Thinking about how Neteyam probably braided his siblings hair like the loving, sweet brother he was.

I’d like to think he was the softest with Tuk. Because she is the baby and as we saw in the movie they had such a sweet bond.

I don’t think he was rough with Lo’ak, but I do think that Lo’ak would squirm around and he would have to tell him to sit still. I think that even as Lo’ak acted as if it was such a chore to sit and let him braid his hair, he secretly loved it.

With Kiri he wasn’t as soft as Tuk but not as “rough” as Lo’ak. I think that she would sit still and they would softly talk or giggle.

Your breath hitched as you made your way out of the water and onto the cold rocks, body trembling and feeling the weight as you gasped for air, your vision blurry and disorienting. Nonetheless, you could still sort of make out where you were. The three tall stacks placed evenly around the large stone you were mounted on along with some sand and grass not too far from where you were. Three brothers. You listened to the lapping waves of water onto the rocks, the sounds of birds and the flapping of wings filling the ambience.

A cool pair of hands lifted you up even higher, patting your lower back as you tried to regain a comfortable rhythm of breath. “In and out, in and out.. That’s it. Just take a deep breath”. 

The voice was soothing and low, and you listened and did exactly as you were told before your vision and breath returned to normal. You jerked your head to the left to see a tall blue figure, squatted next to you, gently patting your back; amber eyes staring intensely. Neteyam.

“How long was I under there?” you ask.  “Not long, but enough to have knocked you out entirely.”

You nod, coughing in response to get some water out of your throat. “Just be still, you need time to recover before we head back. Everyone was scared. I was scared.”

i always think that we didn’t see much of neteyam and spider together in the movie bc neteyam is so involved with training and is busy with his dad and also looking out for his siblings that he’s grown and acting like an adult at like 15/16, while spider acts more like his own age bc he doesn’t have as many responsibilities as neteyam. spider hangs out with kiri a lot and lo’ak too, but mainly kiri, so i guess they grew apart a little bit bc of their difference in their duties. but to me, spider is neteyam’s older brother and looks up to him as if he was the younger one instead.

I agree! But what makes me feel even more pity for Neteyam and all of his responsibilities is that Spider is in fact older than all of them. He was born shortly before the big war started, while Neytiri got pregnant shortly after the war and after the RDA had left pandora. So while Spider is the oldest he still gets to be a kid and Neteyam who is actually younger has to act like a full grown adult and father of 3 🥴
