenzy outside the club. I had no idea how they dealt with them constantly knowing where they were at every waking minute. As we were escorted safely in, the music was already blasting and the dance floor was packed. Lio and a few other guys were in the VIP area when we got there. These guys were obviously already a few drinks ahead of us.
When Lio noticed Anto, he came over to greet her and us. "I heard there was a party going on." He smiled and motioned for us to join him. We followed him to a table where the other guys were sitting.
"You piss me off," Georgina sassed crossing her arms over her chest. Here we go, it wouldn't be a normal get together if Gigi and Lio never went at each others necks.
"Ve a llorar con tu madre, ¿vale? You're just jealous because I'm obviously her favorite now, Gigi." He laughed as she rolled her eyes. "Isn't that right, Mimi?" Lio smiled, hanging his arm around my shoulder, while I shook my head in amusement.
"Babe, we spoke about this." Anto chimed in, taking his shot from his fingers and quickly knocking it back. "Mia is our best friend." She said pointing at herself and Gigi.
"I don't see either of you getting her the best spot in one of the hottest clubs in Paris. Not to mention I brought her options to choose from." He said this, waving his hand towards his friends. I peered over his shoulder, and he damn sure wasn't lying. The only one I recognized was Sergio; the other two were new faces, but they all looked equally stylish and confident as the rest of our group. I couldn't help but feel a little intimidated, but I didn't want to show it. After all, I was there to have a good time and make some new friends.
"You're unbelievable, Lionel." Gigi laughed as she made her way over to greet the guys.
"It's good to see you again, Mia." Lio said to me, smiling warmly.
I returned the smile, feeling a little more at ease. "It's good to see you too, Lio. Who are your friends?" I asked, trying to sound casual. Lio introduced me to the two new guys,
"This is Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. They're both professional race car drivers." I was impressed and a little intimidated, but I tried to hide it. "I know how much you like fast cars and whatnot. So I thought you might enjoy meeting them," Lio said with a grin. As if silently confirming his spot in the group chat chain. I didn't know how much Lio actually paid attention during our conversations; not even Anto and Gigi knew of the hots I had for both of these men. But now that they were standing in front of me, I couldn't deny the attraction. I needed to play it cool, now that I can do. Hopefully.
Charles and Lewis both smiled warmly. "Nice to meet you both," I said, extending my hand for a handshake. Charles and Lewis both smiled and greeted me with a kiss on both cheeks, which caught me off guard.
Serigo soon came over, giving me a bear hug per usual, "Mama Mia!"
"I missed you too, Sergi." I smiled.
"Anto told me what that fucker did, and with your best friend of all people—"
"Sergio, she's here to feel better, not reminisce." Anto snapped, dragging me to her side.
His eyes widened as he reached down, picking up two shots from the table. "Right, right, sorry, how about a shot?" He said, hand one to Anto and me. "It'll help you forget about that asshole" He added as he poured one for the others.
I raised my glass and said, "Let's toast to new beginnings. To tonight." We clinked our glasses together and downed the shots, feeling a warmth spread through our bodies.
"It's your single party; you need to take another for good luck, Mia." Sergio smiled, passing me another shot.
I smiled, deciding to go for it. "Fuck it, one more won't hurt," I said, grabbing the shot glass and raising it up. "To new beginnings," I repeated before downing the second shot as they all cheered me on.

Dad just sidled into my room looking shifty and mumble-asked if there were apps to learn how to play dnd without having to play with six strangers etc and I hated to tell him all I had was a player's handbook but also lol he's on episode 29. He started at 24. Pretty quick turnaround time to fall down the slope of wanting to play. He's been coming home and making new skyrim ESO characters to scratch the itch.

"ESO": Porting Home via Stream Deck
I'm that chuffed about how this turned out, I thought I'd try sharing a little 'how-to' for easily porting between multiple homes in The Elder Scrolls Online, using a Stream Deck and the Port to Friend's House addon by "Sordrak".
Tumblr media
You'll need the following:
a Stream Deck
Super Macro addon by BarRaider (Windows only) for Stream Deck
Port to Friend's House addon by "Sordrak" (available via Minion) for ESO
Setup part 1: "Port to Friend's House"
Start by installing the addon (ideally before loading Elder Scrolls Online), then load a character in and type the command "/ptf open"† to access its housing menu.
