ok no im so tired but ive had this Thing a Laughingstock Concept Thing in my Brain for Days Now and its.... basically what if Barnaby adopted a lil caterpillar. like it's not sapient or anything its literally A Wriggly Puppet Prop. but he finds it in his home and it reminds him of Howdy and he keeps it. he carries it everywhere. he treats it so tenderly and names it and everything. his delusional smitten subconscious is like "omg... mine & howdy's <3" he and Howdy are not even together at this point

so Barnaby cares for this lil caterpillar and Howdy ends up getting attached as well, because he's on the same shit as Barnaby. and eventually the lil caterpillar pupates, and they watch over the chrysalis So Excited to see what lil wormie will look like as a butterfly. and it emerges and they're so proud and weirdly emotional. the butterfly takes off on its first flight and lands on a flower patch

just in time for Eddie to trip and fall on the patch, instantly crushing it And the butterfly

on the good news train today: I have finally finished the last chapter(!!!) of my Inklings challenge story, which marks the FIRST ever Inklings challenge story I've ever completed properly :'D coming in at 30,810 words (yikes) (it did get out of hand, I must admit), it is definitely not a short story, but it IS a piece that I think articulates a lot of what I've been thinking about lately re: love and death, and, considering everything, is probably something I needed to write. I am very happy!! It has been a wild ride, but a deeply clarifying one.

Completely fixated on making my cloak the past couple of days and now have the hood almost completely done and the cloak pieces measured, cut, and marked to be sewed together. I've sewed a zigzag pattern into the hems of the hood and already planned how I'm going to jazz it up with stitching in embroidery thread over the top to hide the machine stitching and make it look like it was more roughly made

I've also been making rings for chainmail which I am going to put as a mini top layer across my shoulders, and have started loosely planning the arm pieces to go with it as I have material from old green trousers that is stiff enough to work well as a base

My brain has been wirring like mad all weekend and I am EXHAUSTED but happy with my progress