†⚠️ If you, like me, are primarily a gamepad user: you may wish to switch to keyboard UI before doing this, else analogue stick input in particular can get confused.
Tumblr media
Check you're looking at the add-on's 'My Houses' tab, which will list all the homesteads you own. What you need to do is pick out your favourite homes, decide whether you'll want to teleport to the inside or outside, and assign each one a number between 1 and 10. You set each numerical ID using dropdown menus to the left of the 'Port Inside' and 'Front Door' buttons in this menu.
For example: I gave the interior of Doomchar Plateau ID #5, while the exterior of Coldharbour Surreal Estate has ID #3.
Setup part 2: Keybindings
The add-on already allows you to port to each of your homes by entering text commands, but keybindings or hotkeys are a bit more straightforward for our purposes. Head for the 'Controls' menu in ESO, and look under 'General' for 'Port to Friend's House':
Tumblr media
Note that you're given separate entries for each of your chosen houses, depending on whether you would be teleporting inside them or to the front door.
Bind shortcuts where you need them, but do bear in mind: ⚠️ if you wish to use combo keys like 'Ctrl', 'Shift' and 'Alt', you should consider unbinding them from the basic keyboard controls for crouching, sprinting, and opening the character menu. That's easy enough for us gamepad players, but keyboard users in particular may want to consider binding something like the function keys (F1–F12) instead.
Setup part 3: Stream Deck
Now all we need to do is set up buttons on our Stream Deck which enter those key combinations for us. I did this using the Super Macro extension, which allows us to enter command functions like so:
Tumblr media
You can find the full list of functions here, but for hotkeys like ours, we're mainly interested in the list of simple keyboard commands like '{{CTRL}}', '{{f10}}', or '{{VK_4}}', and concepts like '{{KeyDown}}' and '{{KeyUp}}'.
To explain by way of example:
{{KeyDown:CTRL}}{{KeyDown:ALT}}{{VK_4}}{{KeyUp:CTRL}}{{KeyUp:ALT}}
... simulates keypresses for holding 'Ctrl' and 'Alt', pressing number key '4', and then releasing 'Ctrl' and 'Alt'.
⚠️ If I didn't use the 'KeyDown' and 'KeyUp' commands, and instead tried simply 'Ctrl' and 'Alt', the macro would treat those as buttons being pressed in sequence rather than as part of a combination. That's not an issue if you are binding single button hotkeys like F1–F12, though. Just something to keep in mind.
Quest Complete: Finishing Touches
That's it! All that remains is to ensure you have ESO in focus (you can move your character around), and press your new Stream Deck button to give it a test.
Of course, you also have opportunity to attach some nice photos of the home in question, to serve as a visual aid.
Tumblr media
Have fun adapting this to your own preferences, and having your crafting centres and warehouses a mere button-press away!

Current Activities in ESO #6
Had to dig for this one. Like Warframe, my last ESO related post was way back in 2014.
My #2 post states my own brother dropped 95$ on the game. 2014 was before I ever ever employed. Jesus.
The origins of Dibbe are revealed. I do remember her still being a dark elf, I still have a screenshot of her as a level 46 being stuck in Coldharbor which eventually drew me away from the game for years after. (I didn't know the guy I had to talk to was just hanging out in the Fighter's Guild there). I've had a pale argonian before on previous games but they were named differently.
Tumblr media
Ancient Dibbe. She's hideous!
My number 5 post basically precedes me quitting the game. Couldn't find my #1 or #4 post.
All of that long before the One Tamriel update. Came back to the game some time ago and all of my problems are basically gone. Leveling still feels just a tad sluggish. 3-10 are usually pretty easy but up into the 40's feels like a slog. Generally one of my better methods is counter to what I usually do on MMO's and I level up as a tank or healer for quicker dungeon queues and just bank on that chunk of experience at the end of them.
After becoming unemployed again I will say that my lack of the craftbag drew me away from the game for a long time. However I've developed something of a system regarding that. I am still painfully selling off some of the harder-to-get materials like runes, but I'm collecting stacks of the more common stuff in my bank. Presumeably to be sold on a guild trader at a later occasion. That way I can still dismantle stuff and it will have a purpose later.
My gaming loop has mostly revolved around collecting decent sets for my various alts. I'm not good at making gold passively, mostly just selling motifs that I get randomly. I keep being told that writs are the moneymaker but that's only a few grand at a time. I wonder if they refer to those master writ you get as rewards sometimes because those typically sell well if you're lucky to get the ones that reward a lot of vouchers. But those aren't guaranteed either.
Dib, my main, is on the cusp of crafting mastery so generally she can craft a couple of decent sets for fresh alts but crafting sets are usually for the beginning. Overland and dungeon sets tend to be improved, so part of my gaming loop is the slow grind of transmutation stones so I can make shit there as well. However a big hurdle there now is without my subscription, I'm now locked out of 80% of the DLC dungeons. I have a few, but I thought dungeons came with the zones that they were released with. I was incorrect. Turns out, ESO content is released quarterly. So I've bought a few zones (I'm missing the Reach which makes me sad because I love that zone and Murkmire, which I don't have much of an opinion on but now I can't make the grave-stake set which I've had fun with in the past).
And I certainly need to keep playing the game because if I run out of gold, it usually means I can't outfit my characters! Transmogging doesn't cost much but still. Gold doesn't make itself.
And then I spend my nights roleplaying. I feel the cusp of a sort of golden age of roleplay for me personally, especially regarding my main girl Dib. I've recently developed a "radiant" quest system. Around 8 of my houses are decorated and can be used for various stealth activities. For most of them (I lose out on decor slots without a sub) I can place a variety of those Precursor dummies, little bland robots that can act as like DnD figurines to represent npc's and enemies (not to mention a few houseguests, I can have up to like 15 npc placements if the decor slots allow). I've put this in practice twice now with a few different people and it's really fun. For the smaller homes it also doesn't even take very long, so it can be used for a thief-to-thief RP meet and greet.
I joined the OG <The Thieves Guild>, a player has owned that tag since 2016 but they're recently staging a revival. It still has a pretty small core right now, about four to five of the same faces have attended the last few events.
I generally, absolutely, detest tavern RP as a general rule but I will resort to it when I'm bored or want to watch a podcast or streamer on the side. However a few nights ago a marshland tavern was opened up in Blackwood, where Dib got to meet a lot of her own kind for once.
As an aside: Not that Argonians don't frequent the current RP hub in Evermore, but I spend most of my time in Evermore wallflowering with nobody deeming my character interesting enough to approach. That or the fact that they're all usually up their own asses to greet newcomers. I had Dib try to contribute to a "never have I ever" and she was never directly replied to once. It felt like four people had me on ignore for no reason.
But in Blackwood, everything felt pretty organic. I dressed Dib down from her usual shady attire from this;
Tumblr media
To the more approachable this;
Tumblr media
So either she was more approachable or the energy of the room let to my own Dib having more incentive to interact. A friend even came along and instead of being attached to the hip we would interact, break off to mingle, swing back to each other, and break off again. Like a real party! There was one particular player whom I didn't know very well who seemed to attach herself to Dib's side but it didn't detract too much. It was a great night. Dib is pretty sure she almost got jumped by a couple of Khajiit because she openly purchased a tome of daedric lore right there in the open. She detracted an imperial priest's claim that she is so clearly a shady sneaker.
Tumblr media
"...Charming."
I've posted that around in some discords I'm in but I can't help it. I almost died laughing at my computer. I'm even unclear if he bought it or not but she cut real close about openly admitting daedra worship (she's a Nocturnal simp) but I feel like she managed to pull way from it.
While unemployed I'm generally making an effort to pop in relevant RP events I see scheduled in the various discords I'm in. And I do say relevant. I almost attended a pet show, I wanted to bring a small guar that Dibbe named "Lump" and would emote the fact that there was nothing special about it and that she likely just picked it out of a field somewhere. "This is lump he's wonderful" (this Guar isn't special at all). I decided to go for some other open RP in someone's household. I acquired secondhand knowledge that there was no "show" to begin with. People just brought along pets and everyone just walked around to talk about them. Would still have been funny to have Dibbe and Lump just hanging out in the corner somewhere.
Anyway I've been working on this post for an hour with Dib waiting for me in the background to do a Jester Festival quest.

Well, I did it. I went back and played Skyrim’s big DLC campaigns, and thankfully I finished it before 2024. I’ve got some thoughts, and many of them are negative.
But first, some background.
I got Skyrim around launch after getting an XBOX 360 for Christmas when my college roommate shocked the world by dropping out. A friend of mind recommended Skyrim, and it was my first Elder Scrolls game and first big RPG (aside from Two Worlds, which barely ran on the family PC and therefore doesn’t count). I loved it, as many did in those days, because it was a pretty big deal in 2011.
I would later get Hearthfire (it was the cheapest) and I liked that a lot, too. I miss that character, actually, and his home in Falkreath (RIP Gunnar, I wish I could export your save). I wanted to try Dawnguard and Dragonborne, but it wasn’t to be. I ended up with a copy on PC in 2016 or so and I tried to play through it again, but once I played Witcher 3 I just couldn’t tolerate Skyrim anymore. The reasons are numerous and they’ll come up later.
Recently, I moved my PS4 to my wife and I’s bedroom to facilitate our transition from streaming services to physical media. When we met I had her try Skyrim, her first video game experience like that ever, and it was very funny, so when I bought the PS4 I got handful of games for her to try if she wanted to get better (she would latch on to ESO, by the way), and Skyrim was one. This seemed like a good time to finally get through the DLC that I hadn’t had a chance at.
So, I’ve done it. I did the main quest, the civil war, then Dawnguard and Dragonborne.
The early hours were fun as a nostalgia trip. It had been years, and the rose colored glasses were in full force. But, that didn’t take long to wear off, and I can safely say that Skyrim, while it was revolutionary in 2011, absolutely does not hold up.
It’s ugly, the gameplay is bad, every system is completely mediocre, and the voice acting is poorly directed. The writing is just awful, the quests are forgettable, and it’s mismanaged.
Skyrim has been released on every console since launch and yet some bugs remain. Others have been fixed by modders (for free). There have been no improvements at any level since 2011, with some huge and even game breaking bugs untouched.
This part of the experience frustrates me the most. I hate that I have to rely on unpaid community labor to make this game playable. And, speaking of the community, let’s talk about paid mods and the creation club.
It sucks.
More specifically, it sucks to charge for mods (whose creators were likely not fairly compensated for their work), and it sucks that Sony doesn’t allow custom assets, but it ALSO sucks to bundle mods with the game. Why? Well, because a lot of modded content is only good because it’s a freely available labor of love, but once it becomes an inseparable part of the game it has problems. This is most evident with Saints and Seducers, a mod that’s outrageous and stupid.
In short, Saints and Seducers adds new bandit enemies, items, and pets. But it was clearly made by fans, not professionals, because it commits the cardinal sin of ignoring gameplay restrictions. The pets, for example, cannot be harmed. They are completely untouchable, which becomes a problem when they have bugged dialogue and cannot be dismissed (a bug that has persisted for three years). The items are ugly and out of place with the other weapon and armor sets. Also, it’s extremely stupid for the bandits to be invincible until the player goes across the exact right spot in the bandit camp. All things I expect from a silly mod that never ever should have been bundled with the base game.
And this stuff can’t be removed or disabled. Capital B Bad.
Anyway, I played a sword and board character this time because I’ve always wanted to. It is as unsatisfying as every build, because the combat system is shallow and bad. It wasn’t even good in 2011, really, and it definitely isn’t good now. Not much else to say.
Like all Bethesda games, there’s a thousand different systems but they’re all average. The world design and environments are really solid (except the colors, which are ugly), but everything else is so blah.
The DLCs are fine. The bad writing is back, of course. Dragonborne has some cool Cthulhu ideas and imagery, but the final boss fight is frustrating since the combat system is such a chore already, then it tries to be a multi-stage boss fight and they’re all the same. I always wondered why everyone loved Serana and it turns out it’s really because she’s basically the only NPC in the entire game who gets even a little character building.
Now that I’m finally through this last little chunk I can put Skyrim down for good, though this time without the nostalgia goggles. Considering the proceeding work (Fallout 4, Starfield, etc) I expect the next Elder Scrolls game to similarly be poorly written, badly designed, ugly, and safe. I’m sure it’ll also include the worst base building mechanics ever designed, excessive loading screens, and wooden characters as only Bethesda’s aging and decrepit game engine can provide.
The magic is gone, the ability is gone, and all that’s left is Todd “It Just Works” Howard’s poor design philosophy and Emil “I Can’t Do Branching Quests” completely worthless writing. Starfield was made for 12 year olds and the anodyne tastes of their parents, and ESVI will be the same. I have no faith in the future of Bethesda “RPG” development.
Like I said, mostly negative thoughts. I wish I could say the 31 hours I put into this last foray into Skyrim was worth it, but I’m not really sure it was.
